Growth in the evergreen fund market is being driven by the largest listed alternative managers. But there are ***** et classes in which size is likely to be a weakness rather than a strength in catering to individual investors.
This, at least, is what venture capital and growth equity manager Fairway Capital Management is banking on.
Founded in 2020 by a group of former executives with Adams Street Partners, led by former COO Kevin Callahan, the Chicago manager raised two venture-capital funds of funds with combined commitments of $52 million, including a sizeable GP commitment, before launching an evergreen fund of funds at the end of 2021.
Fairway Private Equity & Venture Capital Opportunities Fund, which makes VC, private equity and private credit investments, aims to offer individuals access to funds and managers "typically only available to large institutional investors." It held about $26.3 million in net ***** ets as of March 31, 2026, per regulatory filings.
While firms such as Blackstone and Apollo Global Management have had success launching evergreen products focused on easily scalable ***** et classes, such as infrastructure and large buyout, VC is inherently "capacity constrained," according to Callahan.

Partners Group is replacing its CEO as the firm reported mixed interim results against the backdrop of redemption pressure on its evergreen products.
David Layton, who has been sole CEO since 2021 and with the firm since 2005, will step down to become CIO and chair of the global investment committee.
Roberto Cagnati and Juri Jenkner, both hired in 2004, will take over as co-CEOs effective January 1, 2027.
"At this point in the year, if you're not already signed and marching towards exit, there's just uncertainty there."
The performance fee generation in evergreen programs was also impacted by the lower performance in select mature PE portfolios in H1.

NEW YORK, Aug 21 (Reuters) - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday charged a former senior Bank of America investment banker with insider trading, ‌alleging he tipped a longtime friend and former colleague about a pending merger, allowing ‌the friend to make $18.5 million of illegal profit.
Jason Satsky, who was Bank of America's co-head of Americas power and renewable energy banking, allegedly tipped Gavin Wolfe in late 2021 about the potential acquisition of South Jersey Industries, an energy holding company that the bank was advising.
The SEC said Wolfe, who runs the firm Evergreen Capital and has been Satsky's friend for more than 20 years, bought more than 2.2 million ‌shares of the South Jersey Gas ⁠parent worth about $53 million, and realized a 36% gain after the company announced an $8.1 billion buyout on February 24, 2022.
Satsky and Wolfe allegedly communicated multiple times ⁠about a possible acquisition, including when they and their wives attended a nationally televised college basketball game between Duke and Kentucky at Madison Square Garden, where Satsky had luxury box seats obtained through Bank of America.

SC Freiburg and Mainz 05 recorded wins over French teams in friendlies played on Saturday. The Europa League finalists extended Strasbourg's poor pre-season with two 2-0 victories, while Mainz stunningly beat Paris FC 4-0.
The first game between Freiburg and Strasbourg was played with two 35-minute halves. Youngster Rouven Tarnutzer and evergreen winger Vincenzo Grifo scored the goals inside the first 20 minutes.
Lucas Höler scored both goals for Freiburg with headers as they later repeated that scoreline when the two clubs played 90 minutes with different lineups. Including another heavy defeat to Bundesliga debutants Elversberg, Strasbourg are yet to score a goal in preseason.

Custom Health Holdings Inc (TSX:CHLT) has signed a binding letter of intent to acquire Wisconsin-based Evergreen Pharmacy LLC in a deal expected to add more than US$78 million in annual revenue to the company.
Under the terms of the letter of intent, Custom Health will pay a total purchase price of US$3.5 million, including at least US$1 million of prescription drug inventory and US$450,000 of net working capital. The purchase price is payable in cash on closing, subject to a US$175,000 indemnity holdback for six months following closing.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Custom Health's ability to support patients managing complex therapies and expand its operating footprint across the US Midwest.
Shares of Custom Health were up 8.3% in Canada.
Evergreen is licensed to provide pharmacy services in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan, with the ability to expand into Minnesota.

SINGAPORE, June 26 (Reuters) - Saudi Aramco resumed crude loadings on Friday at its Ras Tanura terminal in the Gulf after a near four-month halt, shipping data showed, as the world's biggest oil exporter joined a rush to move cargoes amid ‌industry hopes of a return to normal.
The Saudi oil loadings come even though a ship belonging to Taiwan's Evergreen Marine was hit by ‌an unknown object in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday.
Middle Eastern producers had been ramping up oil and gas output and exports in the lead-up to the interim deal between the United States and Iran to halt the war and reopen the strait where a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies used to pass.
Two Very Large Crude Carriers controlled by Saudi's shipping arm Bahri were seen loading crude at Ras Tanura, the world's biggest oil port, while another waited nearby, the data showed. Each VLCC is capable of loading 2 million barrels of oil.

However, that market volatility and macroeconomic uncertainty will also fuel more demand for its subscription-based market intelligence and commodity insights services. It's not hard to see why UW secondary coach John Richardson put an offer out to Mitchell, having developed a pair of tall cornerbacks, Ephesians Prysock and Tacario Davis, into NFL draft picks this past April. Though the top 10 in-state prospect, based on 247Sports' Composite rankings, isn't as polished or as highly-rated as both previous UW cornerbacks were, there is more than enough clay to work with at the next level.
Mitchell has the tools to hold up outside at the Power Four level, possessing ideal cover skills and more than enough size to have a productive career on defense should he choose that path.
With four of the 10 highest-rated recruits in the Evergreen State secured in the 2027 class, UW may be poised to add another in Mitchell, though it might still be a few months before a potential flip in his commitment status occurs.
