A Wall Street Journal report on September 16 revealed that ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation (NYSE:XOM) is nearing a preliminary agreement with Venezuela's state-owned PDVSA, potentially marking its return to the country almost two decades after its ***** ets were nationalized. According to Reuters, Exxon has shown interest in the large Petromonagas heavy oil project in the Orinoco Belt, as well as in areas in the neighboring Carabobo block.
While the talks are still in their preliminary phase and could still fall apart or be delayed, they mark a major turnaround from Exxon's previous stance on Venezuela. The company's CEO, Darren Woods, stated in January that the country was "uninvestable" without durable investment protections, legal reforms, and changes to its hydrocarbon laws.
The development comes amid a broader push by the Trump administration to open Venezuela's oil industry to American companies and revive the country's dilapidated oil infrastructure. The South American nation is sitting on the largest proven crude oil reserves in the world, accounting for roughly 17% of the global total.
Venezuela could provide Exxon with access to an enormous resource base at a time when the company is actively seeking low-cost and long-duration ***** ets. The fields under consideration are estimated to contain more than 50 billion barrels of oil buried underground.
Exxon already holds an advantage through its previous experience in the country. Petromonagas, formerly called Cerro Negro, was once the energy firm's flagship project in Venezuela, giving it familiarity with the country's vast heavy and extra-heavy crude resources. Petromonagas also remains one of the few Venezuelan projects with an operational upgrader capable of turning the Orinoco's extra-heavy crude into lighter exportable grades.

On September 16, Air Products (NYSE:APD) said it had signed a long-term deal to supply high-purity gases to a leading chipmaker, backed by roughly $250 million of its own money in Arizona. It is the company's second semiconductor supply win, and the two projects together carry more than $900 million of investment. That is a notable turn for a company that has been pulling back from big clean-energy projects.
The Arizona project plays to what Air Products already does. It will build, own, and operate the equipment, from hydrogen generation units and carbon dioxide purification to bulk supply for three gases: helium, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. That means the customer's gas supply runs through equipment Air Products owns. Supply is targeted to start in phases, so the buildout can move alongside the customer's expansion plans. And this is familiar ground. Air Products has supplied electronics makers for more than 40 years, and its Chandler facility has served the Phoenix chip cluster since 1981, with a pipeline system carrying ultra-high purity nitrogen around the area.
The core business gives the deal a solid floor. In the fiscal third quarter, reported on July 30, adjusted earnings per share rose 12% to $3.47, and management lifted its full-year outlook to an adjusted $13.39 to $13.49 per share. Margins widened as well, so growth is showing up as profit. Chips appear elsewhere in the results too, since the company announced a deal to build four large air separation units to serve a chipmaker's growth in Taiwan.
The cost of the pivot is hard to ignore. On June 30, Air Products announced it would not go ahead with its Louisiana Clean Energy Complex and would discontinue a zero-carbon liquid hydrogen facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, plus other smaller clean energy distribution projects. The exits triggered roughly $2.9 billion in pre-tax charges, which is why the company posted a GAAP loss of $6.47 per share in the third quarter even as its underlying earnings grew. Adjusted results leave that hit out, but the GAAP numbers show what the retreat cost.
Owning the ****** ets also means funding them. Air Products expects about $3.5 billion of capital spending in fiscal 2026, and the Arizona plant alone is a commitment of approximately $250 million, with supply arriving in phases. The release also leaves gaps: it does not name the customer or say how long the contract runs, so the length of the revenue stream is unclear. Elsewhere, Europe's operating income rose only 2% as costs climbed, and management says it is still cautious about the economic backdrop.

