Mckenna Grace just took method dressing to a new level. The actress wore a recreation of one of Jennifer Lawrence's gowns from the film "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" on Tuesday night for the "Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style and Power of Panem" exhibition at Musee Rodin in Paris on Tuesday night.

The actress turned to designer Monique Lhuillier for the recreated gown, which referenced Katniss Everdeen's wedding dress, created by costume designer Trish Summerville in collaboration with Tex Saverio, in the 2013 film, an adaptation of the young adult book series of the same name by Suzanne Collins.

Amid a wealth of style choices at the 2026 Emmys, one color ruled above all: a bold crimson in its best look-at-me hue, seen on women happy to embrace its powerful psychology. From Cailee Spaeny in custom Miu Miu to Hassie Harrison in Monique Lhuillier, Rhea Seehorn in Louis Vuitton and Emmys host Mariska Hargitay in Monse on the red carpet, the choice was just the beginning of an evening that acquitted itself well on the style spectrum.
Among the more touching elements of the night's fashion conversations were the remembrances of legendary designer Bob Mackie, whose death in Palm Springs at the age of 87 was announced mere hours before the 78th Primetime Emmys kicked off at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. During the pre-show, E! News host Keltie Knight took a moment to honor Mackie, calling him "one of the most prolific and celebrated costume designers of all time … [who] created some of the most iconic looks of all time for stars like Cher, Carol Burnett, Elton John, Diana Ross, Marilyn Monroe, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton and so many others. His impact on the world of fashion is really hard to put into words, and his legacy absolutely lives on." E! News finished the segment with a moment of silence and a black screen.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier says his office will seek the death penalty for the two adults who allegedly confined four children to the cab of a tractor-trailer, some for more than six years, and ***** ually abused them.
Keisha Monique Epps, 51, and Tamra Marshon Stewart, 37, have been charged with ***** ual battery, molestation and neglect of two girls and two boys — two 5-year-olds, a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old, Uthmeier said.
Epps and Stewart, who has been identified as her fiancé, had been living in the cab with the children. Epps worked as a truck driver, frequenting a route between Miami and Atlanta, according to court documents.

The Vikings' selection of Caleb Banks is going to be debated for months until he steps on the field in a regular-season game. Given the injury concerns, folks will want to see how sustainable his play is, but, of course, they will hope for the best. Beyond the Banks pick though, this class has shown to be decent enough to generate some early contributors throughout camp and the preseason.
When it comes to the depth of it all, it helps explain why Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley is a fan of the group the team selected. This week he spoke to the media, and he discussed the class, saying, "We've seen all of our players improve on a daily basis, and so really excited about the trajectory of the draft class."
On defense, this class could have four impactful players, including defensive linemen Caleb Banks and Domonique Orange. Linebacker Jake Golday is being used in a variety of ways, and safety Jakobe Thomas projects as someone who will be a part of the rotation.
Not a bad class for a first-year general manager to take in when he didn't have a say in any of the picks, as he was with the Seattle Seahawks at the time of the draft.

The NFL broadcasts games on ABC, Amazon Prime Video, CBS, ESPN, Fox, NBC, Netflix, and Peacock. Then, there's NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL RedZone. Why not further test the limits of the human attention span this season?
According to Brian Steinberg of Variety, X (formerly Twitter) is launching a "NFL Gametime" feed designed to integrate creators, data, and news.
"X users can choose to put the new topic-focused stream alongside mainstay feeds like 'For You' and 'Following,'" Steinberg wrote. "The stream will be available from season kickoff through the end of the 2027 Super Bowl. The move is seen not only as a way to court sports fans, but also big advertisers that may have felt more ambivalent about working with the Elon Musk-backed social giant in months past."
"Advertisers can now reach highly passionate fans across the entire funnel, from awareness and cultural conversation to real-time engagement during live games, all on X," Monique Pintarelli, head of global advertising for X parent ******* eXAI, said in a statement to Variety. "Together with the NFL, we're giving brands a powerful, authentic way to show up throughout the season."
Brent Lawton, the NFL's vice president of media, underscored NFL Gametime as a hub for "official scores and stats, team content, and the conversation together in one place."

