Cristiano Ronaldo is at the centre of a media storm once again after his "well-wisher", Piers Morgan, leaked brutal text messages from him about a British broadcaster who criticised him.
Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo abruptly left the Portuguese national team in the middle of an international break, he's dominated the headlines.
His statement, in which he basically demanded that Jorge Jesus apologise for disrespecting him, comparing himself to Pele and Maradona, went viral.
It was criticised by British broadcaster Simon Jordan in an intense back-and-forth with Piers Morgan, and the latter has brought Ronaldo's take on it to the public.
People know by now that Ronaldo is not afraid of speaking his mind, and criticism affects him hard, regardless of who it comes from.

Nicole Brown Simpson, the ex-wife of O.J. Simpson, is still remembered because of her tragic murder, a case that continues to shock people even today. Decades after the heartbreaking incident, Nicole's sister Denise Brown has opened up about the painful past and confronted the trauma that followed the O.J. trial.
Decades after the brutal murder of the late NFL star's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson's sister has now published a book in her memory. The book aims to help people experiencing domestic violence find their voice. During this, Denise Brown spoke with reporters, as per People's coverage.
According to the author, she didn't believe Nicole Brown Simpson was "a battered woman."
Denise later talked about the book, saying, "This book was written to save lives. I couldn't save Nicole, but I don't want there to be another Nicole."
In her new book, For My Sister Nicole: Love Shouldn't Hurt, Denise Brown draws from her personal history and experiences to portray the abusive relationship that, according to her, brutally ended her sister's life.

An old Wall Street adage just got a fresh test.
"Don't fight the Fed" has guided generations of investors through rate cycles both gentle and brutal. This time, it came roaring back into the conversation after the central bank made its first major policy shift in more than three years.
Jim Cramer wasted no time translating what happened into plain language for viewers watching at home. His verdict landed within hours of the decision, and it was blunt enough to make anyone holding stocks in their portfolio pay very close attention.
Cramer delivered his warning on Sept. 16 on "Mad Money," just hours after the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark federal funds rate by a quarter percentage point to a range of 3.75% to 4%.
"If you buy stocks here, you're now officially fighting the Federal Reserve," Cramer said, invoking the old adage that ignoring it tends to hurt returns.

Argentina's controversial right-wing president, Javier Milei, slashed inflation with a brutal dose of economic austerity, but this came at a steep social cost. The cost of living is spiraling higher, fueling household debt, loan delinquencies, and economic hardship. Industrial output, since Milei took office, has declined sharply, with local companies closing at an alarming rate. While parts of the economy are falling into chaos, Argentina's oil and gas sector is experiencing a generational boom driven by the Vaca Muerta shale.
Argentina's vital hydrocarbon sector continues to surge, with oil production hitting yet another record in July 2026. Output reached 902,920 barrels per day, almost 1% above June and 12% higher than a year earlier, marking the country's highest oil production on record. Natural gas production has also expanded strongly, although output slipped 0.5% month over month and 1.6% year over year in July to average 5.6 billion cubic feet per day. That modest setback barely dents the bigger picture: economically crucial gas production has surged 21% over the past five years.
It is the ongoing and growing exploitation of the Vaca Muerta shale, situated in northern Patagonia in Neuquén Province which is responsible for Argentina's booming oil and natural gas complex. For July 2026, shale oil production rose by 1.2% month over month and a whopping 26% year over year to an all-time high of 648,347 barrels per day. As a result, shale oil now comprises a record 72% of Argentina's total petroleum output. This is also responsible for bolstering energy security in the Americas.
Shale gas production is also expanding at a healthy clip. For July 2026, Argentina lifted an average of 3.9 billion cubic feet per day of the fossil, which, despite being nearly 1% less than a month prior, was almost 4% higher year over year. That is the second-highest monthly shale gas production ever recorded. It was only eclipsed by June 2026 output, which hit 3.94 billion cubic feet per day. Shale gas now makes up 70% of Argentina's natural gas output, which is the highest level ever recorded.
Shale oil and gas production will keep growing at a solid pace, with Argentina on track to become a pure unconventional producer. You see, conventional oil output is in decline and has been for over a decade. Argentina's conventional fields are well past their prime, in many cases having hit peak production a decade ago with output now truly in decline. Government data shows July 2026 conventional oil production of 254,574 barrels per day, which is 2% lower than a month prior and 13% less year over year, indicating conventional oil output is 50% lower than a decade ago.

