The injury bug has bitten Dakota Ditcheva once again. The standout fighter who's struggled to stay healthy since winning the 2024 PFL flyweight tournament announced she'll be headed back on the sidelines for an extended period following her latest victory.
PFL New York saw Ditcheva, 28, make a triumphant return two weeks ago when she earned a lopsided unanimous decision against former Bellator kickboxing champion Denise Kielholts. The flyweight star, however, revealed on her YouTube channel on Sunday that she has once again suffered a pair of broken hands.
"Breaking news: I am injured again. I broke my hands in the fight," Ditcheva said. "I could feel it from the second I started the second round. I didn't tell my corner. I didn't tell anybody. I didn't show it this time, and I didn't actually tell anybody until I got out of the cage.
"I am back in splints until my surgeon has decided what the next steps are going forward, which will be in the next few days."
Broken hands are nothing new for Ditcheva. The Kielholtz fight acted as Ditcheva's return to action after a dominant win against Sumiko Inaba in July 2025. Like in this latest appearance, Ditcheva first broke her hands in that bout, leading to her recovering for the better part of the year that followed.

PFL star Dakota Ditcheva has broken her hand again and will be out for an undetermined amount of time.
The 16-0 Ditcheva is coming off a dominant three round decision over Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York. While she didn't manage to score a highlight reel knockout, she put a beating on Kielholtz and reminded the world after a year long absence why she's the hottest up-and-comer in women's MMA.
Unfortunately, Ditcheva didn't exit the cage unscathed. In a new YouTube video she revealed that she injured her hands (again) in the fight.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has provided an update on several players ahead of the Black Cats' upcoming fixture against Ipswich Town.
On Nordi Mukiele, Le Bris played down the severity of the defender's issue but stressed the need to manage his recovery carefully.
"No, it's not too serious, it's a shame because I think his precision was really good, good standards, and he gave in goals on his right side, so just minor, but we need to take care of him," he said.
Omar Alderete is also expected to be available for selection soon, although Le Bris suggested he may have to settle for a place on the bench against Ipswich.
"With Omar, it was an injury during the last game, just before the last game, so it's just about stiffness," he said.

Argentine Guillermo Balzi and South Korean Lee Ho-jae scored on their 2. Bundesliga debut as SV Darmstadt and Holstein Kiel shared spoils at Bollenfalltor. The hosts scored twice in the last 15 minutes after their poor start to the game.
Former Newell's Old Boys midfielder Balzi opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes with a brilliant finish after Phil Harres' fortuitous ****** ist. There was no fortune involved when Harres doubled their advantage just before the break, though.
The striker who had a brilliant pre-season scored with a free header after Adrian Kapralik's pinpoint delivery. Darmstadt looked defeated until the introduction of their summer signing Lee at the hour mark.
The tall striker first received a huge cheer from the home fans when he helped his injured teammate Yosuke Furukawa get off the pitch by holding him all by himself. Five minutes after that incident, the former K League 1 targetman scored with a brilliant finish.
Darmstadt sealed the point five minutes before time as Aleksandar Vukotic produced a bullet header from Lance Duijvestijn's corner-kick delivery. Kiel's coach Tim Walter was visibly irritated after the final whistle by the manner in which his team dropped two points.

Another good test to round up our US tour and finally one where we are on the right side of the result.
We controlled the game well and looked sharper both in and out of possession, with some nice passing moves creating chances and ******* e. Promising signs all over.
Brobbey was terrific — of course, up against lesser opposition, but you can't take that away from him.
A competitive match with the back four doing well.
Wrexham had a goal disallowed after we went ahead and it was an outstanding flick from Brobbey for Mukiele to score. He took his goal really well, no complaints there.

