Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly traveled to their Scottish residence amid news of the Sussexes' planned UK return. A source claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are not "delighted" by Prince Harry's latest move, suggesting it could be difficult for them to see the Sussexes return to the public eye while their relationship remains strained beyond repair.
Prince William and Kate Middleton joined King Charles at Balmoral with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Waleses traditionally visit the Scottish residence each year, but it remains unclear how long they will stay this time. Their visit comes amid reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to spend an extended period in the UK.
HELLO!'s royal editor Emily Nash discussed the Waleses' reported reaction to the Sussexes' return on the A Right Royal Podcast. She suggested that Prince William and Kate Middleton may not be particularly pleased by the prospect.
She explained, "Well, what is intriguing about this is the complete radio silence coming from that end of the spectrum. And what's interesting about it is that they're normally away at this time of year. I imagine they're not delighted about this."
Reflecting on the deeply strained relationship between the two couples, Nash added, "It's going to be a very, very difficult hill to climb, having them suddenly back in the UK, popping up, doing things publicly, if that's where they go with this. So much has been said and done that has damaged that relationship, almost beyond repair."

Paris St-Germain have been forced to move their opening Ligue 1 game after the summer's "exceptional heatwaves" left their Parc des Princes pitch "severely damaged".
The French champions had been due to start their ***** le defence against Rennes in the capital on Sunday, but the fixture will be reversed and held in Brittany instead.
Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) officials said an ***** sment of the pitch in Paris "did not allow the match to be played under satisfactory conditions, particularly with regard to the safety and physical integrity of the players".
PSG say they will replace the pitch at the Parc des Princes before their next home fixture against Monaco on 4 September.
The club said they "fully understand the inconvenience caused by this change" but stressed it was an "exceptional situation".

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian government on Wednesday to launch a programme to ‌rebuild commercial warehouses damaged or destroyed by Ukraine in ‌a month of targeted attacks.
Ukraine has carried out drone strikes against at least two dozen warehouses of Russia's top online retailer Wildberries since July 18, causing explosions and fires that have destroyed a large chunk of its storage capacity.
Putin, without naming the company, said a number ‌of logistic sites needed rebuilding with state involvement, and told the government to work on this.
"It is essential to ensure that the restoration of damaged facilities is carried out at a qualitatively new technological level," he said in televised comments to a conference of ministers and business leaders on the economy.
Putin said the ‌economy was growing modestly despite external pressure — a reference to Western sanctions — and despite Ukrainian attacks on industrial and infrastructure facilities.

Cameron Carter-Vickers in action during Celtic's 4-0 Premier Sports Cup win over Dundee United. Saturday 15 August. Tannadice. Photo by Vagelis Georgariou
Cameron Carter-Vickers yesterday pledged his long term future to Celtic which is a boost after losing Arne Engels last week and only retaining the services of Alistair Johnston due to another injury picked up at Rugby Park ahead of his proposed move to Everton going through.
The Canadian right-back's injury record is becoming something of a concern and may well make future suitors think twice but that is a story for another day.
CCV spoke to the media yesterday afternoon ahead of this evening's hugely important first leg in the Champions League playoff against Austrian Champions LASK at Celtic Park. The American damaged his achilles in a Europa League match at Paradise last October against Sturm Graz and that ended his season, so he spent most of his time on the treatment table with AJ.
That frustrating period on the sidelines has resulted in Carter-Vickers taking stock and realising that he is perfectly content playing his football in a Celtic jersey.

There's a lot more green at the University of Michigan Golf Course. All 18 greens at the storied course, located directly across the street from Michigan Stadium, are on the road to recovery after vandals allegedly damaged them in mid-July.
The greens at UM Golf Course were left discolored by an act of alleged "foul play" last month, forcing the grounds crew to resod the collars on all 18 holes. The course closed down the greens a few at a time. UM Golf Course told members this week that it used the incident as an opportunity to restore three of the greens to their original sizes.
UM Golf Course recently showed off before and after pictures on its Instagram.
UM Golf Course added a note that read: "RESILIENCE: the ability to withstand and bounce back from adversity. A lot of hard work, care, and determination from our team have got us to this point 4 weeks later. The work isn't done, but we're proud of the progress and grateful to everyone who has helped us get here."
UM's police department continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact UM's police department at (734) 763-1131.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — In the hills above Kabul, Sima searches for things that others have left behind. She walks through cemeteries looking for plastic, scrap and anything else that might have value. What can be sold is gathered and carried away; some of what cannot is brought home and saved as fuel for cooking or winter.
Five years after the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in August 2021, work is scarce. Sima, who believes she is about 60 but does not know her exact age, helps support her extended family. They survive largely through begging and collecting bread, scrap and recyclable waste.
Little is allowed to go to waste. Bread received from bakeries or other people can be resold cheaply to neighbors. Dry bread collected from the ground is saved and sold to livestock owners. Damaged tomatoes are dried for later, watermelon rinds become torshi, a homemade pickle, and meat received during Eid al-Adha is dried and stored for winter.
These small economies carry risks. Begging and collecting waste have been prohibited by the Taliban, and those caught can be detained. For women such as Sima, finding ways to support their families means navigating an increasingly restricted public life as well as severe poverty. Sima sometimes waits until night to beg, when she feels less exposed on Kabul's streets.
A few months ago, Diba, Sima's daughter, was detained while begging and held for three months. She had a breastfeeding baby at the time, and during her absence the family struggled to provide enough milk and suitable food for the infant. Two days after Diba was released, her baby died.