Interested in Qualcomm Incorporated? Here are five stocks we like better.
Qualcomm trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of just 22, well below rivals like NVIDIA, Broadcom, and AMD, despite its ties to the AI boom.
Analysts, including Rosenblatt Securities with a $235 price target, see upside from Qualcomm's expansion into AI data centers, automotive chips, and on-device AI processing.
Apple's shift to in-house modem chips and a sluggish Android market in China threaten to offset Qualcomm's diversification gains, keeping its consensus rating at Hold.
There's a certain irony in a stock that has just rallied hard still being written off, yet that's exactly where chipmaker Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) finds itself right now. After a brutal 44% slide through much of the summer, its shares staged an impressive comeback, climbing around 30% since the start of August.

The Cleveland Browns were unable to overcome the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week One of the 2026-27 NFL season, 34-10.
Cleveland's disastrous performance on Sunday afternoon fell on the hands of the offense, as the unit failed to consistently move the ball downfield. This unfortunately forced the defense into brutal field position for most of the contest, which led to Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence's incredible four-touchdown performance.
During his opening remarks to the media following the loss, head coach Todd Monken told reporters that the Browns "didn't execute on the road" the way they expected to this past weekend.
"We didn't execute on the road the way we expected," Monken claimed. "Without really seeing the tape, the obvious issues came in operation, and a couple delay of games and false starts that we thought we cleaned up, but obviously we didn't."
One of the most pressing issues for the Browns' offense on Sunday was the simple line-of-scrimmage operations that Monken stressed for most of the offseason.

The Chargers suffered a brutal Week 1 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday, 26-14.
Los Angeles was flat for most of the contest and was outplayed in all three phases. The Cardinals were the more prepared and physical team in the season opener, and the Chargers fell flat on their face.
It was evident, especially in the second half. While many Chargers were unhappy with their performance, tight end Charlie Kolar offered a blunt ****** sment.
Kolar spoke to the media after the game and didn't hold back after the game.
"Just not good enough, plain and simple," Kolar said.

Why Falcons likely won't bench Cooper Rush for beloved UDFA after rough Week 1 originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Atlanta Falcons have a very brutal quarterback situation during the 2026 NFL season. Michael Penix Jr. is supposed to be the starter, but he's coming off an injury and isn't 100% just yet.
Tua Tagovailoa was meant to be the starter, but he sustained an oblique injury during practice, leaving Cooper Rush to start. He, too, was dealing with an injury, but the Falcons stuck with him as the starter. That was a mistake, as he really struggled.
It wouldn't be surprising for fans and media to call for the Falcons to start beloved undrafted free agent quarterback Jack Strand in place of Rush. But, Marc Raimondi of ESPN shared why the Falcons won't make the switch, as they don't believe he's ready yet.
"It does not seem like the team thinks undrafted rookie Jack Strand, who played great in the preseason, is ready just yet," Raimondi writes.

Kentucky football's first loss of the season was a tale of two halves. In the first half, they controlled the ball, forced turnovers, and limited the Alabama Crimson Tide's offense. In the second half, Alabama controlled the game, and pulled away for a 45-17 win over the Wildcats.
It was a closer game than the score indicates, and there were some promising things to take away from it, but a loss is a loss, and Kentucky's brutal schedule means they have to beat some of these good teams to even get to .500.
Most of the rest of the SEC had a successful Saturday to some degree. The conference is showing its strength so far, and it was reflected in the coaches poll, where nine SEC teams were in the top 25.
So how does Kentucky fit in this week's SEC power rankings? Here's the breakdown.

Do the Chiefs play today? Schedule, time, channel for next Kansas City football game originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Chiefs will start the 2026-27 regular season in prime time, with a Week 1 matchup against the Broncos on Monday Night Football.
Kansas City is entering this season with a better outlook, and hopefully with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes finally back on the field after a brutal ACL tear in December. The Chiefs won't be able to ease into the regular season, though, facing a strong AFC West rival right off the bat.
Luckily, Andy Reid made some moves in the offseason to keep the roster fresh. Steve Spagnuolo bolstered his defense with a few namely additions, including cornerback Mansoor Delane and edge R Mason Thomas. And of course, Travis Kelce is returning to Arrowhead, although it could be his last season for the legacy franchise.

