A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was fatally stabbed in Hayes, west London.
The Met Police said officers were called just before 08:00 BST to a property on Uxbridge Road where they found a 24-year-old woman with stab injuries. Despite efforts of emergency services, she was ******* ounced dead at the scene.
A man, in his 20s, was found outside the property also with stab injuries. The force said it was waiting for an update on his condition.
Officers found a 44-year-old man matching the suspect's description nearby and arrested him. The force said he was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be caused after jumping from a window.
Det Ch Insp Allam Bhangoo said it was a "shocking incident".

The Oscar-nominated star recalled on the June 22 episode of the SmartLess podcast how she helped a man who had been stabbed in the neck during a trip to the beach in Santa Monica, California. Adams was promoting her Apple TV+ series "Cape Fear," which also stars Javier Bardem and Patrick Wilson.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Newly released video from an officer's body camera and a surveillance camera at a Texas running track captures the moments after a teenage athlete fatally stabbed another teen from a rival team in the stadium bleachers during a high school meet last year.
Karmelo Anthony, 19, was convicted of murder on June 10 in the death of Austin Metcalf, 17, and sentenced to 35 years in prison. A jury rejected Anthony's claims of self-defense. The videos were included in a batch of evidence released by the Collin County court following the conclusion of the trial.
The surveillance video shows the track and bleachers on a rainy day. Suddenly a figure wearing a gray sweatshirt is seen popping up from behind a yellow tent and then running down the steps. The video has no sound.
He got to the bottom of the bleachers, tripped and fell on the ground, and then kept running along the edge of the fencing that separates the bleachers from the running track. He stopped briefly, turned to look at what appeared to be someone chasing him, and then kept running.
After making his way part way around the track, he was joined by an unidentified person. They stopped to talk and then hugged. They started walking again and were joined by another person. After talking more, Anthony walked toward the fence where he appeared to meet up with a police officer.

June 14 (UPI) -- One teenager was shot in the foot and four people were stabbed overnight in New York during the celebration of the New York Knicks' first NBA championship in 53 years.
The 17-year-old was shot in the foot, police said, and at least one person has been charged with carrying a gun. Fifteen people have been arrested for various incidents, including a 28-year-old man who has been charged with **** ault for striking a police officer.
Forty-eight more people have been taken into custody and issued court summonses.
The celebration erupted on the back of the Knicks winning Game 5 of the NBA Finals in San Antonio 94-90, snapping their decades-long championship drought. Fans swarmed Madison Square Garden to watch the game and ultimately celebrate the win.
The series was the first appearance in the Finals by the Knicks since 1999.

A Howard University professor tore into the victim-impact statement delivered by the father of slain Texas teen Austin Metcalf, arguing that the teen's death "did not begin with the knife" wielded by Karmelo Anthony but instead that his father's parenting style was to be blamed as well.
Dr. Stacey Patton, a professor at Howard University's School of Communications, penned an opinion piece **** led "Dear Jeff Metcalf: Your Son Is Dead Because You Failed to Teach Him That Black Boys Have Boundaries" to Substack on Wednesday on Substack, where she insinuated Anthony was acting out of self-defense.
"YOU failed to teach your boy that Black children have boundaries," Patton wrote. "YOU failed teach humility, restraint, or the sacred fact that another person's body is not your jurisdiction. YOU failed to teach him that another child's **** e is not a challenge to be conquered. YOU failed to teach him that "community" does not mean white boys get to decide who belongs and who does not."
Patton's piece was published a day after Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Metcalf. The case drew national after now 19-year-old Anthony stabbed 17-year-old Metcalf in the heart during a confrontation at a high school track meeting in April 2025. MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) — A Texas teenager who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old track athlete from a rival team during a high school meet was convicted of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison on Tuesday in a case that drew wide attention beyond the booming Dallas suburb where they were students. A jury rejected Karmelo Anthony's claims of self-defense during a confrontation with Austin Metcalf in stadium bleachers last year. Most people who testified were students who described a heated exchange over Anthony's refusal on a rainy spring day to leave a tent that belonged to Metcalf's team.
Anthony, now 19, did not testify at trial and only his mother took the stand during the sentencing phase, telling jurors her son was sorry.
Notoriety about the case spread, in part, because of a flood of social media posts that amplified the killing in racial terms. Anthony is Black; Metcalf was white. Lawyers on both sides, however, told jurors that the tragedy had nothing to do with race.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rob Reiner's son Nick Reiner is seeking unpaid money from a trust his parents established for him, saying he needs it to help in his defense against charges that he killed them.
A petition filed by the 32-year-old Nick Reiner's civil attorneys in a Los Angeles County court on Monday says that trustees overseeing the funds have denied them to him without legal justification, and he needs and should get them now.
"Nick loved his parents, and he is devastated by their deaths. But the facts about what did and did not happen to them are not at issue in this Trust litigation," the petition says. "Like anyone accused of a crime, Nick is presumed innocent, and he is entitled to mount his defense with the resources that are lawfully his own."
The director and Hollywood luminary Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer and producer Michele Singer Reiner, were stabbed to death in their home in the upscale Brentwood section of Los Angeles on Dec. 14. Nick Reiner was arrested hours later and has since pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.
Reiner retained high-profile private lawyer Alan Jackson to represent him, but less than a month later Jackson left the case for reasons he said he couldn't share. The new filing reveals that Reiner's siblings, Jake and Romy Reiner, had initially agreed to pay for Jackson, but reversed course.

