Osnabrück fans may have been saddened by their team's elimination from the German Cup this Wednesday (2) against Bayern Munich.
But they deserve applause for the mosaic displayed in one of the stands before kickoff.
The supporters put together a representation of a roller coaster, complete with a cart moving along the tracks.
"VfL Osnabrück shoots off like a roller coaster!" read the main phrase on the mosaic.
See below how it looked:

The family of a 6-year-old New Jersey girl who died after a badminton racket came apart and pierced her skull during a Maine vacation is suing the Massachusetts-based maker of the sports equipment.
"This case represents a parent's worst nightmare," attorney Charles P. Hehmeyer, who is representing the family, said. "The Morgan family was enjoying an idyllic summer vacation here in Maine when they lost Lucy due to what we allege was a dangerous and defective piece of sports equipment."
The wrongful death and product-liability lawsuit alleges Franklin Sports sold a defective and unreasonably dangerous badminton racket that failed during normal use and turned its metal shaft into a projectile.
Lucy Morgan was vacationing with her parents and siblings in Limerick, Maine, on June 1, 2024, when the tragedy unfolded.

Florida State football commenced the 2026 season with a home opener at Doak S. Campbell Stadium against the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday, Aug. 29., where the Seminoles defeated the Aggies 34-17 in a roller coaster of a performance.
FSU started the game on defense after losing the coin toss. Despite the Aggies gaining some ground early on, the defense held strong. The crowd erupted after senior defensive back Quindarrius Jones intercepted a throw in the end zone to put the 'Noles on offense.
Following the turnover, the Garnet and Gold, led by fifth year quarterback Ashton Daniels, engineered a strong drive that brought them into the red zone. However, after Daniels was sacked on third and goal, Florida State was forced to settle for a field goal from senior kicker Gabe Panikowski to take an early 3-0 lead.
Later on in the first quarter, a screen pass from Daniels to senior running back Samuel Singleton Jr. set the Seminoles up inside the New Mexico State 10-yard line once again.
On third down, Daniels scored his first touchdown of the season as he evaded the blitz to give FSU a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. However, New Mexico State bounced back with a touchdown of their own as New Mexico State junior quarterback Trey Hedden connected with senior receiver Brodie Malone-Bradford to cut the Aggies' deficit to three.

Daytona was roller coaster of a night for Shane van Gisbergen, and it ended in disappointment for the No. 97 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet.
He watched Ryan Preece, Chris Buescher, and Kyle Larson all crash in front of him early in the running, clearing the way for SVG to earn his first-ever oval stage win and secure ten points.
However, Preece pulled off a remarkable save and suffered minimal damage. Even while sliding, he crossed the line in eighth and scored three points. He added another nine in Stage 2, bringing his total to 12.
Van Gisbergen spent the final stint of the race knowing that he had a 29-point cushion, which meant that Preece would have to beat Van Gisbergen by at least 30 positions on track (as SVG would win the tiebreaker) to make the Chase ... unless he won the race.
In a situation where Preece -- who entered Saturday's race 0-248 in Cup wins -- captured the checkered flag, Van Gisbergen couldn't afford to finish any worse than 11th.

During the August 24 episode of Mad Money, Jim Cramer pointed to the sharp reversal in AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) stock as he said:
What the heck happened to a stock we really like, AEVEX? I mean, here's a company that makes drones for the military, the single hottest part of the defense sector yet, its stock's been [on] a, let's call it, a roller coaster. AEVEX came public at $20 back in April, jumped nearly 35% the first day of trading, ultimately running as high as $42 and change a few days later. Now, though, it's fallen through the offer price, coming down to $18. I can't find out why.
Some of it's because AEVEX reported earlier this month, and Wall Street, I guess, didn't like the numbers. Stock got slammed. Didn't matter that it was a huge revenue beat. The earnings and backlog both came in weaker than expected, but not that much. Still, I think demand remains strong. They keep winning a lot of new business. At the same time, AEVEX is trying to buy BlackSea Technologies for as much as $650 million in stock and cash, which is a lot of money when you're a $2 billion company. This would give them exposure to unmanned ships and submarines, which they could tie into their drone software system.
AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) reported $201.8 million of revenue for the second quarter, up 99.5% from $101.1 million a year earlier. Net income improved to $6.7 million from a loss of $11.8 million, while adjusted EBITDA rose to $28.1 million from $3.6 million. Most of the growth came from AEVEX's tactical systems business. Revenue in the segment increased to $174.2 million, up 141.6% year over year, driven by higher UAS product and support revenue.
AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) ended the second quarter with $259.8 million of funded backlog, down from $503.1 million at the end of 2025. That represents a decline of roughly 48%. The company said the $243.3 million decline was primarily due to revenue recognized from the EUCOM AOR Deep Strike program. The company also said the balance was affected by an increase in shorter-cycle customer orders. AEVEX continued to secure new business during the quarter, including contracts for UAS and engineering services, mission-support capabilities, and advanced unmanned mission capabilities.

