Michael Douglas, firmly in his smooth silver-fox era, has opened the door into secret compartments of his life. Douglas, 82, has just published an incredibly dishy, wildly entertaining, at times both hilarious and painful new memoir, One ****** uva Ride. It's a tale that spans generations of Hollywood royalty, from his father Kirk's rise to stardom to his own run of classic films as both producer and actor: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), The China Syndrome (1979), Romancing the Stone (1984), Wall Street (1987), Fatal Attraction (1987), Basic Instinct (1992), and Falling Down (1993), to name some of the biggest. Written with Shane Salerno, the book is one of those rare memoirs that both entertains and sheds light on a lost world of Hollywood of glamour and decadence, with lots of ****** and drugs and even some rock & roll.
To discuss all this, Douglas has invited me into his palatial apartment overlooking New York City's Central Park, one of several homes he owns and enjoys. He's a welcoming and gracious host, no servants or ****** istants bustling about. Just Douglas padding around in his socks, still as slim, handsome, and charming as ever. Douglas makes me a coffee, and we sit down in a living room with a view of his two Oscars, an Emmy, and other awards. Between Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, the trophy case is so large it fills up a corner of the massive living room.

Zendaya is facing backlash after a video of her meeting France's First Lady went viral. The clip, shared by Paris Match, shows the actress staying seated while Brigitte Macron stopped by to say ******* o at the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week. The brief moment has caught everyone's attention online, with many debating whether she should have stood up.
Zendaya's seated ******* o to Brigitte Macron leaves social media divided. The 30-year-old actress sat in the front row at Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2027 show on Tuesday. The show was held in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre.
In the video shared online, Macron, 73, walks through the front row, greeting guests like Pharrell Williams and Lisa of BLACKPINK. She then pauses to speak with Zendaya. At first glance, the exchange looks warm and friendly. But upon closer look, Zendaya never rises from her seat. Reportedly, she said ******* o, told Macron it was a pleasure to meet her, and shook her hand.
The clip quickly sparked debate online. Some viewers criticized Zendaya for remaining seated, with one viral reaction saying she "gotta get up" when the First Lady says ******* o. Many viewers agreed, saying standing would have been the polite thing to do. "When the Premier Dame from France Talks to You please get up," one Instagram user wrote. Another commenter, who said she loves Zendaya, noted that American culture seems more relaxed about formalities than others.
Others came to her defense. Some fans suggested she may have been caught off guard, pointing out that the greeting was quick and unplanned. A few added that a busy front row at a fashion show isn't exactly a formal setting, and that Zendaya came across as gracious and polite throughout. Neither Zendaya nor Macron has addressed the reactions yet. For the unversed, Zendaya is a Louis Vuitton ambassador and a regular at the brand's Paris shows.

Jannik Sinner is missed by the tennis world at the 2026 US Open. The defending Wimbledon champion and reigning ATP World No. 1 player has been out of commission with a knee injury.
In the preceding years, fans grew accustomed to seeing Sinner and his biggest rival Carlos Alcaraz compete against each other for Grand Slam ***** les. 2026 has been a different story with only the Australian Open following that script. Alcaraz missed the French Open and Wimbledon with a wrist injury prior to Sinner opting out of the US Open.
However, fans were happy to see Sinner out and about today at a somewhat expected location, outside of a tennis court, at a Formula 1 race in Italy. The Italian Grand Prix originated in 1921, and we know the Sinner family are big fans.

Kei Nishikori's final appearance at Flushing Meadows ended this week, as the ******* anese star fell 6-4, 7-6(3) to countryman Rei Sakamoto, ranked 157th, in the third round of US Open qualifying.
"I couldn't play my best today," Nishikori said after the match.

"I'm sure he had more than me. I had zero pressure coming into today's match," Nishikori said, as reported by Tennis Panorama. "I was really excited to play Rei. I know him for a long time, and we practiced together a lot in IMG."
Nishikori credited Sakamoto's speed and hard serve for disrupting his rhythm throughout the match. While it wasn't the ending he envisioned, the loss doubled as a passing-of-the-torch moment, with Nishikori falling to the current third ranked ******* anese player.