Interestingly, despite being our most targeted area to strengthen in the summer market, the right side of the pitch again yielded the most rewards as we built our attacks. Le Bris once again played Trai Hume in a pseudo-wing role on the right, as waves of attacks developed between Hume himself, Habib Diarra, Brian Brobbey and the ever-excellent Nordi Mukiele.
It was Nordi, of course, who claimed the only goal of the match, slamming a low shot past the (quite poor) Wrexham goalkeeper on 34 minutes. It finished off a wonderful move involving three of the four aforementioned players, as Hume neatly found Brobbey inside the box, who in turn played Mukiele through on goal with a sublime first touch.
It was a good demonstration of how we like to build attacks through fluid positioning and overlaps, even without the out-and-out right winger we so desperately want to recruit. It was also a timely reminder of Nordi's exceptional quality at right-back, perhaps further cementing that as his primary position for the upcoming season.
Contributing to that excellent play on the right were the individual performances of Habib Diarra and Brian Brobbey. I thought both gave fantastic accounts of themselves and demonstrated just how influential they can be, albeit in very different ways.
Brobbey's hold-up play and tenacity to bully defenders were on full display as he essentially tortured Dominic Hyam for the duration of his appearance, earning the defender a yellow card and somehow having a blatant foul – and potential penalty – waved away. The **** ist for Nordi was a lovely bonus to cap off an excellent performance.

Dakota Ditcheva wants it. John Martin now wants it. Liz Carmouche has said she wants it.
It sounds like the stars are aligning for a high-profile PFL women's flyweight ***** le fight – it's just a matter of when.
"I've talked to her," Martin told reporters Friday after PFL New York at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. (h/t Home of Fight). "She wants to stay busy. She's been out of the cage for a year. I think in the first round tonight, we saw her kind of feel Denise (Kielholtz), and there was a little bit of cage rust, maybe. But she got over that really quickly. So yeah, she's going to be back pretty soon, and I think Liz is the fight we make."
Martin hopes it's a fight PFL can get on the books by the end of the year, prior to their official branding merger with MVP. That timeline seems to align with Ditcheva (16-0), who voiced desire for a quick return and frequent activity after a year out of action, partially due to a hand injury.
"I think so," Ditcheva said, if a crack at the champion should be on deck. "That makes sense, yeah. I think it makes more sense before she shouted out the 135-pound division. But anyway, we'll see what happens. She changes her mind every second."

Fresh off the news of the merger with Most Valuable Promotions, Professional Fighters League continued its "Summer Series" runof events with a surge of momentum.
Two of the company's top superstars made their return aslightweight champion UsmanNurmagomedov put his ***** le on the line against undefeatedchallenger ArchieColgan, and DakotaDitcheva denied DeniseKielholtz following a year on the shelf.
Following a brutal and decisive first-round finish over Colgan, there are immediate questions on the future of Nurmagomedov and hisplace in the company, as he just fought out the last fight of hiscontract. Nurmagomedov made it a point to see how the PFL/MVPmerger would lead to a contract offer in terms of pay, and if theykeep him, there's a clear top contender in Shabliy. DefeatingAlfieDavis by unanimous decision last month, Shabliy discussed hisdesire for a ***** le fight and he could get a chance at revenge froma 2024 loss to Nurmagomedov.
Taking on Kielholtz in her first action in over a year, Ditchevadid not have her most outstanding performance, and it was clear shewas shaking off some rust. Ditcheva would control the pace anddistance, grabbing momentum early and never letting it go. Aftergetting the rust off, it's time for the most anticipated women'smatchup in the PFL to take place against last year's tournamentchampion in Carmouche. Getting a recent win over VivianeAraujo, these two women are on a collision course and thereshould be no more time wasted.
Magomedov's performance proved there is another Russian star on thepromotion's roster. Part of the Nurmagomedov team, Magomedov waselectric in his manhandling of AngelAlvarez, chopping down his legs with brutal kicks andeventually getting the TKO finish in the second round. He shouldnow face off against the 2025 PFL Lightweight tournament champion.Davis just suffered a loss to Shabliy back in June, but could getright back into the top of the division if he can stop the momentumof Magomedov. Davis has said that he felt he fought his best in hisloss against Nurmagomedov, who knows Magomedov well, and he couldserve as a great test to see just how quickly he can get himselfback to ***** le contention.
Dayron arguably went through the toughest test of his career and itwas also his closest fight, as he pulled off a razor-thin decisionover RaufeonStots. His opponent was thoroughly shocked at the decision, butit saw Dayron keep his undefeated record intact. Even with the win,Dayron would benefit from another veteran test, and he'd get justthat in Pettis. Recently, Pettis was scheduled to square offagainst LewisMcGrillen-Evans but had to withdraw due to injury, if Pettiscan get healthy sooner than later, he would serve as another greattest for Dayron.

