Meta Platforms (META) has spent most of 2026 trading near $648 while the business behind it delivered record quarterly revenue. That growing mismatch has drawn a wave of ******* ysts who believe the stock is meaningfully underpriced.
Second-quarter revenue reached $60.8 billion, up 28% year over year, with a 31% operating margin, Meta's earnings press release confirmed.
At a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 19, the stock trades below the S&P 500's approximately 22 times forward earnings.
Reaching $900 would require roughly 39% upside from current levels. Whether the target is realistic depends on how quickly Meta's artificial intelligence spending produces revenue beyond its advertising business.
Meta's advertising technology is producing gains that rival any growth story in big tech. Internal model upgrades drove an 8.3% lift in ad clicks and a 15.7% conversion gain on Facebook last quarter, 24/7 Wall St reported.

Nearly 10 years ago, Warren Buffett told Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRKA) (NYSE: BRKB) investors that he had made a mistake for not buying Google when he had the opportunity many years earlier. He had become quite familiar with the business because GEICO, Berkshire's consumer insurance company, was paying $10 or $11 per click for advertising on the search engine owned by Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL). At the 2017 shareholder meeting, Buffett said he'd missed the opportunity, but he wouldn't bet against Google.
The stock climbed significantly while Buffett sat on the sidelines. He finally pulled the trigger on the stock in the third quarter of last year. Since then, he and newly appointed CEO Greg Abel have plowed tens of billions into the stock, making it one of Berkshire's biggest investments. But Buffett arguably missed out on a 9,000% gain by not buying into the stock sooner.

It's hard to blame Buffett for not buying Alphabet, then known as Google, when it made its initial public offering (IPO) in 2004. Buffett historically avoids both IPO stocks and tech stocks.
Buffett thinks IPOs are typically overvalued, at least relative to many other stocks, because underwriters are incentivized to secure the highest possible price for the company issuing shares. An IPO like Google's also comes with a lot of hype and media attention that can drive prices higher without any fundamental basis.

Las Vegas trails the Valkyries by two games with four remaining. The Aces own the head-to-head tiebreaker after sweeping their three regular-season meetings with Golden State.
If Las Vegas gains two games during the final week, it would move into the No. 2 seed. The Aces will not face another playoff team before the postseason begins.
They play consecutive games against Seattle, beginning Thursday at Climate Pledge Arena and continuing Sunday in Las Vegas. The Aces then host Los Angeles before completing the regular season at Phoenix.

The Green Bay Packers made a move to bolster their wide receiver room on Monday, bringing up a familiar face from coach Matt LaFleur's team's practice squad. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Green Bay has called up receiver Bo Melton to the team's active 53-man roster. Melton has experimented at cornerback in the past and will join the Packers as a wide receiver.
Melton was drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and was briefly compared to Jaguars star Travis Hunter for his two-way play. He was signed off the Seahawks' practice squad in 2022 and has stuck with Green Bay as a backup. Melton had his best season that year with 16 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown. He has 29 receptions for 426 yards and two touchdowns in his Packers career.
Melton will join a team that is still reeling from a 39-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. Green Bay failed to live up to LaFleur's standards against the Vikings and will soon look to rebound in a road game on September 20 against the New York Jets. LaFleur is squarely on the hot seat in some circles, and a loss to the Jets would start to make it feel even more uncomfortable.

Minnesota hosts the New York Liberty on Friday before visiting the eliminated Connecticut Sun. The season then could be decided by two games against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever over three days. The Lynx visit Indiana on Sept. 22 and host the Fever in the regular-season finale Sept. 24.
The playoff math is straightforward.

In what turned out to be his final season with the Bucks, the 10-time NBA All-Star averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 ***** ists, while shooting 62.4 percent from the field. He only played in 36 games as he was limited by injuries, but he's healthy now and should be out on the court when the Heat make their 2026-27 NBA season debut.

On his very first play in front of the home fans at Boone Pickens Stadium, Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker did something never before seen at the school.
Mestemaker faked a handoff, then took off for a 75-yard run on the Cowboys' first play from scrimmage in a 39-31 upset win over Oregon last Saturday. Oklahoma State sports information confirmed Monday that it was the longest run by a quarterback in school history.
Mestemaker setting the record is a bit of a shock at a school that has boasted prolific runners such as Zac Robinson, Spencer Sanders and J.W. Walsh. It's also surprising because Mestemaker is not known as a runner. In the entire previous season at North Texas, he ran for 89 yards on 57 carries.
That wasn't even his most exciting run of the day. He later scored on a 10-yard touchdown run in which he took off from the 3-yard line, hurdled a defender and was flipped upside down by another before he landed hard on his back in the end zone.

The sides have reached deals in back-to-back offseasons, as Dallas traded for wide receiver George Pickens in May 2025 and offensive tackle Broderick Jones on Aug. 29.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Saints are moving on to Week 2 sounding more emboldened than disappointed by their season-opening loss to Detroit.
"We're in a good place," Saints veteran safety Justin Reid said Monday, a day after the 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions. "When we click on all cylinders, it's evident what we can do."
After erasing a three-touchdown deficit in the second half, the Saints matched the Lions' touchdown in overtime and tried to win the game with a 2-point conversion that failed when second-year quarterback Tyler Shough's pass fell incomplete.
"A lot of teams would have folded," Reid said. "That's not the way that we're built."
Second-year coach Kellen Moore said the Saints "get to learn a lot from that game."
