George Russell says this year's world championship is Kimi Antonelli's "to lose" after the Briton's retirement from the last race in Canada.
Russell heads into this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix with a 43-point deficit to his Mercedes team-mate after the Briton's engine failed while leading in Montreal.
Italian Antonelli, 19, has won four races in a row, while Russell's only grand prix victory this year was in the season-opening race in Australia.
Monaco is the sixth round of what is now a 22-race season.
"If I look at it from my competitor's position, you're kind of in a position now that you've got such a buffer, it feels like you can only keep it or you can only lose it," Russell said.

NEWBURGH — Lily Greenwell had zero clue on the location of the softball.
Her first instinct, and the correct one, was to sprint out of the batter's box on contact. Not even as Greenwell burned past second base did it occur that the ball was sitting 15 feet beyond the right field wall at Lockyear Field. It took seeing her teammates spill out of the dugout for everything to finally click.
That swing won the Class 4A regional championship.

It appears Castle has Brunson's utmost respect and attention before this series begins Wednesday. "He's great. I think his intensity and tenacity is special," Brunson said during media day at San Antonio's Frost Bank Center on Tuesday. "He plays with a chip on his shoulder. He's had that since I've seen him at UConn. The way he's played over these first couple years of his career, he's going to be a great player, great defender."

Jun. 2—STEPHEN, Minn. — Emily Marquis was touring Bemidji State's campus when Allison LaVine, a two-time Minnesota Class A champion in the discus, left class to chat with her.
"She ran out and said hi," Marquis said. "We were talking, holding up the tour."
Marquis, a senior thrower for West Marshall, has grown close with the former Clearbrook-Gonvick thrower. On paper, LaVine could very well have been considered one of Marquis' primary rivals over the past few years.
Marquis took first place in the discus at last year's Minnesota Section 8A championships, while LaVine finished second.
At the ensuing Class A state meet, however, LaVine won her second consecutive discus championship while Marquis finished third.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the first game of a four-game road series in a pitchers’ duel against the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1.
Emmet Sheehan started the game for the Dodgers, and threw 6.1 innings in the outing. Sheehan only allowed three hits on the night, but two of them found their way over the fence and he earned a loss for the outing. He also struck out three batters on the night.
The Dodgers had the first big chance of the game in the second inning, when they had runners on first and second with just no outs in the middle of the order. They loaded the bases with two outs later in the inning through a Miguel Rojas infield single, but Alex Call couldn’t knock them in.
They came through the following inning, though, as Shohei Ohtani and Andy Pages hit consecutive doubles to start the inning. Ohtani didn’t score on Pages’ double, though, so Freddie Freeman scored him with a groundout.
The game went quiet for the next several innings, with the Dodgers managing a baserunner here and there but leaving them stranded. The Diamondbacks took advantage of the Dodgers’ inability to convert, as Tommy Troy hit a solo shot to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka praised the support of the crowd - and even moonwalked on court - after beating Naomi Osaka in straight sets to advance to her fourth consecutive French Open quarter-final.
The 28-year-old was playing in the first women's singles match to be held in the night session on Court Philippe Chatrier since 2023 - and only the fifth since one-match night sessions were introduced in 2021 - and was jokingly disappointed to see off the 16th seed in an hour and 26 minutes, telling the crowd she wanted to "keep going".
However, in a meeting between two of the heaviest baseline hitters in the women's game, Sabalenka's accuracy on serve and delicate drop shots proved the difference as she came through 7-5 6-3 to beat Osaka for the third time in the past three months.
Four-time Grand Slam singles champion Sabalenka, the only player with experience of playing in a major final left in the women's draw, will face 25th seed Diana Shnaider in the last eight as she continues her bid for a maiden French Open ******* le.
"It is amazing to play in the night session. I really want to keep going. Thank you for bringing such an amazing atmosphere. You guys make this place special," Sabalenka told the crowd.

Not many programs can walk into Louisiana, go head-to-head with LSU for an elite defensive back, and come away with a commitment. That is exactly why landing Blaine Bradford was such a significant recruiting victory.
For years, Baton Rouge has been one of the most difficult places in the country for outside programs to win major recruiting battles. Louisiana consistently produces elite defensive back talent, and more often than not, those players end up staying home and playing for LSU. When the Tigers make a prospect a priority, especially an in-state blue-chip defender, they rarely lose.
Yet, Ohio State not only entered the race for Bradford, but they won it. Bradford arrived in Columbus as one of the highest-rated defensive backs in his recruiting class. Recruiting services viewed him as one of the top safeties in America, with some rankings placing him as the No. 1 safety prospect nationally. At roughly 6-foot-1 and 209 pounds, Bradford already possesses the frame that NFL teams covet at the position. He combines size, physicality, range, and football intelligence in a package that projects exceptionally well to the modern game.
The reality is that Buckeye fans probably will not see much of him this season, and that is perfectly fine. In fact, that may be exactly how Ohio State wants it.
The biggest obstacle standing between Bradford and immediate playing time is not talent. It is an opportunity. Ohio State enters 2026 with one of the deepest and most experienced defensive back rooms in the country. Veterans such as Terry Moore, Earl Little Jr, Jaylen McLain, and even Leroy Roker give Matt Patricia and Matt Guerrieri plenty of proven options in the secondary.

Giants working out more than just Odell Beckham Jr. on Monday originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Giants are bringing Odell Beckham Jr. in for another workout after doing so before the 2026 NFL Draft.
But OBJ isn't the only one: Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports that Big Blue is also taking a look at Braxton Berrios, Juju Smith-Schuster and Anthony Miller.
The Giants' interest in wide receivers come in the wake of the team losing wideout and returner Gunner Olszewski to a torn Achilles.
Beckham and New York have been flirting with a reunion all offseason long. The injury to Olszewski only strengthens the possibility that happens.
