GRAND RAPIDS - Jenny Boynton was at her parents' house in Holland last month when she got some big news.
Her husband, Mike Boynton Jr., was just named head coach of the University of Michigan basketball team.
"I love it," she said. "We joked when this became a possibility … I started wearing blue around the house to hint that this is where we needed to be.'"
Boynton - whose maiden name is Jenny Hill - graduated from West Ottawa High School in 2000. She played volleyball and basketball for the Panthers. She would go on to play volleyball at Virginia Tech.

A coat owned by French actress, model and animal rights activist Brigitte Bardot is to be auctioned to raise money for a dog rescue charity.

90 Day Fiancé couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh are pushing back on claims that her amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis has worsened to the point where she has become dependent on her husband.
Slatten, 68, and Singh, 38, recently addressed the rumors in a video shared to Instagram on Monday, July 27.
"She is still able to do walking, talking, and everything, and she is not depending completely on anyone or even not on me," Singh began. "What you're seeing on some pages – people are posting that she is on a hospital bed and unable to do anything, which is a lie."
Slatten, who was sitting beside her husband in the clip, shook her head in agreement.
He added that she didn't "like" the rumors about her mobility, adding that they were "still hoping and praying that there will be a solution, that there will be a treatment" for Slatten's diagnosis.

Jenny Shin fell in love with links golf the first time she played the Women's British Open at Carnoustie 15 years ago.
"I couldn't believe what I was seeing, what I was playing," she said. "One day it was blowing 40 miles. The next day, it's just calm. I had forgotten to play when it was calm.
"So I kind of fell in love, like this is a true test of golf. You have to be so creative, and I'm quite creative around the greens and I love hitting different shots."
Shin's love is certainly shining through at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, where she leads by five at the halfway mark. Rounds of 66-67 put her at 11 under for the tournament, taking a total of 50 putts in the first two rounds. She'll play in the final group on Saturday alongside Olympic silver medalist Esther Henseleit. Major champion A Lim Kim is six shots back at 5 under.
Shin said she's never skipped the Scottish Open, calling it her favorite stop on tour.

TROON, Scotland — South Korea's Jenny Shin led the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open by five strokes after two rounds at Dundonald Links on Friday.
Shin started the second round with a bogey and shrugged it off with six birdies, including on her final hole, for a 5-under 67. She's at 11 under overall.
"Tried really hard not to make any three-putts," Shin said.
Shin was co-leader with American Lauren Coughlin on 6 under after day one of the tournament co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. But Coughlin, who won the Aramco Championship in April and the Scottish Open in 2024, hit 2 over on Friday and dropped to 4 under and a tie for fourth with ****** an's Erika Hara.
The closest to Shin was German golfer Esther Henseleit, who carded 4-under 68 with two birdies and an eagle.

The former Wales Under-17s and 19s international is the fourth new arrival of the summer after deals for Lucy Farrell, Mikayla Cook and Natasha Thomas.

Kylian Mbappé is not used to falling short of an appearance in a men's World Cup Final. In each of his first two World Cups with France, Mbappé played in the final on both occasions, with a win in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2022. But after a dominant Spain team tore France up in a 2-0 victory in the World Cup semifinals on Tuesday, Mbappé's French side will have to settle for a third-place finish, at best, for the first time. (He probably doesn't enjoy seeing Lamine Yamal play on the other team, at this point.)
This French failure will not be well received back home, as France is one of the few teams in the tournament with World Cup-or-bust expectations. In a credit to Mbappé, he decided to wear this failure as the French captain fully.
In a post-match interview with Fox's Jenny Taft, a classy Mbappé said that France losing to Spain while falling short of a World Cup ****** le is ultimately his responsibility. That's not true, as soccer is a team game. France, as a team, simply wasn't good enough. It speaks volumes that Mbappé said it out loud anyway.

CPA Australia has advised individuals not to rush their 2026 tax returns, warning that hasty submissions can increase the likelihood of errors and exposure to scams.
CPA Australia Tax lead Jenny Wong acknowledged the strong desire among many Australians to file early but stressed that speed should not come at the expense of accuracy.
Wong said: "Getting your tax return done early can be tempting, but it is important not to rush.
"Waiting until all your income information has been finalised and pre-filled by the ATO [Australian Taxation Office] will help ensure accuracy and reduce the risk of errors that can trigger reviews or delays."
She referenced recent ATO figures indicating a shift in taxpayer behaviour, with fewer people lodging returns in the opening weeks of the tax season.

The United States men's national team is out of its own World Cup, and the manner of the exit — a 4-1 blowout to a Belgium side that started Jérémy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne on the bench — has reopened the same question that follows every American World Cup cycle. Is any of this going to stick?
Charles De Ketelaere scored twice in the first half in Seattle on Monday and set up a third. Romelu Lukaku added a fourth late. It was the USMNT's fourth Round of 16 exit in the last five World Cups it has actually qualified for, and it happened on home soil, with the suspended red card of striker Folarin Balogun barely making it back in time to matter.