The following Dolly Parton interviewed originally appeared in the July 1997 issue of Out magazine.
Dolly Parton is ready for dinner. All five-foot-one of her bodacious curves and Dynel blondness is perched on Frederick's of Hollywood-style mules as she moves through the lobby of the posh Pierre hotel overlooking New York's Central Park. Hers is a Southern manner both gracious and "oh my gracious."
Patsy Cline in Jessica Rabbit's body, she offers a friendly ***** o to anyone who cranes his neck to glimpse her-which is everyone. As she descends the stairs and settles into a corner banquette in the hotel cafe, the waiters stand in awe, each wearing a grin that says, It's so nice to have you back where you belong. One thing is certain: She is looking swell, this Dolly. A triumph of style over fashion in "an Azzedine shirt and a K Mart skirt," she is a star and then some. An icon, I call her. "An icon or an eyesore?" Parton shoots back.
This is definitely going to be fun.
"I can't even begin to imagine dressing up in a nice business suit and coming down to dinner," she says, after ordering seared foie gras and mashed potatoes. "I would much rather have the shock value of walking down the steps with my ***** hanging out but knowing that I've still got the same brain and the same talent. What kind of fun would I have doing it if I had to be ordinary?"

Director Griff Furst came under fire Tuesday following his tribute for late actress Hayden Panettiere, with some blasting the post as "ambulance chasing."
For those who didn't see the video statement uploaded to Instagram, Furst, who directed Panettiere in one of her last movies, 2025's "A Breed Apart," explained he wanted to speak directly to his fans out of fear tabloids would take what he had to share "out of context."
"I had met Hayden about 10 years before that and I knew that she was insanely talented, so when she signed on to do this picture that we were shooting, I was psyched," Furst recalled. "I really wanted to work with her. So I'm on set, and I get word from the movie's security team who picked her up from the airport that something was off."
He continued: "I didn't think much about it, and so I left set and I walked over to greet her and her boyfriend Brian [Hickerson]. He opened the door. Hayden was incredibly sweet and gracious and excited to work, but she was not okay."
"I'm not going to get into the details of why that was, but having worked on over 100 movies and seeing just about everything, it was pretty clear that she wasn't okay," Furst noted. "And the energy in her room was pretty dark."

Tommy John, who won 288 games over a 26-year MLB career died at the age of 83.
John played for six teams from 1963-89. He spent eight years with the Yankees, seven with the White Sox, and six with the Los Angeles Dodgers. John won 91 games as a Yankee, 87 for LA and 82 with the White Sox.
He is also known as the namesake of a pioneering surgery after suffering a torn UCL in 1974. The procedure where a tendon was taken from the wrist and placed in the elbow, gave John his career back and has become commonplace in saving pitchers from having their baseball runs end.
"The New York Yankees mourn the passing of Tommy John, who was a bedrock of our rotation during his time in pinstripes and a longtime favorite of Yankees fans. While his incredible longevity and post-surgery achievements changed the fortunes and trajectory of countless athletes around the world, it also overshadowed his excellence as a pitcher, which included consecutive 20‑win seasons with the Yankees. We pause to remember the totality of his legacy — his competitiveness and skill, his penchant for conversation, his kind and gracious nature, and his stature as an athletic and medical pioneer. The Yankees extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends, including wife, Cheryl, daughter, Tamara, and sons Tommy III and Travis. We also keep his son Taylor in our hearts."

Tommy John, the namesake of a ligament-replacement surgery that paved a path to recovery for injured baseball players, has died. He was 83.
TMZ.com cited a statement released by John's agent, Mike Maguire, saying the pitcher passed away at his home in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., surrounded by his wife, Cheryl, and family. John had been in hospice care in Bradenton, Fla.
The New York Yankees released a statement on Sunday following the news of John's passing.
"The New York Yankees mourn the passing of Tommy John, who was a bedrock of our rotation during his time in pinstripes and a longtime favorite of Yankees fans," the statement read. Tommy John, the namesake and first recipient of baseball's most important surgery, died on Sunday, the New York Yankees announced. He was 83 years old.
John was reported to be entering hospice in early August, two years after he announced a battle with bladder cancer. He took the occasion to pen a goodbye letter to fans and other acquaintances on the day of the New York Yankees' Old-Timers' Day, where he was a frequent participant.
"While his incredible longevity and post-surgery achievements changed the fortunes and trajectory of countless athletes around the world, it also overshadowed his excellence as a pitcher, which included consecutive 20‑win seasons with the Yankees," the team's statement read. "We pause to remember the totality of his legacy — his competitiveness and skill, his penchant for conversation, his kind and gracious nature, and his stature as an athletic and medical pioneer."
Thanks to the surgery, John's career spanned 27 years, appearing for six different teams and racking up 288 wins. Only 25 pitchers in MLB history have more wins, and only two — known steroid user Roger Clemens and dead-ball era star Bobby Matthews — are not enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
John remains a notable exclusion from Cooperstown, between his successful career and presence in the operating room that changed baseball.

