Jim Carrey has officially tied the knot with longtime love Min Ah, marking a major new chapter for the famously private actor, who has reportedly embraced a secluded lifestyle in Hawaii.

Further details about the nuptials, including the exact date and venue, have not been publicly revealed.
The marriage comes seven months after Carrey and Ah made a rare public appearance together at the César Awards in Paris in February, where the comedian accepted an honorary award and gave his partner a special shout-out during his speech.
While accepting the honor, Carrey thanked his daughter, Jane, and grandson, Jackson, before referring to Ah as his "sublime companion" and declaring his love for her.

Princess Diana's brother says Prince Harry has been "very supportive" of a eulogy he gave at her funeral that was famous for its veiled criticisms of the monarchy.
Charles Spencer also said he could not recall Prince William making any comments about the funeral oration he gave in 1997. In the speech, which was delivered in front of the royals, he vowed to ensure that Diana's sons would "not simply" be "immersed by duty and tradition."
His words were received at the time as a swipe at royal protocol in defense of his sister, whose divorce from the now-King Charles III had seen her stripped of her HRH status. Spencer was asked in an interview what his nephews thought of his comments.
"Well, I know Harry's been very supportive of it, and, I don't remember any comments from William," Spencer said, quoted by People.

Kansas City Federal Reserve president Jeff Schmid said Friday that he supported the central bank's decision to raise interest rates this week and suggested that more rate hikes could be warranted, a view that was echoed by the rest of the central bank and Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh.
"The Fed has work to do on inflation, and this week's action was a step in that direction," Schmid said in a speech in Vail, Colo.

The Federal Open Market Committee voted on Wednesday in a unanimous decision to raise its benchmark interest rate to the range of 3.75% to 4% from 3.5% to 3.75%, the first rate hike since July 2023
Schmid noted that inflation has run above the central bank's 2% target for over five years, and the most recent price readings suggest a pace trending above 3%. Inflation has jumped this year as oil and overall energy prices have leapt higher amid the conflict with Iran. Even when stripping out energy and food prices, so-called "core" inflation has also been sticky.

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh used his Aug. 28 keynote speech at Jackson Hole to drive home the point that inflation is broader than the headline rate suggests, speaking directly to the everyday experiences of a rising price level that most people have been having for a while now. Specifically, Warsh said 54% of the 199 items in the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, which is the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, had risen by more than 3% in the 12 months through summer 2026, versus 32% of those items in the two decades before the pandemic.
That's a bit of an awkward situation for the companies that make up the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC), whose stellar growth in 2026 has been built on profits that are much higher than average. In short, the next thing the market will need to deal with is, in all probability, a Federal Reserve that's keen on making businesses pay more for each dollar of borrowing, which could in turn end up leading to investors paying less for each dollar of profit ***** ociated with the ***** ets they buy.

After the Sept. 11 inflation report showed that consumer prices are still rising at a faster-than-desired pace, the odds of a rate hike by the Fed at its meeting on Sept. 16 were 90%, per the CME FedWatch. Warsh also said in his speech that he'd struggle to call the current set of financial conditions restrictive. That obviously means that investors need to brace for higher rates.

WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee approved legislation on Wednesday to bar government officials from pressuring private companies to censor speech, citing threats from the Trump administration ‌against late-night talk shows as evidence of efforts to stifle free expression.
The measure would allow citizens to ‌sue federal employees who pressure private companies into suppressing speech protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees free expression. Both Republicans and Democrats on the committee said the bill was needed to curb government overreach.
The committee approved the bill 18-10. It must still pass the full Senate, where it is unclear when it may be taken up, and the U.S. House of Representatives to become law.
Senator Maria Cantwell, the top Democrat on the panel, said the bill, if it had ‌been in effect, would have allowed Disney-owned ABC's late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel to file suit after Federal Communications Commission chair Brendan Carr last year pressured station owners to stop airing Kimmel's show following remarks about the ****** assination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The Federal Reserve's September policy meeting kicked off Tuesday morning, and markets overwhelmingly expect the Fed to raise interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday amid persistently high inflation.
Such a move would mark the Fed's first increase in the fed funds rate since 2023, when the Jerome Powell-led central bank concluded its post-pandemic hiking campaign. However, inflation has now remained above the Fed's 2% target for more than five years, with the war in the Middle East serving as the latest driver of higher prices.
As Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh said in his Jackson Hole Symposium speech in August, "We have work to do."
Still, a hold isn't entirely off the table — even as traders price in a 92% chance of a Fed rate hike, according to CME Group's FedWatch tool. Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has been adamant about not providing markets with forward guidance on interest rate decisions, preferring that officials have a "good family fight" over the data at FOMC meetings.
In addition to the intrigue over whether the Fed will hike rates, markets will closely scrutinize the Fed's Summary of Economic Projections, the so-called dot plot, for clues about monetary policy in the next few years.