LONDON (AP) — Britain's deputy prime minister said Sunday that he told U.S. Vice President JD Vance he was wrong to blame immigration for the death of a university student who was handcuffed as he lay dying from a stab wound.
David Lammy, who is also the justice minister, said he challenged Vance in what he described as a "robust" phone call on Saturday. Lammy and Vance have struck up a friendship, based on their religious beliefs and family backgrounds, even though they come from different sides of the political spectrum.
"We had an agreeable conversation because we have got a relationship, but I wanted to make him clear that I disagree with some of the facts that he was **** erting and to present the facts to him," Lammy told Sky News.
The call came a day after Vance said in a post on social platform X that there should be "righteous anger" in response to the murder of Henry Nowak, 18, who died in December after being stabbed by Vickrum Digwa in the English city of Southampton.
Digwa, who is Sikh, falsely claimed to police he was the victim of a racist **** ault by Nowak, who was white. When police officers arrived, they initially treated the wounded man as a suspect before noticing his injury and trying to resuscitate him.

Four more men have pleaded guilty to violent disorder following protests held in Southampton after the murder of Henry Nowak.
Hampshire Police said earlier it had charged six more men, in their 20s and 30s - four from Southampton, one from Gosport and Romsey - after disorder in the city on Tuesday night.
The protests followed the release of police bodycam footage showing 18-year-old Nowak being placed in handcuffs after he had been stabbed by Vickrum Digwa, 23, who was jailed for life on Monday.
All six appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday. This brings the total number of people charged following the protests to 11.

Michael Ray Gledhill, the son of actor James Handy's girlfriend and the suspect in his fatal stabbing, is set to undergo a competency evaluation, a Los Angeles County judge ruled Friday.
Specifically, according to AP News, Superior Court Judge John H. Reid ruled that 44-year-old Gledhill be moved to mental health court, where he'll undergo psychological evaluations. It's said another judge will then decide if Gledhill is competent for trial. Gledhill's attorney did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
The court's decision came after District Attorney Nathan Hochman filed a felony complaint against Gledhill, who allegedly confessed to killing the 81-year-old veteran character actor earlier in the week.
"This is not how anyone's life should end, stabbed in the chest and left dying in the front yard of a home," Hochman said after filing the complaint on Friday. "The victim, James Handy, deserved to live out his later years enjoying what he had worked so hard for and enjoying it with those he loved and cared about. Like all murder victims, his life mattered and the person who inexplicably and violently took it must be held accountable for his actions."
Per the District Attorney's Office, Gledhill was charged "with one count of murder with a special allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon, a knife." Hochman's office also noted that the suspect faces 26 years to life in prison if convicted as charged.

Actor James Handy, who appeared in films such as Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, has been stabbed to death in Los Angeles.
Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy's girlfriend, has been arrested in connection with the killing, police said.
Officers responded to a home on Wednesday morning after a 911 caller said, "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin," according to the L.A. Police Department.
They found the 81-year-old in the front yard of the residence, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Paramedics took Handy to a local hospital, where he was **** ounced dead.
The suspect, who lived with his mother, flagged down nearby responding officers, police said, telling them he was the one they were looking for. He was booked on suspicion of one count of murder. His bail was set at $2 million, according to jail records.