Ukraine launched hundreds of drones across Russia Sunday, killing at least six people in one of Kyiv's largest aerial attacks of the war.
Russia's Ministry of Defense said that it had destroyed 822 Ukrainian drones overnight. Some 600 drones were detected headed toward the Russian capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, with a third destroyed over the Moscow region itself.
An 83-year-old man was killed after a Ukrainian drone hit a private home in the Moscow region, local Gov. Andrey Vorobyov said. He also confirmed that a Ukrainian attack had sparked a blaze at a warehouse belonging to Russian retail giant Wildberries in the town of Podolsk, where images shared by Russian media outlets showed columns of black smoke .
A drone attack targeted three towns in Russia's southwestern Rostov region, killing five people, local Gov. Yury Slyusar said. The attack, with more than 150 drones, damaged several homes and a railway station and sparked a forest fire.
Ukraine has stepped up its attacks on Russia this year, with long-range missiles and swarms of drones increasingly targeting military industries and energy facilities. It has also increasingly pummeled giant Wildberries depots, burning billions of dollars' worth of merchandise and bringing the war home to the Russian public nearly 4½ years into Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Reigning and four-time IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou experienced a rare qualifying mistake and crashed out during qualifying for the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham on Saturday.
The 29-year-old Spaniard, who leads the 2026 IndyCar standings, was caught out during the second segment of qualifying around the newly constructed 12-turn, 2.19-mile temporary street circuit.
With roughly three minutes remaining in the Round of 12, Palou set the fastest lap in the round at 1m13.8s with his No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, but hit the wall seconds later. The impact damaged the right-front and left rear of the No. 10 Honda before Palou spun into the runoff area in Turn 10. The red flag cost Palou his two fastest laps, and dropped him to 12th in the session.
When asked what caused the crash, the championship leader took full responsibility for the error.
"I lost it," Palou said. "Lost the rear into (Turn) 10. I was pushing. I thought Group 2 (drivers from the previous round) that they were really, really fast. So I saw my 3.8 (1m13.8s lap) and I was like, 'It's alright, but not great.' I just lost the rear there. Yeah, just a shame because we had an amazing car, really fast. I mean, clearly we would have made it (into the Fast Six). But yeah, just my mistake. It was on me. I just overpushed a little bit and crashed."

Before Bernie Marcus cofounded the now-$343 billion home improvement chain Home Depot, he dreamed of becoming a doctor.
Marcus, who died in November 2024 at age 95, enrolled in pharmacy school when his family couldn't afford to send him to medical school. He would often skip classes to sell Amana freezers door-to-door, according to a memoir published by Home Depot, but he still received his degree from Rutgers University.
After college, he worked his way up through various leadership positions at manufacturing companies, and had a career-defining moment in 1978 when he was fired from a now-defunct home improvement store called Handy Dan. That's when he decided to reinvent himself and cofounded Home Depot. He was worth an estimated $11 billion when he died.
Marcus' legacy lives on, and his philanthropic foundation now nods to one of his original passions: medicine.
The Marcus Foundation, established in 1989 by Bernie and his wife, Billi, donated $28.7 million to Dr. Chuck Murry, director of the University of Southern California's Stem Cell Center, to advance clinical trials of stem cell-based therapies to regenerate damaged tissue after a heart attack.