Christian Pulisic became the face of that frustration by Monday night. South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley just let the world know that she’s a big fan of BYU’s Diljeet Taylor.
Staley appeared on Citius Mag’s Prefontaine Classic show on Saturday and shared her admiration for BYU’s women’s cross-country head coach and ***** ociate director of track and field.
“I’ve seen the way Diljeet coaches her players,” Staley said. “She’s a mentor. She’s mom-like. She is someone that gives the athlete all of her, like she meets the athlete where they are on any given day.”

The soccer savior, once dubbed Captain America, isn’t getting off easy after again failing to perform on the biggest stage for his national team.
Christian Pulisic was subbed off in the 58th minute of the United States’ round-of-16 match against Belgium on Monday night after failing to recover from an apparent foot injury suffered a few minutes earlier, when Pulisic kicked the leg of a Belgium defender while winding up for a shot. It was a fitting end to Pulisic’s World Cup. The U.S. star played just 45 minutes during the group stage, subbing out at halftime against Paraguay with a calf strain, returned for a full 90 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32, and left the field less than an hour into arguably the most important game in USMNT history.
Things weren’t going well for Pulisic throughout his 58 minutes on the pitch. His first five touches of the game all led to turnovers, and he lost possession a game-leading 11 times in the first half. The U.S. was down 3-1 by the time he subbed off, and the writing was already on the wall that this team would once again exit the World Cup in the final 16.
After the game, Pulisic made matters worse for himself.
Speaking with Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft, Pulisic explained his injury: “I mean, I just twisted my ankle, sprained my ankle. It’s just frustrating to end like that, of course. But, you know, now I get time to rest, so hopefully it’ll be okay.”

A bombshell rape allegation has thrown Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner's campaign into turmoil, with some of his most progressive supporters in Congress jumping ship as his bid for the Senate unravels.

However, Joel Klatt has two he's excited to see this year, and both happen to be games he'll be calling.
While it's no surprise that he has The Game atop his list, as it's arguably the greatest rivalry in all of sports, Klatt starts out with his top 10 list of the '10 games that will shape the 2026 season' with the Wolverines' game in Week 2 against Oklahoma at The Big House.

Jenny Mollen has revealed she went through a "harrowing" experience while taking a GLP-1 weight loss drug.
The episode left her then-husband Jason Biggs "screaming like it's a horror movie", she shared on the latest episode of the Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa podcast.
"I was microdosing the GLPs. I was also taking other peptides," Mollen recalled of the June 2025 incident. But I think that something happens with your period. Maybe it's just the perimenopausal situation.
"Suddenly I was, like, hemorrhaging. It was blood clots the size of dinosaur eggs. It was so scary," she continued, adding that she "felt like I was laying an egg" when she went to the bathroom. "So I run to the bathroom and I am literally sitting on the toilet and I hear this plop and just blood everywhere."
When Biggs came to help, he joined in on the panic moment and started screaming too.
Mollen didn't immediately go to the hospital but, by that night, her condition had worsened and she knew she was losing too much blood.

Olympic bronze medalist and world champion 1,500-meter runner Jenny Simpson collapsed after suffering a medical episode while pacing a mile group at an event in Raleigh on Tuesday night.
Simpson was briefly without a pulse before bystanders and emergency responders intervened. Emergency medical services arrived quickly, restored her pulse and rushed her to a hospital.
The 39-year-old Simpson was taking part in a community track event hosted by Sir Walter Running, with runners of all levels encouraged to attend. The event featured a chance to meet Simpson.
Simpson, a three-time Olympian and bronze medalist who is widely considered the most accomplished U.S. women's 1,500-meter runner, had been making appearances at running events in the Triangle after becoming chief running officer for Fleet Feet, a Carrboro-based company.
"We are incredibly grateful to the individuals who responded immediately, as well as EMS and the medical professionals who handled the situation with such care, urgency, and professionalism," the "Sir Walter Running Team" wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan is running for reelection in Alaska and faces a field of 15 competitors. One of them is Dan Sullivan.
The senator told reporters in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday that he thinks the appearance on the state's primary ballot of another Republican with the same name is a dirty political trick coordinated by Democrats and the campaign of his chief rival for the seat, former Democratic U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola. He threatened a lawsuit to get to the bottom of it.
“Everybody in Alaska knows I’m Dan Sullivan-R. So he’s trying to do that. Why?" the senator said of the other Dan Sullivan. “He’s not an R. He’s purposely trying to trick my constituents to rig the election for Peltola.”
A spokesman for the Peltola campaign, Harry Child, said it “has no involvement with either Sullivan campaign." Jenny-Marie Stryker, executive director of the Alaska Democratic Party, said her organization “is in no way affiliated with either Dan Sullivan.”
The kerfuffle over the dueling Dan Sullivans on Alaska's August primary ballot has drawn the attention of state and national Republicans. They claim that adding a second Dan Sullivan to the ballot will sow confusion among voters who support the incumbent and help Peltola.
