Celtic boss Martin O'Neill hailed Camilo Duran as exceptional after he produced a magnificent display to fire his side towards the Champions League group stage.
The Colombian scored twice as Celtic swept aside LASK 3-0 at Parkhead on Wednesday night.
Celtic are firmly in control of their play-off tie ahead of next week's second leg in Austria.
Benjamin Nygren opened the scoring for the Hoops with a superb volley before Duran produced a near-identical finish 12 minutes later, firing into the top corner from outside the box.
His second was even better.

Jhon Lucumi has given his first interview as a Juventus player, speaking to the club's official channels shortly after completing his move from Bologna.
Speaking with quotes via Juventus' website, the Colombian defender is already relishing the step up: "I'm very happy to have arrived here. I'm joining the biggest team in Italy and I'm really excited. I can't wait to adapt quickly to my team-mates and help out this season."
Asked whether any Juventus defender in history had shaped his own career, Lucumi pointed to a familiar face from Colombian football before naming three club legends: "I think the first is Cuadrado. I think he did a great job here and he's a point of reference in Colombia for having played for this team. And then Juventus have had great defenders: Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli. I think they're role models for me and for all players who play in our position."

On his early dealings with head coach Luciano Spalletti, Lucumi kept things brief, suggesting there's still plenty of ground to cover before the new season gets under way: "We've only said ******* o so far. We have time to talk and to understand from him everything he wants me to do for the team."

One week out from the earthquake that shook Colombia to its core, Shakira is returning home. On Monday, the singer travels to Chocó, the area that bore the brunt of the magnitude-7.4 quake that struck on August 10 with an epicenter in San José del Palmar. It's a trip she's making not as a performer, but as a Colombian.
Shakira is on her way to Colombia to visit her country as it heals from the impact of the earthquake (@ Matthias Hangst)
According to Vanitatis, Shakira is expected to land around 2:30 p.m. local time and head to a local school, accompanied by the mayor and the governor of the region. Her arrival is scheduled for roughly 3:15 p.m., when she'll spend the day with students, families, and teachers still reeling from the disaster.
The stop is no coincidence: the school sits at the intersection of Shakira's music career and her philanthropic one. It's tied to her Barefoot Foundation, which opened its first school in Quibdó, Chocó's capital, back in 2005. In the two decades since, the foundation has built out a network of programs aimed at improving educational access for children and expanding opportunities for teenagers and young adults across Colombia, with education as the throughline of everything it does.
Few artists carry the weight that Shakira does in Colombia, and her presence in Chocó this week is being read as a gesture of solidarity from one of the country's own, delivered in person rather than from a stage or a screen.

Jhon Lucumi has joined Juventus from Bologna on a permanent transfer, and the 28-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 30 June, 2030.
Agreement with Bologna for the definitive acquisition of the player Lucumí
Lucumi came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Cali, making his professional debut at the age of 17 and immediately demonstrating great character and physicality on the pitch. Signed by Genk in 2018, he continued his career by securing a place in the starting line-up and becoming one of the best defenders in the Belgian league.
Since joining Bologna in 2022, the Colombian defender has made a total of 152 appearances over the last four seasons, also making his Champions League debut – in which he scored one of the two goals he has netted for the Rossoblu over the years.
Juventus are signing a player at the peak of his powers, ready to make an immediate contribution to the team ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have made the call not to move ahead with a potential deal for Sporting CP star Luis Suárez. This comes amid the understanding that the Colombian has been deemed too expensive.
Frontman Suárez has of course emerged as a prominent figure in the media headlines in Catalunya's capital over the last couple of days.
Amid Barcelona's ongoing pursuit of centre-forward reinforcements, the 28-year-old has been tipped as a new candidate to add to Hansi Flick's options through the middle.
Frustrated in their efforts to bring in Julián Alvarez from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid, Suárez's 38 goals last season have piqued the interest of Deco and his team of Camp Nou directors.
As alluded to above, though, almost as quickly as his name is understood to have been added to Barca's shortlist, it has now been crossed out.