Argentina's controversial right-wing president, Javier Milei, slashed inflation with a brutal dose of economic austerity, but this came at a steep social cost. The cost of living is spiraling higher, fueling household debt, loan delinquencies, and economic hardship. Industrial output, since Milei took office, has declined sharply, with local companies closing at an alarming rate. While parts of the economy are falling into chaos, Argentina's oil and gas sector is experiencing a generational boom driven by the Vaca Muerta shale.
Argentina's vital hydrocarbon sector continues to surge, with oil production hitting yet another record in July 2026. Output reached 902,920 barrels per day, almost 1% above June and 12% higher than a year earlier, marking the country's highest oil production on record. Natural gas production has also expanded strongly, although output slipped 0.5% month over month and 1.6% year over year in July to average 5.6 billion cubic feet per day. That modest setback barely dents the bigger picture: economically crucial gas production has surged 21% over the past five years.
It is the ongoing and growing exploitation of the Vaca Muerta shale, situated in northern Patagonia in Neuquén Province which is responsible for Argentina's booming oil and natural gas complex. For July 2026, shale oil production rose by 1.2% month over month and a whopping 26% year over year to an all-time high of 648,347 barrels per day. As a result, shale oil now comprises a record 72% of Argentina's total petroleum output. This is also responsible for bolstering energy security in the Americas.
Shale gas production is also expanding at a healthy clip. For July 2026, Argentina lifted an average of 3.9 billion cubic feet per day of the fossil, which, despite being nearly 1% less than a month prior, was almost 4% higher year over year. That is the second-highest monthly shale gas production ever recorded. It was only eclipsed by June 2026 output, which hit 3.94 billion cubic feet per day. Shale gas now makes up 70% of Argentina's natural gas output, which is the highest level ever recorded.
Shale oil and gas production will keep growing at a solid pace, with Argentina on track to become a pure unconventional producer. You see, conventional oil output is in decline and has been for over a decade. Argentina's conventional fields are well past their prime, in many cases having hit peak production a decade ago with output now truly in decline. Government data shows July 2026 conventional oil production of 254,574 barrels per day, which is 2% lower than a month prior and 13% less year over year, indicating conventional oil output is 50% lower than a decade ago.

NuScale Power Corporation (SMR) stands out as America's leading developer of small modular reactors (SMRs), building light-water nuclear systems designed to deliver reliable, carbon-free baseload power. Its core product, the NuScale Power Module, targets a wide range of applications, from traditional electricity generation to industrial decarbonization, AI data center power supply, and hydrogen production. Notably, NuScale remains the only SMR developer to secure Standard Design Approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, a regulatory milestone that continues to anchor its competitive positioning in the emerging advanced nuclear industry.
NuScale's stock has been anything but stable. Over the past 52 weeks, shares have traded across an enormous range, from a low of $7.21 to a high of $57.42, before settling closer to $10.81. That volatility stems from a mix of factors: heavy retail investor interest, elevated short interest fueling sharp swings in both directions, and macroeconomic shifts in interest rates that disproportionately affect capital-intensive, pre-revenue growth companies. Compared to the Russell 2000, a benchmark of diversified, largely profitable small-cap stocks, NuScale carries a significantly higher beta and downside risk, reflecting its speculative, early-stage commercialization profile.

Choosing between a clean energy innovator and a traditional oil giant reflects a core tension in today's market. Investors must decide if Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) or Diamondback Energy (NASDAQ:FANG) is the better buy.
Bloom Energy manufactures solid oxide fuel cells that provide reliable onsite power, targeting the surging demand from artificial intelligence infrastructure. Diamondback Energy focuses on extracting oil and gas from the Permian Basin, prioritizing operational efficiency and shareholder returns. While both operate in the energy **** e, their business models, risk profiles, and valuation metrics differ significantly for 2026 investors.
Bloom Energy serves as a prominent player among renewable energy stocks, focusing on solid oxide technology for onsite electricity and hydrogen production. The company targets large-load customers in the data center, semiconductor, and industrial sectors where power reliability is critical. Key partnerships include an agreement with American Electric Power (NASDAQ:AEP) to provide up to one gigawatt of fuel cells and a financing framework worth nearly $5.0 billion with Brookfield (NYSE:BN).
In FY 2025, Bloom Energy reported revenue of approximately $2.0 billion, which represents a growth rate of roughly 37.3% compared to the prior year. Despite this robust top-line performance, the company reported a net loss of nearly $88.4 million for the same period. This loss widened from a net loss of approximately $29.2 million in FY 2024, although the net margin of negative 4.4% in FY 2025 was a significant improvement over the negative 22.7% margin seen in FY 2023.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, Bloom Energy holds a debt-to-equity ratio of 3.9x. This ratio measures total debt against shareholder equity, indicating the company relies moderately on borrowed funds to fuel its expansion. The current ratio, which measures a company's ability to cover short-term debts with its short-term **** ets, stands at a strong 6.0x. For FY 2025, free cash flow reached close to $57.2 million, which is the cash remaining after paying for operating costs and equipment investments.