Jai Opetaia scored a brutal technical knockout win in the ninth round of his cruiserweight clash with Noel Mikaelian on Saturday night, then lined up a potentially massive showdown with pound-for-pound star David Benavidez for Cinco de Mayo next year.
It all went down at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena on the Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn undercard, and provided the sport with something it has lacked — continuity — in a 200-pound division often overlooked in favor of the traditionally more glamorous weight classes that surround it.
Opetaia walked to the ring sweating, as if he'd warmed up with intent to hurt, and he needed no second invitation to land the first punch of the night. He kept his forearms high to thwart Mikaelian's probing punches, throwing single shots in return, mostly to the head and to the body too. But a clash of heads, likely caused by their opposing stances, appeared to open a cut below Opetaia's eye, slowing The Ring champion's momentum.
IS THIS FINALLY GOING TO HAPPEN ⁉️
See y'all next Cinco de Mayo 👀#GarciaBenn pic.twitter.com/rzWlLyVCzN
Whether it was the bruising that had begun to grow, or the loss of his friend and former trainer Louis Meehan, who was shot dead Wednesday in a Sydney suburb, Opetaia seemed momentarily subdued.

Texas football news: Watch Kevin Durant test his QB arm at Ohio State clash appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Texas Longhorns welcomed Ohio State to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday for a big game that didn't go the 'Horns' way early, as the Buckeyes jumped out to a 20-3 halftime lead. Texas quarterback Arch Manning made a brutally honest admission about last year's game film of his team's loss to Ohio State but did little to change it as he completed only 50% of his passes in the first half for 60 yards with one interception.
The game included celebrity pregame appearances from Houston Rockets star and Longhorns alum Kevin Durant along with actor Matthew McConaughey, who narrated an ice-cold hype video before the marquee matchup.
Durant got plenty of attention as he was seen on the sidelines showing off his quarterback skills on the same night as Manning and Ohio State QB Julian Sayin's duel. He appeared calm and content in a black T-shirt, long pants, and white baseball cap, looking like he could pass as a college quarterback while slinging passes with ease.

The deafening roar of Kroger Field that fueled a 17-13 halftime lead eventually gave way to a much heavier, quieter reality. When the final whistle blew on a 45-17 loss to Alabama, the scoreboard reflected a fractured dream of an upset, leaving players and fans alike processing the sting of what could have been yet again.
For Will Stein, the immediate aftermath wasn't about pointing fingers; it was about raw accountability and a profound gratitude for a fanbase that delivered a championship-level atmosphere.
The fans showed up in full force, selling out Kroger Field for Will Stein's SEC debut, creating an environment that Stein described as "unbelievable," "loud," and "energetic." Recognizing the massive emotional investment of the crowd, he didn't mince words. "I apologize to our fans for the way that we finished," he admitted, fully aware of the collective heartbreak echoing through the stands and the locker room. "I know our guys are hurting."
That hurt can't carry on too long; the SEC is an unforgiving league, and the 2nd-half performance against Alabama can't bleed over to next week.
The first half offered a vivid glimpse into the program's potential that Will Stein spoke on before the season started. The defense hunted the ball, securing three takeaways, while the offense capitalized to carry a lead into the locker room. But the second half brought stalled drives and exhausted defenders. Pinned back by short fields, the defense was asked to hold back the Tide a few too many times. "When you're defending a short field virtually the entire half, and we weren't converting on third downs, that was tough on our defense," Stein noted, acknowledging the brutal physical toll.

Ohio State superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith knew exactly how to troll Texas after scoring a touchdown right before halftime in Austin on Saturday night.
At the tail end of a brutal half for the Longhorns, the Buckeyes got a last-minute touchdown on a beautiful catch from Smith.
TEXAS: Arch Manning's perplexed reaction to this improbable INT was priceless
After he got Ohio State that key touchdown, he broke out the infamous "Horns Down" hand motion to mock the Texas fans in the stands.
Of course, there's no better way to poke fun at Texas than with the "Horns Down," which isn't penalized in the SEC. Opponents have free reign over the hand signal, and they take advantage of it.

The defining topic of Saturday's football action was definitely the major crisis and nightmare start of Borussia Mönchengladbach, which was completed in brutal fashion this afternoon with a 0–5 thrashing in Breisgau.
So far, comparatively little has been said about the team that made the situation for Polanski's side even more dramatic today. Probably too little.
Because SC Freiburg currently find themselves at the opposite extreme. With three wins from three games, they sit top of the table and have enjoyed a perfect start to the new season.
The club has never before won each of its first three matches in a season.
The attack in particular has been highly impressive. In the team's six competitive matches so far this season, no fewer than eleven different players have already gotten on the scoresheet.

The Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Doonbeg has turned into a story of resilience and record-breaking golf. While the first round saw players battling wind and rain that made the course play brutally difficult, the second round brought a dramatic shift in fortune. Shane Lowry, the local favorite, didn't just survive the conditions; he absolutely dominated them. After airing his frustration with the slow pace caused by the weather in the opening round, Lowry produced a stunning performance to take the lead. Golf Monthly reports that Lowry shot a record-breaking 62 under much kinder conditions to take the lead at the midpoint. This score puts him two shots clear of the field and sets the stage for a thrilling weekend.
The contrast between the two rounds couldn't be starker. The first day was defined by struggle, with Golf Monthly noting that the brutal conditions contributed to slow play across the property. Players like Lowry had to wait for groups ahead, testing their patience. Yet, when the wind died down, Lowry found his rhythm. He isn't alone in the hunt, however. The chasing pack is packed with talent, including defending champion Rory McIlroy, two-time Major winner Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka, all of whom Golf Monthly confirmed will join Lowry in the third round. Joaquin Niemann, the first-round leader, also remains in contention to challenge the Irishman.
While Lowry's score grabs the headlines, the most compelling story of the week might be the rise of Niklas Nørgaard. The Danish golfer has moved into a tie for second place alongside Jacob Skov Olesen and Haotong Li after posting matching 64s, according to europeantour.com. This surge came from a fundamental change in how Nørgaard approached the game, not just better ball-striking. The pressure of competition often weighs heavy, but Nørgaard found a way to lighten the load. A shift in mindset this week earned praise for his caddie, as he disclosed that his coach is actually riding in the bag during this event.
Nørgaard explained his strategy directly to the media, and the result was immediate. Europeantour.com notes that Nørgaard received late applause from spectators after draining a vital putt on the 18th and finishing his round with a closing birdie to enter the chase. His back nine was a blur of birdies, specifically a burst from the 14th to 16th holes that propelled him up the leaderboard. You have to wonder if that mental shift is the only thing standing between him and a ***** le run, considering how tight the field really is.
Other players faced different challenges. Thomas Detry made an albatross at the par-5 10th in the opening round, a rare feat that should have boosted his day. However, he finished the first day with a 74 and ultimately missed the cut, according to Golf Monthly. On the other side of the field, David Puig struggled to find consistency. Following a 71 in the opening round that left him one over par, he posted the exact same score during the second rou

In a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, former All-Pro and current Thursday Night Football **** yst Andrew Whitworth said the Denver Broncos are on an upward trajectory heading into 2026
Whitworth acknowledged what could have been in the 2025 Super Bowl, while looking forward to Denver's 2026 season, especially against the Seattle Seahawks, a game which Whitworth will attend as part of the TNF crew.
"That's another one," Whitworth said of the Broncos-Seahawks matchup in Week 6. "I still think that's a game that could have been last year's Super Bowl, but it also could be this year's. Both those teams have the potential to be there again."
The big game against Seattle will be a pivotal one for the Broncos; it is the final game of a brutal six-game opening stretch; however, it will be potentially the best-looking game of the season, as both squads will wear their beautiful throwback uniforms.
Whitworth complimented the Broncos for their moves in the 2026 offseason, showing they can be contenders once again.

