With Agentic AI accelerating CPU server chip demand, Wall Street believes Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) is one of the primary beneficiaries taking share. On September 9, Piper Sandler ******* yst David O'Connor initiated coverage on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) with an Overweight rating and a $600 price target.
Analyst O'Connor estimates revenue for FY26-30 to grow at a 50% CAGR, while earnings per share compound at 65%.
The server-CPU share gain story for AMD is simple, Agentic AI is expected to increase demand for server CPUs. This is because the workloads require continuous control-plane activity, API calls, database queries and tool execution. AMD will benefit from this use based on its high-frequency and general-purpose processors with its Venice portfolio.
Even AMD executives have highlighted that AMD is now transitioning from merely a semiconductor supplier to a provider of rack-scale systems and software. It is also positioning its server CPU portfolio for increased demand from agentic AI workloads.
The company reported second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, beating ******* yst estimates. This includes $6.7 billion from data centers, up 107% year-over-year. The segment performance was attributed to EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs.

Ads are coming for your LLM queries: OpenAI, the company behind the LLM, said this week its advertising business hit a $1 billion annualized run rate in well under a year.
OpenAI first slotted ads into ChatGPT in February in the U.S. and has slowly rolled out options for advertisers to purchase slots right in the LLM around the globe. On Monday, that option was extended to India, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
But rather than the search engine optimization of the mid-2010s yore, which catalyzed a boom-and-bust cycle for digital media platforms like HuffPost and BuzzFeed, these ads are placed directly into ChatGPT's output alongside similar queries. OpenAI's about to find out if the 2020s version is any different.
Ask ChatGPT for a recommendation for the best pen for taking notes, and you might be served an ad for notebooks. And so forth. It's a burgeoning marketing-science (with a healthy dash of pseudoscience) field called GEO, or Generative Engine Optimization.

Sam Altman said concerns about AI water use were overblown but hard to shake.
He said an average modern data center uses as much water as a large office building.
He also said ChatGPT queries use far less water than it takes to grow a single almond in California.
Sam Altman says concern about AI water usage is a "meme" that doesn't actually hold any water.
The OpenAI CEO was asked to respond to resistance to AI, including concerns about water consumption, on the premiere episode of the Sources podcast with Alex Heath, published Tuesday.

The fund invests in high-quality, wealth-generating businesses managed by prudent and capable teams, targeting an annual return of 8–12% after fees over a 5–7-year market cycle. The letter outlined potential incremental opportunities for portfolio companies through AI. Additionally, reviewing the Fund's top five holdings could help identify its best picks for 2026.

GREENVILLE — Hayden Panettiere would have turned 37 today. Instead of celebrating, the focus remains on determining how the actress suddenly died over the weekend while visiting Greenville.
As the coroner's office still works to determine her cause of death, agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration have reportedly joined the Greenville Police Department's investigation, several news outlets have reported. The Post and Courier emailed the agency Aug. 21 and received an automated response that said "non-urgent press queries may take up to 48 hours."
The New York Times noted that the DEA has become involved in investigations after other famous people have died suddenly, including the overdose death of Matthew Perry in 2023.
"There's nothing to be shared at this time as the investigation is ongoing, but we are hopeful that justice will be served," a representative of the late actress said in a statement shared with ABC News.
First responders arrived at Judson Mills Lofts in Greenville just before 2 p.m. Aug. 16 for a report of a woman in cardiac arrest inside an apartment. After attempting to resuscitate Panettiere, she was ****** ounced dead at the scene at 2:34 p.m.

Aug 19 (Reuters) - Payments firm Stripe said on Wednesday it had agreed to buy OpenRouter, which helps businesses route and optimize token usage, its latest bet on the fast-growing AI industry.
While the companies did not disclose the value of the deal, a source familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity to discuss confidential information, told Reuters it was worth slightly more than $8 billion.
The deal comes as soaring bills drive companies toward cheaper models and routing tools like OpenRouter, and deepens a year-long push by the fintech into AI. The push has included launching products like token billing to track AI model consumption.
AI marketplace platforms like OpenRouter allow developers to send queries to dozens of AI models through a single interface, making them a popular testing ground for new systems.

