Hamtramck — Earning three points with a 1-0 victory over the first place Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday night, Aug. 22, was the perfect way for Detroit City FC to celebrate its Motor City Night.
Detroit native and Indy NXT driver Nolan Allaer was the honorary captain of DCFC for the night's theme, and Le Rouge's record when scoring the first goal improved to 9-1-0.
"It's a massive win — we've spoken about it, we've dreamt about it, and then we've done it," DCFC head coach Danny Dichio said. "We saw some really good football tonight against a very good team in Tampa — we haven't scored in two games at home, so it was important getting that goal as well."
Before the game started, the crowd added to the competitive atmosphere chanting "Come and get it," and followed that with their infamous smoke bombs.
The bombs were reactivated at the 36th minute after DCFC forward Alasanne Ates Diouf scored the first goal of the match with defender Aedan Stanley ***** isting to put it ahead before halftime.

Claudia Schiffer's model genes have clearly passed down to her daughter, Clementine, who looked like her mom's twin during a recent vacation in Greece.
The 21-year-old was hailed a "blonde bombshell" after she shared several photos from her idyllic trip on Instagram.
In one image, a makeup-free Clementine rocked a plunging turquoise swimsuit as she stood by a pool at sunset, with her wavy blonde locks cascading down her chest.
Another photo showed her posing for a mirror selfie while wearing a figure-hugging floral dress that accentuated her curvaceous physique.
Her followers were blown away by her model good looks and enviable figure, with one commenting: "My fave blonde bombshell!!!" A second said: "Hottest woman alive." A third simply added: "Beauty."

Ukraine is buying a homegrown glide bomb that could help its pilots strike Russian forces from a safer distance while relying less on weapons supplied by the U.S. and Europe.
The new weapon is called the Vyrivniuvach, or "Equalizer." It was developed by Ukrainian company DG Industry with support from Brave1, a government-backed defense technology group.
A Ukrainian military official told Ukrinform that the bomb has finished testing and is now being bought for the armed forces. Fox News Digital has reached out to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense for more details.
Until now, Ukraine's warplanes have relied heavily on U.S.-supplied JDAM-ER bomb kits and Small Diameter Bombs, as well as French-made Hammer bombs, for precision strikes from safer distances. The Equalizer could give Kyiv more control over its own supply of guided bombs as foreign military aid remains uncertain.

It's the first year on the job for the new head of the Atlanta Falcons front office, former quarterback Matt Ryan. It's still too early to judge Ryan's offseason moves based on the results, but we can at least evaluate his process.
So far, the best move that Ryan has made was one of his earliest: signing former Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year deal at the veteran minimum.
That move earned the Falcons an "A" grade from Bleacher Report in a piece re-ranking the biggest free agent moves of the year.
"Another no-brainer for another NFC team losing confidence in a third-year first-round pick. Tagovailoa is a flawed quarterback but has accomplished a lot (Pro Bowler, league's highest-rated passer, passing yardage leader) at the age of 28. Miami is footing most of the bill."
If Tagovailoa bombs during the regular season as he did in his preseason debut against Denver, at least it didn't really cost the Falcons anything. Ryan added critical depth at the game's most important position and did it on the cheap - that's always going to earn strong grades no matter how the player winds up performing.

Prince Harry's wife, Meghan, faces a tough challenge in reassimilating to life in the UK where she remains deeply unpopular, as well as managing uneasy ties with the royal family.
Through bombshell interviews and tell-all documentaries, the 45-year-old former American actress has never hidden how difficult she found things after her fairytale wedding to Harry in 2018.
And both she and Harry have complained about her treatment by the British media which Harry told a court this year made her life "an absolute misery".
"I think there's more questions sort of over her and how she re-adapts to the life back in the United Kingdom" than about Harry, said historian Ed Owens.
How she will cope "is difficult to answer at this stage because you know she's tried successively over the last six years to reinvent her public image to relaunch her brand", he added.

