Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong recently claimed that the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) agents would boost cryptocurrency adoption. In a post on X, Armstrong said AI agents will need their own financial infrastructure and will eventually transact far more per day than all humans combined." Since AI agents can't open bank accounts or wait for wire transfers, Armstrong believes they will need to use cryptocurrencies as 'real-time programmable money'.
It might seem odd to think that AI agents will need their own money, but it actually makes sense if we expect those agents to work autonomously. Let's see how that could happen, and what that shift might mean for cryptocurrency investors over the long term.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Coinbase's own Base network already supports the development of AI agents. Armstrong believes those agents will eventually "need to hold funds and pay for things on their own" and "raise or borrow money for new projects they are undertaking." By doing so, they can serve as financial advisors and automate tax planning, portfolio rebalancing, and bill-paying tasks. They can also pay for other on-demand cloud and AI services to complete their own workflows.
Therefore, AI agents could operate independently and pay one another using cryptocurrencies rather than going through conventional banks. If that happens, cryptocurrencies would become a foundational layer of the agentic AI market.

Once again, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) delivered a strong quarter, driven by its cloud computing segment and growing adoption of Copilot. And for once, the stock surged higher on the news. However, it is still trading down year-to-date and off more than 10% over the past year.
Let's take a closer look at the company's fiscal Q4 results to see if its rally can continue.

Microsoft's cloud computing unit, Azure, once powered its growth, with revenue soaring 43% year over year. It was the 12th straight quarter in which Azure revenue rose by 30% or more, and it surpassed $100 billion for the fiscal year. Demand continues to outstrip capacity, and Azure revenue is projected to accelerate to 45% constant-currency growth in Q1.
Bookings rose 10% and were up 18% when excluding OpenAI. Remaining performance obligations (RPOs), which include future Azure commitments, surged 84% year over year to $678 billion. The company said about 30% of these commitments will be recognized as revenue over the next 12 months. Notably, it said all of the sequential growth it saw came from non-AI model companies.

A federal judge in Colorado granted a class-wide preliminary injunction on Friday requiring the NCAA to restore eligibility to all Division I athletes from the high school class of 2022 who finished up their four years this past spring.
The decision by Judge Charlotte Sweeney of the U.S. District Court of Colorado was reported by Boise State ***** ociate professor Sam Ehrlich. The injunction grants a class certification and a temporary restraining order to plaintiffs who qualify as stated:
"All persons in the United States who began to play in collegiate sports in the 2022-2023 season, competed in NCAA Division I sports, and completed four years of eligibility as defined by the NCAA's prior rules by the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season, and are therefore barred from playing a fifth season due to the NCAA's adoption and immediate implementation of the Five-Year Eligibility Rule."
Judge Sweeney's ruling is in response to a class-action lawsuit filed by 11 Division I athletes, including Minnesota men's college basketball player Cade Tyson, that challenged the NCAA approving an age-based, five-year eligibility model that allowed four seasons of eligibility over five years with no age restrictions. The model would eliminate redshirts and waivers.
In a statement released after Judge Sweeney's ruling was reported, NCAA president Charlie Baker disagreed with the ruling, saying Congress passing the Protect College Sports Act was necessary and suddenly restoring eligibility to an entire class would result in "chaos."

July 30 (Reuters) - OpenAI slashed prices of its low- and mid-tier AI models on Thursday, a move that may intensify competition in the industry as U.S. companies battle cheaper Chinese rivals for customers increasingly wary of the technology's ballooning costs.
The ChatGPT maker lowered the cost of its smaller GPT-5.6 Luna model by 80% and its mid-tier Terra by 20%, while leaving the price of its biggest and flagship Sol model unchanged.
The cuts show that rising cost scrutiny by businesses facing hefty AI bills is forcing American labs to rethink pricing. Many tech CEOs have also said in recent months that cheaper AI options are key to the technology's widespread adoption.
OpenAI's new pricing also turns up the heat on Anthropic, whose Claude models dominate enterprise and developer use but sit at the costlier end of the market. Both companies have been under pressure from open-source Chinese rivals such as Z.ai's GLM-5.2 that nearly match their performance at a lower cost.
Analysts have said that cutting prices could boost usage of OpenAI's and Anthropic's technology, but strain their finances ahead of highly anticipated initial public offerings.