Emergency teams in Colombia are searching desperately for survivors of an earthquake that has killed at least 281 people as the crucial window for rescues drew to a close on Thursday, with the government still only accepting help from a handful of countries.
Nearly 380 people are still missing, Colombia's agency for disaster preparedness and response said Thursday, after the quake damaged homes, schools, bridges and airports across a large swathe of the country.
"Our main efforts are focused on the missing," said President Abelardo De la Espriella in a statement late Wednesday, calling for unity.
Monday's devastating earthquake, the worst to hit Colombia in decades, posed an early test for the newly inaugurated leader. His government has surprised some by turning down or limiting help from several countries in the region, after they offered immediate ***** istance following the 7.4 magnitude quake.

Coming home to find some of your belongings have been stolen can quickly turn an ordinary day into a stressful, emotional, and financially draining experience. Fortunately, renters insurance typically covers theft, helping to replace items stolen from your home, up to your policy limits.
However, not every theft-related incident is covered the same way. Here's a closer look at what renters insurance usually covers and where coverage may fall short.
Most standard renters insurance policies cover your personal belongings if they are stolen or damaged, whether the loss occurs inside or outside your home. Covered items can include everything from electronics and furniture to clothing and sentimental keepsakes.
For example, if you return home from a trip and discover that someone has broken into your apartment and stolen your laptop, TV, and jewelry, your renters insurance may help pay to replace those items, up to your policy's coverage limits.

If there's a fire in your apartment, renters insurance can help replace any damaged items. It may also help pay for smoke-damaged items, temporary hotel stays, and certain expenses if you can't live in your rental while it's being repaired.
The biggest thing to know is that renters insurance covers your stuff, but not the building itself. So your couch, clothes, laptop, mattress, and dishes may fall under your policy, but the walls, floors, roof, and built-in appliances likely fall under your landlord's insurance.
Depending on your policy, fire damage may trigger several different parts of your renters insurance coverage at the same time.
Personal property coverage helps pay to repair or replace any items you own that were damaged as a result of a covered fire.

The Cincinnati Reds expect to learn more sometime Wednesday about the long-term prognosis of All-Star pitcher Hunter Greene after he undergoes surgery for his badly damaged elbow – specifically whether the extent of the surgery could sideline him all of next season.
Greene, who began experiencing soreness after his fifth start since returning from his first injured-list stretch this season, was to have the surgery in Los Angeles the morning of Aug. 12 with Dr. Neal ElAttrache performing the operation.
Reds schedule Chicago White Sox Forget September. The Reds are already being pushed by their August schedule
If the damage is severe enough to require Tommy John reconstruction of the ulnar collateral ligament that is all but certain to mean Greene's return to the rotation would be pushed to at least early 2028. It would be the second Tommy John surgery of his professional career (also in the minors).
A less severe outcome could mean an internal brace procedure for the UCL that typically requires less rehab time but still would mean missing most of next season.

Aug 11 (Reuters) - Seven workers were killed at a Ukrainian steel plant on Tuesday during a Russian attack on the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia in which President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Moscow used North Korean ballistic missiles.
The ‌Zaporizhstal plant was forced to suspend production after being hit as Russia pummelled Zaporizhzhia with Zircon hypersonic missiles, ‌guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles supplied by Pyongyang.
"The ballistic missile strike hit as employees were making their way to a shelter immediately after the air-raid alert was sounded," parent company Metinvest Group said in a statement that put the death toll at seven.
The attack brought production at the plant to a complete halt, and other damaged sites were operating at reduced capacity, the company said.
Regional governor Ivan Fedorov posted photos of buildings and vehicles ablaze after the strike, which also damaged four residential buildings. At least 24 people were injured. No damage ‌was reported at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

According to The Athletic's James Boyd, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce had another PRP injection in his rehabbing left ankle, which underwent minor cleanup surgery earlier this offseason:
While the timing of the second injection is unclear following surgery, it wasn't publicly disclosed by the team. That being said, Boyd later noted that the second PRP injection wasn't considered a setback by a team source. However, there's still no clear timetable for his return to the football field.
For those not in the medical field, a PRP injection is a 'platelet-rich plasma' injection to help repair damaged tissues and ease joint pain as a form of medical treatment.
The last public update we had received was from Pierce himself, when in early June, he indicated to the local media that there was a four-to-six month recovery timeline from his minor ankle surgery in late March. However, the hope was that he'd realistically return by late team training camp.
For what it's worth, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter said on 'The Pat McAfee Show' on Monday that the Colts maintain that Pierce will be ready for the regular season opener.

