NEW YORK, July 27 (Reuters) - The former JPMorgan Chase banker whose lurid **** ual harassment lawsuit went viral added new claims and defendants on Monday, saying the largest U.S. bank's acceptance of racism and **** ual coercion irreparably destroyed his ‌career.
Chirayu Rana said racism was ingrained in the culture of his otherwise all-white leveraged finance team, where his South Asian heritage "became ‌the punchline for a stream of degrading jokes," including calling him a "monkey" and "brown boy."
JPMorgan has said it believed Rana's allegations were meritless. Neither the bank nor its lawyers had an immediate comment.
In an 82-page complaint, Rana, who is of Nepali descent, added allegations that colleagues suggested he transact in rupees, and one texted that he should "run before we call ICEE {sic} on your family," referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An MP has said he is "deeply concerned" after plans for asylum seekers' accommodation on a former military base have been deemed "nationally important and urgent".
On Monday, Lib Dem MP for Bicester and Woodstock Calum Miller posted on Facebook showing written confirmation that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) site near Bicester, Oxfordshire, had been informed of the plans in November.
"If ministers have known for eight months, what exactly makes this urgent now?," he asked.
The Home Office confirmed that planning permission was being sought at three new sites, including MoD Bicester, but has not yet directly commented on Miller's question.
Miller shared two images along with his post, one of which is a letter by Matthew Pennycook MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning.

Malaysian scientists have discovered a new species of parasitic fungus that preys on "zombie fungus" known to infect insects before subjecting them to a gruesome death.
The new species was found in the jungles on Malaysia's part of Borneo, a large island known for its biodiverse rainforests. Samples were collected during multiple field trips conducted by the University of Malaysia Sabah's Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation, and the research was published in the New Zealand Journal of Botany.
It was dubbed a "hyperparasite" because it "effectively parasitizes the primary pathogen," the institute's Deputy Director Jaya Seelan Sathiya Seelan told AFP on Friday.
"The fungus belongs to the genus Pleurocordyceps and acts as a specialized hyperparasite," Seelan said.
The new species targets ants already infected by Ophiocordyceps, or "zombie fungus," which manipulates the infected insect's nervous system and makes it behave erratically before killing it and bursting from its carcass.

WASHINGTON, June 8 (Reuters) - The United States imposed additional visa restrictions Monday on ‌more than 100 Nicaraguan officials and ‌their family members over the death of indigenous leader Brooklyn Rivera.
"The United States will not ignore the Murillo-Ortega dictatorship's responsibility for the horrific death of political prisoner Brooklyn Rivera," Secretary ‌of State Marco Rubio said in a statement.
Rivera, a former lawmaker, died in state custody at age 73 in May, Nicaragua's health ministry said.
Rivera, who had been detained since 2023, died from bacteria generated by COVID-19, Nicaragua's ‌health ministry said on May 31.
Reports of his death elicited outrage from human rights groups who said he had been subject to arbitrary detention and was a victim ‌of political persecution.