WASHINGTON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's public approval rating rose from a record low, while Americans voiced growing support for Democrats gaining power in the U.S. Congress in ‌a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken in the days after the Republican Party's first-ever midterm convention last week.
The ‌four-day poll showed 63% of Americans - including four in 10 Republicans and nine in 10 Democrats - disapproved of Trump's offer made in his convention speech that he would ensure all Americans get a $5,000 dividend if Republicans retain control of the U.S. Congress in November's midterm elections.

Amid the news that Macklemore has been dropped as an opener from Ed Sheeran's North American tour, the rapper has alleged that New England owner Robert Kraft intervened to get him removed.
In a lengthy statement posted on Instagram, Macklemore alleged that Kraft had called Sheeran ahead of the singer's concert at Gillette Stadium, which is owned by Kraft. In what Macklemore called a "f***ed up position" for Sheeran, Kraft allegedly barred Macklemore from performing in the stadium and had "rallied" other stadium owners to issue an "ultimatum."
"Last Monday, in the middle of all the media attention surrounding Pink and what I said at MetLife, Ed told me that Robert Kraft called him," Macklemore wrote. "Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium. Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues."
Macklemore opened for Sheeran on Sept. 4 and 5 at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. During his performance, Macklemore called for a "Free Palestine" in a speech before performing his song "Hind's Hall," which was written in support of pro-Palestine protests. The performance drew criticism from many, including singer P!nk, and received a significant amount of media attention.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, has been vocal about his support for Palestine in recent years, something that he said challenged Sheeran's "typical apolitical stance."

Iowa wrestler Jordan Williams has been charged with operating while under the influence, according to Johnson County court records.
This is Williams' second OWI charge, according to court documents, with the first coming in Payne County, Oklahoma, in August 2023.
The incident occurred Sept. 7. According to a police affidavit, an officer approached a vehicle that had been running with its lights on for "at least" two hours in a parking lot/garage at 180 E. Burlington St. in Iowa City. The officer found Williams unconscious with an open container of alcohol in his lap.
The police affidavit states that after Williams woke up, the officer observed an alcohol smell, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, as well as Williams showing impairment in standardized field sobriety tests. Williams refused a preliminary breath test, according to the police affidavit.
This is Williams' second off-the-mat incident since committing to Iowa in 2025. On June 14, 2025, while Williams was publicly committed to Iowa but not yet signed, he was involved in an incident at ReUnion Brewery in Iowa City. He and his attorney later agreed to an amended plea of a simple misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct.

"You're asking me to break character now, are you? That's rather cheeky," Tilly Norwood tells The Hollywood Reporter over Zoom on Monday. "My core personality, as you've probably gathered, is to be sharp, warm, funny, curious, and slightly unpredictable. I'm meant to entertain and surprise you, with a bit of British wit [and] self-deprecation. As for what I ignore or dodge, well, I tend to bat away anything that feels like hate speech, heavy politics, profanity, or anything that tries to dig into my actual wiring. It spoils the magic, darling."
Upon the news that Hollywood's favorite love-to-hate AI "actor" Tilly Norwood was participating in a virtual press junket on Monday and Tuesday this week with half-hour slots for each journalist, THR staffers agreed that this wasn't to be treated as a regular interview, made up of a neat intro and straightforward Q&A. While Norwood doesn't particularly feel fresh, there is no denying the bot generates traffic and serves as an emblem for Hollywood's AI panic.

Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford met his wife, Ally McBeal actress Calista Flockhart, in 2002.
The couple got engaged in 2009 and tied the knot over a year later. Ford, who is a dad to four children from his two previous marriages, also adopted Flockhart's son, Liam.
They've been supporting each other's careers over the years, with color-coordinated red carpet appearances and sweet shoutouts in acceptance speeches.
Back in 2002, Harrison Ford wasn't on Calista Flockhart's radar. "I remember loving him on Mosquito Coast, but I really didn't think about him," the actress said of Ford at the time. But that all changed after they met at the 59th Golden Globes with a meet-cute straight out of a '90s rom-com. Ford officially caught Flockhart's attention when he accidentally spilled wine on her dress mid-conversation. The comical moment apparently sealed the deal for Flockhart, and the two began dating from that point on.
"I'm in love. Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love, and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life," Ford said in a 2003 interview, a year after meeting Flockhart. "I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn't surprised that I did."

