Trading at about a $17 share price, Nano Nuclear Energy (NASDAQ: NNE) has the sort of moonshot potential that could turn a modest investment into something larger.
That's not because of the low sticker price. Any cheap-looking stock could pop at the drop of a hat, but only those with a compelling business model to match will sustain their gains over the long term.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
For Nano Nuclear, the long-term upside is tied to future energy consumption. The technology being built, a nuclear microreactor, could be essential for generating the kind of reliable, round-the-clock power that many industries need, including data center operators, military and research bases, and mining and industrial sites.
Electricity demand is expected to rise sharply enough that **** ysts at Bank of America believe nuclear energy could unlock a market opportunity worth up to $10 trillion over the next 25 years.

Nick Cannon understands the absurdity of the amount of children he has, and now he has filmed a comedy sketch about the lengths he's willing to go to avoid paying child support.
"Nick, it's time to pay child support," his girlfriend Bre Tiesi says at the start of the comedy skit, which can be seen below. "Como say what?" he replies, seemingly shocked. She insists that he needs to pay up, only for him to respond in Amish garb, "No, I don't, I'm Amish." She's confused about what that has to do with her request, and he pivots to blaming a vaccine and then suggesting that he doesn't have to pay if he has over ten children.
Cannon has 12 children with six different women, but as Tiesi points out, his excuse about not having to pay up because of the number of kids he has would only apply in foreign countries. He then vanishes and gives her a FaceTime call from China, showing just how far he's willing to go to not pay child support.
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
This isn't the first time Cannon and Tiesi—who share one child together, Legendary Love Cannon—have filmed a skit about their relationship. Back in 2023, they shared a video in which he jokes about her making more money than him.

A finance employee at the global design firm Arup transferred $25.6 million in a deepfake fraud after joining a video call with synthetic versions of senior executives. The faces looked real. The voices sounded real. The instructions were false.
That was not an isolated warning. Starbucks quietly retired an AI inventory system only nine months after deployment after baristas reported that it miscounted products and slowed their work. Deloitte's Australian member firm agreed to partially refund the government for a $290,000 AI-assisted report that included nonexistent academic sources and a fabricated court quotation. Different industries. Different technologies. The same failure: people could not trust the output, the identity, or the system.
Trust is becoming a form of economic infrastructure. Companies that cannot engineer it will move slower, spend more, and lose markets. When trust is strong, capital moves, partnerships form, and companies scale. When it breaks, transactions slow, compliance and insurance costs rise, and leaders retreat from risk.
Trust is not blind faith. It is earned confidence that facts are real, identities are authentic, systems are secure, contracts will be honored, and someone will be accountable when things go wrong. In business terms, trust reduces friction. In strategic terms, it creates speed.
As America marks its 250th anniversary, we should remember that trust was not a side note to the founding. It was the bet. In my first three essays in this Freedom & Enterprise series, I described the Declaration of Independence as America's first founding bet, the system it created as one that let people build free, and the freedom to fail as one of our greatest competitive advantages. Beneath all three is a more fundamental principle: America trusted free people to govern themselves, take risks, honor commitments, and build institutions strong enough to survive disagreement.

Two weeks after what was considered a successful World Cup, FIFA is drawing the wrong kind of headlines.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino's proposal to sell stakes in the World Cup through private investment is dead. In a statement late Friday, Infantino said he "listened carefully to all the views, it has become clear that the project has created divisions of a nature that, regardless of the level of support, are no longer in the interest of the objective set out in the first place."
"Moving forward, my intent is to bring all interested parties back together in the coming days and weeks in the spirit of shared interest in our game, and with the objective to continue growing football everywhere, particularly in those countries that mostly need our support," Infantino added in his statement.
The backlash to Infantino's idea started immediately with confederations, including UEFA, which governs European soccer, criticizing the plan and threatening to boycott future competitions.
Here's a rundown of Infantino's original idea, how it all fell apart, and what might come next.

CAIRO, August 2 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said late on Saturday the U.S. would hold off on a fresh attack on Iran as long as a deal could be reached quickly to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran and other Middle ‌Eastern countries asked for time to complete a deal that would lead to "the Immediate, Complete and Total" reopening of the vital strait and "an end to Iran's nuclear ‌threat," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. He did not name the countries in the post, which followed a call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, a U.S. ally.
"Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL," Trump wrote.
Israel "joins me in this commitment," he said. Israel did not immediately respond on Sunday to a request for comment on the U.S. president's posts.