Night View Capital, an investment management firm, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter highlights that AI is a transformative force, comparable to electricity due to its industry-wide impact. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Although fears about the software sector have led to significant declines in stock prices, the letter argues that AI integration will ultimately benefit many companies. They recognize that some software firms may experience temporary slowdowns, but most will adapt and succeed by embracing AI, citing advantages like systems of record, high switching costs, entrenched distribution, and rapid AI adoption. The sharp decline in software valuations appears to be an overreaction rather than a sign of industry failure. Nightview believes the so-called "software panic of 2026" is temporary, and resilient businesses will adapt and flourish in the age of AI. In addition, please check the Strategy's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.

We think the company that sits at the center of how software gets built is a fine place to own in a decade defined by building more of it."

In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Night View Capital highlighted Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM). Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is a cloud computing company that offers Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology that brings companies and customers together. On July 27, 2026, Salesforce, Inc. Night View Capital stated the following regarding Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is our clearest expression of the system-of-record thesis. It holds the customer relationships of a large slice of the corporate world. That data is the fuel for every AI sales and service agent a company might want to deploy, and the natural place to deploy them is inside the platform that already holds the data. When the software selloff was at its most indiscriminate, we added to our position. We were, in effect, buying the fear."

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is seeking to position itself as the platform of choice for enterprise frontier AI adoption. It is part of the company's strategy of extending its cloud platform, Azure, beyond traditional infrastructure into the foundation for nmext-generation AI computing.
That was evident on July 21, as the software giant confirmed the expansion of its strategic partnership with Mistral. The collaboration is designed to give enterprises and regulated industries access to frontier AI models that they can deploy with greater control over security, governance, and compliance.
The expanded partnership reinforces Microsoft's ambition to become the trusted AI infrastructure provider for highly regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, government, defense, energy, and manufacturing.
As part of this agreement, Microsoft will use Mistral's expanding European GPU infrastructure. Mistral, on the other hand, has added its AI models called Medium 3.5 and OCR 4 to Microsoft's app builder known as Foundry; while Microsoft Copilot Studio has brought on Medium 3.5 as well.

Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang said the U.S. should embrace, not ban, China's AI models, arguing that high-quality open-source technology should be used rather than feared.
In an interview with Axios on Tuesday, Huang called the Chinese models "excellent" and dismissed concerns that OpenAI and Anthropic should fear open AI models, saying they broaden AI adoption by attracting new users, while many customers will still pay for the superior performance and reliability of closed models.
Huang pushed back on fears that downloaded Chinese AI models create a "backdoor" to Beijing, arguing they can be securely customized and isolated.

These are unprecedented times, with companies pumping hundreds of billions of dollars into capital expenditures -- data centers, GPUs, and other infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI). It's an arms race of sorts, and companies are spending first and asking questions later in fear of missing out on their share of AI adoption.
Two groups of AI stocks have formed within this capex boom. On one side are the AI hyperscalers, big tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Alphabet. On the other side are neoclouds, companies such as CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) and Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS), that build specialized GPU data centers and sell the computing power.
Continue »
Knowing which group actually wins in the big picture is crucial to deciding where to invest your dollars.
Neocloud companies build specialized GPU data centers, engineered from the ground up for AI workloads. That specialization gives them cost advantages over hyperscalers building more generalized data centers for a broader range of applications. "Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) has uniquely powerful data and distribution advantages and the company is investing aggressively in its own artificial intelligence models and compute to make its advertising platform more effective. Meta's core business has among the most straight forward and compelling commercial use cases for AI that we are aware of. More engaging, relevant, and frequently refreshed creative content makes digital ads useful versus simply clutter. One unnamed Ironviner visits Instagram specifically for curated clothing, gear, and gift ideas—he checks in for the ads, not in spite of them, because he is often introduced to new brands and items he hadn't thought of or didn't know existed. For advertisers, the ease and precision of targeting and measuring return on ad spend is powerful. They can refine and improve their approach leveraging Meta's tools to increase efficiency. The company's ability to leverage and improve its own models within this robust and proprietary feedback loop should draw additional advertising dollars and further the company's lead in time. We initiated a position in Meta in our Concentrated strategy and added to our existing position in Core during the second quarter."

