Jed York's weekend arrest wasn't the first time San Francisco 49ers ownership has found itself on the wrong side of the law – though, ironically, those past legal missteps are largely why York finds himself in such a prominent position now.
York, 46, who pleaded no contest Monday, Aug. 24, to two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools in Columbiana County, Ohio, after a charge of "engaging in prostitution" was reduced, was, until recently, the NFL's youngest principal owner. That track largely became available to him starting in 2000, when his uncle, Pro Football Hall of Famer Eddie DeBartolo Jr., relinquished control of the team to his sister Denise DeBartolo York (Jed York's mother) and brother-in-law John York (Jed York's father).
Prior to that, DeBartolo was widely perceived as an owner whom stars throughout the league wanted to play for given his demand for championship football – the 49ers won five Super Bowls between the 1981 and 1994 seasons, none since – but also his willingness to spare no expense while caring for the members of his roster. (The Niners would eventually be hit with nearly $1 million in fines and forfeited a fifth-round draft pick in 2001 plus a third-rounder in 2002 after the NFL found them guilty of circumventing the salary cap, which came into existence in 1994, during a 1999 investigation.)
But DeBartolo's legal issues away from football ultimately drove him from the league. He pleaded guilty to one felony charge of failing to report an alleged extortion attempt in 1998 amid his attempt to obtain a riverboat gambling license in Louisiana. Former state governor Edwin Edwards allegedly attempted to extract $400,000 from DeBartolo amid his bid for the license. The NFL fined DeBartolo $1 million and suspended him for the 1999 season due to his involvement with Edwards, who was imprisoned on racketeering charges in 2002.
As for DeBartolo, who entered the Hall of Fame in 2016 and remains close to his former players – he presented former Niners coach Bill Walsh plus team and NFL legends Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Fred Dean and Charles Haley as they went into Canton – he never returned to the team as its controlling owner following the suspension.

When someone asks me to name the best semiconductor stock to buy for now and the next few years, my answer is Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA). I look at plenty of other chip names, including Broadcom and Advanced Micro Devices, yet I keep coming back to Nvidia because it sits at the center of how artificial intelligence (AI) is built and used, not just at the edge of the hardware market.
The core of the story is Nvidia's data center business. In the most recent fiscal year (ended Jan. 25, 2026), Nvidia reported quarterly data center revenue of $62.3 billion, up 75% year over year, and full-year data center sales are expected to be in the neighborhood of $180 billion. These are massive numbers and show that data centers are the main engine for the company. When hyperscalers and enterprises decide how many AI clusters to build, they start with Nvidia's platform, then layer everything else around it.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
The company's platform is not just about a single AI chip. The company's Blackwell architecture connects hundreds of billions of transistors, custom interconnects, and massive pools of memory into unified graphics processing units (GPUs), then scales those GPUs into rack-level systems like GB200 and GB300 that act like giant accelerators. On top of those systems sit DGX SuperPODs, Grace CPUs, and software like CUDA and TensorRT that developers already know and trust. When I picture the AI factories that companies are building, I see Nvidia in the center of the blueprints.
All the above is the technical side. The psychological side matters, too. Nvidia has become the default AI stock for many investors. It is the ticker people think of when they hear about new models, new data centers, or new AI enterprise rollouts. **** ysts often mention Nvidia first when discussing AI infrastructure, and the stock still carries a broad buy rating and targets pointing to meaningful upside from current levels. That attention can create volatility, yet it also means the company gets a steady stream of capital and scrutiny, which pushes management to keep delivering.

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in Ohio over the weekend for trying to pay a prostitute a little over $100, according to police.
York, a 46-year-old married executive, was taken into custody Sunday at a trailer park in East Palestine and was initially charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended the charge to disorderly conduct. The NFL owner is originally from Youngstown, Ohio, about a 30-minute drive from where he was arrested.
He ended up pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
York's arrest came after he answered an ad on a known prostitution website in Columbiana County and "arranged to have ******* ual activity with the female in exchange for $140.00," the California Post reported, citing court documents.
He then went to the trailer park to meet up with the woman, and an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force found York had his cellphone on him "which was used to arrange the criminal act," according to the documents.

