Famed for his roles on Knight Rider and Baywatch, David Hasselhoff's iconic presence defined an era. Whether he's saving swimmers or singing to stadiums of adoring fans, the Hoff's unique energy is missed. At its peak, Baywatch's massive global audience briefly made it the most-watched television series on the planet, as reported by Forbes. Could a streaming-era revival or reality competition bring him back into the center stage?

As a member of the Brat Pack and coach in The Mighty Ducks, Emilio Estevez charmed audiences with both heart and grit. Though he's spent more time behind the camera in recent years, fans would welcome his thoughtful on-screen presence once again. He did step back into the hockey rink briefly, reprising his Gordon Bombay role for Disney's 2021 streaming revival of the franchise.

Few television shows have shaped how Americans see a sport the way "Ted Lasso" did for soccer. The relentlessly optimistic former D2 football coach (football, not soccer) from Kansas City, hired to sabotage an English club by its owner's socialite ex-wife, somehow turned football (soccer) into a cultural phenomenon during the pandemic, introducing millions of viewers who had never watched a soccer game to rivalries, fandom and rituals.
It made them BELIEVE futbol is life.
When the series ended two years ago with AFC Richmond earning promotion to the Premier League, it felt like a fitting conclusion, not only for Ted but also for the audience. Three seasons had delivered a reminder of why people fall in love with the beautiful game.
Now the series returns with an even more ambitious challenge. Rather than taking audiences back to men's football, it turns its attention to the women's game. But unlike in 2020, when it helped introduce millions to soccer, the women's game no longer needs a television show to explain why it matters. The question is whether the series can capture women's soccer's evolution.
2020 was a strange year. As I was sending cancellation notes for my own wedding during the pandemic, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Ted (played by Jason Sudeikis), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and AFC Richmond. By the final episode, I had become a pseudo-supporter of the imaginary club, embracing their underdog story. As a sports journalist, that's a rare feeling. I spend my career covering real clubs, not fictional ones. Yet "Ted Lasso" managed to make soccer feel personal again. If it could do that to someone who already covered the sport, it's easy to understand why millions of newcomers found themselves watching the Premier League after the credits rolled three years later.

There are movies that we love, and then there are movies that become embedded in the cultural zeitgeist and hit us right in the heart. Julie Andrews is breathing rare air as an actor who has more than one such film to her credit. "The Sound of Music" and "Mary Poppins," for examples, have dazzled generations of audiences. But it wasn't only Andrews' movies that delivered that fairy tale dreaminess. She married set and costume designer Tony Walton in May 1959 in beautiful Surrey, England, and get this: Walton designed her wedding dress. While most brides would hesitate to trust their husbands-to-be with the hors d'oeuvres, Andrews charged Walton with the pièce de résistance. He tackled the task beautifully, because his bride looked stunning in her sleeved ballgown, embroidered with floral appliqués — and leave it to Andrews to showcase how to style a pixie cut for every occasion.

The two met as theater kids in 1948, became pen pals, and got engaged 11 years later. "We looked at each other and smiled, and I honestly don't know how it came about, but one of us whispered to the other, 'We should get married soon,'" Andrews wrote in her memoir "Home," as reported by Tatler. And when Disney snagged Andrews for "Mary Poppins," Walton came with to design the costumes. The couple would have one daughter, Emma, in 1962. Thanks in large part to Walton's gorgeous design, his and Andrews' wedding snaps are some of those throwback pics from Old Hollywood star weddings that are beyond captivating.

Some of the entertainment industry's most iconic stars have found themselves ousted from major productions, sometimes overnight, sometimes amid headline-making controversy. From drama-filled on-set disputes to personal struggles that spilled into the public eye, here's a look at the famous faces who were fired from roles that could have changed everything.
MEGA
James Remar's formidable presence has defined gritty roles, but he was famously fired from a blockbuster due to off-screen issues that made headlines, as director James Cameron's Aliens originally cast actor Remar as Hicks, but the Alien sequel replaced the troubled star due to his off-set behavior, according to Screen Rant. Despite setbacks, he rebuilt his career with stand-out performances on both TV and film, turning a career stumble into a lasting legacy. Remar's journey proves that a second act is possible in Hollywood, even after an abrupt exit.