The opening round at the Irish Open delivered a brutal test of patience and precision. Trump International Golf Links & Hotel, Ireland, saw play slowed significantly across the field as strong winds dominated the conditions. Defending champion Rory McIlroy managed to stay in the hunt, carding a 1-under 69 despite a costly double bogey on the 13th hole. While he sits four shots behind the leader, his position remains viable heading into the second day. The defending champion knows the margin for error is slim when the elements turn hostile. He remains tied for 17th place, a spot that offers hope but demands immediate improvement to challenge for the **** le.
According to GolfMagic, Joaquin Niemann seized the early lead with a spectacular 5-under 65. The LIV Golf standout made his move with four consecutive birdies from the 14th to the 17th holes. His drive on the 14th landed a mere three feet from the cup, creating a simple birdie opportunity that propelled his charge. Niemann's sole mistake was a bogey on the 12th following a three-putt. When asked about the experience, he noted, "It was a lot of fun out there."It's a really tricky course and a really fun golf course to play, especially with the Irish weather, he also praised the layout, stating. Despite the pressure of chasing the leader, Niemann capitalized on the scoring opportunities while others struggled.
Rory McIlroy's round told a different story of resilience. His tee shot at the 13th rolled into a bunker, hit the lip, and came back into the sand. His second shot then hit below the lip, skipped out of the sand, and landed on the fairway, yet the damage was done with a double bogey. Playing alongside Brooks Koepka, who shot a 75 after a triple bogey start, McIlroy faced a difficult back nine. Koepka's struggles on the opening hole highlighted how the high grass and wind punished errant shots. Despite his own errors, McIlroy managed to finish under par. "I hung in there, shot under par, and at least don't feel like I'm out of the tournament," he admitted. He added, "A good day tomorrow gets me right back in it."
Shane Lowry provided a local perspective on the day's difficulty. According to ESPN, Lowry finished at 67 and remained bogey-free on the back nine. He was tied with Shaun Norris. Lowry faced the same darkness issues as others, noting, "I honestly didn't think we were going to get finished." That's probably the longest round of golf I ever played, in a three-ball, anyway. I'm happy with my score."I felt like I did a solid job of making pars and trying to get to the clubhouse as quick as I could," he explained his strategy, saying. Meanwhile, Adrian Meronk was at 3 under but unable to finish before darkness fell. Patrick Reed shot 68 in the challenging conditions.
The gap between McIlroy and Niemann is significant but not insurmountable. Four shots is a manageable deficit in a four-round event, provided the weather cooperates. McIlroy's ability to recover from the bunker disaster

Patriots news: Dre'Mont Jones grabs attention with NSFW shot at Seahawks appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Dre'Mont Jones made sure New England Patriots fans had something to talk about. That's even after a brutal opening-night defeat to his former team. Following the Patriots' 13-10 Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Jones took to Instagram. He posted an in-game photograph of himself driving Seattle QB Sam Darnold into the turf. The outside linebacker made the message unmistakable by tagging an account handle reading @f***_the_seahawks in the bottom-right corner of the post. The NSFW jab quickly spread across social media.
Jones spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with Seattle after signing a three-year contract. However, his tenure ultimately ended with friction before he landed in New England. Now a key piece of Mike Vrabel's Patriots defense, Jones appears to have plenty of unfinished business with his former team. His latest post made that abundantly clear.
The Patriots' 0–1 start already carries plenty of frustration. New England's defense dominated for much of the opener. They limited Seattle and knocked Darnold from the game. However, the offense collapsed late as Drake Maye threw three second-half interceptions. The Patriots also lost prized wide receiver AJ Brown to an ankle injury. That added another concern to an otherwise highly anticipated campaign. With Christian Gonzalez recently securing a record-setting four-year extension, expectations remain high in Foxborough. New England now gets an extended mini-bye before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, Jones has added another spark to a rivalry that suddenly feels far from settled.

Nuggets news: Nikola Jokic gets brutally honest about frustration with popularity appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is widely considered one of the best basketball players in the world, but he doesn't like his popularity. The three-time MVP recently spoke about how people treat him in public because of his fame as an NBA star, in comments on the Jao Mile Podcast.
While he understands his popularity, he admits it can sometimes be annoying.
"I miss it so much. I'm getting more and more bothered by popularity. This is going to sound corny, but, I'm getting ruder to people who approach me. Honestly, it's tiring…Some people around me know, I don't take pictures because it's my time. I'll sound rude again, but what can I do? If people can't understand me, I understand everything, but it's been 11-12 years and enough is enough. I feel better when someone tells me something, like you come to the zoo and take a picture of something."

Brian Kelly was let go as the head coach of the LSU Tigers football program in the middle of last season after he failed to find the sort of success either he or the university envisioned when he came to Baton Rouge after a long stint as the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In the first game of the Lane Kiffin era, the Tigers dominated the Clemson Tigers from start to finish, winning 51-10. After being asked about his thoughts on the game in a video call with College Sports on SiriusXM, Kelly was brutally honest about his feelings.
"I'll be honest, I had a hard time watching it, "Kelly admitted, "but I don't think it was just LSU. It was just the first weekend truly of college football, and it was hard. Like, you know, you've been doing it for, you know, 35 years, and not to be part of that process— uh, my wife, she wanted to kill me. She's like, " What's wrong with you?' And what was wrong was that I wasn't on the sideline, and it was, you know, I had to deal with it and, and, and get through it.
"But, you know, there's no mistake. LSU looked great. And, you know, obviously it's a little bit of both, right? Was Clemson maybe not as good as we thought? And certainly LSU was, was on fire, and that showed in the game. So props, props to LSU. They played great."
As tough a time as he might've had watching the Tigers from afar, Kelly did admit that he thought they had a championship-caliber defense.