Wetter weather forecasts for the Corn Belt over the next couple weeks will likely limit buyer interest in corn (ZCZ26) and soybean (ZSX26) futures. It's very likely going to take a U.S. soybean crop weather market scare in August to reignite bullish enthusiasm in soybeans and corn. So far, weather forecasts are not indicating such.
However, a positive for the grain markets recently has been a slumping U.S. dollar index ($DXY) that Friday hit a seven-week low.

World number one Scottie Scheffler matched the course record with a nine-under par 61 to grab a three-stroke lead after Friday's second round of the PGA St. Jude Championship.
The 30-year-old American sank 11 birdies against two bogeys to stand on 11-under 129 after 36 holes in the PGA FedEx Cup playoff opener at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
"I felt like I did a lot of stuff well," Scheffler said. "I gave myself a lot of looks, hit some nice iron shots and was able to make some birdies."
Four others have also fired 61s at the layout, the most recent being England's Justin Rose in 2023.
South Korean Im Sung-jae fired a 66 to stand second on 132 with Norway's Viktor Hovland. Sweden's Ludvig Aberg was another stroke adrift and Colombian Nico Echavarria, Americans Brian Harman and Jordan Spieth and England's Tommy Fleetwood, the reigning playoff champion, on 134.

La Liga champions Barcelona have moved to categorically deny any and all interest in the signature of Sporting CP star Luis Suárez. This of course comes on a day in which the Colombian has dominated the headlines in Catalunya's capital.
Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements at centre-forward, Barcelona have over the last couple of weeks been linked with a whole host of attackers from across the European landscape.
As of yet unable to convince La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid to part with star frontman Julián Alvarez, Deco and co. have been left with little choice but to broaden their search.
The name of the aforementioned Suárez – fresh off a 38-goal season in Portugal – has in turn emerged as the latest tipped to fill the gaping hole in Hansi Flick's frontline.
As alluded to above, however, mere hours on from reports linking the parties with one another, Barca have moved to shut down the speculation.

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have been made aware of the massive sum with which they would be forced to part to sign Luis Suárez from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP this summer.
This of course comes amid mounting speculation linking the Blaugrana with a move for the Colombian international.
Frontman Suárez has taken his place at the forefront of the media headlines surrounding Hansi Flick's Barcelona across the day to date. Amid ongoing frustration in their pursuit of priority striker target Julián Alvarez, Deco and the Camp Nou brass are understood to have earmarked the 28-year-old as a viable alternative.
Suárez is fresh off a spectacular campaign in Portugal in 2025/26, giving rise to 47 direct goal contributions in 53 appearances all told.
With as much in mind, it should therefore come as little surprise to learn of the brass at The Estádio José Alvalade demanding a premium fee for their star goalscorer…

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly admire Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz as Roberto De Zerbi looks to sign a new right-back this summer. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club are set to sell Djed Spence to Inter Milan, and his Palace counterpart has emerged as a likely replacement. Munoz 'is a proper runner and threat on goal', but Spurs are not the only ones keen on the Colombian after his impressive performances at the World Cup.
The 30-year-old is also on the radar of Everton, but it is unknown whether Palace have plans to sell him anytime soon. Munoz has two years left on his contract with the Selhurst Park club, but they also hold the option for a further year. He can also feature as a wing-back and boasts much-needed experience having played over 100 games for the Eagles since joining from Genk in January 2024.

Despite a potential financial windfall, there is a very strong argument to be made that Bayern Munich needs to keep Luis Díaz — and should not even consider a sale of the Colombian.
While there have been some rumors reporting Al-Hilal to have interest in the winger, Bayern Munich absolutely needs to keep Díaz for the next two seasons and capitalize on the insane chemistry that the attacker has with Harry Kane and Michael Olise.
The Colombian winger has already shown why he can be such an important piece of Vincent Kompany's team. Bayern Munich needs players who can create something out of nothing, stretch defenses, attack ***** e and provide another source of goals and ***** ists. Díaz brings all of those qualities.
In addition, Díaz brings insane production to the table as well. The 29-year-old had 26 goals and 23 ***** ists in 51 games across all competitions last season. His value goes beyond the numbers, too. Bayern Munich have several talented attacking players, but Díaz offers a different profile. His directness and willingness to take defenders on can change the dynamic of a match. When Bayern Munich are facing a compact defense and struggling to create ***** e through the middle, having a player capable of driving into the box from the wing becomes extremely important.
There is also the matter of squad depth. Bayern Munich are competing on multiple fronts, and relying on the same small group of attackers throughout a long season is not realistic. Juan Cuadrado became one of the few players in recent times to move to Inter Milan after spending a long period at Juventus, where he also served as captain in several matches.
The Colombian spent almost a decade at Juventus and made more than 200 league appearances for the club. However, he was not prepared to leave in the summer of 2023 because the Bianconeri had promised to offer him a new contract.
The club soon changed its position, leaving Cuadrado without a club when he had expected to extend his stay in Turin. Inter Milan then approached him, presenting the winger with an opportunity to continue his career at one of Juventus' biggest rivals.
Most former Juventus stars would likely reject an approach from Inter because they understand how supporters could react to seeing them wearing the Nerazzurri colours. Cuadrado, however, accepted the move and has now explained why he felt he had little choice after Juventus changed their plans.
The Colombian says Juventus had promised him a new contract and that he was expecting to receive the deal. Instead, the club released him, leaving him to consider other options as a free agent.

