Let's just get this out of the way: Mark Wahlberg is as A-list as it gets. He broke out in 1997's "Boogie Nights," and in the nearly three decades since, he's built one of the highest-wattage careers in Hollywood: two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe nod for "The Fighter," multiple Emmy nominations as a producer (HBO's "Entourage" among them), and a filmography that spans crime dramas, comedies, and action blockbusters. Right now, he's back on screen in "By Any Means," a manhunt thriller set during the 1966 Mississippi civil rights killings.
He's also signaling where he's increasingly turning his attention. Wahlberg will sit down with Bruce K. Lee, Founder and CEO of Keebeck Wealth Management, on the main stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 to talk about his own progression. Grab your ticket here so you don't miss a moment of this session and Disrupt 2026. Ticket prices increase on September 25.

His acting career is really just part of the picture. Over the past two decades, Wahlberg has built a production company, a restaurant chain, apparel and fitness ventures, a slate of angel investments, and the now 25-year-old Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, which supports inner-city kids and teens. He's used his Hollywood success to launch big projects well outside the movie business — and in a fireside chat at this year's Disrupt, he's going to give us a peek into how.
Wahlberg, who's leaned almost entirely on entrepreneurial instinct about people, culture, products, and markets, is now someone who's been building institutional-level investing discipline, with Lee as his guide, and with a growing focus on healthcare and wellness startups. It's a rare, unvarnished look at how someone with Wahlberg's cultural intelligence has worked his way into some of the most sophisticated rooms in business and finance.

The Washington Commanders have begun making roster cuts, releasing four players Saturday afternoon.
The Commanders still have a long way to go to reach the league limit of 53 by Sunday afternoon. The four players released thus far on Saturday are LB Boogie Basham, LB D.J. Johnson, S Joshuah Bledsoe and S Qwuantrezz Knight.
Perhaps the Commanders have begun their defensive-side discussions, as the cuts include two linebackers and two safeties.
Qwuantrezz Knight: Knight had a working relationship with Washington GM Adam Peters. The 49ers signed the undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and spent all of the 2022 season on the practice squad. On their practice squad again in 2023, the Cardinals claimed him, and he appeared in six Cardinals games in 2023.The Cardinals released Knight following the season; Washington signed Knight to a futures contract in January of 2026. This might be the NFL end for Knight.
Joshuah Bledsoe: A 6th-round pick of the Patriots in the 2021 Draft, Bledsoe appeared in three games in 2022 and one game in 2023 for the Patriots. Since then, he has signed with the Steelers, **** ans, and Commanders but has not made a 53-man roster. This might be the end for Bledsoe, too.

Crocs, Pokemon cards and kendamas never go out of style in Hawaii. And neither does the Warriors' four-wide offense, In video sessions with offensive newcomers, receivers coach Jared Ursua shows old footage of the Warriors' passing game. "We've been doing this since January," Ursua said of clips of former UH QBs Dan Robinson, Nick Rolovich, Timmy Chang, Colt Brennan, Bryant Moniz and Cole McDonald. "We are who we are, we do what we do, and this system has always worked." QB1 Micah Alejado has been starring in recent remakes, deciphering defenses ahead of the snap, releasing passes within 2.2 seconds, and throwing to targeted areas on the receivers' routes. "Micah's a special quarterback," said Chang, the UH head coach who calls the offensive plays. "He understands our offense, and he understands what teams are trying to do against us." Ursua has implored the receivers to read the coverages correctly "so Micah can throw at a high level based on our indicators, which is what the run-and-shoot is based off." Alejado has shown toughness, playing through injuries to his right ankle last season. He did not participate in contact drills ahead of the Hawaii Bowl, during which he completed 69.6% of his throws for 274 yards and three TDs. Last season, the Warriors scored on 46.1% of Alejado's full drives. Slotbacks Blaze Kamoku, Tama Uiliata, Audric Harris, Kainoa "Kaikai" Carvalho, ******* an Lacaden and Koa Eldredge are reliable inside receivers. Devin Alves, Tre' Griffiths and Carson Brown are tall and fast wideouts. With running back Landon Sims' graduation, Cam Barfield will get the bulk of the reps. Barfield did not fumble while averaging 9.1 touches as a running back, receiver and returner. Left tackle Boogie Henderson's emergence enabled Dean Briski to move to the right side. At 6-6 and 345 pounds, Oregon transfer Lipe Moala is mobile on pulls.
Three years ago, in his first season as UH's defensive coordinator, Dennis Thurman kept intact the 4-2-5 scheme the Warriors ran under Corey Batoon in 2019 and Jacob Yoro in 2023. In 2024, Thurman incorporated some of the attacking schemes he used when he was an ******* istant coach with the Baltimore Ravens and DC with the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. "Once we clicked his second year, he let it all loose," mike linebacker Wynden Ho'ohuli said of Thurman. Kona Moore, who has overcome a variety of injuries, and Matagi Thompson are succeeding safeties Peter Manuma and Kilinahe Mendiola-Jensen. "Main focus is staying healthy," said Moore, who relies on stretching as part of his prehab. Ho'ohuli and Jamih Otis have switched linebacker jobs. Ho'ohuli is now the middle, often working in tandem with nickelback Elijah Palmer. As the renamed dime linebacker, Otis often has isolation ******* ignments, which enable him to use his speed in the flats and to break off for direct aim at running backs. Ho'ohuli and Otis will take turns as play-callers. The Warriors will miss Jackie Johnson III's pass rushing, but Leste