Of course, anyone who thought the Carolina Hurricanes were going to roll over and play dead were deluding themselves.

Yet, the Knights had a chance to gain a solid grip on the Stanley Cup Final had they been able to maintain their 2-0 lead over the final 10 minutes of Game 2 Thursday night at the Lenovo Center. Brett Howden had both goals and was making a case as a legitimate contender for the Conn Smythe Trophy, which goes to the Most Valuable player of the playoffs.

Instead, that path hit a pothole thanks to Seth Jarvis, who scored 3:56 into overtime to give the Canes a 4-3 win and even the series at 1-1.

Game 3 is 5 p.m. Saturday at what will be a raucous T-Mobile Arena.

Obviously we would’ve liked to have gotten two out of here but they’re a good team,” Vegas captain Mark Stone said. “We’ll regroup and be dialed in for Game 3.

There were four goals combined scored over the final 9:40 of regulation, three by Carolina and the fourth by Stone which came with 1:21 left and Carter Hart on the bench for a sixth attacker.

In between, the Knights thought they had scored what would’ve been a third goal only to have it waved off for goaltender interference of Carolina’s Frederik Andersen. The explanation from the NHL’s Stephen Walkom was: “The ruling on the play was goaltender interference. He waved it (off) immediately. He believed that it was under the goalie and the Vegas player went after the puck and interfered with the goalie and his ability to freeze the puck and waved it off immediately.”

Vegas coach John Tortorella obviously saw things differently.

“I saw a loose puck in front of Freddie (Andersen). Our players stabbed it, didn’t move the goalie and it went in,” Tortortella said of the controversial play. “I would challenge that 10 out of 10 times.”

Stone said of the play and the subsequent challenge: “It was deemed it was goaltender interference. I didn’t think it was, that’s why we challenged.”

The loss of defenseman Brayden McNabb late in the first period after he took a puck to the face also impacted the outcome. It was more pressure on the remaining five defensemen as Tortorella mixed and matched the quintet hoping to get through the remainder of the contest.

Noah Hanifin, one of those five defensemen looking to pick up the slack, said: “That’s playoff hockey. We’re in the Stanley Cup Final. You lose an important guy like that, everyone has to dig in and do their job. It’s adversity.”

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A failed coach’s challenge by John Tortorella was a momentum-changing moment in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday night.
His Vegas Golden Knights appeared to score with five minutes left in regulation, but referee Jean Hebert waved it off immediately, citing goaltender interference. Hebert announced that he and the other on-ice officials thought Ivan Barbashev pushed Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen to knock the puck into the net.
Tortorella after some deliberation decided to challenge the play, and it did not take long for officials and the on-site NHL situation room to stick with the call on the ice of no goal. The Hurricanes scored on the ensuing power play 25 seconds later and went on to win 4-3 in overtime to tie the series.
“I saw a loose puck in front of Freddie," Tortorella said. "Our player stabbed it, didn’t move the goalie and it goes through him into the other side. I’d challenge it 10 out of 10 times.”
It was purely a video review of goalie interference and had nothing to do with whether the whistle was blown before the puck crossed the goal line.

The chief constable of Hampshire police has apologised to the family of Henry Nowak for the student being handcuffed and arrested as he lay dying.
Chief Constable Alexis Boon told the BBC he was "distressed" as others had been by the bodycam footage which showed the 18-year-old repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed and could not breathe.
Police can be seen in the footage arresting the teenager after his murderer Vickrum Digwa had falsely claimed he had been racially abused by the victim.
Asked what he would now say to the family, Boon told the BBC: "I'm so sorry you've had to go through this." He reiterated an apology on behalf of the force for the way in which Henry had been handcuffed and arrested.
Digwa, 23, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years on Monday for the murder in December.

Morgan Geyser, who in 2014 stabbed a friend 19 times to appease the fictional character "Slender Man," was located Sunday night after she allegedly cut off her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and left a Wisconsin group home where she had been a resident, authorities said.
