Dolly Parton's death at 80 years old this week has sparked numerous tributes and sweet reflections on the Queen of Country Music's legacy. It's also shining a light on a symbol that played a significant role in Parton's life: the ******* erfly.
If you Google Parton's name on Wednesday, you'll see a flurry of ******* erflies across the screen, along with the words "We'll Always Love You." The 9 to 5 actor, who died after a "brief battle with cancer," has long incorporated ******* erflies into her work, making them a central theme of her 1974 track "Love is Like a ******* erfly" as well as using them in her clothing, stage shows and even in the logo for her Pigeon Forge, Tenn., amusement park, Dollywood, where the W is a pair of ******* erfly wings. She's also previously shared that she has pastel ******* erfly tattoos, which, like her other hidden tattoos, she got to cover scars.
In an interview with W Magazine in 2021, Parton explained why ******* erflies, which she "loved" all her life, were her favorite symbol.
"They didn't sting. They didn't bite, and they were so beautiful," she said. Parton explained that while growing up in Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains, she would get "lost in the woods," and "wander off" chasing after the insects from "one bush to another."
A gleaming pink ******* erfly greets guests outside of "Songteller," part of The Dolly Parton Experience, an all-new attraction at Dollywood theme park.

Ahead of the new season, Miami Dolphins fans can rock some new merch that's part of a collab between the league and Disney.
The Walt Disney Co. is joining forces with clothing brand Champion on a collection that pairs all 32 NFL teams with characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
The Dolphins were paired up with King Triton, Princess Ariel's dad, through a fan draft. And it may say something that the team, whose season is not looking bright, were paired with a C-tier Disney character.
"Around the world, millions of sports fans can likely recite the stats on the back of their favorite football card or relive a clutch touchdown from years ago as if it happened yesterday," Disney said in a news release last month.
"In much the same way, Disney fans can often instantly name their favorite character or top attraction, recalling so many unforgettable stories and memories shared with family and friends over the years."

The Costellovan Steenis vs. JohnnyEblen rematch is the biggest fight in Professional Fighters League history, according to thepromotion's CEO.

In an interview posted by the PFL on X, John Martin reflected onthe rivalry between Eblen and van Steenis, revealing hisdisappointment with the injury that forced their scheduled rematchto be postponed. A TikTok influencer named Christy Wong responded to the internet's outrage about her dating preferences in her video **** led "Is it okay to have Racial Preferences in Dating?" Wong claimed people are missing the point of attraction and criticizing what they can't control.
First, Wong set the context and described people's reaction to her earlier statement about her dating preferences.
"People get very upset when hearing that other people have dating preferences," Wong said. "So I said that my preferences are white Americans, Chinese, and Koreans, and a lot of people are very upset with that. So let's talk about it, because I personally don't think it's worthwhile criticizing other people's dating preferences."
Then, she addressed the argument that people's preferences may be affected by the media and historical background.
"I said that my preferences come primarily from familiarity. But a lot of people say that our preferences can also be largely shaped by media and history, and it can reflect, internalize racism. And I don't disagree with that. There's no denying that that is definitely true. The media shapes what we find attractive. It shapes what I find attractive. It shapes yours. I don't think anybody is above it," she said.

As Hall of Famer Deion Sanders prepares for his fourth season as the head coach at Colorado, the Buffaloes are stumbling and ****** bling as a TV attraction.
Via Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, the ratings for Colorado games on ESPN fell 67 percent from 2023 to 2025.
It's no surprise. In 2023, Deion was the next big thing in college football — even as a 3-0 start melted to a 4-8 finish. In 2024, the Buffaloes turned it around, going 9-3 in the regular season. (The Buffaloes lost to BYU, 36-14, in their bowl game.)
Last year, without Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, the backslide began. The Buffaloes went 3-9, capping the season with a five-game losing streak.
It's no surprise. Colorado hasn't parlayed the Coach Prime effect into the kind of recruits that can win more games than they lose. This year, the program is fighting a narrative that the players look too small.

Dolly Parton shared in a video why she missed the big opening of a new ride at her beloved Dollywood. The 80-year-old country music legend was supposed to be at the Aug. 14 opening of NightFlight Expedition in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. But she ended up sending fans a video from her home in Nashville instead. The reason was that her doctor told her to stay put after she experienced dizziness and dehydration.
Parton made the best of the situation, appearing in the recorded video with a pair of ***** erfly wings flapping behind her as she shared her health update. "I've told you before, all my fans, that I've had a few little health issues and sometimes I get a little dizzy and I get dehydrated. She then explained that her Nashville doctor wasn't taking any chances with the 200-mile trip to Dollywood. She said, "My Nashville doctor has kind of clipped my wings, saying, 'You ain't traveling this week.'" Then she added, "So I guess if your doctor tells you, 'You ain't traveling this week,' you ain't traveling this week."
The singer also gave fans some reassuring news, saying that "all is going well on the medical end of things." Staying home, however, does not mean she has stopped working. Parton said she is still busy with projects including her SongTeller Hotel, Life of Many Colors Museum and her upcoming Broadway show, Dolly: A True Original Musical.
She also made sure to celebrate the new Dollywood attraction. In the video, she shared her excitement for NightFlight Expedition and told fans she would see them "down the road."