If the Wrigley Chewing Gum company weren't so deeply **** ociated with the arch-rivals of the St. Louis ballclub, they'd probably offer the Cardinals the opportunity to be the new face of Doublemint Gum, on account of all the double killings they turned tonight. In the absence of an endorsement deal, the Redbirds will have to settle for winning the game.
The Phillies put runners on the corners on the first, but didn't convert them into runs. And the same was true in the second, as the Phillies put runners on the corners and saw the inning end on a Justin Crawford 6-4-3 GIDP. The Cardinals soon found themselves in a comparable situation, putting runners on first and third against Cristopher Sánchez on singles from José Fermin and Masyn Winn. And the Redbirds, wanting to be gracious and considerate hosts, chose not to upstage their visitors and promptly hit into a 5-4-3 twin killing. The Phillies, however, misunderstood this kind gesture, thinking that home team was trying to upstage them with a GIDP slightly fancier than the standard 6-4-3. "We can match that," said the Phils. And so it was that in the next inning they did indeed replicate the 5-4-3 DP, via grounder from Bryce Harper.
The **** embled masses, Philadelphia Phaithful and toasted ravioli-eating St. Louis partisans alike, cried "stop! No more!" But their calls went unheeded. The Cardinals, their dander up and their ire drawn, one-upped the Phillies by hitting into a 4-6-3 version of the pitcher's best friend. to conclude the bottom of the third. The arms race was on. Your faithful recapper sprinted to his bookshelf, removed his copy of the **** son Baseball Dictionary, flipped to the entry on double plays, and groaned upon realizing that only four synonyms were listed; one was used two sentences ago, and the others weren't distinct enough to be of use (technically you can shorten double play to just double, but isn't that confusing?)
In the fourth inning, the first two Phillies batters, Luis Arraez and J.T. Realmuto, made outs, thus ensuring the chain of double plays would at last be broken. But while the double plays ended, offense was still hard to find. In the top of the fifth, Alec Bohm sent a slider flying to center, where Everson Pereira leapt and came down with it elegantly; poetry in motion, and frustration in action for the Phillies. The Cardinals proved no more adept at scoring in their portion of the fifth, and then in the sixth the double play chain began again, with the Phillies matching the 4-6-3 their avian foe hit into earlier.
The Phillies faced the Redbird bullpen in the seventh, with Brady Pallante departing after six scoreless, with four hits and just two Ks. His replacement, George Soriano, quickly induced two outs, then allowed a single to Brandon Marsh and a walk to Bohm. That brought up Justin Crawford, who lined out. The scoring drought continued.

"I haven't worked for a year since making The Odyssey," Morton said on the podcast. She noted that she has "really good agents and a manager." He was the president of the Immortals, the Invincibles and the Amazing Ones. He oversaw **** les, Ballon d'Or wins and records. He was a president full of life, with AC Milan at heart. The Rossoneri fans loved him, his sporting opponents respected him. Silvio Berlusconi and his helicopter, Silvio Berlusconi and his vision.
He planned and brought together squads with a wealth of options so as to compete on all fronts, he desired and dreamed of playing attacking football at home and away, and he always held to the idea that one's opponent is an integral part of sport. He never made himself an enemy of anybody but was a fierce competitor, who required his opponents to be at the top of their game. He was not to be beaten with clenched fists. His vision of football was a game pleasing to the eye and soul, not dedicated to madness and violence. He always showed others that this was the way. He was the Presidentissimo of Italian football.
"Silvio, Milano loves you". That was the welcome from the fans that greeted him 37 years ago, when AC Milan were suffering, languishing, at risk of a worse fate. And he responded with that courageous, infectious smile. He made a lot of significant and very brave investments. He smiled in victory and in defeat. He brought first-place and podium finishes to AC Milan, though he was always gracious when the **** le went elsewhere.
Now, it's time for the great, unforgettable Cavaliere to take his final journey. On either side of the path, there will be a guard of honour from fans and directors, from coaches and players. His father Luigi will be waiting up there for him, as will Rosa, his mother. They will already be receiving him with a warm embrace and telling him how football fans are applauding him. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. Everyone united in applause, just as he would have wanted. Silvio, you are still loved here.

ESPN took the extremely ungracious step of informing NFL ******* yst Ryan Clark that he was being laid off while on the air. (At least it happened during a break.) Clark has opted to be far more gracious in his first public comment on the move.
"Sending prayers and love to all those laid off today by ESPN," Clark tweeted. "So many of you have poured your life into that company, & I know how you're feeling right now. My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!"
It really was a ******* py, amateurish, Mickey Mouse move (which at to the last part technically is on brand). If, as has been reported, the goal was to prevent Clark from finding out about his fate from media reports, that's still better than telling him about it while he was ON THE AIR.
Think about what that does to every ESPN employee who is on the air today, and for the foreseeable future. Logic suggests they won't do it again. But logic goes out the window when the mind wanders about the possibility that what happened to Clark will happen to them.
At least one other person who has been targeted for layoff found out, we're told, from a member of the media and not from ESPN.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight king Israel Adesanya is going in a new direction.