Bristol Gate Capital Partners, an investment management company, published its Q2 2026 investor letter for the "US Equity Strategy". A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. The Strategy lagged the S&P 500 Total Return Index in the quarter in terms of returns, but outperformed in dividend growth. Despite debate over capital cycle returns, AI remained the dominant market theme, expanding from early adoption to broader enterprise adoption. The firm continues to focus on high-dividend-growth companies while maintaining discipline around valuation and earnings durability. In addition, please check the Fund's top five holdings to know its best picks in 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Bristol US Equity Strategy highlighted Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN). Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN), a professional services company that focuses on consulting, technology, and outsourcing. On July 22, 2026, Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) closed at $140.09 per share. One-month return of Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) was 9.41%, and its shares lost 51.13% over the past 52 weeks. Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) has a market capitalization of $84.17 billion.
Bristol US Equity Strategy stated the following regarding Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"We liquidated our stakes in Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) and Intuit due to overlapping thematic headwinds. Both companies face intensifying market scrutiny regarding the potential for generative AI to disrupt their core business models. Accenture's labour-intensive consulting framework and Intuit's legacy software franchise. Because these structural debates will take considerable time to resolve, the near-term visibility on earnings durability has diminished. More critically, our forward-looking model signaled a material deterioration in their projected dividend-growth trajectories. Consequently, we redeployed this capital into higher-conviction opportunities with what we believe are superior risk adjusted return profiles."
Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 64 hedge fund portfolios held Accenture plc (NYSE:ACN) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 71 in the previous quarter. Bristol US Equity Strategy stated the following regarding Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) was the largest detractor with the share price down significantly after its quarterly report disappointed investors. We liquidated our stakes in Accenture and Intuit due to overlapping thematic headwinds.
Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) is not on our list of 40 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds Heading Into 2026. According to our database, 92 hedge fund portfolios held Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) at the end of the first quarter, compared to 91 in the previous quarter. In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) reported revenue of $8.6 billion, reflecting a 10% year-over-year growth. While we acknowledge the potential of Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Bristol US Equity Strategy highlighted W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB). Headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) is an insurance holding company operates as a commercial line writer. On July 22, 2026, W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) closed at $72.36 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $26.85 billion. W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) posted a one-month return of 4.43%, while its shares gained 5.57% over the past 52 weeks.
Bristol US Equity Strategy stated the following regarding W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"W. R. Berkley Corporation (NYSE:WRB) is a property-and-casualty insurer with a long record of dividend growth and disciplined value creation, precisely the profile our process is designed to find. The company runs a decentralized model of more than 50 business units, each tailored to its market, with a focus on specialty and excess-and-surplus lines that demands deep underwriting expertise and generates high, durable returns on capital. Berkley has raised its dividend for 25 consecutive years, a five-year compound annual growth rate of roughly 11.6%, and regularly returns excess capital through special dividends when its balance sheet allows. That combination of free-cash-flow generation and shareholder-friendly capital allocation is exactly what our model favors.
Berkley is family-run, with a conservative underwriting culture and balance sheet. Its earnings are relatively insulated from the economic cycle, and we believe the position adds ballast to the portfolio: a more defensive, lower-volatility holding that can help steady returns at a time when AI is widening the range of outcomes across many sectors. With the shares trading at an attractive valuation relative to the quality and returns of the business, we initiated the position."