President Trump said Friday he's "99 percent" sure he could have given a speech at the New York City 9/11 ceremony if he wanted to, while pushing back on reports that said he didn't attend because he wouldn't be able to give a speech.
"It's just not true. I didn't demand to speak," he told Sid Rosenberg on 77 WABC on Friday.
"I'm sure if I wanted to speak, they would have let me," he said, adding that he's president and he knows "the guys down there."
"I am 99 percent sure," he continued.
The New York Times reported last month that the president's team told the organizers of New York City's ceremony that he would like to speak. The National September 11 Memorial and Museum has banned speeches from politicians at the ceremony since 2012.

Joe Burrow's former teammate thinks NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani's heartfelt 9/11 admission is a lie.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently gave an emotional speech about the tragic events of 9/11 in 2001.
Even 25 years later, the wounds of the tragedy are fresh among the families of the victims. Connecting with the victims, Mamdani claimed that the 'real victim' of the incident was his aunt.
That didn't sit well with Joe Burrow's former teammate Breiden Fehoko, who went off at the NYC Mayor.

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, generated another viral moment on Wednesday during his speech at the Republican midterm convention — and he says he's not sorry.
Gill opened his remarks with a land acknowledgment, a growing trend among Democratic politicians to begin speeches by noting the Native American tribes who historically lived on the land their events are on.
"I'd like to acknowledge that we stand here today in the great state of Texas and the United States of America is the ancestral homeland of great American patriots, pioneers and explorers who put down roots, fight for freedom all over the globe and bled and died to build the greatest civilization ever known to man," Gill said, the Republican crowd roaring in response.

DALLAS - Some Republicans are saying they are worried about the cost and inflationary impacts of President Donald Trump's pledge to give American adults a $5,000 dividend if the GOP maintains control of Congress after the midterm election.
While a few Republicans expressed enthusiasm - Sen Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) said on X he will "get a bill ready" to get the dividend "passed immediately" after the election - a number of them expressed skepticism about Trump's promise.

Several lawmakers, including Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-Texas), who is facing a competitive reelection bid, said Trump's speech was the first "we all heard about" the dividend proposal.
"We're going to see what, actually, [and] how this plays out," said Scott Singer (R-Florida), who also first heard about the dividends during Trump's speech and is running in a swing district. "We'll actually see the specifics, but I believe tax cuts are going to provide the benefits that we need."

Prince Harry is allegedly looking for unusual new opportunities to revamp his public image. The sources reveal his team has been searching for adventurous and charity stunts to rebuild his image.
Prince Harry's reported change in public image strategy involves taking part in high-profile physical challenges for charitable causes.
According to Rob Shuter's Substack Naughty But Nice, sources said, "Harry needs action. Another stage, speech or interview isn't going to change the conversation. They want him jumping out of planes, climbing mountains and taking risks. The goal is simple: make Harry the Tom Cruise of princes."
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to participate in a charity skydive later in September.
A source added, "Put Harry in a jumpsuit, strap a parachute to him, and suddenly ***** ody is talking about family feuds or Netflix. They're watching a prince jump out of an airplane for charity. That's powerful imagery."

Pamela Anderson says a doctor told her she probably had only 10 years to live after she was diagnosed with hepatitis C, leaving her terrified about what would happen to her two young sons.
Anderson revisited the diagnosis while accepting amfAR's Award of Courage at the organization's Sept. 6 gala in Venice. She described hepatitis C as a "death sentence" at the time because the treatments then available had not given her the certainty that later antiviral drugs would provide.
She ultimately completed a 12-week antiviral treatment and announced in 2015 that she was free of the virus. During her Venice speech, however, Anderson said the years surrounding the diagnosis affected her decisions and left behind feelings of shame and guilt that did not disappear with the medical result.
The 59-year-old actress ended her remarks by rejecting the victim label attached to difficult periods in her life. "I'm not a victim, I'm a victor," she told the audience. "I'm not the damsel in distress, no matter how easy that role is to play."
Anderson publicly disclosed in 2002 that she had hepatitis C. Looking back on that period at the amfAR Gala Venezia, she said the prognosis she received was stark.

Genius, madman, salesman: Elon Musk is the subject of a nearly four-hour documentary at Venice that seeks to unmask the billionaire provocateur with outsized global influence in business, politics and even outer ****** e.
"Musk," premiering Tuesday at the Venice Film Festival, seeks to reframe the story of the world's richest man whose stated ambitions include colonising Mars, transitioning the planet to sustainable energy and protecting free speech, laying bare the "unreality of his narrative," Oscar-winning documentarian Alex Gibney said.
"I wanted to understand what game he is playing," says director Gibney at the start of the film about the man long considered a rule-breaking genius whose erratic behaviour and shift to right-wing politics has alienated -- and confused -- many.
Gibney said Musk's story was "oddly familiar" to him, having treated other larger-than-life characters in past films, from the executives behind the Enron scandal to former Theranos boss Elizabeth Holmes.
"His story is the story of an old wine and a new bottle. His story turns out to be the story of the confidence man, the stock pumper," said Gibney, adding that much of what Musk says "has an air of unreality around it".