Kate Middleton's alleged strategy to make peace between her husband, Prince William, and his estranged younger brother, Prince Harry, has reportedly taken a massive turn. The future Queen's strategy is reportedly not about rebuilding the relationship between the two royal brothers. Allegedly, the main purpose of this new peace plan by the Princess of Wales is to protect the monarchy.
Kate Middleton allegedly wishes for her husband, Prince William, to make peace with his younger brother, Prince Harry, for nothing other than the monarchy. The report came amid the bombshell rumors about the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle's plan to move back to the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, it should be noted that the Sussex couple has not confirmed the rumors about their UK move yet.
As reported by Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice, a source told them that Kate Middleton "is the voice of reason." The person continued that the Princess of Wales "knows William and Harry may never be brothers in the way they once were." The source then went on to explain, "But they can be civil, they can cooperate." The person also added, "And they can stop feeding the story that the royal family is permanently divided."
In the meantime, per the news outlet, the insider further claimed, "This isn't about forgiveness." The person continued, "It's about strategy." The insider then explained that Kate Middleton "is thinking about the institution and the future." The person continued, "When William is King, and she is Queen."
The source also described Kate Middleton's approach to protecting the monarchy, calling the Princess of Wales "a chess player." After that, the source explained that the future Queen "doesn't need Harry to love William. She needs him to stop fighting him," the source also added.

Prince Harry's new photos from a roundtable event to show support for veterans on Wednesday, August 19, in Washington, DC, reportedly captured him all smiles. The Duke of Sussex was allegedly smiling from ear to ear as he stepped out during the event. This outing by the Prince took place amid bombshell rumors about him and his wife, Meghan Markle, moving back to the UK, along with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Sussex camp, including the Duke of Sussex and the ***** ss of Sussex, has yet to confirm the news about their striking UK move. However, BBC News' senior royal correspondent, Daniela Relph, has claimed to have spoken to the Sussex couple's spokesperson, who has confirmed the bombshell news.
Prince Harry reportedly attended a roundtable event for veterans in Washington, DC, in the middle of the rumors about him, his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two kids moving back to the UK. The rumors have been swirling all around the internet, sparking major buzz and different speculations among royal watchers. The bombshell rumor came just weeks after the Duke of Sussex and the ***** ss of Sussex had a reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla in Britain, at Highgrove House. The Sussex couple's children were also present during the reunion, which marked the monarch meeting his grandchildren after four years.
In the meantime, as reported by Page Six, new photos obtained by them showed Prince Harry showcasing a bright smile on his face while at the Washington event for the veterans. According to the news outlet, the Duke of Sussex was "beaming" while greeting all the guests at the event. He also reportedly spoke at the podium, which had the UK national flag, a little Union Jack, in front of the microphone.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals and left the UK to live in the US back in 2020. Thus, this rumored UK move comes six years after that much-talked-about event in royal history.

The full agreement between Barcelona and Manchester City for Rodri Hernández is shaking up the summer transfer market, while Real Madrid wrap up their preseason with a big win and LaLiga gets its first season underway.
The Madrid-based press is focusing on the positive feelings around Real Madrid in the final stretch of their preparations. Marca leads its front page with the headline "A top-level Madrid" after their emphatic 0-3 win over Schalke 04, highlighting that Kylian Mbappé needed only six minutes to find the net.
For its part, AS leads with "Mbappé shines with Mourinho", underlining the French star's leadership and the strong defensive and goalscoring displays from players such as Huijsen and Espí. At the top, both papers agree in highlighting the imminent agreement between Barça and Manchester City for Rodri.
In the Catalan press, the real bombshell of the summer is stealing all the attention. Sport declares on its front page with a resounding "Signed!" to announce the full agreement for Rodri for a fee close to 60 million fixed plus add-ons.
Along very similar lines, Mundo Deportivo headlines "Rodri YES" and adds that João Cancelo will also arrive on a free transfer after ending his ties with Al Hilal. Both outlets round out their front pages with Barça's 2-5 win in Basel, featuring a brace from Bisiwu and major contributions from the youngsters.

Philadelphia 76ers fans who saw a supposed Joel Embiid injury bombshell circulating on social media can stand down for now.
A viral X post claiming Embiid suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and would miss the entire 2026-27 NBA season did not come from ESPN insider Shams Charania. The post came from an impersonator account using the handle shamscarani. Charania's authentic account is ShamsCharania.
That tiny difference is easy to miss while scrolling — and the stakes made the post particularly combustible.
Philadelphia has gone all-in on a championship run after adding LeBron James to a roster featuring Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe. James officially joined the Sixers in July on a two-year contract after saying he believed he could help Philadelphia contend for a championship.
A season-ending Embiid injury would instantly change that outlook. There is no legitimate reporting supporting the viral claim, however.