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said American companies should be free to use Chinese open-source artificial intelligence models, positioning himself against Trump administration officials and U.S. AI labs that have sought to restrict them.
"These Chinese models are excellent," Huang told Axios on Tuesday. "Open-source models that are excellent should be used." He said companies should "absolutely" be allowed to use them.
The remarks came as the release of Kimi K3, a model from Beijing-based Moonshot AI that combines near-frontier performance, lower prices, and open weights, has rattled chip and AI stocks, reviving concerns that cheaper models could undercut the case for large AI infrastructure spending. Huang argued Wall Street has the situation backward. "Free AI should be great for hardware," he said. "Free AI should be great for chips. Free AI should be great for data centers." Cheaper and more accessible models draw more people into AI ecosystems, he argued, and that broader adoption ultimately drives up demand for the chips and data centers that Nvidia provides.
Huang also rejected the argument that downloaded Chinese models create a security backdoor to Beijing. Companies can customize those models and run them inside secure environments, he said, and openness makes AI more secure because outside researchers can inspect models and identify weaknesses. "If everything just becomes one single model, one single point of attack, one single source of failure, I think the world is much, much more vulnerable," he said.
His comments came hours after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox Business that the administration is examining Chinese AI models for evidence of stolen U.S. intellectual property and considering sanctions. "If we see ... that overseas models are stealing from our great companies, we have the ability to sanction them because of this theft," Bessent said, according to Axios. Huang said companies should still face consequences for violating privacy or contracts, but he argued the response should target misconduct, not the models themselves. "Distillation, learning from AI, learning from other sources of knowledge, is fundamental to intelligence," he said.

July 22 (Reuters) - Advanced Micro Devices will sell Anthropic tens of billions of dollars' worth of AI servers and invest as much as $5 billion in the Claude maker, in a deal that would strengthen its foothold in a market dominated by rival Nvidia.
The announcement on Wednesday marks the latest so-called circular deal in the AI industry, where chipmakers invest in AI firms that are among their biggest customers. Nvidia has been in talks to invest $30 billion in ChatGPT creator OpenAI.
Buying AMD chips would secure Anthropic much-needed AI computing capacity. The startup has emerged as one of the leaders in Silicon Valley's artificial intelligence race, thanks to strong adoption of its enterprise tools such as Claude Code.
"It's strategically significant, as each win deepens AMD's credibility as the number-two to Nvidia and supports the slow, steady share gains underpinning its AI growth story," said Emarketer ****** yst Jacob Bourne.

Interested in Archer Aviation Inc.? Here are five stocks we like better.
Archer Aviation and Anduril unveiled Thunder, a hybrid-electric autonomous rotorcraft aimed at defense applications.
The defense pivot could give Archer a second path beyond the slower regulatory timeline for civilian air taxis.
Archer still faces heavy cash burn, certification risk and a long commercialization runway despite its strong liquidity position.
The civilian electric vertical takeoff and landing market remains trapped in a regulatory holding pattern. Developing a functional urban air-taxi network requires deep consumer adoption, local infrastructure overhauls, and grueling Federal Aviation Administration approvals.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a competitive necessity across retail. From personalised shopping experiences and demand forecasting to inventory optimisation and customer service automation, AI is changing how retailers operate and engage with customers.
Yet for many businesses, embracing AI presents a difficult challenge. Investing too slowly risks losing market share, while replacing ageing technology and integrating new systems demands significant time, money and expertise.
The result is a growing technology divide. Retailers with modern digital platforms are moving AI projects from pilot programmes into everyday operations.
Those still relying on legacy systems often struggle to unlock the same benefits because their technology was not designed to support today's data-driven applications. Industry research consistently identifies legacy infrastructure, fragmented data and skills shortages as among the biggest barriers to successful AI adoption.
At the same time, retailers continue to increase investment in AI to improve efficiency, customer experience and decision-making.