Colin Firth's suave elegance wasn't enough to keep him in a major film franchise after studio disagreements led to his controversial replacement, as he ended up withdrawing from Paddington during post-production, per SlashFilm. His dignified handling of the situation kept audiences rooting for him, and he quickly rebounded with acclaimed projects that only strengthened his status as a screen legend. Firth's ouster remains one of the industry's most-discussed casting changes.

FC Internazionale Milano have reached a historic and significant milestone, which cements their size on a global scale. The Nerazzurri now have over 100 million fans on their social media platforms, distributed across their 26 different profiles.
It is an achievement that goes beyond mere numbers and tells the tale of a project that has been carried out over time, in which on-field success has been linked to an increasingly structured digital strategy, which has broadened the horizons of its fanbase to new audiences outside of Italy.
In the last twelve months, this growth has been constant and significant, having drawn in over 16 million new fans, an increase of over 20%, which is a leading figure among the world's top clubs. In the last six months (February to July), this growth has taken the Club over the 100-million mark, strengthening Inter's position as one of the most popular entities in world football. In particular, YouTube and TikTok, two key platforms in the Club's internationalisation, largely drove this increase in followers.
Inter have surpassed 10 million subscribers on YouTube, joining an elite group of global football clubs on the platform. Between February and July, the Club recorded 6.1 million new subscribers, representing growth of 135%. This milestone has also seen Inter climb to seventh in the global ranking of football clubs by subscriber count.
At the same time, TikTok continued to establish itself as one of the Club's most dynamic platforms, with steady growth in both its fanbase (+4 million followers between February and July) and engagement. It was on TikTok that the Club also experimented with new storytelling formats, launching an innovative "Out Of Phone" campaign to celebrate its 21st Scudetto. For the first time, content native to the platform stepped beyond the smartphone screen to become a shared, real-world experience, accompanying the Bus Parade and turning Milano into an extension of the Club's digital storytelling. The initiative generated hundreds of millions of views and drove a significant increase in followers, further demonstrating Inter's ability to bring the digital and physical worlds together through moments of powerful emotional impact.

In business, strategies evolve. Approaches change. Successful models mature, adapt and often take organizations in a new direction. ESPN is no different. The "Worldwide Leader in Sports" has consistently reshaped its talent roster, programming philosophy and distribution strategy to attract each new generation of sports fans. The network's next evolution could involve moving away from its long-standing "embrace debate" philosophy on studio programming. If that's the case, what does it mean for First Take, a show built on spirited arguments and larger-than-life personalities?
Let's start at the beginning.
It's well documented why ESPN embraced debate-driven programming in the first place. At the time, it made far more business sense to produce opinion-based programming that generated conversation than to rely solely on highlights and news. Audiences were drawn to watching two personalities clash in a public arena, hearing opposing viewpoints before deciding which side they agreed with.
That was 2011. Fifteen years later, the viewership figures still suggest the formula still works.
In June, First Take averaged 505,000 viewers per episode. That's a 26% increase over the program's figures from a year earlier. When Skip Bayless returned for a one-day reunion with Stephen A. Smith in May, the episode averaged 647,000 viewers, a 24% increase over the show's average audience from January through May.

Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, Zoey Deutch was surrounded by the entertainment industry from an early age, but she has worked hard to establish an identity built on her own talent rather than her family's legacy. With a natural screen presence, sharp comedic timing, and an increasingly diverse filmography, Deutch has emerged as one of Hollywood's most versatile actresses. From independent dramas to romantic comedies and major studio productions, she has consistently demonstrated an ability to move effortlessly between genres while maintaining a distinctive charm that resonates with audiences.
Born into a family deeply connected to film and television, Deutch is the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, while her sister, Madelyn Deutch, has also built a successful career as an actress and writer. Despite these influences, Zoey has always embraced her own creative path. Proud of her Southern California roots, she often speaks fondly of growing up in the San Fernando Valley and appreciates the unique experience of living and working in the same city. Her upbringing extended beyond film sets, however. Surrounded by a wide variety of family pets, she developed an appreciation for animals that she believes helped shape her empathy and understanding of different personalities. Years of training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern dance, and hip-hop also instilled discipline, physical awareness, and confidence that later translated naturally into her performances on screen.
Away from acting, Deutch is known for her enthusiasm for food and cooking. She enjoys experimenting with new flavors and recipes and has often spoken about the pleasure she finds in preparing meals for family and friends. Dinner, in particular, holds a special place in her routine, offering an opportunity to slow down, enjoy meaningful conversations, and connect with the people around her. Whether taking on the challenge of cooking a full holiday feast for the first time or discovering unexpected flavor combinations, she approaches food with the same curiosity and enthusiasm that she brings to her creative work.
Although Deutch is open about many of her interests, she also values maintaining a sense of privacy. She prefers allowing audiences to interpret her films for themselves rather than explaining exactly what they should take away from a performance. This thoughtful approach reflects her broader philosophy of letting the work speak for itself. As her career continues to evolve, Zoey Deutch has established herself as far more than Hollywood royalty by **** ociation. Through dedication, versatility, and an authentic passion for storytelling, she continues to earn recognition on her own merits while building a career that promises to remain one of the most exciting of her generation.