PAYSON — No one can accuse Adrian "Boogie" Wilson of not being tough.
Last season, it seemed like at least once a game, the senior safety would remain down after a play, eventually heading to the sideline clutching his shoulder. Moments later, once the shoulder had been popped back into place, he would be back in the game. Anything to not have to sit on the sideline permanently.
The 6-foot, 215-pound senior emerged as one of the stars of the defense in 2025, finishing fourth on the team with 57 tackles in 12 games despite having to play through pain. He had surgery on his right shoulder on Dec. 4, which prevented him from playing in the Sun Bowl against ACC champion Duke. While he would have liked to have played in that one too, he wanted to have his right shoulder repaired as soon as possible so he could start preparing for the 2026 campaign.
He missed spring drills while recovering from surgery.
"It hurt a lot," Wilson said. "I can't lie, it was pretty painful at times, but I wanted to be able to play. Once they popped it back in, it felt better, and I was ready to go. I just never knew when it was going to happen. I just love the game, and I wanted to play."

It wasn't some early morning disco, but instead the venue for the para mixed pairs B2-B3 final.
This Commonwealth Games has lamped a real focus on inclusiveness. Few sports are more inclusive than bowls.
And with this new format - two five-end sets - plus the addition of a DJ and a big glitter ball, bowls is trying to captivate a new audience.
Those boogieing along to the beat early on Tuesday were treated to a highly-competitive, nail-biting showdown between Scotland and England, with the Scots winning after a tie-breaker.

Auburn basketball is looking to regain its spot as one of the top programs in the SEC this upcoming season. After a disappointing 2025-26 season, the Tigers will have some work ahead of them to show they are back in that conversation.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports released his SEC preseason power rankings on Wednesday, and the Tigers came in ranked No. 11 on the list.
For Auburn to become a top-five team in the SEC, a roster full of new faces will need to come together. They do have the benefit of returning their backcourt from last season, featuring Tahaad Pettiford and Kevin Overton. However, Steven Pearl and staff overhauled the front court. With KeShawn Murphy heading to the NBA and Filip Jovic transferring to UCLA, the Tigers went to the transfer portal.
The new front court will feature French center Narcisse Ngoy and a pair of in-state transfers, Thomas Dowd (Troy) and Adam Olsen (South Alabama). The Tigers also added Santa Clara center Bukky Oboye and Creighton big man Owen Freeman to give the team some depth in the front court, something the team did not have last season. A player to look out for will be Lithuanian wing player Mantas Rubstavicius.
Taking the top spot in his rankings were the Florida Gators. Florida should be No. 1 on a lot of lists heading into the 2026-27 college basketball season. The Gators return their talented front court of Reuben Chinyelu, Alex Condon, and Thomas Haugh, along with guard Boogie Fland. Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky round out the top five.

It feels like the whole of Scotland are squashed into Miami.
Many thought - me included - that Boston was the Tartan Army at its best and there was a wee, quiet, concern that 'The Magic City' couldn't match it.
Boy, were we wrong.
Following on from Monday's march to the Miami Marlins match - because baseball is what we follow now - Tuesday featured the TA bouncing down the beach to the soundtrack of 'No Scotland, No Party', 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' and 'We'll Be Coming'.
Coming they are. Well, they've long arrived.

(to match the theme with Zach's anthem, here's another song that was performed on Family Guy)
Well, the series began with the very first game:
The win was Arizona's;
And the series went on with a second game rout,
A kick to their cojones.
And the series concludes with the third time around,
Pitching all right, hitting resound,
Not a chance the Twins get clowned:
Here, we cheer and boogie.
We boogie, we boogie, we boogie:
Oh, where do we begin?
We boogie, we boogie, we boogie
To celebrate a win.
Walks will haunt, which has always reckoned:
Walked a man twice to begin the second,
One swing and a sailing double
Brought a couple runs home and we called it trouble.
Scoring, please; implore for some more:
So long, so far now they bore.
