Around 57% of households have some type of unsecured debt, including credit cards and personal loans. This debt can be a financial burden because borrowers must make monthly payments and cover interest.
Once you've taken on debt, you're committed to paying it back. Otherwise, you could hurt your credit score and face collection activity. But what happens if the company you borrowed from runs into financial trouble and goes out of business? Does that mean your debt disappears?

Americans are increasingly falling victim to so-called "ghost charges": small, frictionless payment purchases at Starbucks or McDonald's, or digital subscription deductions from your bank account you forgot about. The costs may only be $5 or $10 a pop, but they add up, and before you know it, $200 has disappeared from your savings every month.

A recent study from Cashews, a digital bank tracking platform for serial small recurring charges, shows that 61% of people have more than $50 a month in these small charges; 38.7% have more than $100 a month; and 14.5% have more than $200 a month in charges where no single charge is over $100. Additionally, three of the median person's four small recurring monthly charges go to merchants they never otherwise interact with.

You've been working for decades and are eagerly anticipating your retirement years, when you'll finally be free to do whatever you want — whether that's travel, golfing, hiking or volunteering.
But while you may be looking forward to ending your worklife, you may not have yet created a strong enough plan. A 2026 study from the Employee Benefit Research Institute, for instance, found that only half of retirees rated their household financial well-being as at least very good, while two in five said healthcare costs have been higher than they expected. Two in five also said their overall spending in retirement was more than they expected.

Sunny, low-tax states like Florida, South Carolina and Nevada have become a magnet for U.S. retirees, with Florida alone placing four cities in the top 10 WalletHub's Best Places to Retir survey. Scottsdale, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada also placed in the top 12 slots in the survey.
Relocation and family finance experts say retirees are drawn to sunnier, usually southern U.S. locales not only due to the warmer climate, but for a lower, or no, tax-rate. Now, data is showing that many retirees are finding their new states bring countering cost of living issues to the buffet table, most notably homeowners ****** ociation fees and sky-high home insurance rates.

While he stepped down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway at the end of last year, Warren Buffett's wealth, and thus his portfolio, is still tied to the conglomerate and its stock portfolio. On that end, Berkshire's top-three positions -- consisting of Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), American Express (NYSE: AXP), and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (Nasdaq) -- make up more than half of its equity portfolio.
All three are strong compounding businesses with wide moats, but which looks like the best of the group to buy today? Let's take a look at each.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Apple is Berkshire's largest holding, making up about 22% of its portfolio. The stock is a Buffett favorite because it has one of the best compounding business models out there.
Apple, of course, is best known for its iPhone and other devices. Smartphones and computers tend to have very predictable replacement cycles, which creates an almost recurring type of revenue stream for the company. However, the beauty of the business stems from its closed-garden ecosystem that helps lock in consumers, from which it then collects high-margin service revenue. This revenue comes from a variety of sources, including a search revenue-sharing deal with Alphabet, commissions on app downloads, Apple Pay, and subscriptions for things like cloud storage.

Aristotle International Equity Fund, sub-advised by Aristotle Capital Management, LLC, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. Global equity markets reached record highs in Q2, with the MSCI ACWI Index rising 14.93%, while global fixed income grew modestly by 0.87%. Geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East, affected energy markets and investor sentiment, highlighting volatility and fragility in global supply. Central banks reacted variably to inflationary pressures, with the ECB raising rates amidst concerns of stagflation, while the Fed and Bank of England held rates steady. Despite economic challenges, robust earnings continued in Europe and Asia, driven by AI infrastructure demand. The Aristotle International Equity Fund (Class I-2) recorded an 8.40% return in the quarter, underperforming both the MSCI EAFE Index, which returned 10.82%, and the MSCI ACWI ex USA Index, which returned 14.49%. Going forward, the fund remains focused on quality investments as geopolitical and macroeconomic complexities make forecasting returns challenging. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Aristotle International Equity Fund highlighted Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL). Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) is a British consumer goods giant, that sell products across food, homecare, beauty, and personal care categories. On September 17, 2026, Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) closed at $62.22 per share. Over the past month, Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) declined 2.99%, but its shares are down 5.09% over the past year. Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) has a market capitalization of $133.98 billion, and its stock has traded within a 52-week range of $54.75 to $74.98.
Aristotle International Equity Fund stated the following regarding Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We first invested in Unilever PLC (NYSE:UL), the global consumer staples company, in the second quarter of 2013. We have long been attracted to the company's broad portfolio of leading personal care and food brands (such as Dove, Knorr and Axe), global scale, significant emerging markets exposure and strong position across everyday use categories. Over our more than decade-long holding period, Unilever strengthened and simplified its portfolio, divesting lower-growth food ***** ets, improving efficiency, increasing focus behind its largest brands and shifting the business toward faster-growing, higher-margin beauty, wellbeing, personal care and home care categories. More recently, the separation of the ice cream business and continued reshaping of the food portfolio have further narrowed Unilever's strategic focus. While we continue to view the remaining Unilever franchise as high quality, we believe the more compelling opportunity now resides in the independent ice cream business, where dedicated management and a category-specific strategy should provide a clearer pa

The internet has never been short on financial advice. There's an endless parade of experts online promising the next stock, cryptocurrency or investing strategy could be the one that makes your net worth "go to the moon."
The problem is that most people aren't spending their days watching the markets, studying compnay balance sheets or trying to time the perfect trade (which is difficult even for the savviest investor). And when complicated investing advice gets repackaged into a 30-second video, following it without fully understanding the risks can turn into an expensive lesson for investors.