Kelsey Mitchell of the Indiana Fever set a WNBA record Thursday night, Aug. 20, by posting her 21st consecutive game with at least 20 points. A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces held the record of 20 straight spanning the 2023-24 seasons.
Mitchell cut off a high screen set by Monique Billings on a sideline out-of-bounds play inbounded by Caitlin Clark, knifed through the paint and sent it off the back of the rim and in off a bounce. She had 21 points at halftime on 6-of-9 shooting, with two 3-point makes, while making all seven free throws. The game was tied at 42.
Coming into Thursday's game, Mitchell averaged 24.3 points per game, second in the league to Wilson, and 44.3% 3-point shooting.
Mitchell's run started on June 20, when she scored 22 points in a win over the Phoenix Mercury. She has had four games of 30 or more points with a high of 37 in a loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Aug. 2. The Fever went 14-6 over the first 20 games of the streak.

Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts told reporters on Friday that veteran guard Kelsey Plum will miss the team's next game on Sunday against the Portland Fire.
Plum is expected to be re-evaluated after that game to see if she will be able to return for Phoenix's next game, which isn't until Saturday, August 22.
The veteran guard missed Phoenix's last game against the Los Angeles Sparks in what would have been a game against her former team. Plum was acquired at the 2026 WNBA trade deadline in an infamous move that saw Los Angeles pick up a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and guard Monique Akoa Makani.
Without Plum, the Mercury picked up the 94-87 win over the Sparks, ending a three-game losing streak.
The veteran guard didn't play in the second half of Phoenix's game against the Washington Mystics on August 9th due to "left calf tightness."

LOS ANGELES -- The Sparks (12-19) take on the Phoenix Mercury (12-22). But in this instance, the Sparks will be playing at Galen Center in the University of Southern California.
This game had a lot of intrigue. After all, both teams made a big trade with each other. The Sparks sent Kelsey Plum to the Mercury in exchange for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first round pick, and a 2028 second rounder.
It turns out that Plum will be out for this Tuesday game while Akoa Makani is listed as questionable. So Plum won't be able to take on her former team in her first return to L.A. since the trade occurred. The Sparks are 2-2 since the deal while the Mercury are 1-3.
The playoffs are blurry in both teams' view at this point so they gotta see what they have. And it's a little tough for both. Akoa Makani is under contract for next season but Plum is an unrestricted free agent after this season. Plum had mentioned that she was going to go through the full process of free agency so the Mercury have to show Plum why she should stay.
There are plenty of reasons to stay. Alyssa Thomas (who had a triple-double when they last visited L.A. on July 22nd) and Kahleah Copper are perennial all-stars. With Plum, they have a "big three" that they can call their own. Mercury coach Nate Tibbetts also encourages three-pointers in his system and Plum could similarly thrive in that as she did under Lynne Roberts in Los Angeles.

CHICAGO — The ongoing Sophie Cunningham saga has another chapter.
The Indiana Fever guard took a shot to the face from Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington during the first quarter Saturday at the United Center — a foul that resulted in a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection for Carrington, followed by an almost immediate rebuke on her social media account.
"WHITE PRIVILEGE," the post from Carrington's Threads account read, with the Indiana Fever tagged.
After an errant pass from the Sky's Elizabeth Williams, the Fever's Monique Billings collected the loose ball and threw ahead to a streaking Cunningham. On the shot attempt, Carrington's left arm connected with Cunningham's head and jaw, sending her to the floor.
Cunningham immediately popped up, and teammate Makayla Timpson had to separate her from Carrington. After a review, officials upgraded the common foul to a Flagrant 2 and sent Carrington to the locker room. On her way through the tunnel, Carrington grinned and shook her head as Sky fans gave her an ovation.