Professional Fighters League's return to UBS Arena in LongIsland, New York, was punctuated by a majestic performance in themain event.
The PFL New York headliner saw current 155-pound ***** leholderUsmanNurmagomedov (22-0, 1 NC; 4-0 PFL) defend his championshipagainst ArchieColgan (13-1, 2-1 PFL). When Dakota Ditcheva makes her PFL return against Denise Kielholtz in New York City on Friday night, she will do so with a very different mindset.
It has been a year like no other for Ditcheva, who has been sidelined by injury since breaking her left hand against Sumiko Inaba in July 2025.
The British-Bulgarian, unbeaten in her 15-fight professional career, was scheduled to return against Keilholtz in February, but the fight was postponed after she suffered another significant injury, this time to her right hand.
For Ditcheva, who won the PFL flyweight tournament and $1m (£740,000) in 2024, her time away has underlined the importance of building a successful career outside the cage.
"It has been tough, and I have been really lucky that I am building things outside of the sport where I have other things I can do and keep busy," Ditcheva told BBC Sport.

The Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga clubs distributed more tickets during the 2025/26 campaign than in any previous season, according to the latest spectator report released by the DFL. The 36 professional clubs registered a combined total of 21,404,258 tickets, including complimentary and honorary admissions. This amounted to an average of 34,974 tickets per fixture, representing a new record across Germany's top two divisions.
The Bundesliga alone recorded 12,718,097 distributed tickets, an increase of 9.1 percent compared with the previous campaign. The average top-flight attendance rose from 38,082 to 41,562. The return of Hamburg and 1. FC Köln contributed significantly to the increase. Both promoted clubs possess large stadiums and substantial supporter bases, while relegated sides VfL Bochum and Holstein Kiel operated with considerably smaller capacities.
Another rise can be anticipated during the forthcoming campaign following Schalke 04's promotion back to the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund once again recorded the league's highest average attendance, welcoming almost 80,000 spectators per home match in their 81,365-seat venue. Bayern Munich followed with approximately 75,000 in their 75,024-seat Arena while promoted Hamburg averaged around 56,900 in the 57,000-seat Volksparkstadion.
The Bundesliga's reported stadium occupancy rate also increased slightly from 95.9 to 96.1 percent.

PFL commentator Dan Hardy thinks the historic betting line between Dakota Ditcheva and Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York is a disservice to both athletes.
Undefeated women's flyweight standout Ditcheva (15-0) will walk into Friday's co-main event matchup with Kielholtz (9-5) at UBS Arena on Long Island (ESPN) as a historic betting favorite. She can be found as high as -10,000 on various markets, which marks one of the widest lines ever in an MMA fight.
Although Ditcheva, 28, is a rightful favorite in the mind of nearly everyone, Hardy said the mass unpredictability of MMA could level the playing field in a way the odds don't reflect. He sees Kielholtz, 37, as having a sneaky game, and the fact Ditcheva is coming off a pair of significant injuries creates some intrigue.
"First of all, it's an MMA fight. I was talking to Matt Serra last night and he's one of the people that upset the odds (against Georges St-Pierre) back in the day before they had as much traction and attention," Hardy told MMA Junkie. "I feel for Denise because she's been put in that situation by a lot of people. Then when you see them face off, Dakota's huge for the weight. But Denise, at close range, she's got excellent judo, inside and outside leaps, side control, scarf hold position, taking the back. She could be a real test for Dakota because she's very, very good in the clinch at close range.
"I'm sure she's 100 percent feeling great, but there's always that little bit of hesitation when you're coming back from an injury, like, 'How is this going to work out?' Does it change Dakota's game in some ways? Does she want to kick more or clinch more? I'm excited to see what Dakota looks like."

"It's time to say goodbye. After almost 20 years as a pro, my active career ends today. I leave the pitch with pride, humility, and endless gratitude. But one thing is certain: I will never turn my back on soccer. This game will always be a part of me, and I'm looking forward to what's next." Holtby wrote on Instagram.

International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE:IBM) lost 25.2% on July 14, erasing about $68 billion in market value in the stock's worst session on record. At first glance, the sell-off appears contradictory amid the still-robust AI investment cycle. Gartner expects worldwide AI spending to jump 47% to $2.59 trillion in 2026, with $1.43 trillion going to infrastructure. So IBM didn't crash because of any weakening in AI spending, but because that spending shifted toward hardware just as the company missed mainframe targets and couldn't close major deals.
IBM revealed the damage eight days before its scheduled earnings report. Preliminary second-quarter revenue rose just 1% to $17.2 billion, about $660 million below the LSEG consensus, while adjusted earnings of $2.93 per share missed the $3.02 estimate. Software growth slowed to 5%, Consulting was flat, and Infrastructure fell 7%. However, the numbers alone did not look bad enough to wipe out a quarter of IBM's value; it was the unscheduled warning and CEO Arvind Krishna's blunt admission that the company had "faltered".

