The Tennessee ******* ans hosted the Chicago Bears for their third and final preseason game of 2026 on Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a rough start, with the ******* ans going three-and-out, followed by a Bears' 97-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the next drive.
The Bears never really looked back after that, and while the ******* ans fought back later in the game, they ultimately fell short and lost 24-15.
Part of the reason the ******* ans managed to fight back was because of the play of second-year edge rusher Femi Oladejo.
Oladejo's name was called several times during the game after making plays that halted the progress of the Bears' offense, and that's why he's been named this week's ******* ans Wire Player of the Game.
Oladejo recorded four tackles (two solo), one sack, one quarterback hit, and one tackle for a loss. But the key to those stats is when they occurred. Wingers come in different guises and at different prices. On the day Liverpool agreed to pay up to £123m for Bradley Barcola, the man signed for rather less, and with rather less fanfare, again spared Andoni Iraola a first defeat of his reign. On Sunday at Newcastle, Victor Munoz won the penalty that produced Dominik Szoboszlai's 99th-minute equaliser. On his Anfield bow, the £34m Spaniard delivered a devastating equaliser.
That both contributions came from the right flank, though he had started on the left against Nottingham Forest, may be pertinent. The presumption is that Barcola will be used on the left. While Liverpool are yet to replace Mohamed Salah, they got two equalisers from the men stationed in his old spot here, with Cody Gakpo affording Alexander Isak a tap-in. The Dutchman is scarcely a right winger and faces an uncertain future at the end of the window. If Munoz had a fine introduction, this could prove Gakpo's goodbye, and his was a valiant effort.
An encouraging element for Liverpool is that Iraola has exerted an impact with his changes in each of his first two games. Munoz, who came on at St James' Park, swapped flanks at Anfield, took Florian Wirtz's pass, span and unleashed a vicious shot, even if a deflection off Murillo helped. McCord, a second-year player out of Syracuse who spent last season on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad, completed 22 of 35 passes for 226 yards and no interceptions. He was the only Packers quarterback to see action in a game contested by mostly reserves.

Week 18 memories can haunt you, and while Tyler Loop did not cost the Baltimore Ravens a game Friday night, his temperament will be something to monitor. Baltimore defeated the Washington Commanders by 38 points, and every one of his attempts came with the result already headed in one dominant direction. Still, that does not mean the Ravens should dismiss what happened.

"(Harrison) Butker, highest of highs, lowest of lows, really, in the same game. Really encouraged about the kick he made, I mean that first 58-yarder and the other one, too, but the 69 yarder–to know that we can do that, in that situation with three seconds left in a half or a game, a possible game winner." said Toub, "You have to sit there and weigh the odds as a Hail Mary, or is it that? Which gives you the best chance to get points, you (can) possibly win a game with that, I mean that's pretty encouraging."
Butker converted on three field goals, one of which was a long of 69 yards, marking the longest preseason field goal in franchise history.

Before she had the fall that would leave her paralysed at the age of 23, she had 25 horses that she trained and rode in a business she had been running since she was 15 and was a talented eventer on a pathway towards the Olympics.
Eight years earlier her parents had sold their house to buy a yard to support her career, with the family living in two tiny touring caravans for six years before they converted part of a barn into a home.
For years, Cresswell had been up at 5am, riding four ponies before school, then more afterwards - if she even went in. She puts her school attendance at "68% or something ridiculous" because she was "so busy riding".

Steve Nicol took umbrage with one post-match comment on the stoppage-time penalty decision in Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Sunday.
The Reds were awarded a spot kick deep into added time when Lewis Hall clashed into Victor Munoz inside the box, and Dominik Szoboszlai duly converted to ensure a share of the spoils at St James' Park.
Gary Neville said on co-commentary for Sky Sports that it was the right decision, insisting that the Magpies left-back fouled the Spanish winger and didn't get any of the ball, but the home side's head coach Matthias Jaissle argued that the awarding of the penalty was 'really soft'.
That comment from the 38-year-old annoyed Nicol, who retorted that there's no grey area when it comes to such penalty decisions.
The ex-Liverpool defender said on ESPN FC: "What does that mean? It's either a foul or it's not a foul. If it's a foul, it's a penalty and it's not soft. You can't have this 'soft' nonsense. If you're gonna come out with that…I'm sorry, I don't get it.

The Green Bay Packers' starting offense marched 66 yards in 12 plays against the Denver Broncos' first-team defense to open Friday night's preseason opener, and MarShawn Lloyd capped off the scoring drive with an 11-yard touchdown catch on third down in the red zone.
Jordan Love completed 5-of-7 passes on the opening drive, including the touchdown pass to Lloyd, who turned five touches into 19 total yards. On the scoring play, Lloyd ran a Texas route from the backfield, beat the man in coverage and burst into the end zone for six. Trey Smack added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.