Olivia Munn has a lot going on. The star of Apple TV's "Your Friends & Neighbors" is busy filming the series' third season while parenting her two children, Malcom and Méi, with her husband, John Mulaney, and serving as the new face of Anne Klein's fall-winter 2026 campaign. All of this while getting ready for fashion month and the upcoming 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony.
But Munn is a master of finding beauty in the chaos. Especially after a roller coaster last few years, in which the actress battled back-to-back health issues. Following the birth of her son in 2021, Munn's battled the depths of postpartum anxiety.
Then, in April 2023, the actress was diagnosed with "an aggressive, fast-moving" Luminal B breast cancer in both ****** . Having detected the cancer early, she acted quickly, and by the following year, Munn had five successful surgeries, including a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, and a partial hysterectomy. Then, in September 2024, she welcomed her daughter via surrogate.
Now, with the dust of the last few years settling, Munn is recentering her focus on what brings her happiness, such as going back to work, hanging out with her close girlfriends, date nights with her husband, and all things fashion. And even better yet, advocacy through fashion.
"Women change women's lives," Munn tells USA Today of her partnership with Anne Klein. The famed American designer herself died at the age of 50 from breast cancer in 1974. "Sometimes the most important thing you can do is remind another woman to take that next step with their health. Those are the meaningful connections that sometimes really can lift you out of your fog."

Heather Watson and Harriet Dart will go head-to-head for a place in the US Open main draw as six British players made it through to the third and final qualifying round in New York.
Watson kept alive her hopes of a first US Open singles main-draw appearance in five years by overcoming Spain's Angela Fita Boluda in a rollercoaster encounter lasting nearly three hours.
The 34-year-old was twice a break up in the third set and served for the match - only to be taken to a deciding 10-point tie-break.
However, she held her nerve to seal a 6-4 5-7 7-6 (10-5) win.
That set up a meeting with Dart, who earlier produced a 5-7 6-0 6-3 win against American 16-year-old Kristina Penickova.

SoundHound AI (NASDAQ: SOUN) stock has gone on quite the roller-coaster ride over the past few years. It was trading below $2 a share in January 2024, but topped out at over $24 per share at the end of that year. It nearly hit that high again in late 2025, but has come down significantly since then, and now trades at just over $7 per share. While hype about the company may have driven its stock up and the vacuum left behind when that buzz dissipated caused it to sink, SoundHound AI has been doing pretty well on the business front.
It has several exciting propositions that could make it a giant in the AI ***** e, but could it be your ticket to becoming a millionaire?
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
When measuring a single stock's potential to make an investor a millionaire, I think setting the initial investment at $10,000 is reasonable. Starting from an investment of that size, the stock would need to deliver a 100x return to transform the stake into a $1 million position.
Does SoundHound AI have that kind of upside potential? Today, it has a $3.12 billion market cap, so it would need to grow into a $312 billion company -- which is still smaller than another hot AI software stock, Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR), which is now valued at $420 billion. Palantir's tools for integrating AI features into business workflows have become quite popular. If SoundHound AI's audio recognition and AI integration software gains a similar level of popularity, then I think it's entirely possible the stock could deliver life-changing returns to long-term shareholders.

Nikki Garcia is no longer worried about getting back into the dating pool.
Nearly two years after her split from Artem Chigvintsev, the former WWE star confessed to her twin sister that she is completely at peace with being alone.
Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev first connected as partners on "Dancing With the Stars" before reconnecting years later. They welcomed their son Matteo and married in 2022, but their relationship unraveled after a rollercoaster in 2024, and they finalized their divorce later that year.

DETROIT — I'm calling it. The Tigers are toast.
It's been another rollercoaster of a season for Detroit's baseball team, which two years ago bucked 0.2% odds, and last year blew a 16.5-game lead in the division. Both seasons, the Tigers ended up in the playoffs and actually won a playoff series. Not this year. This year, the rollercoaster has crashed, burned and there's no coming back from that.
The Tigers entered last weekend's home series against the Chicago White Sox with a chance to take over first place in the American League Central with a sweep. They got swept, and that was the beginning of the end.
Since the start of that series, the Tigers have lost seven of eight games, including the first two games of this weekend's series against the Royals in Kansas City. They now are 61-68, seven games under .500 for the first time since mid-July. They are six games back of the White Sox.
And, the worst, they are 2.5 games back of the final wild-card spot, which doesn't seem all that daunting, until you consider this: There are seven teams in the hunt for that final playoff spot, and the Tigers sit seventh in that race. Jumping one, two or even three teams is doable, still with 33 games to go. Jumping six? Yeah, they're toast.

