The torch has officially been passed. The glorious era of the Allen family's ownership of the Seattle Seahawks has officially come to an end. In the week leading up to the season opener, ownership transferred from the Paul Allen estate to the Khosla family. This was inevitable following the NFL's approval in late August of the record $9.6 billion dollar sale Vinod Khosla put forth.
Now, Vinod and his family are in charge of the Seahawks. Vinod himself carries the ****** le of Chair of the Seahawks. His wife Neeru Khosla is now designated as the Controlling Owner of the Seahawks, and President of their Charitable Foundation. Their son, Neal Khosla, is the Vice Chair of the Seahawks.
But we at Seahawks Wire would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the legacy of Paul and Jody Allen, and what they gave to both the Seahawks franchise and the Pacific Northwest. Under their leadership, they helped transform the Seahawks into a national, championship caliber brand. Paul saved the city from being relocated to the Los Angeles area under the previous ownership of Ken Behring. Part of his purchase agreement included the Washington state legislature to hold a statewide referendum on funding a new stadium, which passed, paving the way for the iconic Lumen Field.

Under the settlement, Redfin can continue to display Zillow ads on its sites but will resume its rental advertising business within six months, the FTC and states said.

Aug. 24—A second-straight WISSOTA Modified feature with no caution flags meant there were almost no obstacles between Carlton's Jody Bellefeuille and a sixth win of the season and 23rd of his career at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior on Friday night, Aug. 21.
After getting past polesitter David Simpson and breaking away from Colin Chaschuk, Bellefeuille needed just five laps to build a leading margin of over a second despite starting third on Friday night. The final margin was 5.4 seconds ahead of Brady Uotinen as Bellefeuille boosted his points lead in the division and continued a bid to earn the national WISSOTA Modified crown.

Aug 14 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court on Friday ordered a lower court to reconsider whether China-based DJI, the world's largest drone maker, should be removed from a Pentagon list of companies allegedly supporting Beijing's military.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that the lower court erred by relying only on the unclassified record in concluding that the company contributes to the Chinese defense industrial base.
DJI is one of a growing number of Chinese companies challenging their placement on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The list bars the Defense Department from contracting with designated companies, and a broader ban on buying their products via third parties takes effect in 2027.
"There is...no publicly stated rationale for why the Secretary believes DJI contributes to the Chinese defense industrial base," the appeals court said. "On remand, the district court may examine the classified record and determine whether to uphold the Secretary's determination .

Harry Kane's future has occasionally been the subject of speculation, with rumors linking him to a potential return to the Premier League or even a move elsewhere in Europe. However, after a sensational campaign with Bayern Munich that saw him lift major trophies, put together one of the greatest goal-scoring seasons in modern football, and firmly establish himself in the Ballon d'Or conversation, there appears to be little reason for the England captain to consider leaving. Former Chelsea ****** istant manager Jody Morris believes Kane is exactly where he should be and made a compelling case for both his future in Munich and his Ballon d'Or credentials.
"I don't see why Harry Kane would want to move. Bayern Munich is an amazing football club. He is in Ballon d'Or conversations while winning trophies. Unless he wanted a new family experience in Spain or wanted to come back to break the Premier League record, those would be the only things to pull him away," Morris told BOYLE Sports, who offer the latest football odds. "The level he performed at last year for Bayern was phenomenal. He never quite hit that same level in the World Cup, although his goal tally was decent. Vincent Kompany has been a great fit for him."
Morris raises valid points. Kane finally achieved what had eluded him for so much of his career by winning major silverware while continuing to produce elite individual numbers. Bayern Munich has given him a platform to compete for every trophy each season, and Kompany's attacking style has allowed Kane to thrive as both a scorer and creator. Unless Kane is motivated by personal milestones such as breaking the Premier League's all-time scoring record or experiencing a different league, there is little sporting incentive to leave.
Morris also believes Kane deserves football's highest individual honor.

