That type of turnover is a clear indication that the head coach needs to show improvement the following season. ANAHEIM, Calif. — Despite being on pace for the first 100-loss season in franchise history, there may have never been more hope and optimism surrounding the future of the Angels than there is right now.
The Angels have seen sweeping changes to the organization over the last four months. A new team president, a new interim general manager, a new draft strategy, a change in approach at the trade deadline and other coaching and scouting department changes have already given fans hope for a better tomorrow.
But on Tuesday morning, the news that a large portion of Angels fans have been impatiently waiting for finally dropped.
Arte Moreno sold a majority ownership stake to Stan Kroenke.
"When I first came here, I spoke with Arte and he had mentioned that this was a possibility," interim general manager John Mozeliak said. "But to learn it this morning from (Angels president Molly Jolly), I was definitely surprised, but it wasn't a shocker. I think it's exciting news for everybody. I think change is what I came in to try to start doing, and I wasn't thinking that it would be at the very top, but we've certainly been working our way through the organization."

Elye Wahi touched down in Nice late last night ahead of his loan move to Le Gym from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Ivory Coast international also spent last season on loan at OGC Nice.
Fans gathered at Nice Airport late on Sunday night to welcome Wahi. The former Olympique de Marseille, RC Lens, and Montpellier HSC forward spent the second half of last season on loan at the Allianz Riviera. It was his goals that ultimately kept the club in Ligue 1. After netting in the promotion/ relegation playoff against AS Saint-Étienne, keeping Nice in the top flight, Wahi gave an interview in which he was very emotional and grateful to the club.
However, due to Nice's finances, it was not possible to include a buy option. Another loan move would be beyond Nice, it was thought, however, they have succeeded in reaching an agreement with their German counterparts. Wahi has arrived on the Côte d'Azur ahead of his medical. This time, his loan will include a buy option valued at €15m, Nice-Matin understands.
Speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News on Saturday night, following a 0-0 draw against FC Lorient, Olivier Pantaloni said that he was "impatient to have a signing" in attack. He added that he would be having talks with his superiors to understand the status of any deal(s). And just hours later, Wahi is in Nice and expected to complete a return.

I can still picture my prized holographic BOOK IT! pin, the one with pages that turned as you tilted it. It filled up with stars I earned through a full Baby-Sitters Club obsession and anything even remotely ghost-related, then kicked around various jewelry boxes and bins of ephemera for years. As a kid I proudly identified as a voracious reader, and the pin was the proof. The Pizza Hut pizza was simply a bonus.
Recently, I sat down to talk with Chrissy Teigen about her partnership with Pizza Hut's BOOK IT! program, and it quickly turned into a delightful nostalgia-fest. What doubly delighted me was how authentically excited she is about reading and about passing that love down to her kids. "The little exclamation point is like what excited me the most," she told me about her own childhood pin, and we were off.
There's real substance behind the nostalgia. Pizza Hut created BOOK IT! in 1984 with a simple mission, to turn "have to read" into "want to read" for kids everywhere, and it worked. It's now the longest-running corporate-supported reading program in the country, and by Pizza Hut's own count it has encouraged more than 70 million children to read since it launched, handing out an estimated 1.5 billion pizzas along the way.
Teigen, who turned 40 this year, has spent the past few years reconnecting with her childhood friends from Snohomish, Washington. The things that got them excited as kids are the same things they text each other about now, which is exactly why a reading program wrapped in 90s vibes and pizza was an immediate yes. As a senior millennial, I understood the impulse completely.
Her four kids read in four completely different ways, which any parent of more than one totally understands. Miles (8), her biggest reader, goes nonstop, plowing through Dog Man and the I Survived series in the car and on the way to camp because he loves facts more than almost anything. Luna (10), her oldest, is aging into book reports, summer reading lists, and the very specific social world of tween reading, where friends race through the same book so they can all watch the adaptation together. Then there are the littles. Esti (3) is deep in Madeline and The Very Impatient Caterpillar, which Teigen reads aloud in full character voices while the caterpillar keeps asking "am I a **** erfly yet?" and everyone shouts back, no. Wren (3), whom she affectionately calls "a much simpler man," wants Little Blue Truck and a "beep beep" on every page.

Even though there's no deadline for Aaron Donald to decide whether he's going to come out of retirement or not, fans are getting impatient waiting for his decision. One thing's for sure, though: He looks ready to go.
Rams coach Sean McVay said last week that Donald brought his speed trainer out from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles and on Sunday, his trainer posted a video of Donald going through footwork drills with Braden Fiske and Desjuan Johnson.
He cruised through the speed drills, showing off the footwork he displayed throughout his Hall of Fame career. There's more that goes into playing in the NFL than simply being quick, but Donald doesn't appear to have lost a step at all.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported last Thursday that Donald was expected to make a decision in the coming days, but that timeline has been updated. Florio wrote on Sunday that Donald has shifted his timeline from "early this week to the end of this week."
There's no rush for him to make a decision, but the Rams would probably like to know his plans before Week 1. Then again, McVay sure looks like a guy who knows Donald is coming back, so maybe it's just the contract holding things up.

I spent a soggy, smoky night celebrating it all with some of the tallest and most talented people in the country at the 2026 ESPY Awards, hosted by comedian Marcello Hernández at Lincoln Center.
As someone who observes sports more from a cultural angle than a technical one, I admit I find most of the fun of televised competition to be the emotion and drama of it all (besides the whole "who's going to win" element). I also only learned that "ESPY" stands for "Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly" last night. I still had an amazing time.
Here's what I observed as an in-person attendee at the ESPYs that you might not have picked up during the televised broadcast on ESPN.
When I arrived at the theater for the red carpet, the air was heavy with wildfire smoke and the humidity of an impending deluge. Sure enough, it poured. The nasty summer storm cost everyone about an hour of interview time, but fortunately, I got to spend that time indoors chatting with Yahoo's correspondent for the night: Jazzy, a delightfully brilliant 16-year-old journalist. We spent a while fantasizing about the snacks we wished we had brought, and she recommended I try putting Flamin' Hot Cheetos in the freezer for 15 minutes, which I will be doing next time I anticipate being grumpy and impatient.