The SGA Global Growth Portfolio returned 7.4% gross and 7.2% net, compared with 14.9% for the MSCI ACWI and 19.8% for the MSCI ACWI Growth Index. Momentum leadership and enthusiasm around AI infrastructure drove markets, with semiconductor, memory, and hardware stocks accounting for much of the gain. Although the portfolio owned AI beneficiaries, broader holdings lagged despite fundamentals, as median revenue and EPS growth reached 12% and 14% and more than 60% of the holdings beat expectations. SGA believes valuation compression reflects sentiment rather than weaker business quality, leaving the portfolio near its widest discount to the market since inception. The firm continues to favor durable compounders and expects 16% revenue growth and 20% earnings growth over three years. In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, SGA Global Growth Strategy highlighted Linde plc (NASDAQ:LIN) as a new holding. SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Linde plc (NASDAQ:LIN) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Linde plc (NASDAQ:LIN), the world's largest industrial gas company, was added to the portfolio in April. We had previously exited the position in 2024 due to valuation considerations and forced attrition; since then, the stock price has consolidated while fundamentals continued to progress. Linde remains an attractive long-term investment, supported by a highly durable business model and meaningful structural advantages. A large share of revenue is generated from long-term, recurring customer contracts in essential end markets, providing strong pricing power and cash flow visibility even in a slower growth environment. The company's strengths are rooted in its production efficiency and broad exposure across diverse end markets, including healthcare, manufacturing, electronics, chemicals, and energy.
Looking ahead, Linde is well-positioned to benefit from structural improvements and a potential acceleration in global growth across several of its core markets over the medium term. The U.S., which accounts for roughly 45% of revenue, is likely to see improved growth driven by an industrial recovery, increased semiconductor manufacturing, and higher refinery utilization. Europe (approximately 25% of revenue) has been a headwind in recent years due to negative volume growth, but is expected to stabilize over the medium term, with the potential for mo

SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Salesforce was a detractor from performance during the quarter as investor sentiment remained cautious following another quarter that merely met its guidance targets. Current remaining performance obligations (cRPO) growth were in line at roughly 9% rather than the historical pattern of beating by about a point, and the forward quarter guide was modest. Management acknowledged continued weakness in Marketing, Commerce, and Tableau (roughly 20% of revenue), partially offset by strength in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Slack, and Data Cloud (roughly 75% to 80% of revenue), with Sales and Service Cloud each posting seat growth in the quarter. Additionally, Agentforce annualized recurring revenue reached $1.2 billion, growing 205%. Management reiterated full-year guidance and a second-half reacceleration based on bookings strength and lower attrition, alongside a long-term double-digit organic growth target through CY29 with about 100 basis points of annual margin expansion. Despite concerns around AI‑driven competition, we believe Salesforce's integration into customer business processes, large installed base, and wide product set position it well to compete effectively in the Agentic AI era, supporting low-teens earnings growth over the next three years. "A position in Equinix, a leading global data center provider, was initiated during the quarter. The company sells **** e, power, and connectivity services across a global footprint, binding strategic clients to its facilities through interconnection and coplacement for low-latency and high-bandwidth services. Equinix is a familiar name for SGA, having been a portfolio holding for ten years before being sold in 2024 as the growth rate had slowed and management was in the midst of a leadership transition. SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Alcon Inc. (NYSE:ALC) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"During the quarter, we exited our position in Alcon Inc. (NYSE:ALC). Alcon remains a leader in eye care with exposure to increasing secular demand driven by aging and myopia, with market leadership across multiple categories. Strong launches in new equipment and eye drops drove topline growth of 6% constant currency and earnings per share growth of 16%+ in Q1. This was slightly below expectations of 7% growth, as the market for cataracts and contact lenses remains subdued. Additionally, the premium intraocular lens for cataracts is getting more competitive, with Alcon remaining the leader but expected to continue to cede share from the highs of 80%+ as competitors are catching up. Management continues to execute well on product launches to offset pressures in intraocular lens, which accounts for 17% of total sales. However, to account for the increased competition and subdued market conditions overall, we gradually reduced the position before ultimately redeploying the capital into a higher growth opportunity in Schneider Electric."

SGA Global Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We liquidated our position in Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) during the quarter. Following the company's fiscal third quarter results, we became increasingly concerned with the DIY Tax weakness, continued deterioration in Mailchimp, and reduced visibility on the timing of any growth reacceleration, as well as management's ability to execute in a challenging environment. Intuit was a detractor from performance during the quarter. The company reported fiscal third quarter results that included a modest revenue beat and a full-year guidance increase, though results were overshadowed by weaker than expected Consumer Tax performance. TurboTax revenue grew 7%, below guidance, with notable weakness in the DIY segment. Management cited pressure among lower income, price sensitive filers and a contraction in total IRS filers of roughly 30 basis points. Despite double-digit revenue growth and ongoing margin expansion above 40%, we became increasingly concerned with the DIY Tax weakness, continued deterioration in Mailchimp, and reduced visibility on the timing of any growth reacceleration, as well as management's ability to execute in a challenging environment. AVGO and MRVL both carry AI premiums, yet QCOM's forward P/E of 16 and EV/EBITDA of 13 make it the cheaper data center bet.
Act now: the ****** yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Qualcomm didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
Wall Street prices Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) like a handset company facing a slow Apple exit. Our model sees a diversified semiconductor platform with a credible path into the data center, priced at a discount to its earnings power.
The 24/7 Wall St. price target for Qualcomm is $226.05 over the next 12 months, implying 41.14% upside from the current $160.61 quote. Our recommendation is buy, with a high confidence level of 90%.