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella on Friday pledged to revive the country's oil and gas sector, restore state-owned energy company Ecopetrol and strengthen the electricity system, arguing that energy security would be a cornerstone of his administration.
Speaking during his inauguration, de la Espriella said Colombia would pursue an energy transition — a shift away from oil, gas and coal toward cleaner energy sources such as wind and solar power — but insisted it must not come at the expense of the country's oil and gas industry.
"I believe in the energy transition," he said. "But that transition must be built from strength, not from weakness, from self-sufficiency and not from dependence."
The remarks reinforce a sharp shift from former President Gustavo Petro, who stopped awarding new oil and gas exploration contracts while pushing Colombia toward renewable energy and making protection of the Amazon a centerpiece of his environmental agenda. Just four months ago, Petro's government hosted an international summit in the Caribbean city of Santa Marta aimed at building support for a global transition away from fossil fuels.
The commitments echo promises de la Espriella made throughout his presidential campaign, when he repeatedly vowed to expand oil and gas production and reverse key elements of Petro's energy policy.

Chelsea have now emerged as serious contenders in the growing race for Jhon Lucumi, with Quotidiano Sports reporting that Bologna's defender is attracting renewed and increasingly forceful attention from the Premier League.
The situation is developing quickly. Juventus have already seen an opening proposal rejected and, despite returning with an improved package, they remain short of Bologna's asking price. That has created **** e for English clubs to test the waters, and Chelsea are understood to be among those doing exactly that.
The numbers outlined are clear. Juventus opened with an offer worth £15 million plus £3 million in bonuses, before raising that to £18 million plus add-ons. Bologna's position, though, has barely shifted. Their valuation remains £25 million plus £3 million, a figure they were prepared to accept elsewhere and one they now appear determined to protect.
Photo IMAGO
From Chelsea's perspective, the interest makes sense. Bologna's Colombian centre-back fits a profile that has become increasingly relevant in the market, a left-sided central defender with top-level experience and a reputation for composure in possession. With movement around Chelsea's defensive options continuing, Lucumi has clearly entered the club's thinking.

At the All-Star Break's conclusion, I wrote on expectations, and their virtue as an exercise with this franchise towards a more hopeful future near and far. These Seattle Mariners, 3.0 games back of the AL West and the third Wild Card spot alike, have earned little and less belief. They've played poorly, wasted chances, and frittered opportunities to cleanse their palates. Much has rightly been made of the necessity for the core players to perform at or near the standards they've set for several years. But Seattle is giving up massive production on the fringes, and they've forced themselves into an uncomfortable, desperate position.
It is time for them to call up Michael Arroyo.
Seattle needs right-handed hitting, and with J.P. Crawford sidelined at least for several weeks, there is no easy solution at third base. Brendan Donovan returns on Tuesday to rotate around the field, but it's hard to look at the lineup as constructed and see anywhere for him to play more frequently than the hot corner. Arroyo has played some third base, but it's realistically not where he could be thrown in, although his defense is less egregious and more limited if asked to play second base or corner outfield. But they need his bat, because the Mariners need to take some risks, and rotating Weston Wilson, Victor Robles, Rob Refsnyder, Leo Rivas, and Mitch Garver through to take flaccid swing after flaccid swing is a Wile. E. Coyote kind of road that the Mariners have been slamming into the wall of all summer. The Rainiers' roster is stocked with similar players who've struggled to set themselves apart this year and over many years, from Connor Joe to Patrick Wisdom to Stuart Fairchild, along with injured options like Ryan Bliss and Brennen Davis. With Luke Raley seemingly ailing, the M's have to be more aggressive to rev up their offense before it's too late.
View Link
Arroyo is a 21 year old Colombian ~utilityman whose profile made him the most-heralded hitting prospect from his burgeoning baseball nation since Colombia's first and greatest star: SS Edgar Renteria. The 5'10, compact youngster has never been at the top of Seattle's prospect list, but has hit his way into top-100 status nationally over the past couple seasons, with an approach I first wrote about in the winter before the 2024 season. Following a strong debut at age 18 with the Low-A Modesto Nuts, I said this of Arroyo:

