DaSaahn Brame immediately became one of Tennessee's most important players when tight end Ethan Davis suffered a season-ending ACL injury.
Brame, a sophomore tight end, should make the biggest jump in the depth chart to replace Davis. But others could factor in as the Vols try to retool their offensive plan after losing a valuable player.
Davis suffered the knee injury in the Vols' 45-24 win over Georgia Tech on Sept. 12. Coach Josh Heupel announced on Sept. 14 that he will miss the remainder of the season.
Davis is the fifth UT player to suffer a season-ending injury, joining starting safety Edrees Farooq (knee), backup receiver Joakim Dodson (leg), reserve linebacker Jaedon Harmon (knee) and Miami transfer cornerback Jadais Richard (upper-body).
It's a costly loss. Davis, a senior starter, caught a TD pass in each of UT's first two games. And he's been an effective blocker in the Vols' rushing offense, which ranks sixth nationally.

Florida football notched its second blowout victory of the season on Saturday evening, throttling the Campbell Fighting Camels, 52-3, inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
While the visitors struck first blood in this one, the FCS school never really had a chance against the Gators. Jon Sumrall's squad went on to score 52 unanswered points en route to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2021.
Aaron Philo finished by mirroring his efforts from last week with a 16-for-21 performance through the air — good for 242 yards and a pair of touchdowns — while Jadan Baugh rushed 14 times for 134 yards and a pair of scores. Vernell Brown III was spectacular, logging 219 yards and a pair of scores on four returns, and added three catches for 43 yards and a TD as well.
On defense, Florida held Campbell to 210 total yards and forced a turnover on a goal-line stand late in the fourth quarter. Holding the Fighting Camels to just 62 yards (2.5 yards per carry) is also something worth hanging their hat on.

Jadan Baugh is already high on many people's radar as he enters the coming year after a season that saw him accumulate 1,170 yards. And he looked like he didn't miss a beat in Florida's win over Florida Atlantic in Week 1 – he managed 160 yards and three touchdowns on just 14 carries, good for an 11.4-yard-per-carry average. He also earned a whopping 130 of those yards after contact and forced nine missed tackles.

As the 2026-27 Iowa women's basketball season approaches, the Hawkeyes will host 2027 four-star combo guard commit Jada Seubert and 2027 four-star center recruit Khalia Hartwell on official visits this upcoming Cy-Hawk weekend on Sept. 11-12.
Hartwell, a 6-foot-5 prospect, is the nation's No. 16 overall player, the No. 2 center and the top player in South Carolina, per 247Sports. Rivals rates Hartwell as the country's No. 26 player, as the No. 3 center and as the top player in South Carolina.

With Iowa sandwiched between official visits to Georgia (Sept. 4) and Virginia Tech (Sept. 18), the Hawkeyes hope that their recruitment pitch and potentially the influence of Seubert can help advance the program to the top of Hartwell's mind.

Sept 7 - The US National Transportation Safety Board will hold a media briefing at 4 p.m. EDT (2000 GMT) on Monday to share ‌its latest updates about Sunday's deadly Amazon Prime Air cargo plane crash ‌at Miami International Airport, the agency said in a post on X.
Prime Air Flight 7598 overran the airport's diagonal runway shortly before 2 p.m. EDT and struck multiple vehicles on the ground, killing 5 people and injuring 5 more, including 3 who are in critical condition, officials said during a news conference on Sunday afternoon.
At least two people were trapped in vehicles ‌that were struck by the ⁠plane, and the pilot and co-pilot were trapped inside the plane by the crash, said Miami-Dade Fire Chief Ray Jadallah.
More than 60 ⁠rescue units and about 200 personnel responded to the incident, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said in a statement. As of late Sunday afternoon, emergency personnel were still dealing with a fuel leak from the aircraft, according to Jadallah.
The NTSB said in a post on X ‌on Sunday afternoon that it had "launched a go team" to investigate the accident.

Florida running back Jadan Baugh opened the season with 160 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, pushing him past the 2,000-yard mark for his career.
Baugh is the 20th player in program history to reach 2,000 yards on the ground, and he now sits at 2,003 through 26 career games. The junior is already climbing a crowded part of Florida's record book, with James Jones (2,068), Mike Gillislee (2,072) and Deshawn Wynn (2,077) all within 75 yards.
The opener against FAU also marked Baugh's sixth career 100-yard rushing game and moved him to 18 career rushing touchdowns, good for No. 16 in program history. That gives this season a second record-book race to track alongside his yardage total.
Baugh is coming off a 1,170-yard sophomore season that already placed him among the most productive backs in Florida history. He became just the third underclassman in program history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, joining Emmitt Smith and Errict Rhett. Another big year could push Baugh well into the top 10 — and potentially much higher — on Florida's career rushing list.