CALI, Colombia (AP) — A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, killing at least 111 people, damaging hundreds of buildings and leaving many trapped under debris while their loved ones and rescue workers searched through rubble.
Search teams and civilians picked through the remains of destroyed buildings in the country's third-largest city, Cali, passing large pieces of concrete and other rubble down a long line of volunteers.
"Our building has basically been left in ruins, and the building next to ours? Completely collapsed," said Álvaro López, who cradled his dog as he watched the search. The desperate scene recalled the searches still ongoing in neighboring Venezuela weeks after that country was devastated by two powerful earthquakes.
Besides Cali, the quake ravaged cities across western Colombia, including Pereira, Quibdo and Manizales, and was felt in neighboring Ecuador and Panama. The epicenter was in San Jose Del Palmar, a community of about 4,800 people in the Choco region about 250 miles (400 kilometers) west of Bogota, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
Colombia's President Abelardo de la Espriella said at least 87 people were injured and around 1,600 buildings were damaged, including at least 61 that completely collapsed. He declared an emergency to expedite funding for the quake recovery while saying he would visit the disaster zone.

Tyler Reddick didn't try to shift the blame after his race ended almost as soon as it began Sunday at Iowa Speedway.
Instead, the 23XI Racing driver took full responsibility for the Lap 4 crash that eliminated both his No. 45 Toyota and Erik Jones' No. 43 Legacy Motor Club Toyota, calling the mistake "unacceptable" after climbing from his damaged car.
The early exit marked another frustrating setback in what has become a difficult stretch for one of NASCAR's fastest drivers. Reddick entered the weekend trying to recover ground in the regular-season standings, only to see his afternoon end before the first stage was complete.
Reddick was battling Jones for position entering Turn 1 when his No. 45 Toyota suddenly broke loose. The car snapped sideways, slid up the track and slammed into Jones, sending both drivers hard into the outside wall.
Both cars suffered race-ending damage.

Ukrainian long-range drones hit a warehouse of Russia's biggest online retailer in the Ural Mountains, more than 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) from the two countries' border, local officials and the company said Friday.
Ukraine has regularly hit targets in the distant Urals this year and has even struck a Russian oil refinery in western Siberia, nearly 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles) from the border. The attacks are examples of how Kyiv has used drone innovation as a key part of its response to the invasion by its much bigger enemy more than four years ago.
Its successes have drawn international interest and drone cooperation agreements with nine countries, with further deals being negotiated with 15 other countries, according to Kyiv officials.
Wildberries said its warehouse in Yekaterinburg, Russia's fourth-largest city, was set ablaze by the attack. Most merchandise wasn't damaged, the company said, unlike at some of the more than a dozen other Wildberries depots struck by Ukraine in recent weeks that have burned down.
The regional governor, Denis Pasler, said three drones hit the warehouse's roof. Artyom Zhoga, the Kremlin's representative in the region, said that 800 people were evacuated from the warehouse and ****** ody was hurt.

German Minister of State for Culture, Wolfram Weimer, has become the first member of the federal government to call for the resignation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
"Infantino has seriously damaged world football with his planned sell-off of the World Cup," he told dpa on Saturday.
"He has lost the trust of the European football community and should not stand for re-election next year."
Infantino has been under fire since he unveiled plans worth billions to sell World Cup rights to private investors last week. Following major protests, including UEFA's threat of a World Cup boycott, the FIFA boss withdrew the proposal.
Other FAs and confederations also rejected the plans and Jordan FA president, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, said on Tuesday that they had been blackmailed when being told by FIFA they would only receive money owed to them if he voted for Intantino at next year's election.

When you move into your first college dorm or apartment, you may bring along a laptop, bike, phone, clothes, textbooks, and maybe even furniture with you. But whether you need renters insurance for college depends on where you live, whether you're already covered under a parent's policy, and how much it would cost to replace your stuff.
If you're living in an on-campus dorm or fraternity or sorority house, you may already have some coverage under a parent's homeowners or renters insurance policy.
If you're renting an apartment or house off campus, you're more likely to need your own renters insurance policy. In fact, some landlords require it before you can move in.
Even when it's optional, renters insurance can be worth it. Burglaries account for about 28% of reported on-campus crimes, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. If your laptop, phone, bike, clothes, and textbooks get stolen or damaged, replacing everything out of pocket would be pricey.

Fifteen competitors jumped from the 22-meter-high bridge near Gjakova, aiming to impress judges with their technique as they plunged into the river below.
The event, known as Ura e Fshejte, was first held in 1954 but was suspended during the 1998–1999 Kosovo war after the bridge was damaged.
It returned in 2014 and continues to draw participants and spectators from across the region.
