AUBURN — A sudden addition to Auburn basketball's staff appears unlikely, at least for the time being, as head coach Steven Pearl addressed the firing of general manager Brian Kloman following the Tigers' 80-68 win in an exhibition against Samford on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Neville Arena.
Auburn's coaching staff is taking a by-committee approach to general manager duties, Pearl said. He did not provide a timeline for an eventual general manager hire, nor did he expressly state the program would look for someone to fill that role.
"As a staff, (we will) just kind of go through some of the things that Brian (Kloman) was doing and try and divvy up some of those responsibilities, and collectively as a group, work through those things together," Pearl said.
Brett Whiteside, listed as Auburn's executive senior **** ociate athletics director, was name-dropped by Pearl as someone who is expected to help the program amid its general manager change. According to his staff biography, Whiteside "plays a key role in shaping the student-athlete experience through revenue-sharing operations, NIL strategy, education, and compliance."

Gluckstadt is now less than two months away from welcoming its first multimillion-dollar sports venue.
The TD Select Baseball facility appears to be opening within six weeks, with the state-of-the-art $10 million baseball and soccer complex at 589 Stout Road set to be finished by late November.
Both TD Select owner Ty Dean and commercial estate developer Lee Sahler confirmed the November timeline after installing and watering the grass at the venue's outdoor baseball fields.
"The grass is down already and now we're just looking to get the lights and fence up so weather permitting we should be open within six weeks," Sahler told the Clarion Ledger.
Conceptualized as a youth development complex, TD Select Baseball will feature a 10,000-square-foot training indoor facility equipped with 10 batting cages.

Robert Kelker-Kelly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive at his Missouri home, according to police. The former Days of Our Lives actor died at 62.
Officers and paramedics were called to his home in St. Peters, a suburb of St. Louis, at around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.

At the start of September, the global network of transportation partners that retail giant Amazon relies upon to process an average of between 15 and 17.2 million delivery orders per day was suddenly thrust into public attention.
A cargo plane operated by 21 Air ran off the runway at Miami International in a major accident that killed five people traveling in a van on a nearby road.
Since the Sept. 6 crash, Amazon suspended its operations with 21 Air, pending an ongoing investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The retail platform said it made the choice after it "spent time supporting the investigation and reviewing some of the surrounding circumstances."
While operating with an unblemished safety record, another of Amazon's network of thousands of transportation partners ended up in the limelight this week when it filed for Chapter 11 protection in a Florida court, Tampa Bay Business Journal reported.
Launched out of Winter Haven in Polk County in 2005, CLJ Transporting is a cargo carrier and dedicated Amazon Freight Partner that had been running deliveries for Amazon within a 200-mile radius of Davenport in the central part of the state for more than a decade.

The best option is to figure out scholarships, financial aid, debt timelines and what school makes financial sense before going to college. But that's not reality for many clients, leaving advisors to help fit student debt into a financial plan that balances both loans and savings. "The biggest mistake I see is treating student loans as an all-or-nothing problem," said Corinna Rose, a CFP with Bell Investment Advisors. Updated economic projections released Wednesday showed FOMC participants nudged their inflation forecasts higher. The median projection for headline PCE inflation this year rose to 3.7% and core PCE to 3.4%, each up 0.1 percentage point from the June forecast, the Fed said. Officials do not expect inflation to return to the 2% target until 2029. The median unemployment rate projection for 2026 fell to 4.1%, down from 4.3% in June, while the GDP growth outlook rose to 2.3% from 2.2%.