ORLANDO — Few expected much from Scott Frost's second UCF season last time around. Then, the Knights caught lightning in a bottle, beat every team in their path and claimed a national ***** le when the NCAA's Colley Matrix rating system crowned them as champions.
As it opens training camp Aug. 3, UCF faces incredibly long odds to repeat that feat in 2026, projected to finish in the bottom half of the Big 12 for a fourth consecutive year. The Knights are 7-20 against league opponents, including a 2-12 mark away from the Acrisure Bounce House.
Frost and four players addressed local and national reporters July 7 at the Big 12's media days in Frisco, Texas. However, many of the questions asked then will not have an answer until the Knights take the field — for practice and beyond.
Here are three important queries that could define whether UCF can push toward the conference's upper echelon, or whether it will be another battle to scrape a bowl game come November.
On paper, the Knights should have gotten significantly better behind center with the addition of Alonza Barnett III from James Madison. He earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year honors with 2,806 passing yards, 589 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns, leading the Dukes to an unlikely appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) may be willing to walk away from roughly $60 million a year to stop Google from turning its discussions into answers that users never leave Google to read. The companies are negotiating a renewal of their 2024 data-licensing agreement, and Reddit has discussed ending Google's access to its content for AI use, the Wall Street Journal reported on July 22. Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) fell 8.7% after the report, its worst session since March, according to Barron's.
Google can find generic product descriptions and technical explanations all over the web. Reddit is useful because its users argue about whether a product is actually good, describe unusual problems and update old advice. Those conversations answer queries for which polished corporate pages are nearly useless. Reddit can reasonably demand more money or limits on how that material appears in Google's AI products.
brett-jordan-0FytazjHhxs-unsplash
Walking away would carry a cost beyond the licensing check. Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL), through Google Search, also sends people to Reddit, where their visits can be turned into advertising revenue. If an AI answer already quotes the useful part of a discussion, however, that referral relationship becomes less valuable. Reddit is effectively being asked to keep supplying an input that may reduce the traffic Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) sends back.
The $60 million payment is not large enough to make the decision on its own. Reddit generated $663 million of revenue in the first quarter, of which $625 million came from advertising and $39 million from other sources, including data licensing. Google would lose a frequently updated source of human answers. Reddit would find out how many users seek it out and how many arrive only because Google placed a link in front of them.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 23 (Reuters) - Advanced Micro Devices is set to launch a raft of AI hardware that will rival Nvidia on Thursday at an event at a downtown convention center in San Francisco.
AMD is attempting to capture market share from Nvidia in the fast-growing data center chip sector, especially for so-called inference computing, which is the data crunching that occurs when a user queries a chatbot such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.
AMD is expected to show off the company's data center hardware that includes its first-generation server racks called Helios, which it is marketing as a rival to a similar design from Nvidia, which is rolling out its second-generation product this year.
The company also is expected to formally launch its Venice central processing unit (CPU) for data centers.

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) might be the company behind some of the more dependable microchips on the market, but its stock was wobbly on the second trading day of the week. On reports that yet another artificial intelligence (AI) company aims to develop its own specialty processors for the technology, investors sold AMD stock, leaving it with a loss of almost 7%.
Early Tuesday morning, Reuters reported that Chinese AI developer DeepSeek is planning its own AI chip. If the company is successful, at the very least it would gain independence from its current supplier, AMD, and peer/rival Nvidia. If the chip resonates with other AI businesses, though, it could directly threaten the AMDs and Nvidias of this world.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Citing three unidentified "people familiar with the matter," the news agency added that DeepSeek's chip is being designed for inference. This is the stage where an AI model leverages its considerable training to produce responses to user queries.
DeepSeek hasn't officially commented on the Reuters story, and neither AMD nor Nvidia has responded.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his fiancée, Taylor Swift, have yet to confirm the rumors that they are going to marry in the first week of July at Madison Square Garden. Despite no confirmations, a rumor is running wild that over the July 4 weekend, wedding festivities will take place in NYC.
To answer the queries of many fans, USA Today reporter Bryan West was asked if the wedding speculations related to MSG were true.
"I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about this being reported a couple weeks ago, but the more I think about it and also think about the fact that Taylor does like control, especially when it comes to security, outside photography, flyovers, drones, paparazzi shots, it does seem like it could be a likely scenario," West said on The Arena on CNN.
West highlighted why Swift might have made a "good choice" by selecting MSG for her wedding destination, giving way to security and privacy concerns.
"I just think when it comes to a venue and multiple checkpoints, I mean, there have been cases in litigation against stalkers, that this would be a venue that you could control," West continued. "You could have several credential sites, and it would be easy for guests to get in. There's even an underground ramp that they could appear unnoticed. So I think when it comes to security, Madison Square Garden is a good choice.

June 15 (Reuters) - Salesforce on Monday said it will buy autonomous AI agent platform Fin for about $3.6 billion, bolstering its Agentforce offering as the business software provider deepens its focus on automation.
The acquisition marks Salesforce's latest bet to accelerate its AI transition amid a wider industry shift toward autonomous agents.
