Shivon Zilis, Elon Musk's longtime partner and the mother of four of his children, has announced their split in a lengthy post on X.
Zilis, who previously worked at Musk's car company Tesla and is now at his technology firm Neuralink, is mother to four of the billionaire's 14 known children. The pair's romance dates back to 2016, though the details of their relationship have been kept quiet.
"It's hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that's just how it is sometimes," Zilis began.
"I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness. Given the tumultuous nature of his early life, his often tortured soul, and how hard he fights for humanity I wanted him to feel the deepest and most stable form of love this world can provide. My heart is full knowing I got to do that, and I hope it leaves a lasting good effect.
"We were always his safe **** e," she continued. "A place where all of us were overjoyed to see him and one that was always full of happiness and love, not war, in contrast to his otherwise militant existence (a needed break from the battlefield where he could recharge his heart and soul before heading back out).

Semiconductor rivalries rarely move stock prices the way headlines suggest they should. MediaTek unveiled a new flagship smartphone processor on Tuesday, Sept. 15, built to challenge Qualcomm directly in the premium handset market.
Qualcomm Inc (QCOM)'s stock rose anyway, closing up 4.25% at $187.80.
That is not a new pattern. MediaTek's market value first surpassed Qualcomm's earlier this year, according to Reuters. The new chip was meant to widen that lead, not just defend it.
The gap is real money. MediaTek's market capitalization stood near $223 billion on Sept. 15, PitchBook noted. Even after Qualcomm's 4.25% rally that same day, its market cap reached $200.6 billion, according to CompaniesMarketCap, leaving it about $22 billion behind MediaTek.
MediaTek said the Dimensity 9600 Pro is its first mobile processor built on TSMC's 2-nanometer process. Its neural processing unit delivers 51% faster prompt handling for on-device AI models than the prior generation. That lets phones run generative AI tasks without sending data to the cloud.

OpenAI acquired Glass Imaging, a startup developing AI-powered smartphone camera technology, in a deal valued at over $300 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. The purchase price represents a significant jump from the roughly $100 million valuation Glass Imaging carried in a funding round last year.
Glass Imaging was founded in 2019 by Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, two former Apple engineers who worked on the company's Portrait Mode feature. The Los Altos, California-based company had raised about $30 million from investors including GV, Alphabet's venture arm, and Insight Partners before the acquisition.
Glass Imaging's approach differs from conventional AI photo editing: instead of processing images after the fact, the company teaches neural networks the specific optical properties of each camera system so that picture quality is improved as the shot is taken, according to The Wall Street Journal. The company's goal is to produce image quality comparable to a DSLR camera from a smartphone. Its zoom-imaging technology was featured in a line of phones from Chinese smartphone brand Honor.
OpenAI's plans for Glass Imaging are unclear. The company is also developing a device with Jony Ive, the former Apple designer behind the iPhone. OpenAI brought on Ive in 2025 through its $6.5 billion purchase of io Products, and his responsibilities span hardware development alongside broader efforts to define how AI products will look and function.
A spokesperson for OpenAI had not provided a statement by the time of publication, according to TechCrunch. The company has made several other acquisitions recently, including an internet talk show called TBPN and an open-source developer tools startup, according to The Wall Street Journal. OpenAI is also preparing for an initial public offering expected next year.

Apple (AAPL) recently decided to buy startup Sonera, which has reportedly developed a neural-data technology tool. The move could boost Apple stock within the next few years and bodes well for the company's long-term outlook. In the medium term, however, AAPL stock is unlikely to surpass the returns of the Nasdaq-100 by a significant margin, as the company continues to face multiple, negative catalysts. Weaker-than-expected revenue-growth guidance for the current quarter also suggests that these factors are beginning to weigh on Apple's performance. Let's take a closer look.
Earlier this year, Apple agreed to buy California-based startup called Sonera, which the European Commission disclosed on Sept. 8. The startup reportedly utilizes "breakthrough sensing technology" which allows it to ***** yze human brains without making direct contact with individuals' bodies.