On September 14, American Battery Technology Company (NASDAQ:ABAT) held its fiscal year 2026 earnings call, and for once the numbers matched the ambition. Revenue at its flagship recycling facility jumped more than 400% to $21.7 million, and the company posted its first-ever adjusted gross profit. But on the same call, CEO Ryan Melsert disclosed a federal directive that could choke off exports of one of the plant's key products, black mass, a reminder that ABAT's fortunes are still tied tightly to Washington.
Revenue jumped over 400% year over year to $21.7 million, fueled by higher throughput at the company's first recycling facility and increased sales of byproducts. Cost of goods sold rose only 67% over the same stretch, evidence that fixed costs are spreading across a much bigger volume of material. Even more telling, operating cash spend actually fell 16% even as throughput at the plant more than quadrupled. That combination pushed American Battery Technology to an adjusted gross profit of $1.7 million, a sharp turnaround from the $6.2 million loss it posted a year earlier.
The balance sheet tells a similar story. Cash climbed to $49.5 million as of June 30, 2026, and total ***** ets reached $133 million, up sharply from the prior year. The company also erased all of its long-term debt during the year, leaving it with a clean balance sheet heading into a period of heavy capital spending.
Growth plans are already in motion. A second recycling facility planned for the Southeast U.S., designed to process 100,000 tons of batteries a year, is backed by a $150 million grant from the Department of Energy, and a separate $10 million DOE grant is funding three next-generation recycling technologies. On the mining side, the Bureau of Land Management certified the company's plan of operations for its Tonopah lithium project in Nevada, home to an identified 21.3 million tons of lithium hydroxide, including 2.7 million tons of proven and probable reserves. The project also won a FAST-41 priority designation, intended to speed up federal permitting.
The clearest risk surfaced on the call itself. The US Department of Commerce issued a directive that effectively bans the export of black mass, the concentrated metal byproduct of battery recycling, unless a company obtains a specific exception. American Battery Technology has submitted a request for that exception, but as of the call, Commerce had not issued a formal response, and the company is storing black mass at its facility in the meantime.

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), a developer of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), has been one of the market's hottest growth stocks. Its shares surged more than 2,500% over the past two years, while its backlog swelled to $20 billion at the end of 2025. That's ten times the $2.0 billion in revenue it generated in 2025. ******* ysts expect its revenue to more than double to $4.1 billion this year, then grow 65% to $6.8 billion in 2027 and 46% to $9.9 billion in 2028.
That growth trajectory is impressive, but the recent introduction of its Power Connect system -- which could reduce its on-site installation time by more than 40% -- could help it exceed those bullish estimates. Let's see why this upgrade could matter more than the size of its backlog.

Italy's Eni has signed a 25-year contract with Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA that makes the Italian energy major the exclusive operator of the giant Junín-5 heavy-oil field in the Orinoco Belt.
The agreement gives Eni responsibility for the technical, financial and commercial management of Junín-5, which contains an estimated 35 billion barrels of certified oil in place but currently produces just 12,000 barrels per day.
The deal marks a significant change from the previous Petrojunín joint-venture structure, under which PDVSA held 60% and Eni 40%. Venezuela's recently reformed hydrocarbons law allows foreign and domestic companies greater autonomy to operate fields, market production and receive proceeds from oil sales.
The signing took place during U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright's visit to Caracas and comes amid a broader revival of foreign investment in Venezuela's oil industry. Chevron separately announced plans to invest $7 billion over five years and more than double its Venezuelan production to 600,000 bpd by 2031.
Eni has major ambitions for Junín-5. The company originally envisioned developing the field to 240,000 bpd, although that target—initially planned for 2018—was never achieved. The Financial Times reported Wednesday that Eni plans to invest around $1.5 billion annually as it ramps up the project.

French gases group Air Liquide is getting the activist-investor treatment.
Elliott reportedly built a stake and wants the firm to sharpen margins. Investors liked the idea, sending the shares higher as the market started pricing in a little less patience and a little more pressure.
Elliott's been engaging with the company for months, though the the size of the stake is not known. The message, however, is clear: improve margins and compete harder with the sector's best operators.
Air Liquide is not exactly a wounded minnow. The Paris-based group is worth about €108 billion (about $125 billion) and supplies gases including oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen to factories, hospitals, semiconductor plants and energy customers. It is one of Europe's major industrial champions. But activists don't usually arrive because everything looks perfect.