With the number of drones and missiles flying toward energy infrastructure in the Gulf these days, it might seem like a strange time to pour capital into that sector, in that region. But a gold rush is shaping up to profit from new workarounds to the Strait of Hormuz.
A group of US and Saudi investors said Wednesday they're closing in on a site for a $5 billion oil refining complex. It will be somewhere in the Gulf region, but outside the Strait, the project's organizers told me. With the aim to process up to 200,000 barrels of crude oil daily, it would be smaller than the major Gulf refineries. But the idea is to set up a port-connected "energy corridor" for producing and exporting not just staples like gasoline but also plastics, fertilizers, and just about anything else one can squeeze out of a hydrocarbon.
The idea was born before the war broke out, Mark Gunderson, a Texas oil developer whose MWG Enterprises is a partner in the project, told me. But now its logic is especially clear: Given the security and infrastructure limits on how much crude can flow out of the region, turning the oil into something else first can make it accessible to a broader range of traders and export vessels. "What can you do to make the oil move faster?" he said. "It doesn't necessarily have to be different or bigger pipes. It has to be technical solutions, and products that flow easier."
The project, whose other backers include the Patel Family Office and Saudi's AHQ Group, is part of a larger tide of capital flowing into Gulf oil infrastructure. Chevron is doubling down in Iraq. The UAE is building new pipelines and ports. On Monday, private equity giants Brookfield, Blackstone, and KKR signed a $16 billion lease on Kuwait's national pipeline network. "Security risks may be encouraging investment in more resilient infrastructure, rather than deterring it," said Salih Yilmaz, senior oil ******* yst at Bloomberg Intelligence.
The refinery project has plenty of hurdles ahead. But as refinery construction stalls out in the US and Europe, and a wider variety of crudes from Africa and elsewhere flow the Gulf, now is a good time to take the risk, Lakshmi Narayanan, Patel's vice-chair, told me: "Pre-conflict and post-conflict, Gulf countries have always been open [for energy investment], but now the market's sentiments are different."

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland said he is "very concerned" that President Donald Trump will wield the power of the federal government to thwart the midterm elections this fall as the Republican tries to maintain his grip on power during the final two years of his administration.
In an interview as he becomes chair of the National Governors ***** ociation, the potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender ticked through Trump's efforts to restrict voting by mail, obtain voter information from states and possibly deploy federal troops or agents to polling places. Moore said there was a role for the NGA, a bipartisan group, to ensure states are able to oversee elections as designed by the U.S. Constitution.
"I don't think that the president is trying to hide the ball on this," Moore said. "It's not even am I concerned about what the president could do? I'm concerned about what he's already doing in broad daylight."
The 47-year-old governor's national profile is rising as he ***** umes the top leadership post for the nation's governors on Saturday, a role once held by Bill Clinton when he was governor of Arkansas. Moore is the subject of frequent speculation that he will announce a presidential run, a prospect he rules out, saying he will not "get distracted" before the November elections.
His travel to early presidential testing grounds such as South Carolina and Nevada, though, suggests he may run. Moore is proving himself a savvy digital communicator and crafts an image as a newcomer to politics while voters demand change.

Apple says it has now topped 1.5 billion subscribers for its services business, up from 1 billion in January 2025. However, this segment of Apple's business, which includes the Apple Store, AppleCare, music, video, and cloud services, was the only miss in what was otherwise a record-breaking quarter for the company's hardware sales.
In Apple's fiscal third quarter, the company reported $30.74 billion in services revenue, falling short of the $31.22 billion Wall Street **** ysts had expected. Combined with a miss in China, Apple's stock tumbled over 4% in after-hours trading.
When asked to dive into what led to the decline in services revenue, Apple CFO Kevan Parekh pointed to several factors. Most notable, however, were the impacts on Apple's cash cow, the App Store.
One factor contributing to the App Store's performance in the quarter was a slowdown in mobile gaming. It also called out the App Store business model changes in certain countries, including the U.S.
The latter is a reference to Apple being under a court order that requires it to now allow app developers to process customer payments outside the App Store — and outside the reach of Apple's commission. While Apple didn't say to what extent this specific issue had impacted App Store revenue, it did remind investors that the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court for a final decision.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has yet to miss a practice this training camp while he recovers from a July 14 car accident in Palo Alto for which he ultimately took responsibility. He consistently shows up midway through, staying a little bit longer each time. Friday was his longest stint as an observer.
He watched for over an hour, scribbling notes between snaps, then jogged to the post-practice huddle to listen from the outskirts.
At one point Shanahan also found himself no more than 10 yards from the loud music being pumped from a practice speaker during a situational red-zone team period, after typically standing a much more comfortable distance from the speaker on the adjacent field in previous practices. He told a small group of reporters earlier this week the music had been "killing" him as he recovers from serious concussion symptoms. Friday was perhaps a sign of progress that he could brave the proximity for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
"He's there with us when we watch our tape after practice, and he's Kyle to me," said acting head coach Chris Foerster.
"I think he's challenging himself and pushing himself. I see him every day. I think he stays a little bit more, or tries to. I'm not sure (of) the whole routine. But I see Kyle being Kyle a whole lot right now."