Posting a video on his personal YouTube channel on Thursday ****** led “I’m Leaving CKB,” Adesanya explained that he was doing just that: departing the confines of Auckland, New Zealand-based camp City Kickboxing. The 36-year-old ex-kickboxer has fallen on hard times as of late, dropping four straight, although two of his last four outings were for his old middleweight ****** le.

The split came effective May 20, per “The Last Stylebender,” who does so a little under two months after losing to Joe Pyfer by knockout in the UFC Seattle headliner. Per the fighter, he needed a fresh start, and most importantly, personalized training instead of being in a room full of top-ranked athletes who all vie for attention from the coaches. Adesanya claimed it had been brewing for a while, and that he still mourns the absence of the team as a main part of his life.
Adesanya stated, “So [Wednesday, May 20], I spoke to [head coach] Eugene [Bareman] face-to-face, and I told him I am not coming back to CKB,” Adesanya opened with in his video. “This was something a long time coming behind the scenes, and we have an understanding. I won’t lie; it sucks.”

He continued, “Grief comes in waves for me. For most people, I’ve grieved before, so this, it comes in waves. I’ve had great days, but also there’s days where I’m like [exasperated sigh]. And it’s a long time coming, I just want to get it out [of] the way because I want you to hear from the horse’s mouth because no one else has spoken about it. I guess those who know are waiting for the ball to drop, so [motions a ball dropping] I dropped the ball.”

The former champion was simultaneous gracious for those that helped him grow over the years and crestfallen that it was the end of an era.

“It’s bittersweet,” he admitted, “but it’s the right thing for me. Especially where I am at in my career, it’s exactly what I needed. Insanity is doing the same s--t and expecting different results, so…I think that’s it, I just don’t want to talk about it. It’s something like I said that sucks, I want to grieve in peace.”

Having a bit more to get out after all, the Nigerian-born athlete carried on, saying, “[If] people want to bring it up, that’s cool, don’t ask me about it…2009 is when I first went to CKB, 2010 is when I moved over, and I established myself in Auckland to train at CKB. CKB made me into the fighter that I am today. They’ve trained a lot of great fighters. Greats, even better than myself, but me as an individual, CKB made me into the fighter that I am today. But also, I was one of the main pillars who put CKB on the map on the world stage. To take it to the next level, where people from all over the world want to come train at CKB, and I’m proud of that.”

The former Glory kickboxing ****** le challenger thanked a number of people who helped him over the years, not limited to coach Bareman and fellow

Alexandra Eala dumps out Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek and is left shocked by her reaction originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
WIMBLEDON — Alexandra Eala pulled off the biggest win of her career to knock out defending Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek, reaching the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time in her career.
The Filipina recorded a shock 7-6 (11-9), 6-2 victory on Centre Court that saw her save two set points in the opener to become the first from her country to advance to the second week of a major.
While Swiatek was gracious in defeat, she admitted struggling against Eala's "slow" serve did cause her problems.
"I think it was tougher mentally for me to accept these missed returns from the slow serves. I got to say it's much tougher to return a serve like that than a normal serve," No.3 seed Swiatek said.

Kid Rock has revealed his friendship with U.S. President Donald Trump gives him a "front-row seat" to politics.
In a new interview for Sky News for the documentary, Trump's America: 250 Years in the Making, host Paul Murray asked the singer-songwriter, real name Robert Ritchie, about his connection with the American leader.
In response, Rock described Trump as "f**king awesome" and shared that the president will text him randomly.
"It's one of my late-night drinking tricks because I know when to get him," he said. "He's so gracious, he always picks up or he'll call and check in just to shoot the s**t. There is exactly one rule that has never bent at House of Nanking, the cramped, beloved Shanghainese spot in San Francisco's Chinatown: everyone waits. No one skips the line. Not Francis Ford Coppola, not anyone. So, in 1997, when a young actor in all black turned up hoping for a table, Peter Fang did what he did to everybody.
His daughter Kathy, then a starstruck fan, recognized the man instantly and begged her father to let him skip the line. As Kathy told the SF Standard, her dad refused without budging, which is its own kind of immigrant-parent comedy. "Not only do they not give an inch, but they can embarrass you, all within five minutes," she said.
The embarrassment was just getting started. Peter, who didn't watch many movies, walked over, took one look at the famous-seeming customer, and reached for the only relevant name filed in his head. "Kathy, come take a picture!" he called out. "It's him! It's Sean Connery!"
It was not Sean Connery. It was Keanu Reeves.
Mortified, Kathy apologized on her father's behalf. Reeves, by every account the most gracious man in show business, took it perfectly.