HOUSTON/CARACAS, Aug 31 (Reuters) - U.S. companies Chevron and GE Vernova, India's ONGC, Italy's Eni and Colombia's GeoPark are on track to sign final agreements in Venezuela after months of negotiations to ‌firm up energy projects in the OPEC country, five sources close to the preparations said.
Most of the pacts ‌imply completion of a six-month migration of oil contracts to an amended hydrocarbon law now giving more flexibility to foreign firms to expand and operate oilfields, export the barrels and cash sale proceeds, the sources said. Others set terms for new energy and electricity projects.
The list of companies lining up to sign has not been finalized as executives are rushing to complete negotiations at the last minute, two of the sources said.
Chevron's agreements with Venezuela are expected to be "of significant size," according to one of the sources.

Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), India's ONGC, Italy's Eni and Colombia's GeoPark are reportedly close to signing final agreements for energy projects in Venezuela after months of negotiations. Most of the agreements would move existing oil contracts under Venezuela's amended hydrocarbons law, which gives foreign companies more flexibility to operate and expand fields, export crude and receive cash proceeds from sales. Some agreements would also cover new electricity and energy projects.
For Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), the opportunity could be particularly significant. The company is seeking to add a block in Venezuela's Orinoco Belt, which could allow it to expand an existing joint venture with state-owned PDVSA. It is also pursuing an area in Monagas North that could provide diluents needed for its extra-heavy oil production. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Chevron was close to securing rights to two additional heavy-oil fields.
The agreements would represent another step toward reopening Venezuela's energy sector to foreign investment, but the final list of companies and terms had not yet been finalized at the time of the Reuters report.
The biggest positive is greater access to Venezuela's enormous oil resources. The amended hydrocarbons framework could give foreign companies more control over their operations and improve their ability to monetize production. For Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), additional acreage in the Orinoco Belt could provide a meaningful avenue to increase long-term Venezuelan production.
Chevron also has an advantage over companies entering Venezuela for the first time because it already operates joint ventures in the country. That existing infrastructure, relationships, and operational experience could allow it to capture opportunities more efficiently as the sector reopens. The Wall Street Journal has noted that Chevron is currently the only major U.S. oil company operating in Venezuela.

The wait for a large gas turbine now runs longer than the time it takes to design, permit, and build the plant it will sit in. Order one today from any of the three largest manufacturers, and the delivery slot lands four or more years out—if a slot is available at all. The queue to connect a new plant to the grid runs about as long. For developers racing to power the data centers hyperscalers are building, the timeline no longer works, and it is pushing the U.S. generation build toward whatever can be constructed without waiting in either line. That dislocation is the backdrop to a quieter story about where capital is moving, and it surfaced in July when a familiar U.S. plant operator changed hands. IHI Power Services Corp., a company with roughly four decades of experience running American power plants, became Kyuden Energy Partners Corp. on completion of its acquisition by Kyuden International Corp., the overseas arm of a company fully owned by **** an's Kyushu Electric Power Co. The rebrand is the news of the day. The more instructive part is what a foreign utility chose to buy: not power plants, but the capability to run them.
Tony Dabbene, who led IHI Power Services through the transition and stays on as CEO, was blunt about the market. "We are seeing the most dynamic environment in decades," he told POWER, pointing to demand tied to the hyperscalers' data center buildout. Major gas turbine manufacturers, he said, are quoting lead times of four-plus years, with interconnection queues running about the same. The manufacturers' own disclosures bear that out: GE Vernova's gas turbine backlog and slot reservations reached 116 GW by mid-2026, and Siemens Energy has described itself as booked into the back half of the decade, treating 2029 delivery slots as near-term availability. What Dabbene described next was the market's response. Rather than wait for an interconnection that may not clear before mid-decade, developers are building behind the meter and on private grids that sidestep the queue entirely. To power them, they're reaching for whatever can be deployed the fastest: reciprocating engines, fuel cells, and battery storage paired with microgrids, engineered to achieve the high-availability targets that around-the-clock computing demands while managing the power-quality swings that come when those loads shift in an instant. "It is a brand-new world in the energy **** e," he said. This is where a multi-fuel operator has the edge. A company that already runs natural gas, hydro, biomass, wind, solar, and storage has done the work developers are now rushing toward—operating mixed generation and meeting high availability targets. The turbine shortage may be a headache for those building facilities, but it's an opportunity for reliable operators.

"In a split-second act of pure bravery, Ashley pushed the other person out of harm's way, taking the brunt of the impact herself," the GoFundMe description reads. "Because of her selfless courage, Ashley is now facing a very long and difficult road to recovery. She has already undergone two major surgeries in the last 18 hours alone, with more scheduled in the days ahead."
The fundraiser is going toward medical expenses not covered by insurance, daily household bills and expenses, gas and travel costs for commuting back and forth to the hospital and groceries for Taunton's three children.