In the early 2000s, house-flipping was the get-rich-quick trend that seemingly everyone with enough liquidity wanted to try their hand at. It was popularized by TV shows like Flip This House that showcased fixer-upper success stories and took viewers along for the ride.
Though the heyday ended with the 2008 housing crash, the practice was revived in the COVID-era housing lull and remains popular even now, despite not being as profitable as it once was given rising real estate, material, and labour costs. One way around those realities is to take advantage of the speculative nature of certain properties so a flip doesn't have to involve much renovation work (or any at all, if you're lucky).

Maybe it's a me thing, but I've been craving the thrill and suspense of an award show. Luckily, tonight is the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, where NBC's Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay is hosting live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. As a self-proclaimed binge-watcher, I'm all caught up on tonight's nominees, led by The Pitt with 25 nominations and Hacks at 24, breaking the record for a comedy series to date. But it's not just the potential winners getting buzz; it's the red carpet arrivals, too.
We're tuning in to see which designers tonight's attendees are wearing and get a glimpse of which trends will define 2027—or, in this case, which controversial trends. Shailene Woodley, who won her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Hulu's Paradise last week, arrived on tonight's red carpet in a look from Pierpaolo Piccioli's Balenciaga F/W 26 haute couture collection.
The trend in question? Sequin-embroidered trousers. Woodley wore the divisive pants with their runway pairing, a plunging periwinkle tank, but traded the oversize coat for a pair of burgundy opera gloves. Woodley's stylist, Karla Welch, introduced more color with a beautiful collared necklace crafted from Venetian glass by HOWL. The flooded hem hides Woodley's, I ***** ume, very tall heels.

Taylor Swift brought chic retro energy to Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs. Sitting in her VIP luxury box, the music superstar commanded total attention with her preppy game-day style. She effortlessly elevated classic stadium fashion into a high-fashion moment.
For the exciting matchup against the Denver Broncos, Swift chose a sporty yet high-end knit ensemble. She wore the "Gingham Polo Dress" in Scarlet and Mist from Gigi Hadid's luxury knitwear brand, Guest in Residence. The $236 piece features a vibrant red and cream checkered pattern, a soft ribbed collar, and three small ***** ons at the neck. The short-sleeved cashmere dress fits snugly around her upper body before ending high on her legs in a flirty micro length.
Swift cheered enthusiastically throughout the game alongside friends and family. As highlighted in a popular Instagram post, the pop icon opted for effortless, preppy game-day styling. The bold scarlet checks perfectly matched the Kansas City Chiefs' iconic team colors. She leaned forward near the suite's glass partition, watching every play on the field while high-fiving her companions and celebrating every big play.
The pop star complemented the retro polo minidress with sleek accessories and her signature beauty choices. She wore her warm blonde hair down in soft, touchable waves with her iconic blunt bangs framing her face. Minimal eye makeup, glowing skin, and a classic bright red lipstick completed her game-day look. The vibrant lip color mirrored the bold red checks on her cashmere dress. She kept her jewelry simple, wearing delicate gold rings and small hoop earrings.
By pairing cozy luxury knitwear with a leg-baring micro length, Taylor Swift proved that stadium fashion can feel comfortable, flirty, and thoroughly modern. She continues to set fashion trends from the football stands, seamlessly blending elevated designer pieces with casual sports fandom.

Earlier today, it was announced via the official PSU Football social media accounts that the Nittany Lions will face the Badgers at Beaver Stadium in a 5:00 PM EST kickoff that will be streaming on Peacock.
Understandably, this is frustrating news for those who don't already have a Peacock subscription and don't feel like plunking down additional money for another monthly streaming subscription just to watch one game. That being said, games that air on Peacock also air simultaneously on NBC Sports Network, a channel that is readily available on Comcast Xfinity, YouTubeTV, and Fubo. So, if you already are a subscriber to one of those aforementioned streaming services, you should be good to go.
The last time these two teams collided was on October 26th, 2024, when PSU went into Camp Randall Stadium for a nighttime showdown that saw Beau Pribula step in for an injured Drew Allar after halftime and along with a pick-six by Jaylen Reed and some strong running from Kaytron Allen, help guide the Nittany Lions to a 28-13 win to keep their College Football Playoff hopes intact.