Jessica Pegula rallied from a break down in the final set to topple defending champion Iga Swiatek 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 on Saturday and reach the final of the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Masters.
World number three Pegula needed nearly three hours to dethrone Swiatek as the duo rode a rollercoaster of breaks and re-breaks before the 31-year-old American took a 5-4 lead in the final set after Swiatek saved three break points but double-faulted on a fourth.
Pegula quickly closed it out, firing a service winner on match point to reach Sunday's championship match in the US Open tune-up.
"Crazy match today," Pegula said. "A lot of back and forth, a lot of breaks," Pegula said, "Really windy, kind of odd conditions. I felt like we were playing well and then not playing well.
"It was really tough to kind of get a gauge on the match.

During their wild roller coaster 2025 season, which included several comeback victories, the Chicago Bears energized the city and their fanbase to great lengths, also getting their first playoff victory since the 2010 season.
In head coach Ben Johnson's first season, Bears fans were going viral on social media for their celebrations. But after their loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional playoffs, no one in the Bears organization is resting on year of fun, including All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney.
Thuney's arrival was part of an extreme makeover to the offensive line ahead of the 2025 season, and as he went on to win the NFL's Protector of the Year award, the Bears offense went to another level with quarterback Caleb Williams. Recently, Thuney said he enjoyed all the viral moments the team and fans had last year, but that the team is not settling on their success from last year.
"It was special, so many videos after the game of close wins, seeing families hugging and crying together," Thuney said. "Chicago is such an iconic franchise, and it's great getting back into the playoffs, getting a win, and winning the NFC North. But there are still more things to achieve. ******* ody in this building is satisfied or resting on that. There's still a very strong, burning hunger to push for more and keep improving."
It's very clear the atmosphere that Johnson has created inside the Bears organization. And when it comes to Thuney, he's a leader in the locker room for reasons such as these comments. Chicago hopes to keep building on their 11-win season from 2025, and it is apparent that the team recognizes they'll need to sustain long-term success while also positioning themselves as Super Bowl contenders.

Offshore fishing teams are used to battling huge waves, but big waves are no comparison to the emotional roller coaster experienced by two Charleston crews in the White Marlin Open fished Aug. 3-8 in Ocean City, Md.
Anxiety! Stress! Pride! Mister Pete and Bull Pen were in line to earn paydays soaring into the millions, but at the same time they were thinking of that famous line by Yogi Berra: "It ain't over till it's over."
But when it was over, Mister Pete had earned the top prize in one of the largest (334 boats) and most prestigious billfish tournaments. And Bull Pen finished third but earned the second-highest payout in the tournament. Mister Pete, a 60-foot Spencer owned by brothers Bob and Rusty McClam and captained by Alan Neiford, won $3,503,891.54 for catching an 80-pound white marlin on Aug. 6.
The day before, Bull Pen, a 62-foot Bayliss owned by Todd Wigfield and captained by Cordes Lucas, had brought in the first eligible white marlin, a 70-pound catch that could have been worth more than $5 million if Mister Pete hadn't landed its fish. Bull Pen won $1,818,546.84, more than five times the amount of the second-place fish. Reel Hunter out of St. Michael's, Md., caught a 71.5-pound white marlin on Aug. 7 but didn't enter as many divisions as Bull Pen and finished with a $360,721.49 payday.
To be eligible for prizes, a white marlin must measure 70 inches from the tip of its lower jaw to the fork of the tail, and it must weigh at least 70 pounds. And those were the exact measurements of Bull Pen's fish caught by James Hood.

Michael B. Jordan and Raye were recently seen together for the very first time, but there may not be anything romantic between them. On August 7, they were spotted riding roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.