Professional wrestling storylines are often built around surprise moments, from unexpected returns to sudden plot twists.
However when British star Jamie Hayter suffered two herniated discs in her back in 2023, she feared she would never get back in the ring.
It left her in constant pain, barely able to feed her cats - and wondering if her career was over.
But the grappler, who competes with All Elite Wrestling, told BBC News that the experience gave her a better perspective on her wrestling.
And the 31-year-old from Southampton is back on home turf this week, performing in two shows at Glasgow's OVO Hydro arena and then at AEW's biggest event of the year, called All In and held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The simple answer is no. I encourage investors to ignore all the fear-mongering headlines claiming that nearly half of the data centers planned for 2026 have been delayed or canceled.
For quick background, New York became the first state to institute a statewide moratorium on large data centers, which made many investors worried. This restricts the construction and permits for hyperscale data centers that consume 50+ megawatts of power. The moratorium is in effect for one year.
The one-year moratorium was enacted to give New York the time to refine its regulations. New York Governor Kathy Hochul wants all new data centers to be subject to the same "consistent standards."
The state plans to review and research the environmental impact of data center construction and operation – and once standards are agreed upon, the moratorium will end.
Upstate New York is ideal for data centers, given cheap hydroelectric power and a direct-current grid from Hydro-Québec. So, I suspect construction will resume once these standards are set.

Sustainable Growth Advisers (SGA), an investment management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter for its "Global Growth Strategy." The letter can be downloaded here. The SGA Global Growth Portfolio returned 7.4% gross and 7.2% net, compared with 14.9% for the MSCI ACWI and 19.8% for the MSCI ACWI Growth Index. Momentum leadership and enthusiasm around AI infrastructure drove markets, with semiconductor, memory, and hardware stocks accounting for much of the gain. Although the portfolio owned AI beneficiaries, broader holdings lagged despite fundamentals, as median revenue and EPS growth reached 12% and 14% and more than 60% of the holdings beat expectations. SGA believes valuation compression reflects sentiment rather than weaker business quality, leaving the portfolio near its widest discount to the market since inception. The firm continues to favor durable compounders and expects 16% revenue growth and 20% earnings growth over three years. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, SGA Global Growth Strategy highlighted Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (NYSE:CP). SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (NYSE:CP) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We engaged with management of Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (NYSE:CP) in advance of the company's annual meeting to discuss its climate strategy and a proposal on climate-related disclosures. A key topic of discussion was the company's decision to defer establishing a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated 1.5°C-aligned emissions reduction target. While the ISS Sustainability policy recommended voting against the climate proposal due to the absence of intermediate and long-term emissions targets, management explained that the delay stemmed from the lack of a finalized intensity-based methodology from SBTi appropriate for the freight rail industry, emphasizing that CPKC remains committed to its existing goal of reducing locomotive well-to-wheel emissions intensity by 36.9% by 2030 and continues to work with SBTi as industryspecific frameworks evolve. Management highlighted continued spending on locomotive fleet modernization, including investment in new Tier 4 locomotives, expansion of its hydrogen locomotive program, and trials of renewable fuels. After reviewing the company's disclosures, proxy materials, and feedback from management, we concluded that the company is making goo

Mexico's state oil firm Pemex and Brazil's national oil company Petrobras are joining efforts and expertise to drill prospects in Mexican waters in the Gulf of Mexico, hoping to unlock huge oil resources from source rock formations that are miles deeper and eight times older than the currently producing formations in the U.S. Gulf.
Exploration in the Jurassic formations deep under the Mexican Gulf seabed in the Campeche Bay carries high risks, but the reward in case of a discovery could be enormous, geologists and ******* ysts tell Bloomberg.
Back in 2018, Pemex drilled more than 7,800 meters (25,600 feet) below the sea floor and penetrated the Campeche salt layer in an exploratory well that was declared unproductive. The Mexican oil giant hasn't ventured new exploratory wells in the area since then, but industry experts believe that Pemex may have found something of great geological and/or hydrocarbon-bearing potential, which has prompted it to pursue exploration further.
Pemex hasn't shared publicly any results of its 2018 drilling campaign offshore Campeche, but ******* ysts say there is a reason why the Mexican oil giant hasn't abandoned efforts to find huge resources and turn around years of declining domestic oil production from legacy wells.

