Hayden Panettiere's 11-year-old daughter Kaya appeared by video at a court hearing in Los Angeles Thursday, Oct. 8, as her father, Wladimir Klitschko, won permission to enlist police in recovering missing property. This allegedly includes jewelry "misappropriated" from the late Nashville star's estate.
Kaya spoke first at the hearing, politely greeting the judge from a seat in front of a set of curtains. "Was that you, Kaya?" the judge asked. "Yes, that was me," she replied. Her dad said he was with her using the same account, so he only had an audio connection. They then turned off Kaya's camera as Klitschko's lawyer explained what they were requesting.

Dolly Parton's estate says yellow caution tape and barbed wire crisscrossed the steps to her nephew Bryan Seaver's front door as a process server was making repeated attempts to serve him with a lawsuit accusing him of using a "campaign of threats" to "extract money" from the late music icon's business interests.
Lawyers for the estate filed a photo of the alleged barricade as they urged a judge to deny Seaver's request for additional time to find a lawyer in the messy legal dispute. They also argued that Seaver's security company missed a deadline last week to challenge an emergency restraining order granted in the case, so the order should therefore be converted into a permanent injunction covering both the company and Seaver himself, as its chief. A hearing on the matter is set for Friday, Oct. 9, unless the court grants Seaver's request for more time to hire an attorney.

The woman who alleges she was drugged and raped by multiple members of a Cornell University fraternity in October 2024 told one of the accused men in a recorded phone call weeks later that she was "10 shots deep" when she arrived at the Chi Phi house and was now struggling to remember what had caused "so much damage on my body and brain."
"The only way for me to heal is to know what happened," the woman, identified as "Jane Doe" in a civil lawsuit, said during a Nov. 7, 2024, call, according to audio obtained by ABC News. "That's why I'm trying to just piece it together, you know, like I'm just like confused."
During the call, the Chi Phi fraternity member told her that she consented to having a threesome with him and another fraternity brother.
He also insisted that Jane Doe had told him she had not been drinking when she showed up.
"You did tell me you were sober, by the way," he said. "You said you hadn't been anywhere."

It was a night of devastation in Chatsworth that began with a deadly Metro bus collision and ended with the fiery crash of an NBC4 helicopter covering the news that left two journalists and, on the ground, a bystander dead.
Tuesday's scene was a mixture of confusion and chaos, with first responders fanned out across two catastrophes and television news teams desperately trying to find out whether their journalists were safe. The crashes claimed the lives of five people and left others with various degrees of injury.
Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were trying Wednesday to determine exactly what caused the news helicopter, a Eurocopter AS350 B2, to go down.
NTSB Investigator Fabian Salazar said officials are searching through the wreckage, combing through maintenance logbooks, security footage, weather reports and witness interviews, and reviewing the pilot's training to figure out what went wrong.
But the most critical information so far has been audio captured from the helicopter during a live broadcast of reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw's final moments before it crashed.

Prosper Stars & Stripes stated the following regarding Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"This year's market rally has pressured short returns and narrowed the windows to successfully monetize shorts, as we would expect. Certain themes and short ideas do continue to resonate, however. One theme that has had success is the ongoing pressure caused by the investment boom in AI crowding out spending in other areas. We have shorted Universal Display Corp (OLED), Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB), and Logitech International (LOGI) on this theme. We believe cost pressures on technology components such as DRAM to result in higher prices for consumer electronics. This would have a significant impact on back-to-school and holiday spending, the key periods for these companies' end markets. We expect the forecasts that these companies are providing at this time of the year to prove optimistic, as tech cost inflation is unusual. Further, we believe the so-called K-shaped economy, where consumers have felt the pressure of rising costs of living, will continue to squeeze discretionary purchases like these. Gennaro Gattuso is proud of his Lazio side after their 2-2 draw with Milan, claiming that "seeing the team not give up pleases me," as he comments that the empty Stadio Olimpico makes it "feel like the COVID period" as Biancocelesti fans continue to protest against owner Claudio Lotito.
The Aquile thought that they were on track for the perfect start to the Serie A season, as they were leading 2-0 at half-time through Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin goals.
Speaking to DAZN, via TuttoMercatoWeb, Gennaro Gattuso was left frustrated but not despondent by the collapse. It would've been four wins out of four, but Diego Moreira came off the bench and scored twice in 120 seconds to get Milan back on track.
"In the second half, they came out with their quality," Gattuso said. "Playing the way we want to play for 90 minutes is hard, we dropped deep at the start of the second half and we struggled. That is also understandable because we conceded two goals I would describe as wonder strikes. We were also good not to get hammered, the feeling was that we could have conceded another two."
Lazio have never in their history started with four consecutive Serie A victories, and that record won't happen this season either, as Milan came back for the 2-2 result. Gattuso, though, took encouragement from how his players reacted to letting a two-goal lead slip.