British singer Raye and Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan have fans talking. The two fueled romance rumors after being spotted together at Six Flags Magic Mountain outside Los Angeles over the weekend.
Raye and Michael B. Jordan enjoyed roller coasters at the theme park on Aug. 7, E! News reports. They boarded one of the park's rides and chatted. The singer and actor-director took on several roller coasters during their outing. Jordan opted for a laid-back look with beige overalls, a white T-shirt and baseball cap, while Raye wore an all-black outfit.
Videos and photos of the duo shared across social media left fans buzzing with excitement and speculation. One fan wrote, "I'm tripping, she's definitely getting a proposal." Another commented, "The celebrity dating universe keeps dropping unexpected crossover episodes." Many fans wondered if the 28-year-old Where Is My Husband singer had finally found her husband.
The outing comes after Jordan's split from Lori Harvey, his last public relationship. The former couple dated from 2020 until their split in 2022. In 2024, Jordan told Jay Shetty's podcast that he sometimes feels "lonely" but wasn't ready to date again, The Sun states.
The 39-year-old described, "There's a loneliness that I have; the worst part of that is the feeling like **** ody really understands. Sometimes falling into the **** es of being alone, feeling alone." However, he said he'd be open to finding love and admitted that he "wants a family eventually," adding, "I'm not looking, but it would take a very special person to understand and grow with me."

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he wouldn't be surprised if Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, who's competing for the QB2 job behind starter Daniel Jones, has played his last down in Indy:
It's been a roller coaster ride for the 2023 4th overall pick of the Colts, who had a promising start to his pro career as a rookie in a limited 4 starts that same season, before being lost to a season-ending shoulder injury.
Richardson endured a 'sophomore slump' a year later, where his maturity was questioned following his infamous in-game tap-out incident, and it's been a myriad of injuries that have kept him off the field ever since—including a freak accident in Week 6 last season when a medical band snapped during pre-game work, which would cause him to miss the remaining 2025 season. The Colts could've certainly used Richardson after Jones went down with an Achilles tear during Week 14 of last year, but as mentioned, he wasn't available himself as a backup.
There's been plenty of blame to go around for both sides. The Colts initially said he needed snaps and game day reps after drafting him, only to reverse course, and say he wasn't ready—and should've sat to begin his pro career in retrospect. Indianapolis never surrounded him with a willing veteran mentor at quarterback either.
Even overlooking the injuries, Richardson's passing accuracy remains a critical deficiency for him to take the next step, and it's a fair question of whether he was doing everything on and off the field to lead the team as their new QB1—and the fresh CEO of W. 56th Street team headquarters.

Sinners actor Michael B Jordan and British actress Raye have sparked romance rumors after they were spotted on a theme park ride together at an LA amusement park.
The Oscar winner was captured alongside the "Where Is My Husband" vocalist at Six Flags Magic Mountain over the weekend. The pair were pictured chatting on the rollercoaster, seemingly unaware they were being watched.
Fans captured photos and videos of the actor and "Escapism" singer on the rides, laughing and chatting behind rollercoaster handlebars. The pair were reportedly joined by Jordan's younger brother, Khalid.
Last year, the 39-year-old Black Panther actor was linked to actress Taylor Russell after they were spotted on London's Oxford Street together. He previously dated Lori Harvey between 2020 and 2022, reportedly splitting due to being at different stages of life.
He told Jay Shetty's podcast in 2024 that he gets "lonely" but isn't ready to date again yet. "There's a loneliness that I have; the worst part of that is the feeling like ***** ody really understands. Sometimes falling into the ***** es of being alone, feeling alone," the Swapped actor admitted.

HOUSTON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Brent crude oil climbed more than $1 a barrel on Friday over ongoing uncertainty about the negotiations in progress that determine control of, and reopen, the key shipping artery of the Strait of ‌Hormuz.
Brent crude futures settled at $83.55 a barrel, gaining $1.06, or 1.3%. West Texas Intermediate futures finished at $78.18 a barrel, ‌up 89 cents, or 1.15%.
Oil futures settled more than $3 a barrel higher on Thursday as Iran reviewed a bill to ban U.S. and Israeli vessels from the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly a fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas normally passed before the war began at the end of February.
Oil prices fell earlier in the week as a possible solution to the conflict looked more likely, part of an on-again, off-again pattern that has persisted since the U.S. and Israel jointly struck the nation in late February, igniting a conflict ‌that has now stretched into a sixth month. Brent was on course for a weekly loss of more than 8%, while WTI lost more than 7%.
While this week's signals on a potential deal have sent a roller-coaster ride in market sentiment, the market remains in the dark as to what needs to happen for the agreement to be clinched, said Vandana Hari, founder of oil market ****** ysis provider Vanda Insights.