Dax Shepard, the actor and Armchair Expert podcast host, has revealed his lifelong attraction to muscular men. He discussed his relationship with fitness and the childhood experiences he believes played a role in this fascination while speaking with Taron Egerton on his podcast on August 10. "I f—— love men's bodies more than anything in the world," Shepard confessed.
The 51-year-old actor and comedian said his interest in muscular bodies started when he was young and was heavily influenced by the action stars he watched on screen. While expressing his fascination, he said, "I love muscle so much."
He then went back to his childhood and remembered watching Conan the Barbarian. This is the movie that helped make Arnold Schwarzenegger a major Hollywood star. "Well, for me, I'll explain it as like being born in '75, and it was like my first drive-in movie was Conan the Barbarian," Shepard said.
Referring to Sylvester Stallone, he added, "I was just like, wait a minute, a man can look like a gorilla, and then Stallone was at his height. It was like the birth of muscles."
For Shepard, his fascination with muscles eventually became connected to his childhood. "I grew up in a house with a violent stepdad beating everyone up," he revealed. He explained that seeing Schwarzenegger's powerful physique made him feel that being strong could protect him. "So, when I saw Conan, I was like, 'Oh, if I look like that, I got no problems for the rest of my life.' So that just, that was like, 'Yeah, … If I was Conan, I got no problems," Shepard said.

Rihanna got to share a full-circle moment with her children in her home country of Barbados recently.
The singer posted photos of her and her three kids with A$AP Rocky — RZA, 4, Riot Rose, 3, and Rocki Irish, 11 months — visiting a street named after her in her old neighborhood.
"One minute I feel like that kid from Westbury…the next minute I'm bringing my own kids back to 'Rihanna Drive,'" she wrote on X. "Trippy how life works! And the Glory STILL and WILL ALWAYS belong to the Almighty Creator!!!"
The street was officially named after Rihanna in 2017 and has since become a tourist attraction. The green and yellow house where Rihanna grew up is located there.
The Visit Barbados website says of the street, "This is the place where an icon was born; a backstreet located on the outskirts of Bridgetown. It's tucked away from the bustling traffic of the Mighty Gryner Highway and an earshot from the shoreline."

I've never seen a documentary about Girl Scout Cookies before, so I went into Alysa Nahmias's "Cookie Queens" figuring that it might include, among other things, a tantalizing history of this beloved American institution — a rundown of the nine current varieties of Girl Scout Cookie (my favorite: Samoas, obvi! With Tagalongs a close second), a survey of some of the dozens of discontinued flavors (Rasberry Rallies, we hardly knew ye), and — more to the point — a look at how Girl Scout Cookies came to be, how the Girl Scout Cookie season developed into a wholesome Middle American pastime, and what Girl Scout Cookies have meant, through the decades, to those of us who hungrily consume them and to all the girls who've devoted themselves to selling boxes of them.
But no! "Cookie Queens" includes none of that stuff. The movie unfolds entirely in the present and never gives you even a fleeting sense of the past, of how Girl Scout Cookies rose in prominence to become the phenomenon they are today. (In case you're wondering, they were launched in World War I to raise money for U.S. soldiers.) The opening credits, set to the Julie Ruin's "Cookie Road," which sounds like a great lost track from the B-52's, play over black-and-white photographs and old film footage of Girl Scouts from bygone eras. But once the credits are over, the movie gets down to its single-minded theme and obsession: how Girl Scout Cookies, once a quaint piece of Americana, have lurched into their late-capitalist phase, with the girls who sell them vying to become champions by fashioning themselves into 12-year-old entrepreneurial go-getters.