When Daniel Duarte had his second elbow surgery in April 2024, most people the right-handed reliever spoke to believed his chances of getting back to the big league mound were a relative coin flip.
Duarte's 18-month recovery has the potential to be a lifetime in Major League Baseball. An opportunity in his native Mexico in the Mexican Pacific Winter League this past winter helped the right-hander regain his confidence. He did not allow an earned run in 24 innings and converted five saves.
Then, the Mets came calling with a minor league deal.
"I knew once I have the opportunity, I can show that I still can pitch in the big leagues," Duarte told NorthJersey.com this week. "First of all, I want to be healthy because in the past, there's been a couple of injuries, like one Tommy John and bone spurs and tendinitis, different kind of stuff. I'm glad that now I have no problems, healthy and doing what I like."

VivoPower PLC (NASDAQ:VIVO, FRA:51J) has fully retired the $28.8 million in shareholder debt it owed to AWN Holdings, eliminating the last of its principal obligation to the entity and sharpening its credit profile ahead of a planned AI data center buildout in Norway, according to a new ****** yst note from ****** le Capital Markets.
Of the total, $16.5 million was converted under the company's second PIPE offering, while the remaining $12.3 million was repaid in cash.
Analysts at ****** le said the move removes the ****** ociated interest expense and materially improves VivoPower's credit quality as it advances the Mo i Rana AI data center conversion.
The debt retirement follows a $50 million PIPE priced at $7.50 per share on July 29, led by Blue Sky Capital alongside Nordic, EU and GCC institutional and family-office investors. Proceeds from the raise are earmarked for the Mo i Rana project and further debt reduction.

Two fourth-quarter goals from Spanish forward Marc Reyne were enough to end Ireland's hopes of a top-eight finish at the World Cup as Mark Tumilty's side fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Needing a draw to make it through to the upper end of the crossover phase of the tournament, Ireland were more than holding their own against the world-ranked six side after 45 minutes.
After Spain had taken the lead through Nicolas Alvarez, the Irish dominated the second quarter and deservedly equalised when Lee Cole converted a penalty stroke.
Defensively solid, Ireland were 15 minutes away from pulling off the first major upset of the World Cup.

India's crushing victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle unearthed two potential long-term ****** ets in different departments — left-arm spinner Manav Suthar and batter Devdutt Padikkal.
Suthar, in particular, looks every bit a Test star in the making. In just two Tests, the 24-year-old has claimed 17 wickets at an average of 11.35, including two five-wicket hauls and his maiden 10-wicket match haul. In Galle, he showcased the classical virtues of left-arm spin, extracting loop, drift, turn and bounce.
Padikkal, meanwhile, grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Playing his first Test in 19 months after replacing the injured Sai Sudharsan at No. 3, the stylish left-hander marked his return with a majestic 167, the standout innings of the match, followed by a useful 44 in the second innings. "It's the subtle variations from the same action and angle. He can bowl slower or quicker without changing his arm speed. In Galle, he used the wind beautifully to get drift before the ball either straightened or came back in," Rahul said.
Rahul also praised Suthar's consistency in hitting the right areas.
"His greatest strength is his pace through the air and his ability to challenge every mode of dismissal. The line he bowls brings LBW into play, while any turn can produce catches behind. That's a special skill."

Charter operator Global Crossing Airlines has dismissed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against Ascent Global Logistics, its one-time largest shareholder, and terminated their exclusive brokerage agreement, ending a saga that contributed to the carrier's persistent difficulty generating business for its cargo fleet.
Miami-based Global Crossing, or GlobalX, sued Ascent Global Logistics on June 4 for $30 million in damages, alleging the former investment partner failed to honor an agreement to steer air cargo business its way and instead ******* igned charter work to USA Jet Airlines, its expedited on-demand freighter subsidiary with a large roster of automotive clients.
Signs quickly emerged that GlobalX (OTCQB: JETMF) got cold feet over fighting a larger partner, but an agreement to drop the lawsuit and settle differences wasn't made official until last week. The companies said they have ended their 2023 exclusive brokerage agreement. GlobalX has also agreed to payment terms for amounts owed to Ascent, according to a joint news release.
Payment terms were not disclosed, but it was publicly known that Ascent demanded the remaining $1.94 million balance of a $2.5 million prepayment to GlobalX to provide cargo flights to its customers. GlobalX claimed that Ascent, headquartered in Belleville, Michigan, only referred a handful of flights over a three-year period.
Most of GlobalX's business comes from contract flying for professional and college sports teams, the Department of Homeland Security, and other groups. But the startup company also controls four Airbus A321 narrowbody converted freighters that have never been able to deliver consistent cargo business, partly due to Ascent's efforts to stymie GlobalX in the North American regional market.

Wales and Pakistan played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in pool D at the Hockey World Cup in Amsterdam.
Abdul Rehman opened the scoring for Pakistan after three minutes with some brilliant aerial work along the baseline.
Wales, however, rallied in the second quarter, taking full advantage of a yellow card for Sufyan Khan.
Gareth Furlong's penalty corner was powerfully converted and Rhys Bradshaw gave Wales the lead 30 seconds later.
Khan returned from his yellow card to equalise from a penalty corner in the fourth quarter before a deflection from Hannan Shahid gave Pakistan the lead once more.
