During the August 24 episode of Mad Money, Jim Cramer pointed to the sharp reversal in AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) stock as he said:
What the heck happened to a stock we really like, AEVEX? I mean, here's a company that makes drones for the military, the single hottest part of the defense sector yet, its stock's been [on] a, let's call it, a roller coaster. AEVEX came public at $20 back in April, jumped nearly 35% the first day of trading, ultimately running as high as $42 and change a few days later. Now, though, it's fallen through the offer price, coming down to $18. I can't find out why.
Some of it's because AEVEX reported earlier this month, and Wall Street, I guess, didn't like the numbers. Stock got slammed. Didn't matter that it was a huge revenue beat. The earnings and backlog both came in weaker than expected, but not that much. Still, I think demand remains strong. They keep winning a lot of new business. At the same time, AEVEX is trying to buy BlackSea Technologies for as much as $650 million in stock and cash, which is a lot of money when you're a $2 billion company. This would give them exposure to unmanned ships and submarines, which they could tie into their drone software system.
AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) reported $201.8 million of revenue for the second quarter, up 99.5% from $101.1 million a year earlier. Net income improved to $6.7 million from a loss of $11.8 million, while adjusted EBITDA rose to $28.1 million from $3.6 million. Most of the growth came from AEVEX's tactical systems business. Revenue in the segment increased to $174.2 million, up 141.6% year over year, driven by higher UAS product and support revenue.
AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) ended the second quarter with $259.8 million of funded backlog, down from $503.1 million at the end of 2025. That represents a decline of roughly 48%. The company said the $243.3 million decline was primarily due to revenue recognized from the EUCOM AOR Deep Strike program. The company also said the balance was affected by an increase in shorter-cycle customer orders. AEVEX continued to secure new business during the quarter, including contracts for UAS and engineering services, mission-support capabilities, and advanced unmanned mission capabilities.

Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLX) has released topline results from the Phase 3 LUCIDITY trial of avexitide on August 18, 2026. Shares closed Monday down 0.9% at $21.43, then traded 15.7% higher at $24.80 after hours after the company scheduled the readout. The rally came before investors saw any efficacy or safety data, underscoring how much hope is attached to one event. For Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLX), the question is whether a successful metabolic-disease trial can finally replace the failed ALS narrative that has defined the company since Relyvrio was withdrawn.
LUCIDITY randomized 78 adults with post-bariatric hypoglycemia following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in a 3:2 ratio to receive once-daily avexitide or placebo. The FDA-agreed primary outcome measures the reduction in the composite of Level 2 and Level 3 hypoglycemic events through Week 16. Avexitide is designed to block the exaggerated GLP-1 response that can drive excess insulin secretion and dangerous drops in blood glucose.
The trial is therefore more than another pipeline update. Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLX) currently has no approved product, and avexitide is its most advanced near-term opportunity to rebuild a commercial business. A positive result would validate the company's move into endocrine disease. A miss would return attention to earlier-stage programs that cannot replace a late-stage **** et quickly.
Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLX) enters the readout with supportive early evidence. Amylyx said five earlier Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies produced consistent signals. In a 28-day, open-label Phase 2b crossover study involving 16 patients who had undergone Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or other upper gastrointestinal surgeries, the 90 mg once-daily dose now used in LUCIDITY reduced Level 2 events by 53% and Level 3 events by 66% against the medical nutrition therapy-only run-in baseline. Avexitide was generally well tolerated across prior studies.
The FDA has granted avexitide Breakthrough Therapy designation for post-bariatric hypoglycemia, and management anticipates a potential 2027 launch if the drug is approved. Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLX) held $250.8 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments as of June 30. Based on its current operating plans, Amylyx expects that amount to provide a cash runway into 2028, supporting a potential regulatory filing and commercial preparations.

Fresh off its public debut in April, defense technology company Aevex Corp. (AVEX) is suddenly stealing the spotlight on Wall Street. On June 30, the company grabbed investors' attention after announcing a $50 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to expand its unmanned mission-support capabilities for ongoing operations. The award includes $27 million in initial funding, underscoring the military's confidence in AEVEX's technology.
The contract will support increased production of AEVEX's long-range precision strike platform, purpose-built for extended-range missions and engineered to operate effectively in challenging environments where GPS technology may be unreliable. Designed to adapt to evolving mission requirements and customer needs, the platform offers a high-payload capacity, rapid reconfiguration, and seamless payload integration. Investors cheered the announcement, sending AVEX shares soaring nearly 16.44% on the day. With this major defense win under its belt, let's take a closer look at AVEX.

A new Air Force contract sent the stock soaring, but investors were reading between the lines of this particular win.
If you held AEVEX (AVEX) stock, Tuesday felt good. Shares jumped +16.4% in a single session, easily outpacing the S&P 500's mild +0.8% gain. The catalyst for the stock's big move arrived before the opening bell: a fresh contract award from the U.S. Air Force.
But here's the thing. The deal was for $50 million. That's real money, of course, but is it enough to fundamentally change the story for a company of this size overnight? Probably not. So why the big reaction?
What's So Special About This $50 Million?
You have to look at what the money is for. This wasn't a routine order for spare parts. The U.S. Air Force tapped AEVEX to expand its unmanned mission-support capabilities, with $27 million funded upfront. The award specifically advances the company's production of its long-range precision strike platform. This is a vote of confidence in the company's more advanced, higher-tech offerings, exactly the kind of business investors want to see more of.

AEVEX Corp. (NYSE:AVEX) was among Jim Cramer's stock calls on Mad Money, as he highlighted worthy ***** e players and reviewed several of this year's IPOs. Cramer highlighted his previous recommendation on the stock, as he remarked:
Fifth, on April 17th, I recommended a stock called AEVEX, which is a private equity-backed drone maker that has a big contract with the US military. While the drones are clearly the future of warfare, this stock's been more of a rollercoaster. It was trading at $26 when I talked about it. Then it zoomed to $40 at its highs in late May. But unfortunately, AEVEX used that rally to sell another 8 million shares, which is a big chunk of stock given that they only sold 16 million shares in the IPO. Notice the theme of all these secondaries. People are just kind of bailing, right? Now, all of that new supply has pulled this one down to 20 bucks and change as of today. I still think the fundamental story here is terrific. AEVEX reported a great quarter last month, but the flood of new supply makes it harder for the stock to rally like crazy.