Patrick Renna and Dugout Dads costar Danielle Fishel recently revealed that Marty York is the Sandlot cast member fans would be least likely to recognize today because of his dramatic transformation
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, they reflected on how much York has changed since playing "Yeah-Yeah" in the 1993 film
The pair also discussed Dugout Dads and why the new series reunites the iconic cast without continuing The Sandlot story
Few family movies have held onto their popularity quite like The Sandlot, the 1993 coming-of-age baseball classic that introduced audiences to a memorable group of neighborhood kids and their unforgettable summer adventures.
More than three decades later, the cast is still reminiscing about the film. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Patrick Renna, 37, and Dugout Dads costar Danielle Fishel, 45, revealed which Sandlot cast member fans would be the most surprised to see today.

Zendaya has become one of Hollywood's most versatile and respected performers, building a career that spans acting, music, fashion, and producing. Long before she was headlining blockbuster films and award-winning television series, she was a child model and dancer with a clear dream of performing. Growing up around theater nurtured her love for the arts, but it was watching Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel that convinced her she wanted to pursue acting professionally. Determined to follow that path, she steadily worked her way through auditions before landing roles that introduced her to a global audience.
Her early success came through Disney Channel productions, where she showcased her talents as both an actress and singer. However, Zendaya was eager to prove she could take on more mature and challenging roles beyond the family-friendly image that accompanied her early career. That opportunity arrived in 2017 when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Appearing alongside Tom Holland, the film marked a major turning point, allowing her to demonstrate a more understated and confident screen presence while reaching an even wider audience. Zendaya has often described the role as the realization of a lifelong ambition to transition from television to feature films.
The same year, she further expanded her reputation by starring in The Greatest Showman, where she portrayed trapeze artist Anne Wheeler. Her character's romance with Phillip Carlyle, played by Zac Efron, became one of the film's emotional highlights, exploring themes of acceptance, courage, and breaking social barriers. Combined with the movie's hugely successful soundtrack, the performance confirmed that Zendaya possessed the rare ability to excel as both an actress and performer, strengthening her reputation as one of Hollywood's brightest young stars.
Her career has continued to flourish through acclaimed projects across film and television, including subsequent Spider-Man films and other critically praised performances. Throughout her success, Zendaya has remained known for her professionalism, humility, and thoughtful perspective on fame. She has frequently spoken about the importance of patience, encouraging aspiring performers to trust their own journey rather than comparing themselves to others. According to Zendaya, growth comes through experience, persistence, and allowing yourself the time to improve without expecting immediate results.

Outgoing Major League Soccer (MLS) Commissioner Don Garber believes American football can challenge Europe and South America as the world's most valuable league in the future.
MLS is looking to build on the momentum created by the 2026 FIFA World Cup as it pursues its long-term goal of becoming one of the world's leading football leagues.
The World Cup was a major commercial success across the United States, with each game attracting huge crowds, strong television audiences and widespread interest in football.
While the United States' men's national team were eliminated in the round of 16 following a heavy defeat against Belgium, the World Cup highlighted football's growing popularity across the country.
League officials now want to ensure that the excitement generated by the World Cup continues for years to come, much like the impact of the 1994 tournament.