Xiaomi Corporation (OTC:XIACF) is no longer content to compete through hardware design and pricing alone. The Chinese smartphone maker has unveiled the Xring O3, which is the second generation of its proprietary handset processor, as it seeks greater control over the technology powering its devices.
The strategy could improve product differentiation and bolster Xiaomi's negotiating position with outside chip suppliers, all the while supporting its expansion into premium smartphones. However, the investment comes as rising component costs and weakening global handset demand are already pressuring the company's core business. Let's dive deeper into it.
Developing processors internally could give Xiaomi greater control over several features that influence the smartphone experience. A system-on-chip integrates computing, graphics, artificial intelligence processing, and imaging functions, allowing the company to optimize important capabilities around its own hardware and software. Xiaomi launched its first proprietary smartphone processor, the Xring O1, in 2025. During its latest earnings call, the company said ******* ulative shipments of O1-powered smartphones, tablets, and watches had surpassed one million units. Although Reuters' sources estimated that only approximately 150,000 of those shipments were smartphones, the broader total shows Xiaomi has already deployed the technology across multiple product categories.
The O3 could also support Xiaomi's push into more expensive devices. According to two people familiar with the plans, TSMC will manufacture the processor using its 3-nanometre technology. One source said the chip is expected to power Xiaomi's next flagship foldable phone, with shipments targeted at between 200,000 and 300,000 units. Foldables offer Xiaomi an opportunity to compete more directly in a premium category currently dominated in China by Huawei. Huawei shipped 1.6 million foldable smartphones in China during the second quarter, accounting for 68% of the market, according to data cited by Reuters.
The company's ambitions also extend beyond smartphones. Reuters reported that Xiaomi contracted TSMC to produce the Xring O100, a 6-nanometre neural-processing chip designed to support its MiMo artificial-intelligence model on consumer devices, and the Xring D100, a 3-nanometre autonomous-driving processor. Xiaomi said both chips have completed development and are scheduled for deployment next year. Together, these projects show that Xiaomi is extending its chip-development strategy beyond smartphones into AI-enabled consumer devices and autonomous driving.

After trying Meta Platforms' (META) AI glasses lineup, Wall Street ****** ysts have turned bullish on the company's hardware ambitions, a possible change of heart considering how much money Meta has lost on Reality Labs and virtual reality (VR). Improved cameras, comfortability, and enhanced audio were the main drivers of the positive reception. Jefferies ****** ysts believe the glasses could become a real new growth driver for the company after testing the Ray-Ban Meta Gen2, Oakley Meta, and Ray-Ban Display. But what caught my attention was not hidden in the product notes — it was in the price tags of $379, $499, and $799, respectively. This pricing points to a long-term strategy designed to generate repeat purchases over years, not a single sale.
Starting with the entry point, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen2 is only voice-first, camera-equipped, and with no display. Next, the Oakley Meta at $499 pushes into a sportier niche at a slightly higher price. Finally, at $799, the Ray-Ban Display with Neural band is Meta's top-of-the-line model — the only one with an actual screen and gesture control. This product lineup clearly shows something that Meta is trying to build on: Pulling customers up the ladder over successive purchases rather than selling them a single product once.

What was the contract decision that 49ers QB Mac Jones says he doesn’t regret? (Paywall)
“Asked Wednesday about the multi-year deal that prevented him from reaching free agency in March, where he might have signed a contract that could have dwarfed his current salary, Jones offered an alternative what-if.
“What if it went the other way?” Jones said. “What if I was on a one-year deal and played like **** ? And then I’m on the street. Any years you can get in the league — just being on a team is a blessing for me, And, obviously, I have a higher ceiling than just that. But that’s the basis: You want to make sure you’re good to go.”
….A reporter noted Jones was “underpaid” by quality backup QB standards (“Thank you,” Jones said) and asked whether the $300,000 roster bonus it was recently reported he received was a thank-you gift for his performance last year. Jones’ answer suggested it was tied to a 2025 incentive ownership decided to pay.
“I’m not really going to go into it because it was supposed to be a quieter thing,” Jones said. “It has something to do with last year. But I’m really grateful for it, and I love the Yorks … It was good to have that gesture sent my way.”
…..Last year, Jones improved when it came to moving on from mistakes. He’s said part of his struggles in New England were tied to his lack of resilience when faced with on-field adversity. In 2025, 49ers quarterbacks coach Mick Lombardi would mention the 1997 movie “Men in Black” during games as a reminder to forget. In “MIB,” a secret device, a neuralyzer, is used to erase the memory of those who see its flash.

As we age, the human brain rewires itself.
The process happens in distinct phases, or “epochs,” according to new research, as the structure of our neural networks changes and our brains reconfigure how we think and process information.
For the first time, scientists say they’ve identified four distinct turning points between those phases in an average brain: at ages 9, 32, 66 and 83. During each epoch between those years, our brains show markedly different characteristics in brain architecture, they say.
The findings, published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications, suggest that huma

A small population of nerve cells appears to be responsible for blood flow and neural activity across the entire brain, findings that could have significant implications in the study of sleep, dementia, and overall brain health.
The type of cell is referred to as a type-I nNOS neuron. Found in sparse numbers mostly in deep cortical layers, they are considered to be vulnerable to mental stress. To understand more about the type-I nNOS neuron's role, researchers from Pennsylvania State University selectively removed them from the brains of mice to study the effects.
