Juventus have not given up on Alexander Sørloth, with Luciano Spalletti still keen to add the Atlético Madrid striker even after the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani, and a deal that could hinge on the future of Nico González.
According to Tuttosport, Spalletti has long admired Sørloth as the kind of penalty-box target man his system craves, and personally contacted the Norway international to outline his plans.
Talks with Atlético had been opened under the previous regime of Damien Comolli and Marco Ottolini, and Sørloth was said to be enthusiastic about a move to Turin, only for Juventus's boardroom upheaval, Comolli's exit and the arrivals of chief executive Giovanni Carnevali and sporting director Frederic Massara, to slow everything down.
Atlético's valuation of around €40m has been a further obstacle.