Contech giant Procore has entered an agreement to acquire DroneDeploy, a prominent robotics and visual intelligence platform that's used in over 180 countries, according to a Wednesday announcement. Procore will acquire the firm for $845 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments.
When the acquisition closes later this year, Procore and DroneDeploy will sell one another's solutions to their client base, Ajei Gopal, president and CEO of Procore, said in the announcement.
The combination will create a veritable ocean of construction data. By pairing the two tech companies' capabilities, builders will be able to use cameras, drones and robots to regularly evaluate jobsites and automatically initiate appropriate responses securely, compliantly and in context, per the announcement.
The deal underscores the power of data control in a landscape dominated by artificial intelligence. Simply put, data is king.

Following a subdued start to the year, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) jumped in the second quarter after the Middle East crisis slashed crude supply and hiked oil and fuel prices, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said in a report on Thursday.
Global sales of electric cars fell in the first quarter of 2026, largely reflecting lower sales in the United States and China, according to the agency's report 'Electric Car Markets in a Time of Uncertainty'.
However, EV sales rebounded sharply in the second quarter, rising by 35% compared with the first quarter "as the energy crisis sparked by the war in the Middle East brought fuel price volatility back into sharp focus," the IEA said.
EV sales in the second quarter reached record-high levels in 50 countries as drivers preferred electric vehicles amid soaring fuel prices.
In sizable car markets such as Brazil, India, Australia, and Vietnam, electric car sales roughly doubled between March and June compared with the same period in 2025, according to the IEA's ******* ysis in the report.

Less than two weeks after what was considered a successful World Cup, FIFA is drawing the wrong kind of headlines.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has brought forth a proposal to all of its 211 member ****** ociations to raise $20 billion through private investment by selling stakes in the top FIFA-run tournaments. That would include both the men's and women's World Cups.
The backlash has already started from confederations, including UEFA, which governs European soccer. But while calls to reject the plan have been loud, all Infantino needs is 106 of 211 votes to move forward. The cash infusion for bigger member ****** ociations, like Spain, France and England, among many others, is nothing compare to what the money could do for smaller countries looking to further develop the programs in their respective countries.
Here's a rundown of what's at stake and what could happen next.
Infantino, who has been in charge of FIFA since 2016, wants to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors, including Joshua Kushner, the brother of U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The transaction would be done through Thrive Capital, a venture-capital firm.

When Ayami Sato takes the mound as the starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Queens on Saturday, it will be the culmination of a professional career that has spanned 16 years and three countries. The right-handed hurler is largely considered the best pitcher in the history of women's baseball. She has the awards and experience to prove it, and now she's taking on America when she makes her debut in the Women's Professional Baseball League, the first pro women's baseball league in the United States since the 1950s.
Even though most Americans tuning into the WPBL may not have heard of her, Sato's resume speaks for itself. Sato's fastball has been clocked at nearly 80mph and her curveball has a devastating spin rate that is higher than many Major League Baseball pitchers. As a member of the ****** an National Team since 2010, Sato has won six gold medals. She is the only player in Women's Baseball World Cup history to win three consecutive MVP awards. As a member of the now-defunct ****** an's Women's Baseball League, Sato led the league in strikeouts in three of the last four seasons. And most recently, in 2024 she became the first woman to play pro baseball in Canada as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Intercounty Baseball League.
Now, she is bringing her talent to the US and the WPBL. "This is a brand new league for all of us," Sato tells the Guardian through a translator. "So I also want to approach it with the mindset of a rookie –staying curious, paying attention to everything around me, and embracing this new challenge with an open mind."
The league will play all its games in a centralized location for its first season, at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois. There are four teams – the Queens, the New York Heights, the San Francisco Firebells and the Boston Hunters. And the best players from all over the world will take the field together for the first time as one league, including at least nine players from the US women's national baseball team. On the Queens, Sato will play alongside USA star third baseman Ashton Lansdell and Little League World Series star Mo'ne Davis.
WPBL co-founder and commissioner Justine Seigel says it was always the plan to recruit internationally for the league. "We want many of the best players, and to have many of the best players, you have to go out into the world and find the best shortstop in Venezuela, and who's pitching in ****** an," Seigel says. "It's also fun because baseball is baseball, but it's also got its own little nuances country-to-country, and it's kind of fun to see in a game, as well."