After back-to-back disappointing seasons, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys are poised to enter the playoff hunt once again in the NFC. While injuries derailed them in 2024, last year had a much simpler explanation.
The defense was in shambles for most of the year, and it was easy to see why. Trading a then four-time, now five-time Pro Bowler like Micah Parsons can be a culture shock to his side of the ball, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones still believes he made the right choice.
Even as the contract negotiation dragged on, it felt inevitable that Parsons would return to the Cowboys. A former first-round pick, he had been a perennial Defensive Player of the Year contender and had three All-Pro selections in his first four seasons.
But right before their season got underway, the league was hit with a bombshell when they traded the Penn State product to the Green Bay Packers. As he went on to have an excellent season before a torn ACL, the Cowboys collapsed on the defensive side of the ball.
Ranked dead last on PFN's Defense Impact Metric, it held the team back in a major way, leading to a 7-9-1 record that saw them miss the playoffs for the second straight season. This year, the team has spent a ton of resources on rebuilding that side of the ball.

Aug 11 (Reuters) - Seven workers were killed at a Ukrainian steel plant on Tuesday during a Russian attack on the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia in which President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Moscow used North Korean ballistic missiles.
The ‌Zaporizhstal plant was forced to suspend production after being hit as Russia pummelled Zaporizhzhia with Zircon hypersonic missiles, ‌guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles supplied by Pyongyang.
"The ballistic missile strike hit as employees were making their way to a shelter immediately after the air-raid alert was sounded," parent company Metinvest Group said in a statement that put the death toll at seven.
The attack brought production at the plant to a complete halt, and other damaged sites were operating at reduced capacity, the company said.
Regional governor Ivan Fedorov posted photos of buildings and vehicles ablaze after the strike, which also damaged four residential buildings. At least 24 people were injured. No damage ‌was reported at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia attacked Ukrainian cities with missiles, drones and glide bombs Tuesday, killing at least 10 civilians, officials said, as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Moscow is getting new military help from North Korea for its more than 4-year-old invasion.
Zelenskyy said Russian forces used ballistic missiles supplied by North Korea in an overnight attack on the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, where a company said seven workers at its steel plant were killed and 21 injured.
Three more people, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed by Russian drones and artillery in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, authorities said.
In addition to the ballistic missiles, North Korea is preparing to deploy more of its troops to Russia, Zelenskyy said late Monday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2024, pledging mutual aid if either country faces aggression.

Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook dropped a bombshell on investors during the company's latest quarterly earnings call, noting a "100-year flood" in memory chip pricing, suggesting a major event had occurred that upended all the company's usual **** ysis. This could be a major problem for Apple, as it has to raise prices just to maintain margins, potentially stretching already-indebted consumers and causing sales issues.
However, just because Apple may be struggling due to rising memory chip prices doesn't mean that investors will miss out on it. Instead, I'd suggest looking at memory chip companies to invest in, as they're the ones making a killing from rising prices.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Two that I think are well-positioned to cash in are Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) and Micron (NASDAQ: MU). Each company has been on an absolute tear this year due to rising memory chip prices, and the trend could continue into 2027 if prices remain high.
Sandisk and Micron each fabricate memory chips. However, Sandisk focuses only on NAND memory, while Micron produces both NAND and DRAM. Both types of memory are used in Apple products and in data centers. DRAM memory is much faster but has a lower storage capacity. NAND memory is typically used for long-term data storage, although it isn't as fast as DRAM.

Democratic senators are still backing Maine Senate nominee Troy Jackson, who replaced former candidate Graham Platner on the ballot, after the latest allegations threaten to yet again shake up the race for U.S. Senate in the Pine Tree State.
Platner, following a series of scandals culminating in ***** ual misconduct claims, was forced to drop out ahead of the Democratic primary to take on Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, earlier this summer. But now, a bombshell report claims Platner's replacement fathered two children with his second cousin.
The recent report wasn't enough to turn lawmakers against Jackson, with most stressing the necessity for Democrats to win swing state races in order to win back a majority in the upper chamber — not an easy feat in Maine, where Collins, a moderate, has represented the state in the Senate since 1997.
Maine's other senator, independent Angus King, said: "I have no idea what you're talking about, and I'm not going to comment on it anyway."
Troy Jackson speaks as he became the Maine Democratic Party's choice to be their U.S. Senate nominee to replace Graham Platner on the ballot in November on July 25, 2026, in Bangor, Maine.

