The $110 billion merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery closed on Tuesday after Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan denied a last-minute effort to halt the deal.
The new company — known as Skydance (SKYD)— brings the HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming services under one umbrella, roughly seven months after Paramount won a long bidding war with Netflix (NFLX) for Warner Bros.

New Generation Collective, a new initiative dedicated to helping young people in the entertainment, music and creator economy navigate growing up in the public eye, launched Tuesday. The initiative was announced during the inaugural summit for Hollywood & Mind in New York City. The Kids Mental Health Foundation, founded by Nationwide Children's Hospital, was also on hand at the summit to participate in the announcement.
The founding advisory board for the collective includes several entertainers and family members who have firsthand experience growing up in the public eye, including children's mental health advocate Angel Carter Conrad; the production company Artists for Artists; actor and singer Logan Henderson; actress and singer Isabela Merced; actor Kel Mitchell; actress and filmmaker Soleil Moon Frye; Carmela Wallace, mother of Juice WRLD and founder of Live Free 999; actor Hudson Yang; and actress and singer Breanna Yde. Additional members will be announced at a later date.

More than eight months after former Nickelodeon actress Kianna Underwood was killed, the NYPD have made an arrest in connection to her death.
Police arrested Michael Griffiths, 72, of Brooklyn on Tuesday morning (Sept. 29) and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and leaving the scene of an accident with injury. He was arraigned later that day, pleaded not guilty, and was released on his own recognizance. Griffiths is due back in court on October 27.

An arrest has been made in the death of a former Nickelodeon star killed in a gruesome hit-and-run car crash in New York City.
On Tuesday (Sept. 29), authorities announced that Michael Griffiths has been indicted in connection with the death of Kianna Underwood, who was slain in January after being struck and run over by a vehicle while crossing a Brooklyn intersection.
Griffiths, 72, was taken into custody and hit with multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. However, Griffith, who lives a short distance from the site of the crash, claims he is not at fault for the 33-year-old's death.
According to reports, on Jan. 16, Underwood was crossing the street against a red light at the intersection of Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard in Brownsville when she was initially struck by Griffiths, who was driving a black 2021 Ford Explorer SUV.
After the first collision, Underwood was run over by a second vehicle, identified as a black sedan, heading west on Pitkin Avenue, with the victim being dragged for two blocks before her body became dislodged on Pitkin Avenue, near Osborne Street. While Griffiths claims to have gotten out of his vehicle in an attempt to flag down the second driver and tend to the victim, he's accused of fleeing before police arrived on the scene.

The former Nickelodeon star's death certificate, obtained by People magazine on Wednesday, lists acute hypoxic respiratory failure and status asthmaticus as conditions leading to her death, with asthma being the underlying cause.
TMZ had previously reported that the actor suffered a severe asthma attack and was placed on life support at a hospital in Los Angeles. According to the outlet, Knowings was left with brain damage from the medical event and later passed away.
Knowings appeared on the Nickelodeon sketch series All That for three seasons, from 1997 to 2000. Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson led the tributes to his erstwhile co-star.

The actress has never been shy about making a statement on the red carpet, even though her appearances are few and far between, so I'm not at all surprised to see her in this Givenchy Fall 2026 strapless leopard-print dress.
There is a lot going on between the print and that dramatically draped skirt, which gathers across the hips before falling into an asymmetric silhouette, but I love how the draping gives the leopard print a completely different character from every angle.
It's a lot to contend with, but Sandra navigated every element perfectly.

Honestly? We knew it wouldn't be long before what is perhaps the most controversial shoe (if you can even call it that) of the year made its way onto the red carpet. Fashion has always loved an opinion-dividing shoe moment, and at last night's The Dog Stars premiere in London, Margaret Qualley stepped out in Chanel's much-discussed "barefoot" sandals, proving that even the most eyebrow-raising runway trends can find their way onto the red carpet.

Rosie O'Donnell says taking a gradual approach to weight loss through GLP-1 drug Mounjaro helped her avoid the common side effects **** ociated with the medication.
Speaking with Ana Navarro on the July 27 episode of the "Bleep!" podcast, the comedian said she gradually increased her dosage of the Type 2 diabetes medication over three years, losing about 65 pounds without experiencing adverse effects. Mounjaro is approved to treat Type 2 diabetes and is also **** ociated with its effects on weight loss.
"I did the lowest dose for [the first] year with 2.5. Then I did [the second] year at 5 and now I'm just finishing year [three] at 7.5," O'Donnell said, referring to milligrams dosing.

"Sister, Sister" star Tamera Mowry-Housley has brought her longtime California dwelling to the market for $2.7 million—months after revealing that she and her husband were in the process of building their "dream" family abode in Napa Valley.
Mowry, 47, and her spouse, Adam Housley, 54, announced in April that they had embarked on a very extensive renovation of a dilapidated property in wine country. Records show they purchased it for $3.8 million in October 2024.
At the time, the actress, who shot to fame while starring in the hit Nickelodeon series alongside her twin sister, Tia Mowry, admitted that the renovation represented a new chapter in her family's life. She joked that she was both excited and terrified to move to the country.
"I'm so excited but also a little nervous and anxious because I'm a city girl," shared Mowry-Housley, who launched a renovation series on her YouTube account.
Weeks after announcing their exciting news, the couple took the next step in their journey by putting their family's Fairfield, CA, home on the market—15 years after buying the 4,863-square-foot home for $1.4 million.