Since Tom Brady joined the media, he has somewhat surprisingly become one of NFL media's most fervent detractors of modern quarterback play.
Brady has repeatedly argued that the developmental system and hotshot play-callers have left QBs unable to read defenses and dictate plays, reducing the position to one based more on athleticism and execution than intelligence. This line of thinking has also cropped up in commentary from other luminaries of Brady's generation, including Jon Gruden and Peyton Manning.
It can sometimes seem a little unfair, and apparently Yahoo's Nate Tice agrees.
Tice, who played quarterback at Wisconsin and is the son of longtime NFL offensive tactician Mike Tice, said in an appearance this week on The Domonique Foxworth Show that Brady's perspective on today's QBs "does these guys a disservice."
"I kind of really get mad a little bit about some of these old coaches and old players, Gruden, Tom Brady, who I respect a ton, and they just act like the guys today can't even walk and chew gum at the same time," Tice said. "And that really frustrates me because I feel like it does these guys a disservice."

After a whirlwind of a weekend, things aren't slowing down for Kelsey Plum.
The Phoenix Mercury announced she's set to make her debut in Monday night's game at the Chicago Sky, her first since the Los Angeles Sparks traded the five-time WNBA All-Star guard to the Mercury for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first round pick and a 2028 second-round selection early Sunday morning.
Plum was met with a surprise welcome from her new teammates as she arrived in Chicago at 11p.m. local time on Sunday, August 3. Her introductory press conference was held virtually around 5:30 p.m. Monday.
It was just Thursday that Plum was telling reporters she planned to return from an ankle injury for the Sparks as they visited the Portland Fire right at the WNBA trade deadline Sunday afternoon. During her introductory presser with the Mercury, she spoke about her quickly changing circumstances.
"I am where my feet are. It was Portland two nights ago and now it's here. But that's why I'm a professional," Plum said. "You know, I'm paid to play basketball at the highest level, and that's what I'm going to do tonight."

The Los Angeles Sparks executed a blockbuster deal hours before the 2026 WNBA trade deadline, moving Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 second-rounder.
The deal, clearly, doesn't make LA better in the immediate future. Plum is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 ***** ists per game, while Akoa Makani is a second-year player averaging 9.4 points and 2.5 ***** ists.
But, it is a move that sets the Sparks up to do what is necessary at the moment: tank, tank and tank.
The Sparks are currently five games out of the eighth and final playoff spot. Trading Plum didn't make them a better team, but they are no longer feebly chasing a postseason berth.
Now, it's all about getting the top draft pick. While the WNBA has a lottery, a team can better their odds. It is now in LA's best interest to lose as much as possible and give themselves a chance of winning that No. 1 spot.

PHOENIX — Buzz over the Phoenix Mercury's blockbuster Kelsey Plum trade continues to dominate the conversation around the league, with one former player giving her perspective on the move.
News of the trade broke late Saturday night, with the five-time All-Star making her way to the Valley to help bolster a team looking to slip into the postseason. However, the trade package sent guard Monique Akoa Makani to the Los Angeles Sparks along with two high draft picks.
Many questioned whether the package was too much to give up for a player who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, but former Mercury player Adrian Williams-Strong doesn't see it that way.

"Monique will be missed, but getting Plum brings a new excitement to the team/organization," Williams-Strong told Burn City Sports' J. Russell. "It shows that we have not given up on the season and are making moves to win."

The expected Kelsey Plum trade finally went down early Sunday morning (or late Saturday for those in Los Angeles), with the Sparks sending the five-time all-star to a Western Conference foe just a half-game behind them in the standings.
Plum was traded to the Phoenix Mercury, ESPN reported, giving the veteran team a much-needed offensive boost as it attempts to make a playoff push in the second-half of the season.
But was the trade worth it for the Mercury? And did the Sparks get enough for their leading scorer of the past two seasons? Let's break down the deal and give out some grades.
Mercury get: Kelsey Plum
Sparks get: Monique Akoa Makani, 2027 first-round pick, 2028 second-round pick

The Los Angeles Sparks are trading five-time All-Star guard Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury, according to ESPN's Shams Charania and Kendra Andrews. Los Angeles will receive guard Monique Akoa Makani, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick in the deal.
The trade was completed late Saturday night, just hours before Sunday afternoon's deadline. According to ESPN, Plum becomes only the fourth All-Star in WNBA history to be traded during a season. Plum has not played since June 21 because of a lower left leg injury, but she had returned to practice and was expected to be available for the Sparks' game against the Portland Fire on Sunday. It remains unclear whether she will be ready to make her Mercury debut Monday against the Chicago Sky.
When healthy, Plum gives Phoenix one of the league's most dangerous offensive guards. She is averaging career highs of 23.9 points and 6.4 **** ists through 12 games this season.
Here are the early grades for the blockbuster trade.