"Our defense was atrocious at times, quite honestly," Sumrall said afterward. "So we had a hard time keeping pace with them. It was that way, in my opinion. Like, I watch that play, I'm a little bit frustrated about how we played defensively at times. I don't think we're as good as we think we are. I think we got some guys who feel like, you know, we've arrived in some spots and that will be addressed. We have got a lot of room to grow on defense. If it doesn't happen real fast we're going to get embarrassed and exposed handily in some spots, because that wasn't a great performance by us."
Aaron Philo completed 16 of 21 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns with an interception in his first start since transferring from Georgia Tech, and added a rushing score. Jadan Baugh carried 14 times for 160 yards and three touchdowns and was out of the game early in the third quarter with Florida up 45-14. The Gators scored on their first six possessions, went six of six in the red zone and piled up 624 yards. The 66 points were their most in a season opener since 1994.
The team that heard the "arrived" line went 4-8 last season, watched Billy Napier get fired in Oct and has three preseason All-SEC selections on the roster. Sumrall came from Tulane on a defensive resume, having played linebacker at Kentucky and coached the position there and at Ole Miss, so the side of the ball he singled out is the side he is measured on.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jadan Baugh ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns, juking defenders nearly every time he touched the ball, and Florida opened the Jon Sumrall era with a 66-21 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday night.
Aaron Philo added 275 yards passing and four total scores as the Gators won their seventh consecutive home debut for a new coach. This one was the highest-scoring season opener for Florida since 1994.
Sumrall entered the sold-out Swamp amid fire, smoke and strobe lights. He delivered a fiery pregame speech on the field and then really showed what he's about with a dominant win that was never in doubt. He even had his team throwing — and scoring — in the final minute, reminding some of Hall of Famer Steve Spurrier.
Florida scored on its first six possessions. Philo connected with Vernell Brown III for a 49-yard score and then found former Georgia Tech teammate and current roommate Bailey Stockton for a 12-yarder.
Philo scrambled for a score on fourth down to make it 24-7. Brown finished with 117 yards on six receptions.

Jada Star, the niece of late country legend Dolly Parton, reflected on her aunt's cancer battle, sharing why the singer chose to keep her health struggles private.
"You know, we kind of kept all that stuff real private," Star noted in a Tuesday interview with Extra. "And so, she never wanted to worry anybody."
Yet, given Parton worked up until her death at the age of 80 on Aug. 25, Star admitted she was still shocked when her aunt was admitted into the hospital.
"It's been really difficult and very surreal," Star said of how she's doing in the wake of Parton's death. "I think we all share that feeling. It's also been really bittersweet because of this beautiful opportunity we've had to see how much the whole world loves her."

My eleven-year-old is still trying to learn the Dougie. Over a decade since it entered the cultural bloodstream, and it is still moving through generations like a living thing. I grew up on the Running Man, the Kid-n-Play kick step, the Wop. These were not just moves. They were rituals, practiced on living-room floors, performed at local parties. And yet, in most cases, I had no idea who originated them. I knew the artists who introduced them to the zeitgeist. Still, the actual creators, the people whose bodies birthed the movement, had essentially vanished from the record. That gap, between cultural impact and cultural credit, is precisely what Connor Lim is trying to close. So, we brought him onto the latest episode of the FROM THE CULTURE podcast to better understand how.
Lim is the co-founder and CEO of the International Dance League, the world's first global professional dance league. Six city-based teams, a regular season, a championship, and, as of this past summer, a global media rights deal with ESPN. IDL grew out of STEEZY, an online dance education platform he built after a childhood in Queens, completely consumed by the craft. For most people, dance is considered an art form, but Lim sees it as that and much more: a sport. Consider the battle traditions of breaking, krumping, and voguing, and Lim's perspective no longer feels like much of a stretch. In fact, breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games as an official event, a testament to dance's competitive nature. It's this thesis that fuels Lim's ambition for the IDL to make dance as big of a sport as basketball, football, or baseball. However, unlike athletes, dancers have never sat inside a structure that captures the value they generate.

