Alex Dougherty has said, "Social media saved me."
He's the oldest of 11 kids and part of one of the most popular families on the internet, known as the Dougherty Dozen by their 7.8 million TikTok followers.
Like many people, his mom, Alicia, joined TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic. She began posting about their extra-large family in 2020, when Alex was 14.
The appeal is simple: Viewers want to see what raising so many children is like, from the everyday to the extraordinary challenges. Seven of the Dougherty kids are adopted, and six have been diagnosed with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). Over time, viewers have gotten to know each kid as they grow up.

Dunkin' has enlisted the help of a pair of former Spice Girls and the comedian Rachel Dratch to promote the company's pumpkin spice lineup.
The Boston-based coffee-and-doughnut chain has released new ads for the company's Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, Pumpkin Cloud Dunkalatte, and other fall-flavored beverages.
The ads include former Spice Girls members Emma Bunton, or "Baby Spice," and Geri Halliwell-Horner, or "Ginger Spice." They discuss their time with the band in an interview, when they reveal a previously unknown sixth Spice Girl, "Pumpkin Spice," portrayed by Dratch.
They ultimately said she was "too seasonal" for the band and Dratch notes she "left to focus on lattes."

Kevin O'Leary has made his frugality almost as famous as his bluntness. The Shark Tank investor recently went viral standing in a Walmart aisle, comparing Bounty paper towel pack sizes and showing off the $29 black jeans he wears regularly. "Inflation affects all of us," he said in the Instagram video. "Saving dough is the name of the game."
But there's a category where Mr. Wonderful doesn't save dough, and it will surprise you.

Hundreds of cinnamon rolls initially believed to have been stolen from a South Florida bakery have been recovered, though the bakery's owner says the incident still cost her some serious dough.

One of the hardest things to do for players on the PGA Tour is work to improve their game while trying to win every week against the best players in the world. But now, with the 2026 PGA Tour season concluded, Golfweek is taking a statistical look to see which players improved the most in key areas of the game, year over year. The first part of the series (PGA Tour most improved in 2026: Driving distance, strokes gained off tee) can be found here.
In his 2014 book "Every Shot Counts: Using the Revolutionary Strokes Gained Approach to Improve Your Golf Performance and Strategy," Columbia professor Dr. Mark Brodie dispelled the longstanding myth that pros "Drive for show and putt for dough."
What Brodie's research found was that the golfers who are consistently contending for wins on the PGA Tour and who earn the most money tend to be players who are elite **** trikers because they avoid making big numbers and get more chances to score birdies.
Making more putts combines improving in three skills: reading greens, judging the ideal speed and making a repeatable, high-quality putting stroke. As any golfer at any level will tell you, getting better at putting is hard, but the players in the table below did it better than anyone on the PGA Tour last season.
While there are several other putting stats that are tracked by the PGA Tour, Strokes Gained: Putting is the most accurate **** sment of a golfer's putting performance because it isolates putting. Counting stats, like three-putt avoidance as an example, inherently include other aspects of a player's game.