Users' sensitive health information was shared with online advertising companies including Meta Platforms and Snap despite the company leading customers to believe their data was private, the FTC alleged in the lawsuit filed along with Los Angeles County and Utah.
Hims & Hers stock added to losses after the news and was trading down around 12%.
Hims & Hers is one of the largest telehealth players in the market for weight loss drugs. The company offers telehealth appointments and prescriptions for erectile dysfunction, hair loss, and mental health medications, which it ships straight to customers.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are the latest team to eliminate separate radio and television broadcasts, moving to a unified broadcast across platforms for the 2026-27 National Hockey League season.
Blue Jackets television broadcasters Steve Mears and Jody Shelley will continue in their current roles for the simulcast broadcast. Radio play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott, who has been with the Blue Jackets for the past 17 years, did not have his contract renewed.
Dylan Tyrer, who has been a radio host for the past seven years, will remain in that role.
"Bob McElligott has made significant contributions to the Blue Jackets organization on the air and in the community over the past 17 years," said Blue Jackets Vice President of Business Intelligence and Broadcasting Marc Gregory. "Bob's voice was at the heart of many of our club's unforgettable moments and helped shape memories that will live on for years to come. We sincerely thank him and wish him nothing but success moving forward."
The Blue Jackets are one of seven NHL teams seeking a new television home following the shutdown of the FanDuel Sports Networks. NEW YORK, July 28 (Reuters) - Shein, the online fast-fashion retailer, said its U.S. operations are under investigation by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and that it could face significant fines as a result, according to documents filed in connection with its planned Hong Kong IPO.
Shein is cooperating with the probe, the Chinese-founded company said in the documents published by the Hong Kong stock exchange on Sunday.
"The outcome of the investigation, whether in settlement or otherwise, may require us to make significant monetary payments that could have a material adverse effect on our financial condition and results of operations," the company said in the filing.
An FTC spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday the agency is conducting a consumer protection investigation into Shein. The FTC enforces U.S. laws against unfair and deceptive business practices.

The NFL remains one of the more exclusive clubs for those with the ability to purchase a sports team. They do not let just anyone into their circle, and those who are grandfathered in take team ownership personally. However, teams still change hands from time to time, as we saw this past weekend.

In an NFL memo Adam Schefter posted at 3:56 p.m. PST on Saturday afternoon, we learned that Neeru Khosla will officially serve as the Seattle Seahawks new controlling owner after the franchise's recent sale to the Khosla family and several limited partners.
The memo also mentions her husband Vinod, the tech investor who holds a net worth of over $13.7 billion, who's been the main name reported as the buyer of the Seahawks. According to The Hindustan Times, he's the world's 217th richest person. It says Neeru is an educator and entrepreneur, She has experience on the West Coast, having attended two of it's biggest universities in Stanford and San Jose State, earning a master's degree in molecular biology and studying gene expression.

The Seattle Seahawks announced that the franchise has been sold and that ownership has changed hands.
Seattle announced that the team has been sold to an ownership group led by the Khosla family. This includes Vinod Khosla, a limited partner in the San Francisco 49ers.
The team was reportedly sold for a record $9.6 billion, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Seth Wickersham.
This will be the first ownership change for the Seahawks since 1997, when the franchise was purchased by Paul Allen. After his death in 2018, the ownership of the team transferred to Allen’s estate and was managed by his sister Jody Allen.

Woking have re-signed striker Josh Kelly on a two-year deal, following his release from League One club AFC Wimbledon.
Kelly, 27, played for the Cards on loan from Wimbledon last season, scoring five goals in 24 appearances, until an injury against Eastleigh on 26 December curtailed his campaign.
"I'm not sure we saw the best of him during his loan with us, his match sharpness took a while," Woking's director of football Jody Brown said.
"He's proven at this level, he's been part of successful teams before, and we think he can get back to his very best during the next two years with us."
Meanwhile long-serving defender Tunji Akinola has signed a new one-year contract extension.
Kelly, 27, played for the Cards on loan from Wimbledon last season, scoring five goals in 24 appearances, until an injury against Eastleigh on 26 December curtailed his campaign.

The Aggies announced their first signing class under new coach Adeniyi Amadou on Tuesday, June 23. It includes 11 newcomers, of which six are transfers, and five are freshmen.
All five freshmen are from Amadou's native France. Four of the six transfers are also French, with two others hailing from Serbia and Latvia. Guard Emma Christiano, a Las Cruces native, is the only returner and NM State's only American player as of now.

Nine months since the Trump administration’s $100,000 fee on first-time H-1B visa approvals took effect, some top unicorns are actually hiring more H-1B employees than they did before, according to a PitchBook ******* ysis of federal employment data.
The hefty fee—which President Donald Trump cast as a way to curb H-1B hiring and steer well-paid technical jobs to American workers—has widened the gap between the best-funded startups and everyone else.
Employment experts say the uptick in hiring of foreign workers among the top 30 US startups by valuation reflects the cutthroat race for AI talent. The best-funded labs are competing for a thin pool of senior researchers and engineers, and the fee, so far, has done little to deter companies sitting on billions in venture capital.
OpenAI, for instance, landed 27 H-1B approvals in the first half of fiscal 2026, already surpassing its full-year fiscal 2025 total of 21, according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services. Stripe had 46, up from 23. The data reflects all approved first-time H-1B visa applications, including hires from abroad, which trigger the fee, as well as H-1B sponsorships for people already in the US, which do not.
“There is a correlation between dry powder and hiring, and there is also a correlation between the haves and the have-nots,” said Jody Thelander, founder and CEO of compensation specialist J. Thelander Consulting.