The Miami Marlins and Telemundo have announced a local deal that will see the Marlins broadcast games over-the-air in Spanish for the first time.
The agreement will see two Marlins games air in Spanish on WSCV (Channel 51) in Miami: Sunday, Aug. 9, vs. the Los Angeles Angels at 1:40 p.m. ET and the regular-season finale on Sunday, Sept. 27, vs. the Atlanta Braves at 3:10 p.m. ET.
Unlike most Spanish-language broadcasts, the Marlins games on Telemundo will feature a dedicated broadcast team. Jose Francisco Rivera will handle play-by-play, with Daniel Álvarez-Montes providing color commentary.
"Baseball is deeply rooted in the Spanish-speaking community, and that is especially true here in South Florida," said Caroline O'Connor, Miami Marlins President of Business. "Our partnership with Telemundo 51 Miami allows us to connect with Spanish-speaking fans in a more meaningful way through Spanish-language broadcasts while expanding access to Marlins baseball across the region."
Major League Baseball has a large Hispanic following, with the sport being popular in countries like Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Panama, all of which have large diasporas in the United States. Miami has an especially large Hispanic community.

"Nobody is selling football," FIFA said in a statement hitting back at widespread criticism over a plan to allow private investors to acquire stakes in upcoming World Cup tournaments.
"This is not something FIFA would ever entertain." In a statement, FIFA said all of its member **** ociations should have a chance to consider the plan, calling for an "open and democratic" consultation.
But it appeared to back off from establishing a public equity entity, the so-called FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), if all member countries do not agree. It was not immediately clear, however, how the process would proceed in substance.
The Union of European Football **** ociations (UEFA) had threatened to boycott the World Cup over Infantino's plan on Thursday afternoon. Soon after, the football federations of CONCACAF (North and Central America), also voiced their unanimous opposition to the plan.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup was a rousing success, but it wasn't perfect. One standout hiccup was the final venue: New York/New Jersey Stadium, aka MetLife, which simply wasn't up to the standards of the world's biggest sporting match.
We've only just managed to catch our breath after a spine-tingling 2026 FIFA World Cup, and yet, the focus is already shifting towards the 2030 edition.
Like 2026, there will be three official host nations in Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, but to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the tournament, the first three matches will take place in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina — making this the first World Cup to feature across six countries and three continents.
But four years out from the competition, there is plenty still up in the air. It's uncertain how many teams will participate, and the final venue is still yet to be determined.
While Spain is confident of securing the rights to the final after the Santiago Bernabéu's €1.35 billion renovation, don't count Morocco out. The Hassan II Stadium is currently under construction just outside of Casablanca, and with a planned capacity of 115,000, it would be the biggest football stadium in the world upon completion.

Life comes at you fast in Formula 1, and no team is feeling the whiplash of the 2026 regulations quite like McLaren. Just months after celebrating Lando Norris's maiden World Championship victory, the papaya garage has found itself completely on the back foot.
As McLaren desperately tries to claw back performance against the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari, the paddock rumor mill is already spinning. According to former Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner, if McLaren cannot fix their underlying issues, their star driver won't hesitate to trigger an exit strategy.
But to understand why Norris might be looking for the door, you have to look at the massive technical overhaul introduced for the 2026 season.
The new regulations fundamentally changed how F1 cars generate power, removing the complex MGU-H and demanding a 50:50 power delivery split between the internal combustion engine and the electric MGU-K. This aggressive shift to electrification has heavily favored factory works teams.