On August 21, Flowers Foods (NYSE:FLO) held its second-quarter earnings call, and management didn't try to spin the results. Net sales fell 4% to $1.193 billion, as a 5.8% drop in volume overwhelmed the modest gains the company squeezed out on price. Branded retail volume fell even harder, down 7.6%, and net income sank 30.3% to $40.7 million. Underneath the weak quarter, though, is a company trying to reposition itself around where bread shoppers are actually headed, even as the next few months look no easier.
Even with volume sliding, Flowers Foods still pushed price and mix up 1.8% company wide, a sign its earlier pricing moves found at least some traction in a brutal bread aisle. Management also said its comprehensive organizational review is finished and the company has moved into executing the resulting cost initiatives, aimed at a structure that's been squeezed by labor and freight. CFO Anthony Scaglione pointed to $20 million in savings he expects those restructuring actions to deliver once fiscal 2027 arrives.
The bigger swing factor is where the company is putting its innovation dollars. Chairman and CEO Ryals McMullian pointed to sourdough, a $1.3 billion category where the company admits it's still underrepresented on shelves nationally, along with protein-enriched loaves, as the two ***** es where consumer tastes are actually moving. The relaunched Nature's Own line, now carrying Non-GMO Project Verified labeling, is getting encouraging early signals from retailers and shoppers alike. Executives also expect fresh customer wins already in the pipeline to help lift results later this year, and the company still generated $241.5 million in operating cash flow year to date, giving it room to fund the turnaround while it plays out.
The near-term numbers tell a rougher story. Volume fell 5.8% across the business as the fresh packaged bread category ran into an environment where household budgets are tighter, tastes are shifting and competitors are fighting hard on price. Branded retail net sales dropped 3.8% to $794.6 million, and the company's other segment, largely store-brand products, fell 4.4% as inflation pushed more shoppers toward cheaper private label. Profitability took the harder hit. Adjusted EBITDA dropped 19.2% to $111.3 million, just 9.3% of net sales, while adjusted diluted EPS fell nine cents to $0.21.
Management pointed to weaker output levels and rising labor costs behind a 40 basis point jump in production costs to 51.6% of sales, and higher spending on its workforce, freight and marketing pushed adjusted SD&A costs up 140 basis points to 39.1% of sales. McMullian also noted that rival bakers didn't follow Flowers Foods' price increases, leaving the company facing more aggressive promotions than it had planned for. Scaglione flagged oil, diesel and packaging resin costs as ongoing risks heading into next year. All of that led management to cut its full-year outlook, with net sales guidance now set at $5.070 billion

On August 18, Keysight Technologies (NYSE:KEYS) delivered a fiscal third quarter that beat the high end of its own guidance across the board. Revenue climbed 36% year over year to $1.85 billion, non-GAAP earnings per share jumped 79% to $3.07, and orders topped $2 billion for the second straight quarter. Management raised its outlook for both the fourth quarter and the full fiscal year, pointing to demand tied to artificial intelligence infrastructure, defense modernization, and next-generation communications standards. The results position Keysight as one of the more direct ways to invest in the testing and validation side of the AI buildout, a corner of the market most investors rarely think about.
Orders reached $2.091 billion in the quarter, up 56% on a reported basis, the second straight quarter above the $2 billion mark. Wireline orders more than doubled year over year as customers scaled out AI data center infrastructure, and Commercial Communications crossed $1 billion in quarterly revenue for the first time, up 56%, while revenue from wireline products outpaced wireless within that segment for the first time. The Electronic Industrial Solutions Group posted a record $501 million in revenue, up 21%, with double-digit order growth across general electronics, semiconductors, and automotive and energy. Aerospace, defense and government revenue grew 14% to $339 million as spending shifted toward lower-cost autonomous platforms, including UAVs and low earth orbit satellite constellations built by venture-funded defense technology firms.
Profitability expanded right alongside the growth: operating margin hit 33.2%, up 820 basis points and above the company's long-term target range of 31% to 32%, while free cash flow rose to $403 million from $291 million a year earlier. The company also added nearly 3,000 new customers so far this fiscal year, a group that has already contributed more than $100 million in new business, and said July was its busiest month yet for incoming sales opportunities, pushing the trailing 12-month pipeline to a record. Further out, the 3GPP standards body confirmed in June that the first 6G standard is targeted for March 2029, a milestone management said is already moving customers from exploratory research into funded development work.
CFO Neil Dougherty tempered the enthusiasm, warning that supply availability remains "a governor of our ability to convert demand into revenue" over the next several quarters, meaning orders are outrunning what the company can actually ship and book as revenue right now. He also noted that one-time tariff impacts in fiscal 2026 inflated this year's profitability in ways that are not expected to repeat in fiscal 2027. That combination, a backlog constrained by supply and a margin base partly lifted by tariffs, complicates how much of this quarter's strength carries forward unchanged. The integration of recent acquisitions is also still working through the system.