Michael B Jordan and Raye have sparked dating rumours.
The pair were spotted spending time together at Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park outside Los Angeles at the weekend.
In a viral photo shared to social media, the duo boarded a roller coaster, with the singer smiling at the Sinners actor as they chatted happily, while fans looked on.
Jordan's theme park appearance with Raye follows a string of high-profile pairings, beginning with Kendall Jenner, with whom he was spotted leaving the same Met Gala after-party in New York City back in 2015.
He was subsequently briefly linked to If Beale Street Could Talk star Kiki Layne, and French fashion model Cindy Bruna, after being spotted out with them.
Jordan's most publicly visible romance was with model Lori Harvey, whom he dated from around autumn 2020 to mid-2022.

There are plenty of new faces in new places as the 2026 college football season inches closer. Some of these coaches in the first year with their new programs are tasked with resetting the culture, others are expected to bring a sense of stability, and a select few are burdened with the mandate to win right away.
Penn State head coach Matt Campbell certainly won't be fired or reprimanded if he struggles in his first year in Happy Valley, but this is a proud program that won't accept mediocrity or underachievement for very long. Brad Crawford of CBS Sports predicted the records for each new coach this season, and the Nittany Lions' leader got a respectable estimate at 9-3.
This record is tied for third-best among all of Crawford's coaching predictions, with Utah coach Morgan Scalley and LSU coach Lane Kiffin ranked higher. Campbell is even expected to do better than Kyle Whittingham at Michigan, who is arguably walking into a much easier situation with a lot more talent.
9-3 likely wouldn't be enough to get into the College Football Playoff, but it would secure a Bowl Game and be a much smoother ride than last year's rollercoaster. Crawford has Penn State going 6-3 in the Big Ten, likely meaning losses against Michigan and USC. It hopefully wouldn't be a sign of things to come, but after more than a decade of big-game blunders under the leadership of James Franklin, it would be a relief for fans if Campbell didn't begin his tenure losing two of his only big games in the conference.
It's tough to gauge any team's standing right now with no games or scrimmages happening, but the vibes seem to be positive around the Nittany Lions at the moment. Let's see if they can parlay this energy into a successful season that shocks some people.

Football is almost here. In less than 30 days, we'll once again spend every Saturday riding an emotional roller coaster, letting our moods rise and fall based on the performance of our favorite group of 18 to 22-year-old athletes (or, thanks to today's college football landscape, maybe a little older than that).
I'm sure most of you have spent the offseason tracking every recruiting commitment, transfer portal addition, and position battle from spring practice until now. But on the off chance you've managed to enjoy your summer without obsessively refreshing social media, let me tell you something, brother — I've got you covered.
Football and professional wrestling both thrive on larger-than-life personalities. It only feels right to blend the two. So before the Illini march into another season, before Memorial Stadium is rocking, and before every third-and-long has us asking ourselves, "Can you smell what Bret Bielema is cooking?", let's have a little fun.
Some of these comparisons are based on playing style. Some are built on personality. Others are all about aura. Either way, when the lights come on, the crowd is loud, and it's time to play the game, every one of these Illini has a wrestling counterpart. Now, let's hit the entrance music and make our way down the card.
Not the flashiest guy in the room. Technically sound, dependable, and if Illinois wins 9-10 games it'll be because he did everything right.

Yordan Alvarez can add to his MLB lead in home runs with another homer today.
The MLB best home run bets are mired in a genuinely frustrating funk, with 10 consecutive incorrect home run props. The long-shot nature of home run bets means losing streaks are part of the rollercoaster ride.
That said, they're also priced as long-shot bets, meaning a low rate of successful picks can still generate a profit. To that point, the best home run bets have an 18-69 record, with three no-bets, but they've generated $261 in profit for anyone who has bet $100 on each of the touted home run props at the listed odds.
There isn't much wiggle room to miss on home run props without drying up the season's profits. Fortunately, two home run props stand out from the pack today as get-right opportunities to turn things around. Two left-handed sluggers with incredible batted-ball data and tasty matchups have the most appealing home run bets on Wednesday's MLB slate.

Managerless Newcastle announced the signing of Czech goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from Portuguese side Braga on Monday.
Hornicek has agreed a five-year deal after the Magpies activated his 30-million-euro (£25.7 million, $34.6 million) release clause, and he becomes the club's fifth signing of the summer.
"The last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster from when I first heard about the move and now I'm so happy to be here," said the 24-year-old, who is expected to supplant Nick Pope as first-choice goalkeeper.
"I know Newcastle is a huge football city, with 52,000 fans at St James' Park creating an incredible atmosphere and pushing the team every game. I can't wait to play in front of them."
Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson said Hornicek had "firmly established himself as one of Europe's top young goalkeepers".