This is a double-edged sword because, even as an art, dance misses out on this value capture. Music has royalties, touring, and publishing rights. These are all mechanisms by which value accrues back to the creator, so an ecosystem forms, and the people who make it are remembered and rewarded. Just because an NFL player is injured and will be on the shelf -- for a little (or longer) while -- doesn't mean you should completely avoid him in fantasy football.
This is especially true if you have some IR spots that can be filled with a player who is on the actual injured reserve list. Sometimes, the best strategy with a talented player like that is to wait until the later rounds when that player is overlooked and to ***** them with a late pick.
In this case, we're ranking the names who could be noteworthy IR stashes in your draft. Let's run through some of them and rank them based on priority:
Obviously, rookie Jadarian Price is going to handle a lot of work from the get-go, and we may see more George Holani than we think. But Charbonnet is coming back from a torn ACL in the playoffs, and when he does return, it's possible he'll get more work than you think he might. I'd take him late and stash him in the hopes that he's a factor by the middle of the season.
Jeremiyah Love is injured and a rookie. Tyler Allgeier will have a role. And Conner? The veteran with a foot injury will miss at least the first four games. Given some of the uncertainty here, I'd recommend a stash in the hopes that he's a factor in the offense sometime in October or November.

The Seattle Seahawks concluded their final rounds of roster cuts following their 9-9 preseason finale tie against the Kansas City Chiefs. They have also officially set their 53-man roster as they gear up to take on the New England Patriots to kick off the 2026 NFL season in Week 1. However, on their roster you will only see three running backs: Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson.
Unfortunately, the reason for this is because the Seahawks have placed their otherwise presumed starting running back Zach Charbonnet on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. This is unsurprising, considering Charbonnet suffered his ACL injury during the 41-6 blowout victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Given how late in the season this occurred, the beginning of the season was always going to be off the table for Charbonnet. Still, it's a cold splash of reality to see it actually come to fruition.
Charbonnet was one of the more critical, yet perhaps a little underrated, cogs in the Seahawks' offensive machine last season. The former UCLA product had 730 rushes and 12 rushing touchdowns. In fact, Charbonnet became the first Seattle running back to have double-digit rushing touchdowns since Marshawn Lynch had 13 during the 2014 campaign.
Of course, arguably the most important play of the season was Charbonnet's heads up decision to pick up the ball during Seattle's comeback win over the Los Angeles Rams. This was later ruled to be a successful two-point conversion which tied the game, and the Seahawks would eventually go on to win in overtime.
Charbonnet will miss games against the Patriots, Cardinals, Commanders and Chargers. The earliest he could be allowed to return will be the Week 5 home game against the San Francisco 49ers, but even that feels unlikely. Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor his health status moving forward.

The Seattle Seahawks opted to keep just the three running backs during their cut down to their initial 53-man roster on Sunday. Jadarian Price, George Holani, and Emanuel Wilson will be the trio for the early portion of the season, all while Zach Charbonnet recovers from his ACL surgery.
As expected, the Seahawks kept Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start the regular season. He will have to miss a minimum of four games before he's eligible to return, so the earliest he could make his debut is Week 5 versus the San Francisco 49ers. It's worth noting, however, that Week 5 and 6 is a Sunday-Thursday short week, so if they want to be safe then his debut could be Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
One thing to note regarding Charbonnet's PUP status is an NFL rule change enacted this season. Charbonnet, whose offseason recovery has seemingly gone smoothly, can have his 21-day practice window activated after the second regular season game is completed. Previously, a practice window couldn't be opened until after the four games were up, so if Charbonnet could be ready to return to practice as early as Week 3.
There's no rush to have Charbonnet available for that 49ers game, but it'd be a full circle moment if his first game back is against the same opponent he scored the only touchdown against in the de facto NFC West ***** le showdown, as well as the same foe in which his season cruelly ended.

