Rash is already Beechwood's winningest head coach and will reach his 200th win with the Tigers when they earn their seventh win of the 2026 season. From 2006 to 2022, he accrued a 193-46 record and won eight state championships.
He went 4-7 at Conner last season, stepping in after David Trosper died suddenly in June 2025.
According to the KHSAA record book, Rash is the fifth Northern Kentucky coach to reach the 200 milestone, joining Bob Schneider (343 - Newport Central Catholic), Owen Hauck (258 - Highlands and Boone County), Dale Mueller (250 - Highlands) and Lynn Ray (234 - Covington Catholic).
After initially retiring following Beechwood's 2022 state championship victory, Rash spent 2023 as a special consultant to his friend Steve Specht at Cincinnati St. Xavier. He was an **** istant coach at Holmes in 2024, where he also served as the **** istant principal for two years.

September is just a few days away, meaning King Charles and his fellow royals will soon be making the journey south, leaving their Scottish bolthole, Balmoral, and returning to royal duties.
Over the summer, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, plus Zara and Mike Tindall and their kids, all made their way to the Highlands for a brief break, returning earlier this week, but King Charles, Queen Camilla and Princess Anne have remained at Balmoral.
After what has likely been a difficult week, with the King losing his 'dear cousin', King Harald of Norway, His Royal Highness was joined by his wife and his sister as they attended a service at Crathie Kirk, the church a short drive from the Balmoral estate.

ALLENDALE — Indian Hills football went to the run, went ahead and won a classic.
The Braves scored two touchdowns in a 1:39 span in the third quarter to rally past Park Ridge, 20-14, in the Aug. 28 Jim Grasso Classic at Northern Highlands' Dean A. Moore Field.
Trailing 7-0 at halftime, a nine-minute, 15-play, 65-yard drive (with 13 straight runs) got Indian Hills (1-0) on the board.
Park Ridge fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and four plays after his TD pass to Brendan Godfrey, Matt Kazmierczak scored on a 1-yard sneak to put the Braves ahead for good.
The Owls (0-1) held Indian Hills to 4-of-13 passing for 26 yards in the first half. The Braves, however, defended three passes on the final Park Ridge drive to clinch the win.

A running track that has played a role in preparing athletes for major championships since the 1980s could be closed until well into next year following a delay to laying a new surface.

All season events will be against Region 20 opponents Butler County Community College, Community College of Allegheny County and Westmoreland County Community College.
The full schedule is Sept. 11 at North Park Golf Course (Allison Park), Sept. 14 at Glengarry Golf Links (Latrobe), Sept. 18 at Lake Arthur Golf Club (Butler), Sept. 21 at North Park Golf Course, Sept. 24 at Lake Arthur Golf Club and Sept. 28 at Glengarry Golf Links.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the teams will compete in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Tournament Oct. 8-9 at Willowbrook Country Club in Apollo, where individual and team champions will be crowned.

LeBron James has added a new venture to his growing list of off-the-court interests: a YouTube channel dedicated to golf.
James, the 41-year-old who recently signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, released his first vlog-style video Aug. 15. The 96-minute video features James and several members of the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2016 championship team during a golf trip to Scotland in June.
Former Cavaliers Tristan Thompson, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson joined James at Cabot Highlands Resort's Castle Stuart Links. Matthew Dellavedova and Iman Shumpert also attended the reunion but were not featured in the video.
The group played in a 3-on-3 format while laughing and reminiscing about the Cavaliers' championship run. The 2016 team overcame a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA championship.