Pablo Torre dropped his latest bombshell on Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers and this one may be a gamechanger.
After initially reporting that Leonard had a sponsorship deal with Aspiration that appeared to circumvent the NBA salary cap, Torre found a similar agreement with tech company Daktronics, the manufacturer of the Intuit Dome scoreboard.
The second questionable deal is increasing the avalanche of pressure on the Clippers, owner Steve Ballmer, and the entire league over what happens next. And on Friday's episode of First Take, Stephen A. Smith gave his verdict. He suggested that both Ballmer and Leonard should be banned for a year.
"This is egregious if it's true. If it's true, we're talking about banishment for Steve Ballmer as far as I'm concerned for at least a year. It should be entertained that Kawhi Leonard should be banned for a year. He just took the money, but **** that," Smith said. "The deal with Aspiration, that's a green banking company that's at the center of the NBA investigation going on now. To learn that you might have had another sponsorship deal worth millions of dollars with Daktronics? So you had not one but a couple of companies funneling money to you? To circumvent the salary cap with you getting this money but you also getting these additional dollars on the side illegally, because according to NBA bylaws, you ain't supposed to be doing this? Nah, you can't go for that."
Stephen A. Smith had Pablo Torre on his podcast and echoed the sentiment that the hammer should come down on both Kawhi Leonard and the Cippers. Not only did he again suggest a one-year suspension for Leonard and Ballmer, but taking draft picks away from the Cilppers and voiding Leonard's contract altogether.

Kawhi Leonard's luck may help him after the conclusion of the NBA's ongoing investigation of LA Clippers circumventing the salary cap.
Investigative journalist Pablo Torre's bombshell reports about Kawhi Leonard and Steve Ballmer's LA Clippers circumventing the salary cap has been a major topic of discussion heading into the season.
After all, if Leonard is found guilty, his trade to the Toronto Raptors could be voided. But that's only the case if the league's investigation reaches a conclusion before 2027.
Right now, the investigation is in its arbitration stage, and this is something that works in favor of the 2x NBA champion.

Last week's bombshell federal order granting high school class of 2022 athletes a fifth season of eligibility is already producing widespread ripple effects through college basketball. Hundreds of graduating seniors are doing an about-face and returning to the college level for one more year, including former St. John's guard Oziyah Sellers, who entered the transfer portal on Saturday. Another Red Storm senior could join him soon.
Dillon Mitchell, the former St. John's forward and Boston Celtics rookie, could return to the program this upcoming season, according to Adam Zagoria. The Red Storm are also reportedly interested in Auburn forward and All-SEC selection Keyshawn Hall, another senior eyeing a fifth season in college basketball.
Mitchell was selected with the 40th overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics and stood out in the NBA Summer League, averaging 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds on solid shooting efficiency in three games. Yet, he remains unsigned by the team, meaning he is still eligible to return to college basketball if he can't agree to terms with the Celtics.
His pathway to a possible comeback is clear after forward Gildas Gimenez was reportedly deemed academically ineligible, opening up a spot on the 15-man roster if Mitchell opts to go back to college.
The ultra-athletic 6-foot-8 forward transferred to St. John's following stops at Texas and Cincinnati, quickly forming a three-headed monster with fellow All-Big East honorees Zuby Ejiofor and Bryce Hopkins. Last season, Mitchell averaged 8.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 ***** ists on 55.9% shooting for the Red Storm and also earned a spot on the Big East All-Defense team after posting 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks per game for a KenPom top-15 defensive unit.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. -- SummerSlam Sunday has ended, bringing the 2026 edition of the 'Biggest Party of the Summer' to a close. After an incredible night one, the WWE somehow matched its effort from a night ago and surpassed it in some regards.
Let's not waste any time, and get straight into the results from SummerSlam Sunday.
Kevin Owens defeats Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Gunther to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship
After the amazing opening match between Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan last night, the WWE understood the ******* ignment for tonight's opener. It was supposed to be a singles match between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn, but right before the bell rang, reinstated SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced he'd be adding a competitor. It was Gunther, the man who defeated Aldis last night. Aldis then let Gunther enter the ring, before he announced one more addition to the match, a returning Kevin Owens. U.S. Bank Stadium absolutely erupted, as the crowd favorite was finally back after over 15 months of dealing with a neck injury.
That energy they gave KO remained for the entirety of this fun match. Owens came out of the gates hot, hitting swanton bombs all over the place, inside the ring and out. The match also saw the long awaited face-off between Sami and Owens who have a long history. The two hugged it out before mutually agreeing it was time to tear each other apart. Possibly the best spot of this match came when Gunther had Sami in the sleeper, and Finn Balor went up and simultaneously hit the Coup de Grace on Sami. Later, after giving stunners out to Balor and Gunther, Kevin and Sami battled it out one last time, when KO delivered a super kick, followed it up with a stunner, and pinned his best friend to earn the number one contendership, much to the delight of the crowd. Michael Cole said it best post match, "Welcome to the KO Show." The upcoming feud between him and CM Punk should be great.