FIFA President Gianni Infantino gestures during his visit to the new Concentration Hotel of the Colombian Football Federation in Barranquilla, Colombia, on February 24, 2026. The Mexican city of Guadalajara is trying to reassure football fans ahead of the World Cup, which begins in 100 days, after being shaken by the violence sparked on February 22 by the death of powerful cartel boss Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera. (Photo by David SALAZAR / AFP via Getty Images)
Gianni Infantino has built his presidency on an ability to push through ambitious —and often controversial — changes despite widespread resistance. His abrupt decision to abandon plans to sell a stake in FIFA's commercial rights to private equity marks a rare and significant political defeat, exposing the limits of his authority and raising new questions about his future leadership.
The plan itself was unprecedented. By placing FIFA's most valuable commercial ****** ets — including the World Cups — into a $20 billion company with outside investors holding a 20% stake, Infantino was attempting to fundamentally reshape how the planet's most lucrative and popular sporting event is financed and managed.
Infantino had argued that private capital would have accelerated investment and unlock long-term revenue. Critics, however, saw something much more sinister: The commercialization of soccer's crown jewel.
What ultimately doomed the plan was not simply opposition, but the breadth and speed of that opposition. Within days, UEFA, European soccer's governing body, voted to boycott FIFA competitions, an extraordinary escalation from an organization that has frequently clashed with Infantino but rarely challenged his authority.

The writing has been on the wall at Parkhead for some time. Celtic are ready to listen to offers for Johnny Kenny this summer, with Millwall positioning themselves at the front of the queue. Sky Sports, via The72, confirmed that the Scottish champions won't stand in the striker's way if a decent bid comes in. Alex Neil wants the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international at The Den, convinced he can hit the ground running straight away in the Championship.
The signing of Colombian attacker Camilo Duran from Qarabag effectively sealed Kenny's fate. Celtic originally paid Sligo Rovers £140,000 for the forward back in January 2022. Alan Nixon reports via his Patreon that a figure around £850,000 should get the deal done now. That represents a tidy profit on a player who never quite nailed down a starting spot.
Millwall aren't alone in their chase. Bolton Wanderers want him back permanently after his impressive loan spell last term. Kenny clicked quickly under Steven Schumacher, bagging six goals in 14 matches to help push Bolton towards promotion from League One before a knee issue cut his campaign short.
Add those figures to his Celtic return, and he managed 12 goals and two ******* ists across 36 total games in 2025/26. Four of those goals came in 22 Scottish Premiership matches for Celtic. Respectable enough for a squad member. Not enough to demand a starting shirt under Martin O'Neill. Publicly, O'Neill has noted that no final decision has been made on the Irishman's long-term future. Behind the scenes, sources suggest breaking into the first team this summer looks like a mountain too steep to climb.
Taking £850,000 for a squad player isn't defeatist. It is basic business. Celtic get a clean exit, pocket a profit, and free up ******* e on the wage bill for O'Neill to reinvest where it matters. Kenny gets the chance to kickstart his career somewhere he will actually play week in, week out.

Shakira raised eyebrows after she was photographed sharing a warm moment with Ferran Torres following his match-winning performance against Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
The 49-year-old singer joined comedian Kevin Hart in presenting the 26-year-old forward with the Man of the Match award after Spain secured victory.