League action is back!
The Royals narrowly went through to the second round of the Carabao Cup last Saturday, beating Bromley on penalties. It was Joel Pereira that had the last laugh in that game, saving Ethon Archer's penalty, but plaudits should go to Kyreece Lisbie, who had a great game.
Lewis Wing missed a penalty but the captain settled that by kicking off the scoring in the shootout. It will be Stevenage that Reading play in the next round (which I predicted), so we will be able to focus on the league at least.
Luton Town beat Gillingham 3-0 in the cup, with their campaign getting off to a smoother start than the Royals'. Goals by Nahki Wells, Bennadict Benagr and Giddeon Kouda sealed the deal for the Hatters, who face Chelsea in the next round. So it is likely Luton will also be focusing on the league, but these games are never predictable.
We finally hit matchday one of League One, with Reading vs Luton kicking off at 12:30 on Saturday. It will be available on Sky Sports and will be played at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, which has a capacity of 24,161. The referee to take us into league action will be Leigh Doughty.

ARDMORE, Pa. – Having just finished 36 holes of stroke play at this 126th U.S. Amateur in 2 over par, Luke Poulter walked out of the scoring tent behind Merion's 18th hole on Tuesday afternoon and exclaimed, "I'm going to need a miracle."
His caddie has seen miracles around this place before.
Florida head coach J.C. Deacon, who is on the bag for his star rising senior, reached the semifinals of the 2005 U.S. Amateur at Merion before his opponent, Dillon Dougherty, won each of the last two holes with improbable shots that still get Deacon emotional thinking about them.
"I went from winning and playing in the Masters to it being over just like that," Deacon said.
Trailing Deacon 1 down with two holes to play, Dougherty missed the green left at the par-3 17th, prompting Deacon to say to himself on the long walk down to the green, I'm going to the Masters. But Dougherty then chipped in for birdie to win the hole and tie the match. On the next hole, the par-4 18th, Dougherty hit the broadcast booth with his approach and faced a 50-yard shot from a nasty lie. But again, Dougherty produced some magic, hitting a full flop that clanked off the flagstick to stone dead.

Krispy Kreme, Inc. (Nasdaq: DNUT) said second quarter adjusted EBITDA grew 43.2% to $28.8 million, and net revenue decreased 12.8% to $331.0 million due to its refranchising strategy and the closure of underperforming stores.
System-wide sales increased 1.1% in constant currency terms to reach $497.3 million, and rose 2.6% excluding sales attributable to the now-ended McDonald's U.S. partnership, it stated.
The company announced it is maintaining the fiscal outlook for 2026 and expects net revenue between $1.25 billion to $1.35 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $140 million to $150 million.
"The second quarter highlighted continued significant progress on our turnaround to strengthen the balance sheet, reduce leverage, and drive sustainable, profitable growth," said Josh Charlesworth, Krispy Kreme CEO. "Demand for our fresh, iconic doughnuts across the U.S. and international markets drove systemwide sales growth of 2.6% excluding the impact of the now-ended McDonald's USA partnership."

When you hear the name Warren Buffett and the conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway that he built into one of the world's largest market caps, you do not think of cutting-edge technology or artificial intelligence (AI). Buffett made his dough mostly in insurance, newspapers, and consumer goods brands like Coca-Cola.
However, before retiring from day-to-day operations at the end of 2025, Buffett began making a massive new Berkshire investment in Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), the parent company of Google, as he confirmed in a recent CNBC interview. Berkshire now has a whopping $30 billion bet on Alphabet.

Back in June, Alphabet sold $10 billion in newly issued common stock to Berkshire Hathaway at a price of roughly $350 per share. On July 30, the stock closed at $333.

Who among us could use a spare half a billion dollars? In this economy? Even with inflation, that’s a lot of dough.
The Powerball jackpot is once again climbing it small island owning levels of jackpots with the Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, prize of $546 million. That means some lucky winner could win a $255 million cash prize if they choose a one-time payout.
To win Powerball, players have to buy a ticket matching all five numbers and the Powerball — the odds of winning were 1 in 292,201,338 — and have the option to select a one-time cash payout worth $826.4 million instead of annual payments.