Over the past few days, several national college football publications and websites have released power ranking lists for all 138 FBS college football teams following Week 0 and Week 1 of the 2026 college football season. None of these sites have been particularly kind to Rutgers following their season-opening 37-21 loss to UMass, with almost all of them dropping the Scarlet Knights by double-digit rankings. The most brutal of these sites was The Athletic, which dropped Rutgers 57 spots from 79 to 136.
First off, the ******* le of the article is "Re-ranking 138 college football teams after Week 1: LSU starts on top, Rutgers hits a new low"- not a fun start by any means. The rest of the parts of the article that mention Rutgers aren't much better.
"The most shocking win was, of course, UMass' 37-21 victory at Rutgers, ending a 16-game losing streak and 23-game Football Bowl Subdivision losing streak. For that, the Minutemen rise to No. 100. It's the first time since early in the 2025 season that UMass is not ranked last, and it's the first time in 10 years of these rankings that UMass is inside the top 100. The Minutemen's previous high was No. 102 late in the 2018 season. Congrats to UMass," said Athletic writer Chris Vannini in the article.
"Rutgers falls all the way to No. 136 for that blowout loss to UMass, which wasn't as close as the 16-point final margin would indicate. This is the new lowest position for a Power 4 team in 10 years of these rankings," said Athletic writer Chris Vannini in the article.
While Rutgers' performance against UMass is inexcusable and has put the Knights in the same ranking bracket as teams like Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, Utah State and Charlotte in the eyes of the Athletic. While Rutgers' loss to UMass is an incredibly tough pill to swallow, being rated in the bottom three teams in the country still seems a little low. Even a terrible Big Ten team should be able to stay out of there.

BERLIN (AP) — The Swiss federal intelligence service on Thursday published a 200-page dossier on the notorious ******* war criminal Josef Mengele, the German doctor known as the "Angel of Death" for conducting horrific medical experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz.
During World War II, Mengele served at the Auschwitz extermination camp in ******* -occupied Poland, where about 1.1 million people were killed, approximately 1 million of them Jews. He became infamous for carrying out brutal medical experiments on inmates, including children, under the guise of scientific research.
After the war, Mengele obtained a Red Cross travel document under a false identity, allowing him to leave Europe. Like many former ******* officials, he spent years in hiding in Latin America while being pursued internationally for his crimes. He drowned in 1979 while swimming on the coast of Brazil.
The documents released by Swiss authorities include material provided to police suggesting that Mengele may have returned to Switzerland after initially fleeing Germany, or may have been planning to enter the country under a false name, according to the German news agency dpa.
Historians seeking to establish whether Mengele spent time in Switzerland while being pursued as a war criminal, without Swiss authorities catching him, had long sought access to the files.

Shortly after halftime of their Week 1 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots extended their lead to 10-0 and looked to be in a great position to coast to a victory. The Seahawks had lost starting quarterback Sam Darnold to injury, and although the New England offense didn't look great, Seattle had done very little in the first half.
However, the game shifted near the end of the third quarter when the Seahawks cut the lead to 10-3, and the start of the fourth quarter signaled a stretch so brutal that one of its magnitude hasn't been seen in 30 years.
Here's a look at the fourth quarter in a possession-by-possession breakdown:
Patriots: 6 plays, 23 yards - ends in an interception
Seahawks: 5 plays, 67 yards - touchdown

49ers' brutal Week 1 statistic highlights how bad their recent draft classes have been originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The San Francisco 49ers are entering their Week 1 matchup overseas against the Los Angeles Rams with a few key players out due to injury.
But to make matters worse, Alfred Collins sustained a season-ending injury while the team was already in Australia, and they will now be down another key early draft pick.
Collins' injury prompted Josh Dubow of The ******* ociated Press to share an absolutely brutal statistic for the 49ers in Week 1. Somehow, from 2020 through 2025, the 49ers will have just one player drafted in the first two rounds active Thursday night.
"Renardo Green will be the only 49ers player drafted by the team in the first or second round from 2020-25 active for the season opener," Dubow reports.