Digital advertising spending in 2026 is expected to expand unevenly. According to the IAB's 2026 Outlook Study, overall US ad spend is projected to grow by 9.5% this year, with social media advertising growing 14.6%, well outperforming the broader industry. However, growth is not evenly spread across advertiser sizes, with larger consumer firms lowering marketing expenditure as one of the fastest ways to maintain profitability amid wary consumers and narrowing margins.
That's the backdrop in which Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) is placing a significant bet: while the biggest social platforms compete for the same narrowing pool of massive brand advertisers, Reddit is slowly opening the door to small and medium-sized businesses that couldn't previously manage the cost of creating a personalized ad campaign.
That shift became clear when Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) released a beta version of Reddit Community Intelligence on July 10, an AI-powered, free-form ad generator that provides advertisers with AI-generated creative recommendations customized to certain communities instead of forcing them to start from scratch. The tool is deliberately designed to make campaign creation easier for advertisers targeting community-specific audiences, which have traditionally found platform advertising too resource-intensive to bother with.
Wall Street research desks realized the structural significance of the self-service shift. On July 13, Citizens ***** yst Andrew Boone confirmed his Market Outperform rating and $240 price target for Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT), citing automated self-service technologies as a key revenue driver. Boone emphasized that lowering friction for smaller advertisers enables Reddit to capture previously untapped performance budgets, resulting in long-term, lower-funnel revenue streams.
Crucially, Reddit's advertising momentum was accelerating even before the Community Intelligence tool shipped. On July 10, Jefferies, drawing on conversations with agencies, added that Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) continued to gain share in social media advertising through the second quarter. Agencies said that this was due to the platform's large and growing audience, growing reach, and more personalized targeting, a read that preceded the Community Intelligence launch and shows the platform was already winning before the tool even shipped.

NASCAR's first-ever In-Season Challenge appears to have accomplished exactly what the sport and its newest broadcast partner hoped it would.
TNT Sports released new audience data this week highlighting strong growth throughout its five-race stretch of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season, pointing to gains across television, streaming and younger audiences during the inaugural tournament.
The numbers offer an early indication that NASCAR's newest midseason competition resonated with fans while helping TNT build momentum during its first year back as a Cup Series broadcaster.
According to TNT Sports, coverage across TNT, truTV and HBO Max reached 16.6 million total viewers over the five-race In-Season Challenge, marking a 43% increase compared to 2025.
The network also reported its five Cup Series broadcasts averaged 2.0 million viewers. Excluding the weather-affected EchoPark Speedway race in Atlanta, which aired after a three-hour, nine-minute delay and produced the latest Cup Series finish in seven years, average viewership climbed to 2.2 million, an increase of more than 2.1 million viewers over the comparable races last season.

Two YouTube golf stars will tee off Thursday at the Rocket Classic in Detroit after receiving sponsor exemptions into the PGA TOUR event.
Former GoodGood member Brad Dalke and The Lads member Ryan Ruffles both earned sponsor exemptions as tournament director Mark Hollis looks to attract a younger audience.
"We're always looking for ways to connect with new audiences in Detroit and continue building one of the most fan-friendly events on the PGA TOUR," Hollis said in an article published by The Golf Wire. "Brad has made a tremendous impact both on the course and through the way he connects with fans across different platforms."
This is not the first PGA TOUR-related event for either player. Dalke was a national NCAA champion and has competed in both the U.S. Open and the Masters. Ruffles has played in 21 PGA TOUR events, making 11 cuts. Most recently, he competed in the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, where he made the cut and finished tied for 45th.

Hey Creatorverse readers,
Amid all the chatter about brand deals and follower counts, the charitable side of creators is often overlooked. This past week, two major creators — MrBeast (510 million YouTube subscribers) and Jacksepticeye (31 million subscribers) — doubled down on giving back.
Though MrBeast and Jacksepticeye are the two creators making headlines right now, philanthropic efforts are baked into the work of many creators, partially because giveaways and community alignment are so core to the creator ecosystem. That focus has translated into an increase in donations from Millennial and Gen Z audiences as donations overall have declined.
MrBeast partnered with Disney and Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) on "I Granted 100 Kids Their Biggest Wish!" a video that chronicled celebrities like MrBeast, Dwayne Johnson and LeBron James granting some of the biggest dreams to children who have been diagnosed with cancer. The goal of the video is to increase awareness for pediatric cancer and raise funds for research, which naturally includes an elaborate MrBeast giveaway for anyone who donates to the charity Give Kids The World. Since being posted on Sunday, the video has accumulated over 30 million views. Those views will only increase as the video remains on MrBeast's channel for the next six months.
"We've never had an opportunity like this to engage people all over the world, and certainly not through a creator platform at this scale. So, it's truly a 'first' for SU2C," Pam Williams, a member of the SU2C founders and advisors committee, told me. So far it's a strategy that's working. The video has been seen by people in 68 countries so far, and almost 90% of donators are supporting the organization for the first time.