In his July 14 investor letter, Krishna said clients spent the final weeks of June rushing to secure supply-constrained servers, storage and memory before expected price increases. Cybersecurity concerns also competed for budgets and attention. IBM did capture some of that spending: Distributed Infrastructure revenue jumped 37%. But that strength was overwhelmed by weakness elsewhere. Several large deals slipped beyond the quarter, while IBM Z and its related Transaction Processing software missed expectations. To sum it up, the AI boom didn't really miss IBM; it's just that the money hit the wrong side of its portfolio at the wrong time.
That timing hit a stock priced for reinvention. Reuters Breakingviews noted that IBM has spent more than $50 billion since 2018 on buying Red Hat, HashiCorp, and Confluent. Before IBM released the preliminary figures, its shares traded at roughly 26 times forward earnings after more than doubling in five years. Its generative AI book had reached $12.5 billion, while first-quarter software revenue grew 11%. The second quarter's 5% growth therefore challenged the premise supporting IBM's rerating. Oppenheimer, which had modeled 12% software growth, responded by downgrading the stock and abandoning its $350 target.

Love it, and not just because he was a FIFA star for me six years ago.
More offensively skilled than Trai Hume without being a defensive liability, he provides depth and tactical flexibility to Régis Le Bris at a good price.
For me, though, the most important cascading affect is this potentially moves Nordi Mukiele centrally more consistently. He was certainly our best right back last year but the last couple of games reinforced to me that he is definitely our best centre back.
With one player, Sunderland has strengthened two positions and I’d love for Florent Ghisolfi to do something similar on the left. Sign a young, starting left back with Reinildo the ‘depth option’ at left back and left centre back.
Meunier has reached the pinnacles of European football throughout his career, playing ninety one European games and featuring for some of Europe’s biggest teams in PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

Nebraska football made another significant addition to its 2027 recruiting class earlier this week. The Huskers secured the commitment of Pennsylvania wide receiver Khalil Taylor on Monday night.
Taylor is a consensus four-star prospect out of Pittsburgh. Matt Rhule and company beat out Penn State in the Nittany Lions' own backyard.
The wide receiver enters his senior high school season after a successful junior campaign. In 12 games, Taylor had 33 receptions for 571 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Taylor also contributed on the other side of the ball as a defensive back, recording 22 tackles and three interceptions. The commit told Husker247 and writer Brian Dohn that wide receiver coach Daikiel Shorts played a significant role in his decision.
"Just talking with coach Shorts, spending time with him, me and him relate real well. He's a younger coach. I feel like we bond together and we can work. He had Matthew Golden and Tank Dell. He got them to the next level. Seeing what he did with them, I believe in him 100%."

Arsenal have strengthened their frontline with the permanent signing of German striker Selina Cerci from TSG Hoffenheim, bringing one of Europe’s most prolific goal-scorers to North London ahead of the new campaign.
The 26-year-old arrives after an exceptional two-year spell with Hoffenheim, where she scored 34 goals in 47 appearances and established herself as one of the league’s most clinical forwards.
Across the past two league seasons, Cerci managed to find the net 32 times and contributed nine **** ists. She finished as the Bundesliga’s joint top scorer in 2024/25 before leading the league again in overall goal contributions.
“I’m incredibly happy to be here,” Cerci said after completing the move. “Joining **** nal is a huge honour, and I’m excited for the challenge ahead. This is a chance to play alongside world-class teammates and compete in one of the strongest leagues in women’s football. I can’t wait to get started and experience playing at Emirates Stadium in front of the supporters.”
Born in Kiel, Germany, Cerci’s football journey began at local club SV Friedrichsort before progressing through the youth ranks at Holstein Kiel and Magdeburger FFC. Her prolific scoring record earned her a move to Bayern Munich in 2017. There, she immediately impressed with the club’s second team by scoring 15 goals in 22 league matches.