As the leading lady in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," Marilyn Monroe became one of the most famous blondes in movie history. Few stars have a signature look that's quite as iconic as Monroe's — from her makeup to her fashion sense to, of course, her blonde bob. Interestingly, though, the star went through a stunning transformation to become the Marilyn Monroe everyone recognizes. While it may be hard to believe, before she found her signature look, Monroe wasn't a natural blonde bombshell. What might be even harder to believe? She may have looked better as a brunette.
Donaldson Collection/Getty
Before the Marilyn Monroe persona and the look that came along with it were born, she was known as Norma Jean Mortenson, a brunette from Los Angeles with a difficult childhood. Dreams of stardom led Monroe to Blue Book Model Agency, where she was reportedly encouraged to give her hair a total makeover, removing her widow's peak and, of course, bleaching it blonde. From there, Monroe's blonde locks went on to become some of the most famous blonde locks ever. Yet looking at photos of her before the change shows that she looked striking with her natural brown waves, too. It's easy to see why some may have thought that the light brunette shade Monroe had wouldn't make her stand out in a crowd quite the way her blonde hair ultimately did, but it gave her a softer, warmer look.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are full steam ahead as training camp continues to roll on, with several player performances offering excitement — and concern — through two days of practice.
From two players putting together back-to-back standout performances to a second-year quarterback ending practice on a low point, here are the biggest winners and losers from Day 2 of training camp.
Wilson was already garnering buzz as one of Aaron Rodgers' top targets on Day 1, and the young receiver looked even more impressive on Day 2. The Rodgers-to-Wilson connection looks incredible through two days of practice, and it's definitely one to keep an eye on over the next month.
It was another standout day for Samuel, who made some great plays in his first practice in Latrobe. Samuel made a beautiful pass defense on a deep ball intended for Pat Freiermuth and is steadily emerging as one of Pittsburgh's top cornerbacks.
Chris Boswell looked in midseason form, and Cameron Johnston was punting bombs on the second day of practice. The veterans of the group delivered two standout special teams performances. Oh, and as an added bonus, Travis Homer was playing a big role on special teams that was last held by former All-Pro Steeler Miles Killebrew. Homer's special teams versatility could land him a spot on the 53-man roster.

Marc-André ter Stegen is one step away from becoming Ajax's new goalkeeper. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the news with his trademark "Here we go," announcing that the signing will be made official this very weekend.
The deal went through moments of uncertainty due to disagreements between the two clubs. The high salary of the German international led to a tug-of-war over what percentage of his wages each side would cover.
In the end, the financial doubts faded after the final plan was clarified with Barça and the player's camp. Both boards gave the green light after resolving the financial split that had threatened the agreement.
The transfer timeline is already set: the goalkeeper is traveling to the Netherlands today. This Saturday he will undergo the required medical examination and put pen to paper on the official contract.
"There were never any doubts," Romano declared, sealing one of the biggest bombshells of the transfer window. Ter Stegen is now beginning a new chapter between the sticks in Amsterdam, bringing his long spell in Barcelona to an end.