Meghan McCain has a blunt message for people criticizing her changing appearance: She is getting older, raising three children, and has no intention of apologizing for either. The former co-host of "The View" addressed the cruel comments after a recent podcast clip attracted viewers who seemingly focused more on her looks than the political topic she was discussing. Although Meghan McCain said she normally has thick skin, she admitted that the sudden wave of body-shaming commentary caught her off guard.
Rod Lamkey – CNP / MEGA
McCain discussed the criticism during Wednesday's episode of her "Citizen McCain" podcast. "I am normally an Armadillo-skinned person, and there's been a lot of commentary about how 'old and ugly' I am now," she said.
Rather than attempting to convince critics that her appearance had not changed, the 41-year-old television personality openly acknowledged that it had. "I'm 41 years old … I'm going to age. I'm going to get older. I am fatter because I've had three kids," McCain continued, who shares Liberty, 5, Clover, 3, and 6-month-old Ransom with her husband, Ben Domenech.
McCain also noted that audiences are no longer seeing her with the polished appearance she maintained while working on network television. "I look different because I don't have professional hair and makeup every day," she explained.

Sloane Stephens (left), WTA tennis star and investor in Project B, and Alana Beard (right), Project B Co-Founder, Chief Basketball Officer, and former WNBA champion.
Women's basketball is attracting record audiences and global attention, billion-dollar valuations, and unprecedented investment. Yet, one of the industry' most consequential stories isn't about what is happening on the court, but what is happening around the boardroom.
In an industry where Black women have historically generated labor and cultural value in women's basketball without receiving proportional economic ownership, Project B is challenging and changing that pattern.
Behind the venture is a coalition of women investors and advisors bringing not only capital, but decades of leadership, strategic influence, and industry expertise in business, finance, media, and entrepreneurship.
Their investment isn't simply backing another basketball venture, it reflects an intentional and broader shift in who creates wealth, who influences strategy, and who participates in the next chapter of the sport economy.

Spain lifted the trophy, Lionel Messi's era reached its closing chapter, and FIFA walked away richer than ever. From record-breaking attendance and soaring television audiences to unprecedented ticket prices and growing commercialization, the 2026 FIFA World Cup may ultimately be remembered as the tournament that changed football forever.
Spain did it.
Luis de la Fuente's side defeated Argentina in a one-sided final that somehow stretched into extra time before Ferran Torres scored in the 106th minute to secure La Furia's second FIFA World Cup. The scoreline hardly reflected the dominant victory. Spain outshot Argentina 20-3, controlled nearly 70% of possession, and dictated virtually every minute of the match.
This Spain team is difficult to describe. At times the football was beautiful, yet it also felt cold, clinical, and almost mechanical. Every movement seemed rehearsed, every pass calculated. There was elegance and precision, but often little of the emotion, grit, or raw intensity that has traditionally defined football's greatest champions. Spain dismantled France in the semis and Argentina in the final by trusting the same formula, and there was no reason to stray from it.
In many ways, it's ironic that the polished, easy-to-consume product put forth by this Spanish side ended up winning a World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. There is little controversy, little mystery, and even less that demands endless debate. Spain is easy to understand, easy to market, and easy to celebrate, much like the consumer culture surrounding the tournament itself.

Every movie you have ever loved has lied to you.
The city skyline was a matte painting. The shark was rubber and it barely worked. The crowd of 40,000 was 400 extras and a lot of patient duplication. Audiences have never actually wanted the truth from a screen. We want the trick to hold.
Hollywood has always been comfortable with that bargain. What it has never been comfortable with is a change in who performs the trick.
That is the fight that shut the industry down in 2023, and it is the fight that has kept studios careful about how they discuss artificial intelligence (AI) ever since. Everyone has been running pilots. Almost **** ody has been willing to say how many. The safe play was to call it experimentation, name a single project, and move on before anyone asked a follow-up question.
Netflix (NFLX) just stopped playing it safe.
