After releasing Arthur Melo, the Bianconeri will bid farewell to Fabio Miretti. He'll move to Besiktas, like Dusan Vlahovic, on a loan with a conditional obligation to buy. The Old Lady also completed Michele Di Gregorio's exit and Kamil Grabara's arrival, with a temporary formula with a €12M acquisition clause. Instead, Mattia Perin transferred to Palermo on a €500k move.
On the other hand, the recent departures don't suffice yet for Juventus to really step up their Kessié pursuit. They have to find a solution for the burdensome Teun Koopmeiners, Jonathan David, and Nicolas Gonzalez. Juan Cabal and Arkadiusz Milik are also on the chopping block.
In the meantime, Roma have shown some interest in the Ivorian powerhouse, who broke out under Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta. They have skirted the Manchester United threat for Manu Koné, as the Red Devils completed their midfield with Carlos Baleba. Other sides could be keen on him, but Neil El Aynaoui is a more precarious spot now.
They shouldn't waste any more time and should sign him in after managing to have a hold on him for so long, and worry about the departures later. Koopmeiners is the main Gordian knot, but there may also be issues with his personal terms. It's been a while since the capital club signed a veteran with bloated wages, even though Gasperini surely wouldn't mind.

Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović is still without a club despite reports saying he wanted to make a decision by the end of last week. Barcelona remain his dream destination according to rumor, but the only club to have made a solid proposal that matches his demands is Beşiktaş.
Vlahović left Juventus after the Italians refused to acquiesce to his salary and signing bonus demands. He's tested the open market and found top European clubs such as Barça and Atlético Madrid were willing to speak to him, but less willing to actually sign him.

With other options such as Julián Alvarez looking increasingly likely, there is a line of thought that says Vlahović to Barcelona is the compromise that's just a matter of time. But the biggest hurdle to overcome is a lack of enthusiasm for the signing from the Catalans' part. If they were truly keen, they could have snapped him up any time.

The rumors have been swirling for what seems like months, but we're finally on the cusp of answering the question.
Juventus' two big new attacking signings are mere steps away from their respective "officially official" articles. Attacking midfielder Kerim Alajbegovic arrived at Caselle Airport on Saturday afternoon, and reportedly headed straight to J Medical for his medical. The Bosnian international was accompanied by his countryman and former Juve midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Alajbegovic, who won't turn 19 until September, has already been capped 14 times by Bosnia and Herzegovina, scoring twice, including against Qatar in the group stage of the World Cup this summer. He played at RB Salzburg last year, scoring 13 times in 44 games in all competitions. That prompted Bayer Leverkusen to buy him back from the Austrian side, looking to make a quick profit on excellent professional debut. Leverkusen had made an agreement with Chelsea, but Alajbegovic rejected the deal over concerns about playing time. The deal is reportedly for €33 million plus another €7 million in bonuses, and Luciano Spalletti has already intimated that he'll be the team's trequartista in the coming season.

Thursday's reports claim that Juventus are open to the idea of welcoming Dusan Vlahovic back to the club after the expiry of his contract on June 30, but only on the conditions laid out by the club's new CEO Giovanni Carnevali.

It’s hardly a surprise but now it’s official. Fiorentina announced this morning that Lucas Beltrán has been loaned to River Plate for a €500,000 fee with an obligatory purchase option around €6.5 million, according to Diario Olé. Cesar Luis Merlo adds that the Viola will get 50% of his next move. Beltrán has signed a contract that runs until 2030 and has already linked up with River in Alicante for preseason training.
It’s a disappointing close to a chapter that opened with major expectations. Beltrán was bought from River back in 2023 for €20 million with the expectation that he’d fill the Dušan Vlahović-shaped hole at center forward. While he was sporadically productive—a string of 7 games straight with a goal or ***** ist in 2024—it became immediately apparent that he isn’t a traditional center forward so much as an energetic number 10. He pressed well but his movement off the ball, holdup play, and inability to beat his man meant that he didn’t score. 16 goals in 98 appearances tells the whole story.
That wasn’t all Beltrán’s fault, of course. His scoring numbers were, in hindsight, a product of the fantastic ecosystem Marcelo Gallardo created at the Monumental. He was always a clunky fit up front, lacking the shooting to be a 9 and the creativity to be a 10. I still think he’d thrive in a deeper role, where his energy and intelligence would let him serve as an off-ball threat and a pest out of possession, but that’s purely academic.
It felt like el Vikingo’s days were numbered when he was loaned out to Valencia last summer. His time with los Murciélagos was more of the same: he finished with just 3 goals in 30 appearances (and just 1 in league play). That wasn’t enough to convince Carlos Corberán to make the move permanent, setting the stage for this homecoming.
Beltrán should fit right in at River. His 5 years at the club means he should slot right back in even though he’s never worked with new manager Eduardo Coudet. He’ll link up with fellow Viola exes Germán Pezzella and Lucas Martínez Quarta and should push for a starting job in Coudet’s 4-4-2. River Plate came second in the Apertura and will hope to challenge for the Clausura, so Beltrán will be playing meaningful games that could lead to silverware. If it goes well enough, he could even elbow his way back into international contention.

June 30 is upon us and a list of 49 Serie A players are set to become available on free transfers by the end of the day, none more prominent than Juventus's Dusan Vlahovic, for whom a new deal appears increasingly unlikely.