BOSTON (AP) — The highest court in Massachusetts on Thursday issued a public reprimand against a district court judge who was accused of allowing an immigrant to escape U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.
The case dates back to 2018 when Judge Shelley Joseph was accused of colluding with the immigrant's attorney and a court officer to allow him to escape out a back door of the courthouse after a hearing on charges that included drug possession.
The decision by the Supreme Judicial Court follows a recommendation for the reprimand by a hearing officer for the Commission on Judicial Conduct. It concluded that Joseph created the appearance of impropriety and failed to comply with the law.
"The respondent's statements during that conversation, including her proposal to detain (the immigrant) overnight in State custody, and her conduct in instructing the clerk to turn off the court room audio recording system, created an appearance of impropriety in violation of her duties," according to the Supreme Judicial Court ruling.
Joseph's attorney, Elizabeth Mulvey, argued at the commission hearing last year that the case had been distorted over time and that everyone had come to believe that her client "let an illegal immigrant out of the door" with half the public believing she should be jailed and the other half calling her a "folk hero."

Fifteen years, hundreds of matches, goals, victories and star players. Since its opening in September 2011, the Stadium has become Juventus' home and one of the iconic venues in the club's recent history. These fifteen years can also be told through the numbers.
The Men's First Team have played 389 official matches at the Stadium, recording 282 wins, 76 draws and just 31 defeats. That's a win rate of over 72 per cent.
In these matches, Juventus have scored 778 goals, conceded 265 and kept a clean sheet on 195 occasions: practically one clean sheet every two matches.
Serie A naturally accounts for the largest share, with 287 matches, followed by the UEFA Champions League with 59, the Italian Cup with 35 and the UEFA Europa League with 8.
The first official goal was scored by Stephan Lichtsteiner against Parma on 11 September 2011. A few weeks later, on 2 October against Milan, the first brace at the Stadium was scored by Claudio Marchisio.

Pakistan's troubled England tour has taken another unexpected turn, with the Pakistan Cricket Board reportedly taking mobile phones belonging to members of the national team into its custody ahead of the third and final Test at Edgbaston.

According to Pakistani 365 News, the players' devices have been handed over to the PCB and will remain with the board until the conclusion of the final Test. The report did not reveal the identities of the players whose phones were taken, while the PCB has not publicly stated why the devices were placed in its custody.

The development has raised questions about the extent of the authorities' powers over players' personal devices, particularly regarding when phones can be seized, retained or accessed and what safeguards apply to private communications.
Mobile phones are already subject to strict restrictions in international cricket, particularly inside areas designated as restricted during matches.

Under the ICC's Player and Match Officials Area regulations, players and support staff are not permitted to possess or use mobile phones or other communication devices inside restricted areas, including dressing rooms, during an international match.

Players are expected to place their devices in secure storage before entering such areas. The primary purpose of these regulations is to protect the integrity of international matches and prevent unauthorised communication.

However, those match-day restrictions are separate from a situation in which a player's personal phone is retained for an extended period.

The ICC Anti-Corruption Code gives authorised anti-corruption officials considerably broader powers when a formal integrity investigation is underway.

Under the code, an authorised anti-corruption official can make a written demand requiring a participant to surrender a mobile device or allow investigators to copy or download information from it when there are reasonable grounds to believe the material could be relevant to an investigation.

The information potentially covered by such a request is wide-ranging. It can include telephone and internet records, text messages, WhatsApp conversations, photographs, videos, audio files and other electronically stored documents.

Participants can also be required to provide passwords or access codes needed by investigators to obtain the relevant material.

A failure to comply with a legitimate demand during an anti-corruption investigation can itself result in disciplinary action.
Despite the ICC's provisions, the reported decision by the PCB to take possession of the players' phones does not, by itself, establish that an anti-corruption investigation is taking place.

There has been no confirmation that the PCB's action in England is connected to an integrity investigation involving corruption, betting or match-fixing. No player has been publicly accused of an integrity offence either.

There is also a distinction between the ICC's jurisdic

DAZN referee expert Luca Marelli has offered his **** sment on a series of controversial refereeing calls that overshadowed Inter's thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Napoli on Saturday evening.
Referee Simone Sozza found himself at the center of several heated moments at the San Siro and Inter players were left furious when Napoli's Stanislav Lobotka appeared to handle the ball during a challenge with Nicolò Barella inside the penalty box. Play was allowed to continue without a VAR intervention, leading directly to Matteo Politano's opener for the visitors on the counter-attack.

Reviewing the incident on DAZN, with quotes via Sportal, Marelli admitted the footage remained inconclusive: "There are many doubts. It is impossible to tell for sure whether there was contact, even though his arm was extended. Looking at all the available footage, you simply cannot determine if he touches it with his hand or not."
The officiating remained under the spotlight late into the second half. In the 82nd minute, Marcus Thuram headed home Inter's equaliser while Napoli defender Amir Rrahmani lay grounded directly in front of goalkeeper Alex Meret. Sozza allowed the goal to stand, deeming that Rrahmani had gone down too softly rather than as the result of a foul by an opposition player.