The Kelsey Plum era is over in Los Angeles. The Sparks are sending the five-time All-Star to Phoenix in exchange for Monique Akoa Makani, the Mercury's 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 second-rounder, league sources confirmed to The Athletic. ESPN was first to report.
The Sparks traded the No. 2 pick in the 2025 draft (which became All-Star Dominique Malonga) to acquire Plum in the 2025 offseason in an attempt to end their rebuild and get to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. That plan didn't pan out: Los Angeles came up two games short of the postseason in 2025, and Plum's lower leg injury in 2026 dug the Sparks a hole they could not get out of.
At 10-17 and 5 1/2 games out of a playoff spot, Los Angeles is pulling the plug on this season, and that means moving on from Plum, who will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. Plum has only played 12 games in 2026, but is second in the league in scoring (23.9 points per game) and sixth in ***** ists (6.4). She is arguably the most efficient No. 1 option as a guard in the league — her field-goal percentage only trails A'ja Wilson among top-10 scorers — and she has also been a secondary (even tertiary) scoring option on a two-time ***** le team in Las Vegas.
As reported by The Athletic, the sense from executives around the league was that Plum wouldn't re-sign in Los Angeles, forcing the Sparks' hand to trade her and recoup some of the value they lost in acquiring the five-time All-Star guard. Even so, there have rarely been trades involving all-WNBA players during the season. The last time it happened was in 2015 when the Chicago Sky dealt Sylvia Fowles to Minnesota. The Lynx ultimately won the championship that season and Fowles was named finals MVP.
This is a developing story and will be updated.

The Indiana Fever picked up their fifth straight win on Friday night, taking down the Portland Fire, 112-98 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Caitlin Clark had the fourth triple double of her career, notching 26 points, 10 ***** ist, and 10 rebounds in 34 minutes. Kelsey Mitchell also had 26 points, while Monique Billings added on 15.
The Fever have moved up to fourth in the WNBA and will finish out their road trip on Sunday against the Minnesota Lynx. Here's what I liked and disliked about the game:
Caitlin Clark's clutch shot: There isn't anything that Clark can't do. The Fever star, with less than five seconds left in the first quarter, sprinted down the court and three up a 3-pointer through contact. It was a shot, frankly, that looked like a desperate attempt to beat the buzzer. But it swished into the basket to give the Fever a two-point lead at the end of the quarter. Clark thought she was fouled too, but there wasn't one called.
Second-quarter takeaways: After what seemed like a lackluster first quarter, the Fever turned up their game in the second. Indiana picked up five steals in those 10 minutes, including a Sophie Cunningham steal that turned into a dime from Clark to Kelsey Mitchell, then an Aliyah Boston steal that turned into a knockdown 3-pointer from Cunningham. That helped the Fever to go on a 14-2 run throughout the quarter and extend their lead into halftime.

Aliyah Boston is listed as probable for the Indiana Fever's game Friday vs. the Portland Fire with a right lower leg injury.
Fellow forward Monique Billings (left hip) is listed as probable, as is Caitlin Clark (back). Damiris Dantas (left knee) did not travel with the team and has already been ruled out for both Friday's game in Portland and Sunday's in Minneapolis.
Boston had to be helped off the floor late in the second quarter of Wednesday's 105-95 win over the Seattle Storm after she tripped over Flau'jae Johnson's foot while pursuing a pass from Caitlin Clark. Boston appeared to land directly on her right knee and was taken to the Fever locker room.
She was listed as questionable for the second half, but did not participate.
Fever coach Stephanie White said it "wasn't really worth the risk" to play Boston after halftime, adding: "We just want to be very conservative and make sure that she's good to go."