Congratulations to Nick King. The former Palm Springs high athletic standout and now first-year head coach at Shadow Hills picked up the first victory of his coaching career Friday. The Knights' defense solved the Wing-T offense of Palo Verde Valley and the offense got on track as Shadow Hills pulled away for a 26-6 victory. Damian Walls had a pair of rushing touchdowns in the win. King and Company will have a short week and a tough task in Week 3 as they play at Yucaipa on Thursday. But tonight, Coach King can go ahead and exhale and celebrate the fact that he's a winning high school head coach.
Last week, the Rancho Mirage defense bent, but rarely broke, as they turned away and shut down a solid Yucca Valley offense. The Rattlers flummoxed their second straight DVL team and have found a nice mix of offense and defense early this season. Bentley Arredondo, Jadarius Hester, Reid Keane and Jayden Ayers all scored. That's 2-0 for the Rattlers and that's a good feeling.
The Blackhawks took their usual opening week bye week and there was absolutely no rust to be found as La Quinta ran around, over and through Yucca Valley for a 58-28 victory. The only thing that slowed them down was a wet bulb delay to start the game as La Quinta showed off its balanced offense. Talented tailback Colton LaCrone did his thing with 136 yards rushing and two TDs on 16 carries, while QB Mason Flores threw for 187 yards and three touchdown passes. The defense did its part getting a safety from Dominyck Gonzalez and a pick six from Alfredo Castro. Sure there was some sloppy play that gave coach Juan Ruiz something to talk about during film sessions, but he said it best "Even if there was some sloppy moments, nothing beats starting off the year with a W." One note for Yucca Valley in a mostly forgettable night, Aiden Pope did return a kickoff for a touchdown.

The Seattle Seahawks waived running back Anthony Hankerson on Monday, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson, prior to their final preseason matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
Hankerson rushed for 1,086 yards in 2025 at Oregon State prior to entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in May. He was waived by the Dolphins in August, before signing with the Seahawks during training camp.
The 22-year-old Hankerson rushed for 10 yards on five carries, and added nine receiving yards in the Seahawks' 19-16 loss to the Tennessee **** ans in Week 2 of the preseason prior to being waived by Seattle.
The Seahawks move forward with a running back unit consisting of Jadarian Price, Zach Charbonnet, George Holani, Emanuel Wilson, Velus Jones Jr., and Jacardia Wright. Hankerson will be able to sign with another team as a free agent if he is not claimed off of waivers.

During The Breakfast Club on Monday (Aug. 17), DJ Envy had Charlamagne Tha God cracking up after he revealed what his son, Logan, said to Jalen Brunson's father, Rick, at a recent birthday party for Fat Joe at Radio City Music Hall.
Envy recalled that the party had several high-profile guests—including Teyana Taylor and Jadakiss, among others—and that he also brought his children, Madison and Logan, along to the outing. At one point, Envy shared that the New York Knicks MVP was in attendance alongside his father Rick Brunson. "My son was like, 'Yo, if you need anything at this bar, you tell me…' 'Cause they was like, you know, just so excited," Envy revealed. "They went to the pops, too. They was like, 'Thank you for making him.'"
Charlamagne found the admission hilarious, saying, "Hey, yo, Logan, don't ever let me hear about going up to a basketball player talking about, 'Yo, thank you for your meat.'"Envy countered, "He didn't say, 'Thank you for your meat,'" but Charlamagne reiterated, "That's essentially what he said… I don't see why Logan would say that… Don't be like your daddy, Logan."

Brunson became an NBA Champion for the first time this year when he helped the New York Knicks win the NBA Finals, where he also picked up the award for NBA Finals MVP. Needless to say, the New Jersey-born NBA star has become an NYC hero thanks to his performance with the team this year, so as Envy pointed out, he was getting a lot of attention at the party and plenty of people were asking to get him a drink.

The Seahawks made a big change at running back this offseason and quarterback Sam Darnold likes how things are shaping up in the backfield.
Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker left for Kansas City in free agency and the Seahawks replaced him with first-round pick Jadarian Price. Price's preseason has been hampered by a leg injury, but he was back in action this week and took part in Friday's joint practice with the ****** ans.
The ability Price showed as a runner and receiver in that workout left Darnold singing his praises.
"He's a special player," Darnold said, via the team's website. "He's a really special player. He brings a different facet to the offense that only a guy like him can bring. Whether it's catching passes out of the backfield, catching screens, running in between the tackles, outside of the tackles, he can really do it all. And I know he's just going to continue to get better and learn."
Veteran Zach Charbonnet is still recovering from a torn ACL and the Seahawks don't have any other established backs on the roster, so Price figures to be playing a major role right out of the gate in Seattle. Darnold's review makes that sound like a positive situation for the defending champs.