Owning a rental property is supposed to bring in money. For Oz and his wife, their Tampa, Florida, townhome is doing the opposite. After all the expenses are counted, Oz says they're losing exactly $730 every month.
Oz called "The Ramsey Show" and shared that the couple never actually planned to become landlords. They bought the newly constructed townhome about three years ago, lived there for roughly 10 months and then moved back to Miami when Oz's job called him into the office.

Hydrogen stocks have spent years testing investors' patience. Still, August 2026 offers two very different reasons for optimism: one company inching toward profitability after a brutal reset and another already cashing in on the artificial intelligence (AI) power boom. If you believe the sector's turnaround is real, Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG) and Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) are worth a close look.
No stock better represents the boom-and-bust cycle of the hydrogen industry than Plug Power. Finally, though, Plug could be moving in a positive direction for good. In Plug's second quarter, the adjusted loss per share was just $0.07, beating expectations by a penny. Plug also hit $178.3 million in revenue, and gross margins approached breakeven.

Management has been cutting costs while simultaneously pushing growth. Operating expenses fell 50% year over year, while deployed units more than doubled to 1,666, and service revenue exploded 82% in the same time frame.
Plug maintains more than $160 million in cash and equivalents, and that number, combined with growth and lower costs, should give Plug plenty of runway to hit its targets. The turnaround story still has a long way to go, but it looks like the hydrogen fuel cell manufacturer is well on its way.

Venezuela's new petroleum minister sees her South American home not as a dilapidated former oil giant, but as an emerging energy economy ripe for U.S. and foreign investments in new oil and gas exploration, both onshore and offshore.
Paula Henao, who took over as the hydrocarbons minister in March after the forced U.S. removal of former leader Nicolás Maduro, told an overflowing Houston energy audience on Wednesday that Venezuela is much more than just its famed heavy-grade crude oil. There are more than 916 exploration opportunities awaiting foreign investment, she said, including natural gas and other untapped oil basins. She cited an estimated 192 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves, as well as the country's world-leading proven oil reserves of more than 300 billion barrels.
"It's an entire world waiting to be discovered, just waiting for us to reach these agreements so we can develop these new areas," Henao said in Spanish to the crowd at the posh Post Oak Hotel in Houston.
Henao and leaders of the Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA, were in Houston this week for meetings and a showcase event in advance of a bigger Venezuela Energy Week in February in Caracas.
"Go to Venezuela to invest, go to Venezuela to develop businesses there," said PDVSA Vice President Jovanny Martinez, also speaking in Spanish. "We are at the right place at this historical moment. We have the energy that the world requires."

Eagle Capital Management, an investment management company, released its second quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, Eagle Capital Management discussed how enthusiasm around AI capital spending has driven strong S&P 500 earnings growth while also increasing risks from elevated valuations, concentrated demand, and aggressive investment ***** umptions. Eagle remains a strong believer in AI but prefers constructing a portfolio that can perform across multiple outcomes rather than relying on one forecast. The firm believes current earnings can overstate underlying economics because semiconductor equipment is depreciated over several years, while free cash flow growth remains much weaker. It also expects competition and additional capacity across AI labs, hyperscalers, and semiconductors to eventually create winners and losers. These dynamics are encouraging Eagle to recycle capital toward attractive opportunities outside the most crowded AI trades while maintaining selective exposure to high quality beneficiaries. The portfolio trades at a 20% market discount with faster expected EPS growth. Please review the Strategy's top five holdings for key selections.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Eagle Capital Management highlighted EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT). EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) engages in the exploration, production, gathering, and transmission of hydrocarbons and natural gas. On August 19, 2026, EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) closed at $53.64 per share. One-month return of EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) was 0.47% and its shares gained 3.05% over the past 52 weeks. EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) has a market capitalization of $33.55 billion with a 52-week trading range between $47.94 - $68.24.
Eagle Capital Management stated the following regarding EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"The energy & metals companies we own benefit from favorable multiyear supply/demand outlooks, management teams that are good capital allocators, and ***** et bases that are well-positioned on the global cost curve. EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) is the largest U.S. pure-play natural gas producer. Like ConocoPhillips, it has low-cost, long-lived ***** ets and management with an excellent track record allocating capital. Its position in the Marcellus shale and internally owned pipeline ***** ets give it a distinctive position compared to most peers. It earns good margins even when prices are low. In the coming years, as LNG export capacity is added and U.S. electricity demand increases due to data center buildouts, we think supply and demand are likely to tighten. Combined with moderate production growth and a large free cash flow yield, it offers good EPS growth and attractive skew. We expect EPS growth in the mid-teens over the next several years."
