Last night in New York City, the Kering Foundation held its fifth annual Caring for Women dinner in the midst of New York Fashion Week. Co-hosted by founders (and spouses) Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault, the event raises money to end gender-based violence, and it's become one of the starriest fundraisers of September—as well as a ****** e where the stars can get a bit daring with their looks.

New York Fashion Week is here again! From September 10 through September 15, the city's biggest designers will unveil their Spring/Summer 2027 collections, and the action-packed week will be followed, as per tradition, by shows taking place in London, Milan, and Paris.
Over the past few years, some designers have chosen to start the festivities a bit early, and the same was true this season, with houses like Ralph Lauren, Cult Gaia, and Rachel Comey all showing their collections ahead of the official CFDA calendar.
And while the schedule may be stretching, so is the map of show locations. This year, presentations will take fashion fans across the greater NYC metropolitan area, with Collina Strada hosting its show at Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, New York, while threeASFOUR will present its show at the Mana Contemporary center in Jersey City.
This year also features a few exciting debuts, like Connor Ives, who is showing in his home country for the first time ever, in a switch from his usual slot during London Fashion Week. Yesterday also saw Henry Zankov present his debut collection for Diane von Furstenberg, where he took over as artistic director this past May.

If there's one thing you learn after a few seasons of New York Fashion Week, it's that the shows are only half the fun. Sure, everyone spends the day running from runway to runway, but once the sun goes down, the fashion crowd has an entirely different schedule to keep. There are dinners, ****** tail parties, store openings, after-parties—and, inevitably, some nights that go much later than planned.
The spring/summer 2027 season is officially underway, and so is the party circuit. Things kicked off on September 8, when Siegelman Stable hosted a dinner at Pendry Manhattan West, where Carmelo Anthony, US Open semifinalist Frances Tiafoe, and New York Knicks guard Tyler Kolek, fresh off the team's championship season, all made appearances.
But the following night really got things going. On September 9, Bulgari brought Dua Lipa, Lisa, and Anne Hathaway to the High Line for a special Serpenti Infinito unveiling before the festivities moved to Boom. Lipa arrived at the after-party with her new husband, Callum Turner, and later hit the dance floor with Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams. Elsewhere in the city, Ugg and Willy Chavarria toasted the global launch of their collaboration at Ray's, while Coach followed its 85th-anniversary runway show with a club-style after-party of its own. In a new series of ads for Calvin Klein, Sadie Sink – the 24-year-old Hollywood actress best-known for Stranger Things – can be seen posing in nothing but jeans and a bra. The reason I mention this is not, I promise, because I'm a grubby old man. It's because I believe that something about these ads is politically very significant.
In short: the woman in them is good looking.
When I was young, few people would have considered "Attractive Woman Hired to Model in Ad Campaign" to be front-page news. (Not that this necessarily deterred newspapers from putting the relevant pictures on the front page, but you know what I mean.) A few years ago, however, something peculiar happened. Major fashion and beauty brands started filling their ads with people who are, shall we say, less conventionally attractive.
Take Calvin Klein itself. In 2019, it ran a billboard campaign in which its jeans were modelled by a woman who was unmistakably – in the euphemism favoured by women's magazines – "plus-size". Or, as one rather less generous commentator put it: "morbidly obese".
Then, in 2023, Calvin Klein ran an ad showing a sports bra being modelled by a transgender man (in other words, a biological female). This transgender man also happened to be "plus-size". And to have a beard as big as Brian Blessed's.

Even among Diana fans and royal watchers, many of her most famous looks have only been seen on TV, on the covers of magazines or in old photographs, but now, a brand-new exhibit coming to the United States this year will allow guests to get an up-close look in person at some of the late princess's most celebrated items. The exhibit, ***** led "Princess Diana: Love Life Legacy — A Life of Giving," will open at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation's Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum on Nov. 7 and will feature more than 700 artifacts from Princess Diana's life.
Among the items to be on display are Princess Diana's beloved "black sheep" sweater, the long black gown she wore when dancing with John Travolta, her wedding slippers and her "final goodbye" dress—the final gown she tried on before her death, revealed to the public for the first time—among many others.
In addition to these items of clothing, this exhibit will feature various handbags, shoes, jewelry, historical documents, handwritten letters, myriad personal possessions and more. Certain artifacts will be exclusive to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, but the "Princess Diana: Love Life Legacy — A Life of Giving" exhibit will go on tour elsewhere after departing The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum on May 31, 2027. Tickets for the exhibit can be purchased on the Ronald Reagan Foundation website and are available now.