Just when you thought YouTube Golf couldn't get more popular, one of the most famous people in the world arrives on the scene.
LeBron James has launched a YouTube channel dedicated to golf. His first video was released Saturday morning, featuring James and his former teammates from the Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 championship team celebrating a 10-year reunion with a round of golf at Cabot Highlands Resort's Castle Stuart Links in Scotland, which is ranked No. 55 among Golfweek's Top 100 International Courses.
The 90-minute video features most of the memorable characters from that Cavs squad, including Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye and J.R. Smith, who is actually quite the stick (you might remember that he went back to college and played golf at North Carolina A&T after retiring from the NBA). Apparently Kyrie Irving couldn't make it, though.
The group plays a 3-on-3 match that gets a little heated at times, with James, Love and Jefferson teaming up against Thompson, Frye and Smith. I won't spoil who wins, but let's just say there weren't a ton of darts thrown or birdies made between the six of them. But it sure seemed like they were having a great time, and hey, that's all that really matters.

King Charles has headed to Scotland to start his summer break, and he was recently in Caithness in the Scottish Highlands. During his time there, he stayed at the Castle of Mey, as he traditionally does in late July and early August.
On this occasion, the King made a new addition to the home, planting the King's Rose in the gardens, which were previously cultivated by his late grandmother, the Queen Mother. Charles was pictured in the Walled Garden at the castle, which is located by the Pink Arbor.
In images from the King's Foundation, Charles was seen in a tweed jacket and kilt, while he carried a walking stick that he often employs when on the uneven ground of Scotland. He was seen standing by a vase that carried the King's Rose, which was bred by David Austin Roses and named in Charles' honour.
The semi-double, repeat-flowering shrub boasts delicately papery petals with distinct stripes in shades of fuchsia pink and white.

The PGA Tour has begun revealing which tournaments will become Championship Series events in 2028 when a new two-track model is implemented.
First up for the PGA Tour's top-tier Championship Series is the Travelers Championship, which has been played annually at TPC River Highlands just outside Hartford, Connecticut, each June, typically the week after the U.S. Open. Since 2023, the Travelers has been one of eight $20 million signature events on the PGA Tour. The announcement was made on Monday.
In 2028, the PGA Tour Championship Series will comprise roughly 15 regular-season events, in addition to the four major championships, Players Championship, and playoff events. Purses for the PGA Tour-operated events (the non-majors) will be at least $20 million, with some tournaments like the Players and a revamped Tour Championship offering even more prize money. The second-tier Challenger Series will comprise at least 20 events, each offering much lower purses of at least $4 million. Both series will run from approximately February to August, and will include annual promotion and relegation between the circuits.
"Right now we have 47 events at the PGA Tour—we'll have 47 events going forward," PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said when he unveiled the plans for the new scheduling model in June. "That current model serves roughly 230 players. We'll serve that amount of players, the same. We are just organized now in a more simple understanding competitively so our fans can understand it, our partners know what they're getting as far as value. So we think we've just organized the same tour into a much more interesting and competitive system."
The second confirmed Championship Series event will be sponsored by Sompo, a ***** anese insurance and financial services firm, the PGA Tour announced on Tuesday. The event's market has yet to be determined, though. In 2027, Sompo will back a full-field (non-signature) PGA Tour event at Silverado Resort's North Course in Napa, California, July 29 to Aug. 1—effectively replacing the Rocket Classic in Detroit, which is leaving the PGA Tour schedule after this season. In 2028, the Sompo event will relocate to a new market as part of the transition to the Championship Series.

The New Mexico Highlands football team was picked to finish sixth in the 10-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll, released Wednesday.
The Cowboys, who went 6-5 last year and 4-5 in RMAC games, had two players — linebackers Dawson Chapman and Dontaivious Nelson — selected to the preseason All-RMAC team.
NMHU also finished sixth in last season's standings and in the preseason poll — one in which coaches could not vote for their own team.
This year, the Cowboys earned 38 points.
Defending champion CSU Pueblo was picked to win the league, receiving eight — of a possible 10 — first place votes. Western Colorado (picked second) and Chadron State (picked fourth) each received two first place votes, as well. Colorado School of Mines was picked third, with no first place votes.

