The WNBA is back with a new collective bargaining agreement and million dollar players.
The Las Vegas Aces will be looking to run it back as defending champs with the reigning MVP, A'ja Wilson, leading the way. Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. The Liberty, who were also bitten by the injury bug last season, already have Sabrina Ionesco on the sidelines after she rolled her ankle in a preseason game against the Connecticut Sun.

Superstar athletes traded jerseys and workout gear for designer looks on Wednesday night as they hit the red carpet for the 2026 ESPY Awards. The annual celebration of athletic achievement, held in New York City, saw tuxes, gowns and, in some cases, a fashion **** ist from none other than Flavor Flav. But who really brought their A-game?
We **** embled our Kids Rate panel of 11 children, ranging in age from 2 to 13, to judge the fashion winners (not to be confused with the actual winners).
Our young critics were drawn to sparkles, colors and unexpected accessories (an apple! a baseball bat!). They spotted spiderwebs, ice cream swirls and "melting faces" where the adults saw couture. One celebrity even reminded a kid of "my cousin Joey."
They also had plenty to say about one shirt-averse attendee. "Is that his underwear?" asked Beau, 7. "Ew, no."

New York City's pied-à-terre tax was designed to extract money from second-home owners wealthy enough not to live in the city full-time. A side effect no one planned for: it's pushing middle-class and working homeowners, people who already live in their houses, into estate-planning conversations they've never had before, at hourly rates they've never had to pay, for advice the wealthy have had access to for generations.
The rush of publicity accompanying the mayor's office highlighting a list of over 680,000 New York properties that could theoretically be subject to a new tax has inadvertently advertised how public most property data is. And it's advertised the benefits of seeking some totally legal privacy, or risk inadvertent doxxing, courtesy of Gracie Mansion.
"The wealthy and the ultra-high-net-worth have been in this game for a long time," said Myles Fischer, a partner who co-leads the Trusts and Estates practice group at Harris Beach Murtha. "The rest are sort of catching up." And that isn't cheap. Many middle-class and blue-collar homeowners are "being forced into a situation where they have to sit down with lawyers" to get planning advice that families with means secured years ago. After all, he added, "it's not that you have to be a rich person to have something worth protecting. We see it from across the board."
The trigger, in this case, was a public records disclosure. When the DOF released its supplemental pied-à-terre ****** sment file, the coverage focused on the penthouses and the LLCs holding them. But the unfiltered file swept in far more than luxury properties—it included modest homes in Bayside, single-family houses in Staten Island, properties whose owners may have had no idea their name, address, and ****** sed value were sitting in a publicly searchable dataset. Many still don't.
Fischer wasn't surprised by the reaction. "Anonymity is desirable when it can be achieved," he said, "but anonymity is also typically only one piece of the pie, so to speak. It's part of the tax plan, part of the estate plan, part of the ****** et protection, limitation-on-liability sort of pie." Privacy, in other words, is the door. The estate planning is what's behind it.

Carson Hocevar's unfiltered personality has quickly made him one of NASCAR's rising stars and a fan favorite.
And while his racing tactics may not endear him to other drivers (and those drivers' fans), the 23-year-old's passion for racing is not disputed.

The Las Vegas Aces will be looking to run it back as defending champs with the reigning MVP, A'ja Wilson, leading the way. Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. "Well, I mean, let's be clear, we've all done cocaine," Glanville remarked. "Well, in the 90s. I haven't since fentanyl came out."

Former USMNT stars Tim Howard and Landon Donovan were prepared to **** ist fans old and new with the nuances of the beautiful game through their "Unfiltered Soccer" podcast, which has 92,000 subscribers on YouTube and releases a new episode every Tuesday on major streaming platforms. The two National Soccer Hall of Famers were teammates for several years and played together at the 2010 World Cup, where Donovan famously had the stoppage time goal against Algeria to send the side to the round of 16. It was the last time the United States won their group before doing so again this summer.
This year, the USMNT was kicked out of the round of 16 via a 4-1 dismantling at the hands of Belgium, the team that the United States lost to in the 2014 tournament and Howard had his record 16 saves. The recent match had added tension around a rescinded red card to the United States' leading scorer Folarin Balogun. It had an audience of 30 million viewers on FOX, which made it the most-watched soccer telecast in United States history.
"I think this was a successful World Cup for our US men's national team on the field," Howard said in an interview with USA TODAY Sports. "I do. They did some really good things, and of course, stumbling at that hurdle hurts. It was always going to hurt whenever whenever the team went out. But they could be proud of themselves, and they had a really good tournament."
The World Cup, which had an added round with the expanded field of 48 teams, broke the attendance record in group play and finished with 6.8 million fans watching a match in person. A lot of things weren't on my bingo card coming into this week.
I didn't expect a billionaire tech founder to show me a lot of vintage supercars they just purchased. That was fun, I love cars.
Speaking of cars, I also didn't expect a $900 bill for a one-hour service on my new car. But hey, at least the dealership took a video of my car being worked on, sent it to me, and said they thought the car was beautiful. That makes shelling out $900 for some oil, wiper blades, a cabin filter, and expertly inflated tires a little more palatable.
From a market standpoint, I didn't anticipate further beatings in red-hot memory chip names like Micron (MU), Sandisk (SNDK), and IBM (IBM). All three could now be considered crashed-out tech stocks. But only one is dead money, given my many chats with experts.
That is IBM.

One way to find hitters who could bounce back in the second half is to look at expected metrics. Most expected batting average (xBA) formulas involve exit velocity. We want hitters to hit the ball hard. If hitters hit the ball hard and make enough contact, positive outcomes should occur. That’s a case where we want to trust a player’s skills instead of luck.
The visual below shows the hitters with the biggest gap in their xBA and actual BA. That suggests these hitters should have a better BA based on their skills.
We’ll take this a step further, looking at the hitters with the biggest expected wOBA difference in their actual wOBA, adding another layer to their profile. Unsurprisingly, some of the hitters with potential positive regression in their xBA also land on the list of xwOBA improvers, as seen below.
That said, let’s examine several hitters who could rebound in the second half based on the advanced metrics.

Starting the year as a bench player that filtered into the lineup periodically, Yost earned his way into a starting role with exception play and ended the year on an absolute heater. He posted very solid contact rates, and his EV's and barrel accuracy grade out exceptionally well, putting him near the top of the country in all of college baseball in exit velocity and barrel rate. Better still, Yost is adept at elevating the ball, particularly to his pull side; that's a trait teams really covet at the amateur level, and Yost's ability to do so turned him from a fringy non-prospect to a fifth round pick. Scouts tend to think he could play center and eventually profile as a fourth outfielder with some flexibility, but there's enough here to profile as a potential big leaguer down the line.

TURMUS AYYA, West Bank, July 11 (Reuters) - U.S. Democratic lawmaker Ro Khanna said he was detained by Israeli settlers armed with U.S.-made rifles during a West Bank visit this week that he cast as an unfiltered look at the human toll of Israeli occupation as he weighs a 2028 presidential run.
Speaking with Reuters on Thursday in a Palestinian village, Khanna said his group's van was surrounded by settlers wielding M4 rifles a day earlier while touring a part of the southern West Bank where residents face frequent settler attacks.
"We were at a village that Israeli settlers had destroyed, they had destroyed the school, they had destroyed that village, and we were just looking at it," said Khanna, a progressive lawmaker from California in the U.S. House of Representatives.
"And these hoodlums come in with machine guns – M4, an American-made machine gun – and they detain us. They block off the road. And then they call the IDF and the IDF is on their side, not on the side of the Americans," Khanna said, referring to the Israeli military.