We are only a couple of weeks away from Practical Magic 2 hitting theaters (on September 11), and to celebrate the film's impending release, costars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman attended a premiere event in London yesterday afternoon in some very different, but equally bold looks. Bullock chose a leopard-print Givenchy dress for the occasion, while Kidman wore a sparkly sequined Chanel gown. But for their latest joint appearance, the two put forward a much more united front.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian residents of war-battered Gaza fled homes and businesses as Israeli strikes and tank fire killed at least four people Monday, including two children, hospital officials said, a week after a U.S. delegation asked Israel to draw down attacks.
After evacuation warnings by Israel's military, a strike hit a building in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. One family was unable to flee and a 4-year-old child was killed, according to Awda Hospital, where he was taken. His mother and sister were wounded. There was no Israeli military comment.
Israeli strikes hit three other buildings across the territory after residents said they received evacuation warnings. Some people sprinted away, with mothers carrying children, while others moved amid the rubble in wheelchairs or with canes.
Smoke rose over the already devastated landscape.
Israel's military said it carried out strikes in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and in Deir al-Balah after issuing warnings, targeting what it described as two Hamas weapons storage facilities inside mosques. The military did not provide evidence but said the facilities contained dozens of "Kalashnikov rifles, magazines and additional military equipment."

To start us off, I'm looking at some of the factors that likely aren't being discussed by the national media in their early previews of Washington. Today we'll focus on the positives and some of the reasons why the Huskies may surprise in 2026.

Preseason magazines love to look at returning starters as a metric for how much returning experience a team has. That shouldn't be a surprise. Most positions have somewhere between 65-90% of their snaps come from one player so having that starter come back is essential to keeping up continuity.

Happy Gump Day, everyone. Since it is Gump Day, we'll say that Alabama is being overlooked and thus has the rest of the SEC right where they want them:
As the season approaches, major preview magazines have already hit newsstands, including Athon Sports. Most of the magazines are projecting Alabama to finish midpack within the SEC, and Athlon is no different.
The Crimson Tide fell seventh in the SEC in the Athlon preseason rankings. The magazine projected Alabama to finish 15th nationally.
The publication had Georgia No. 1 in the league, followed by Texas, with Oklahoma third. Texas A&M was fourth on the list, with LSU rounding out the top five and Ole Miss the other school ahead of the Crimson Tide, which sat one spot ahead of Tennessee.
It has been many years since Alabama football has been under the radar like this.

Jeff Monken heads into Army football preseason camp feeling pretty good.
"I like our team,'' he said during a Friday press conference at the American Conference football media days in St. Petersburg, Florida. "We've got some positions where certainly we have more experience than others. We've got a relatively inexperienced defense, but that's college football, and at Army we can't sign them to a new contract … we do have graduation. We lost some good players to graduation but really excited about the guys we have coming back.''
Though the American did not produce a preseason poll, nor a preseason all-star team, the Black Knights have been well-represented on the preseason lists produced by national college football magazines, garnering nine selections from Athlon Magazine and 10 from Phil Steele Magazine. As for polls, Steele has Army finishing fifth, Athlon and Lindy's Magazine has Army in fourth and The Sporting News has Army seventh.
Army opens preseason practice on Aug. 5, four weeks ahead of the Sept. 5 opener with visiting Bryant. Monken heads into his 13th season at West Point, coming off a 7-6 campaign, a 4-4 mark in the American and a Fenway Bowl win over Connecticut.

A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld an Illinois ban on semiautomatic weapons, keeping in place a law passed largely in response to a deadly Independence Day parade shooting.
The ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit overturns a lower court decision that found the ban unconstitutional. The 2-1 appellate decision found that the Illinois law does not violate the Second Amendment, and its restrictions are "consistent with the principles that underpin our Nation's tradition of firearm regulation."
"Whether to adopt them is thus a decision reposed in our elected representatives, and we reverse," the appeals court said.
The majority opinion also pushes back on claims made by the plaintiffs that semiautomatic weapons are not at fault for mass shootings.
"The undisputed record evidence undercuts that claim, showing that the presence of ******* ault weapons and large-capacity magazines is strongly correlated with the severity of the societal problem," the opinion states.

While some of the national publications and websites have OSU as the preseason No. 1 team, Lindy's is a little more conservative, with the Buckeyes landing at No. 3 behind Oregon (1) and Texas (2). Lindy's believes Ohio State will make another run towards a College Football Playoff and potential national championship again, but there are questions.
"The Buckeyes started 12-0 and spent all season at No. 1 but somehow are amid a two-game losing streak. So Ryan Day's team has that angry edge again that has served them well," writes Lindy's. "Heisman-capable talents Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith are the most compelling pitch-and-catch duo in college football, and after 87 connections last year when Sayin was throwing as a mere redshirt freshman, their numbers will soar as they create a weekly highlight reel ... "Replicating the impact of three first-round picks on defense could be a problem for coordinator Matt Patricia unless Power 4 transfers James Smith, Qua Russaw, Terry Moore, and Earl Little Jr. pan out in a big way."
It's hard to argue with what Lindy's is throwing out there, but it's also extremely hard to peer into a crystal ball these days with so many unknowns with roster turnover and inequitable schedules in conferences that have ballooned over the last few years.