The preseason accolades keep coming for Florida football junior running Jadan Baugh,
On August 18, the 6-foot-1, 228-pound Baugh was named to the Doak Walker Award preseason watch list, given to college football's best running back.
Baugh, entering his third year with the Florida Gators, started all 12 games for UF in 2025 and led the team with 1,170 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 21 passes for 185 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Baugh's 10 total TDs on the season also led the Gators in 2025, while his 1,170 rushing yards ranked third in the SEC, 14th in the FBS, and the sixth most in a season in UF history.
In the 2025 season finale against Florida State, Baugh ran for 266 yards, the second-most in a game in program history and most against Florida State, to surpass 1,000 yards.

There's a bit of good news and not-so-good news coming out of the Seattle Seahawks' Monday practice.
On the positive side, running backs Jadarian Price and Jacardia Wright are back in pads and practicing in team drills. The potentially bad news? Second-year wide receiver Tory Horton, who missed the back-half of last season with a crackted tibia, was not part of Monday's session at VMAC.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald didn't have much to offer in terms of injury specifics for Horton or anyone else.
"Tory's working through some things," Macdonald said at Monday's press conference. "Yeah, not a lot of updates on the injury front right now, but they had a couple guys down today."
Horton did not play in Saturday's preseason loss versus the Dallas Cowboys, although it's unknown whether that's injury related or if he's enough of a key offensive component to not be risked for a game. Dating back to his final season at Colorado State, he's had consecutive seasons end prematurely due to leg injuries.

The NFL preseason has begun and every team has played at least one game. We have some idea as to what teams will look like competitively in 2026.
NFL.com's Nick Shook has new preseason power rankings. We have to figure that the Arizona Cardinals are fairly low on the list, but let's see what the NFC West as a whole looks like, compared to the entire league.
You've heard the sound bites, read the headlines and drowned in the tidal wave of optimism. The Rams are Lombardi Trophy favorites, seemingly destined for a march to a Super Bowl that will be played in their home stadium, the same location in which they won their last ******* le. It's never that easy, of course, but GM Les Snead has built a monster in Los Angeles. With Myles Garrett trading brown and orange for royal blue and sol, Aaron Donald nearing a potential return from retirement to hop back onto the bandwagon he once captained, and Matthew Stafford coming off an MVP-winning season, this is a year the Rams go for it all. It will be up to them to make it through to the other side of a season-long gauntlet in their attempt to claim the throne.
This is no surprise. With the return of Matthew Stafford, an offense that was fantastic, and with the defensive additions of Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie, the Rams are the team to beat in 2026.
The reigning champs lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency, don't yet have his former running mate, Zach Charbonnet, available as he continues on his journey back from a torn ACL, and are placing a lot of backfield responsibility on the likes of rookie Jadarian Price and backup George Holani. Star defender Nick Emmanwori remains on the physically unable to perform list, too, although there's hope Mike Macdonald's ultimate chess piece can return in time for Week 1. Otherwise, everything is great for the Seahawks. Continuity will reign early in 2026, thanks in large part to the return of a familiar starting offensive lineup. The suffocating defense lost some pieces to free agency in the offseason, requiring reinforcement that could be tested, but there's little reason to think the 'Hawks will be anywhere but right back in the thick of the NFC race.

Karl-Anthony Towns now has two rings in the last two months. The NBA superstar helped lead the New York Knicks to their first championship in 53 years in June and married his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, on Saturday.
The ceremony was held in Malibu, California. Several A-list celebrities attended the event, which had the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop.

All the guests wore black, with Woods the only one in white. She has been supporting Towns since they started dating, often watching games live. The 7-foot center played for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2015 to 2024. The team traded him on Oct. 2, 2024 in exchange for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop and a future first-round pick.

College football's opening kickoff lies just beyond the horizon as teams across the country prepare for the 2026 edition of the gridiron grind.
Ahead of the first matchup of the fall on Sunday, Aug. 29, between UNC and TCU in Dublin, Ireland, CBS Sports writer Blake Brockermeyer put together his ranking of the top 150 players in the sport — a list that included three Florida Gators.
"My goal for the last few years has been simple: Identify the 150 best players in college football entering the 2026 season and the value they bring to their teams," he stated.
So who cracked the list for the Orange and Blue? Checking in at No. 41 is junior running back Jadan Baugh, who is one of the best backs in the SEC, if not the country. Also included at No. 78 is senior wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr., who arrived in Gainesville via the transfer portal during the offseason and adds a speedy dynamic to the receiver corps.
The third Gator to land among the top 150 players in the nation at No. 126 is junior linebacker Myles Graham, who was named to the **** Butkus Award Preseason Watch List as well as the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List this summer.