SILVIS, Ill. — Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler had to return to TPC River Highlands on Monday to finish their playoff at the Travelers Championship after heavy rain caused a weather delay Sunday afternoon.
The PGA Tour might run into the same problem again this week at the John Deere Classic, where brutally hot and humid conditions could cook up thunderstorms throughout the weekend in Silvis, Illinois. The first round got underway Thursday morning without a hitch, but the forecast for the rest of the tournament doesn't look too promising.
The first round of inclement weather could arrive Thursday afternoon, as the forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms. Even if those storms don't materialize, players will be dealing with temperatures in the low 90s with a heat index north of 100 degrees.
Friday's forecast is similar to Thursday's: partly cloudy with a high in the upper 80s and a heat index nearing 100, plus a 55 percent chance of a strong thunderstorm carrying heavy rain that could cause flash flooding in some areas.
Saturday's third round seems to have the biggest chance of a suspension in play, with cloudy and very humid conditions. There's a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms all throughout the day, and some of those storms could be severe, with high winds and damaging hail to go along with heavy rain.

Viktor Hovland of Norway had good reason to jump into a group of countrymen on June 29 at the TPC River Highlands and do the "Viking Row" that has become a familiar sight wherever Norsemen have gathered in America — for the World Cup, Major League Baseball, or in this case, a PGA Tour signature event.
Hovland celebrated with his fans behind the 18th green after sinking a birdie putt of 7 feet to beat Scottie Scheffler in a quick playoff for the Travelers Championship, the first Monday finish on the PGA Tour since Rory McIlroy won the 2025 Players Championship over J.J. Spaun.
It was Hovland's eighth PGA Tour **** le and moved him 36 spots up the FedEx Cup points list to 20th. Hovland is now well within the top 30 and if he stays there he has a chance to win the FedEx Cup for a second time in his career.
Scheffler held onto first place on the points list with his fourth runner-up finish of the season. The FedEx Cup concept is designed to reward consistency, and while Scheffler hasn't won since Jan. 25 at The American Express, the world's No. 1 player has been a model of consistency: 14 of 14 cuts, with all 14 among the top 25, and nine top-10 finishes, all fourth or higher.
The only big movement among the top 10 was Rory McIlroy, who did not play at River Highlands, dropping from eighth to 13th.

Scottie Scheffler has suggested that losing the Travelers Championship in a Monday playoff is slightly easier to accept due to how hard he knows Viktor Hovland works on his game.

Remarkably, it was only Hovland’s second PGA Tour win since lifting the FedEx Cup in 2023.

Wyndham Clark had a round to remember Sunday at the 2026 Travelers Championship.
The U.S. Open champion shot 5-under 65 during the final round at TPC River Highlands, and he did so with an excellent performance on the greens. Clark made 105 feet of putts, and he took only 20 swipes with the flat stick on Sunday.
In the history of the Travelers Championship, that's the fewest number of putts in a round ever.
Clark's putter change to the Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset has been revolutionary for his game. Since making the change, he has won twice – the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and his second U.S. Open ******* le – and finished T-5 at the Travelers. His worst finish in the last five starts is T-11. In a little more than three months, he has gone from a below-average putter to one of the best in the world.
The record for fewest putts in a PGA Tour round is 18, a whopping one per hole, achieved 12 times. Cameron Smith was the latest to do it in 2021.

Sometimes, 72 holes just aren’t enough.
After four days of world-class golf and a lengthy weather delay Sunday afternoon, the Travelers Championship will be decided Monday morning in a sudden-death playoff between World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 8 Viktor Hovland at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
The format couldn’t be simpler.
Scheffler and Hovland will return to the 18th tee at 9 a.m. ET and play the finishing hole. If they tie the hole, they’ll do it again. And again. And again. The first player to win a hole walks away with the Travelers Championship trophy.