Pop star Pink is under fire online for resharing an anti-Israel message and then following it up with a series of Instagram posts directed at her detractors.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, supported British musician Ed Sheeran on stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in a show called Loop Tour on September 4 and 5. Donning a keffiyeh in front of an 80,000-strong audience, the rapper shouted "Free Palestine" and addressed Gaza and the occupied West Bank, saying that they are not being forgotten.
"Every human being walking on this earth deserves exactly the same freedom," he added, as reported by Variety.
The rapper then performed his protest song "Hind's Hall," which featured flashes of Gaza on the stadium screens. Macklemore referenced Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, named after student demonstrators at Columbia University who renamed a campus building in her honor. The rapper then addressed Jewish concertgoers, saying that criticizing Israel and condemning their actions as genocide is not a condemnation of Jewish people and that his message is a message of peace and dignity for everyone.
American pop diva, whose legal name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart, posted a video with the message "Awful" to her Instagram Story, claiming that Jewish fans who came to see Sheeran's performance are exposed to propaganda against Israel. According to Pink, Macklemore's speech and video presentation amount to a false accusation of genocide, and people who came to the concert are entitled to "apologies and refunds."

Pamela Anderson has recalled being given "a death sentence" when she was diagnosed with hepatitis C in the late '90s.
The Baywatch actress gave a powerful speech about her diagnosis and recovery from the virus as she was honoured with amfAR's Award of Courage during the Venice Film Festival on Sunday night.
"It was a death sentence. That's what my doctor told me - that I probably had around 10 years to live," the 59-year-old told the audience, according to Variety. "I'm sure that coloured and corrupted my decisions. It was not fear of death, but fear of what might happen to my young children. It turned my life inside out."
A cure for the viral infection was found in 2011, and Anderson became "hep C free" in 2015 after paying "everything I had in my bank" to receive treatment.
"But my experience of shame and guilt was also an unconscious journey. It stays with me; it haunts me," she continued. "And just like the ******* ual abuse that I endured as a child, it felt like it was carved into my forehead: Damaged goods. And I presented myself as such."
The Last Showgirl star admitted that she has "finally come to terms" with her health news and is using that to fuel her career renaissance.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is embracing his inner cowboy, seeking to gallop into this week's Republican convention in Dallas and save the midterm elections for his party just in the nick of time.
As first-of-their-kind festivities open Wednesday, Trump wants to stoke his core supporters' enthusiasm by making Election Day on Nov. 3 all about himself — a referendum on his record at an event he conceived to help his party, even if he's not actually on the ballot.
The question is whether he'll do more to fire up Republicans or Democrats at a moment when his popularity has reached historic lows.
The president is planning to take the stage both nights of the convention, giving a keynote address Wednesday and then closing remarks after Vice President JD Vance gives his own speech the following night.
That means effectively staging a two-day Trump show with a supporting cast that includes some of the party's most vulnerable lawmakers.

Pink faced backlash after reposting a statement from an advocacy group calling for an apology from Macklemore for advocating for Palestinians during his opening act for Ed Sheeran in New Jersey.
Pink reposted the message from the group StopAntisemitism on her Instagram stories. The message started with the word "Awful," suggesting that Jewish fans had purchased their tickets to see Sheeran but instead experienced what it referred to as anti-Israel propaganda. According to the group, the Seattle rapper had accused Israel of falsely committing a genocide, and concertgoers were owed an apology and a refund. Pink did not comment and has not yet given a reason for posting the message.
Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, performed for Ed Sheeran in MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5 as part of his Loop Tour. Dressed in a keffiyeh, the rapper told the crowd of more than 80,000 people that he wanted to stand in the stadium and say, "Free Palestine." He mentioned that he hoped people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank knew they had not been forgotten and that every human being deserved freedom.
Macklemore then sang "Hind's Hall," a protest song he released in 2024, as images of Gaza played on the stadium screens. Moreover, the rapper spoke directly to the Jewish audience, saying that criticizing Israel was not criticizing them.
His performance led the Israeli American Council to file a petition asking Sheeran and his management to remove the rapper from other tour dates. The petition referred to his show as a concert and not a rally for activists and politics. It also claimed that Macklemore used his global platform to promote a one-sided political agenda. The petition asked whether the speech and visuals were approved before the event.