The AI infrastructure build-out is particularly supportive, as hyperscalers require not only more chips, but increasingly complex and advanced architectures, materially increasing equipment intensity across the manufacturing process. As a result, these companies have been printing strong quarterly earnings reports. Lam, which specialises in etch and deposition, has been supported by accelerating DRAM and high-bandwidth memory demand, resilient China revenues, and faster-than-expected

Karen Attiah must be reinstated by The Washington Post and receive back pay after an arbitrator ruled the newspaper lacked sufficient cause to fire the opinion columnist over her social media posts following the ******* assination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Arbitrator Sarah Miller Espinosa found the Post "did not have good and sufficient cause" to terminate Attiah and failed to establish that she engaged in "gross misconduct," according to a decision obtained by The New York Times. Attiah was fired by the Post in September after posting about Kirk's killing on Bluesky.
"This decision confirms what we've said from the start: I was doing my job as an opinion writer, and this was wrongful termination," Attiah said in a statement, adding that she was "relieved to finally have that record set straight."
Attiah told the Times that she was "willing to go back" to the Post, which she called "one of the world's most storied newspapers." A Washington Post spokeswoman told the Times that the company respects the arbitration process and declined to comment further.
Attiah was fired after posting on Bluesky about the reaction to Kirk's ******* assination. In one post, she wrote, "Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is … not the same as violence."

Avoiding weaker Utilities, Materials, and Energy also supported relative performance. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.

It designs and sells a broad portfolio of AI-optimised processors and networking chips, positioning itself as a full-stack solutions provider across cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining strong competitive positioning in PC and gaming endmarkets. AMD has notably closed the performance gap with Nvidia in recent years, driven by targeted acquisitions and sustained software investment. The Helios platform, built on AMD's acquisition of systems integrator ZT Systems, is AMD's first rack-scale system unifying graphical processing units (GPUs), computer processing units (CPUs) and Pensando networking into a frontier AI infrastructure solution, and should be a material growth driver from 2027 onwards. AMD is also structurally advantaged by a shift in data centre computational architecture. Its EPYC server CPUs offer industryleading performance-per-dollar and have taken substantial share from Intel in enterprise and cloud deployments. The rapid build-out of AI infrastructure is driving demand for high

Guinness Global Innovators Fund stated the following regarding Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX), the streaming giant, was one of the Fund's weaker performers over the quarter, following a harsh share price reaction to its last quarterly print. Shares sold off despite strong organic growth driven by strong membership numbers, higher pricing, and increased advertising revenue. There was also a boost to earnings per share from the termination fee related to Paramount's merger with Warner Bros, as Netflix had previously been in talks to acquire the latter's studio and streaming ******* ets. However, the market was disappointed by Netflix choosing to maintain guidance for 2026 despite the positive momentum seen in the first quarter. This was taken as a potential indicator of growth deceleration in future quarters, with some questioning whether Netflix can sustain pricing power given the increases it has already pushed through the subscriber base. The U.S. Treasury is considering using its near-$950 billion General Account to help fund its recently announced bond buyback program, according to CNBC, citing two senior Treasury officials. The officials said the account is considered available for purchases of off-the-run securities but declined to specify how much, if any, would be used or when an announcement might come.
The TGA, which functions as the federal government's primary operating account at the Federal Reserve, stood at roughly $950 billion as of the officials' comments — a figure that dwarfs the $550 to $600 billion level that the Biden administration had aimed to maintain. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent built the balance to its current level, and officials said it is funded with existing tax collections.
The prevailing expectation in markets was that the purchases would be paid for through new short-term bill sales, an approach Bessent labeled a "Treasury Twist" during a CNBC appearance last week. The senior officials did not rule out that approach, but made clear the TGA represents an additional potential funding source.
Tapping the TGA could counter doubts expressed by ******* ysts who have argued that the program lacks the scale to exert any real influence on long-term yields. Since the buyback announcement last week, bonds had retreated from an initial rally, pushing yields higher.
Officials indicated they do not view a partial TGA drawdown as creating any near-term cash management problem. Current projections put the next debt-ceiling bind sometime between next winter and early spring, which officials said provides a reasonable window to restore the balance before any constraint bites. Should the Treasury choose to hold the TGA near its current level after using some funds for buybacks, it would need to conduct additional debt sales to restore the account.