Viktor Hovland began the final round of the Travelers Championship with a one-stroke lead over Scottie Scheffler.
Hovland has been really struggling with his game over the past two years, while Scheffler has experienced completely contrasting fortunes.
The 30-year-old from Dallas has won 14 times since the start of the 2024 season, while the Norwegian has just one victory to his name during that same period.
So, as Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland entered the final round of the Travelers Championship, it was the world number one who was the red-hot favorite, despite the fact that he trailed by one shot.
However, neither player produced anywhere near their best golf on Sunday at TPC River Highlands, as they allowed numerous other players back into the tournament.

Play resumed at 7:20 p.m. ET in the Travelers Championship, following an 83-minute weather suspension.
Officials halted play at 5:57 p.m., with dangerous weather in the Cromwell, Connecticut, area.

Rain began to increase around 5:20 p.m., and turned in a downpour at times. Officials continued play as TPC River Highlands was holding up to the conditions. Once electricity arrived in the area, however, the horn sounded and players were taken off the course.

It might be the most common number in New England, but you won’t find many 12’s around TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Especially dozens that look like J.T. Poston’s.
The Travelers Championship is traditionally a birdie fest, but Poston was enjoying none of that Sunday at the par-5 13th hole. Poston recorded a septuple-bogey 12 despite being just 80 feet from the hole after his first two strokes.
What the heck happened from there?
Poston’s third shot, nestled against the lip of the greenside bunker, traveled just 22 feet from the sand to the fairway cut short of the green; Poston told Golfweek he intentionally left that shot short of the putting surface, hoping to avoid the pond that guards the opposite side of the green. Of course, he ended up wet anyway, sending his chip through the green and into the water.

CROMWELL, Conn. — J.T. Poston was 3 under heading to the 13th tee on Sunday at the 2026 Travelers Championship and then hit a great drive down the middle of the fairway.

From 229 yards out from the hole, Poston's second shot went into a greenside bunker right of the putting surface. his third shot failed to reach the green and left him 59 feet from the hole. From there, his fourth shot went into the pond on the opposite side of the green, necessitating a penalty drop.
Poston's sixth shot from the greenside rough went back into the water, necessitating a second penalty drop. hitting 8, his ball went into the water again, forcing him to drop for a third time.
Poston's 10th shot, from rough, went 13 feet past the hole. He missed that putt for 11 and then tapped-in the 8-inch putt that remained for 12, a septuple bogey.

Scottie Scheffler shot a scintillating 10-under par 60 on day two at the Travelers Championship.
Scheffler played some truly magnificent golf on Friday at TPC River Highlands, and his round of 60 even featured a bogey on the par-four second hole.
The 30-year-old world number one has experienced a really bizarre 2026 PGA Tour season so far.
Scottie Scheffler has one win to his name, as well as eight top-5 finishes in 13 PGA Tour starts.
However, it has been clear to anyone who has watched him this season that he simply hasn’t had his best form.

Scottie Scheffler led for most of the day on Saturday at the Traveler’s Championship, but was overtaken by Viktor Hovland on the final hole when he missed a putt to card his second bogey of the back nine. The world no. 1 sits in solo second after shooting 3-under 67 at TPC River Highlands.

Eric Cole led the way with a bogey-free, 7-under 63 to take the overnight lead, but six other players finished one shot back at 64, with another six openingwith 65. By day's end, 15 players were 4 under par or better. The leaderboard has so many circles and 3's on it you might think it was stolen from Sesame Street.
That's hardly unusual at TPC River Highlands. The tournament has built its identity around low scoring and packed leaderboards, and the opening round suggested this year's edition could be another four-day shootout. With soft conditions from recent rain, receptive greens and little wind for much of the day, players took advantage whenever opportunities presented themselves.
There was no shortage of storylines beyond the scores, either. Matt Fitzpatrick continued his torrid season, Scottie Scheffler accomplished his goal of getting near the top of the leaderboard early and Ben Griffin rode a hot putter into contention.