Arsenal's summer business is gathering pace and attention is now turning towards the attacking line, with Ben Jacobs on the Latte Firm YouTube channel reporting that Iliman Ndiaye is among the players admired at the Emirates Stadium. The update arrives during a period when **** nal are already pushing forward on multiple fronts, and it adds another layer to what looks like an ambitious market strategy.
The Premier League champions have already secured Illan Meslier, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis on permanent deals, while Bruno Guimaraes is understood to be closing in on a £75m move from Newcastle United. **** nal's recruitment, therefore, appears centred on strengthening quality, depth and tactical flexibility before the 2026/27 campaign begins.
Ndiaye's situation is one to watch. Everton's Senegal international has been linked with interest from Al Hilal, and there is now an indication that **** nal have made checks on his availability. The key quote remains, "I heard the other day that Iliman Ndiaye is a player that **** nal really like. He's rejected a contract proposal at Everton for now and Al Hilal are working on that deal, maybe they'll pull it off, but **** nal are one of the clubs that made an enquiry."
That does not automatically place **** nal at the front of the queue, but it suggests the club are doing due diligence on alternative profiles in case their biggest attacking targets prove difficult to land. Vinicius Jr has been discussed as a dream option, though any move of that scale would naturally be complicated. In that context, Ndiaye becomes a credible name in the wider conversation.
From **** nal's perspective, the attraction is easy to understand. Ndiaye can operate from either flank, drift into central **** es and offer a different type of movement across the front line. Across two seasons at Everton, he has returned 17 goals in 71 appearances, figures that point to contribution and resilience in a demanding environment.

Arsenal are exploring one of the most ambitious attacking moves of the summer, with Vinicius Junior understood to be firmly in their thinking as Mikel Arteta looks to add elite firepower out wide. As first reported by Alex Crook for talkSPORT, there is also parallel work being considered on Bradley Barcola if the conditions for a deal involving the Real Madrid forward do not fall into place.
From ****** nal's perspective, the attraction is obvious. Vinicius Junior is among the game's most decisive wide attackers, a player capable of altering the level of any front line immediately. The complication is equally clear. His preference is to stay at Real Madrid, and the current impasse appears rooted in contract terms rather than a desire to leave. That leaves ****** nal alert rather than advanced, watching for any opening if the situation fails to resolve.
Photo IMAGO
The report states that a move has been "approved at all levels internally". That points to serious internal alignment, and that matters. ****** nal have operated with greater conviction in recent windows when recruitment, coaching and ownership have all been synchronised. If Vinicius becomes genuinely available, it would be no surprise to see them move decisively.
Even so, ****** nal cannot afford a passive summer. The wider market rarely waits for one club to make up its mind, and this is where Barcola enters the picture. The Paris Saint-Germain winger has long been admired across Europe, and his profile fits much of what ****** nal seek, direct running, one-v-one threat, high-end athleticism and room for further development.

When Formula E launched in Beijing in 2014, it arrived with a clear mission. Electric racing was intended to demonstrate that battery-powered vehicles could be exciting, fast and commercially viable while promoting a cleaner future for transport. More than a decade later, the landscape has changed dramatically. Electric vehicles are now a mainstream product in many markets, China has become the global center of EV innovation, and conversations around climate change have entered a more fractious mode. The newest electric racing championship, E1, finds itself entering the market at a very different moment. The series, featuring all-electric hydrofoiling RaceBird boats competing in waterfront cities around the world, still promotes clean technology, but its leadership increasingly believes that sustainability is no longer enough to capture public attention. Instead, E1's future may depend on demonstrating that electric propulsion simply delivers a better experience. I talked to E1 (and Formula E) founder Alejandro Agag, Sports.com Predict Team Miami pilots Timmy Hansen and Rianna O'Meara-Hunt, and Sports.com Predict Team Miami team principal Steve Curtis. They described a championship that is rapidly evolving from an environmental showcase into one of the world's most technically fascinating forms of motorsport.
Agag has spent much of his career launching new forms of electric motorsport. Having founded Formula E before turning his attention to Extreme E and now E1, he has witnessed first-hand how attitudes towards electrification have changed. "When we launched Formula E electric was the future," says Agag. "Manufacturers were going full electric. Mercedes came in, BMW, and Audi."
Today, Agag believes the public conversation has moved on. "Sustainability has really lost a lot of its attraction, which is a pity, because the climate problem has not changed, it's worse than before," says Aga. "Activists have been incredibly bad for the cause. To destroy a piece of art or to block a highway has exactly the opposite effect. It really repels people. It produces a divorce between the public and sustainability, because those activists wrongly embody environmentalism."

Action erupted almost immediately when Watcharaphon dropped the returning French-Algerian striker with a sharp left hook. The Thai, who vowed to tap into his trademark finishing power for this clash, kept his fists loaded while the referee initiated the count.
However, "La Pepite" quickly regained his footing and answered in kind, flooring the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym athlete with a right hook of his own to level the contest during a frantic opening round. With momentum on his side, Hamidi took the opportunity to display his full ******* nal in the second frame.
The French-Algerian warrior disrupted Watcharaphon's rhythm with slick sweeps, spearing knees, and well-timed teeps, while his opponent continued relying on heavy boxing. Those diverse attacks made the Team Valente representative increasingly difficult to read, and he punctuated one exchange by landing a right hand behind a knee.
