AS Monaco forward Folarin Balogun (25) is now all set for a switch to Everton after the USMNT forward reached an agreement on personal terms with the Premier League club, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Monaco have been open to selling the USMNT forward all summer. The former ***** nal man had an excellent campaign last time around and significantly bolstered his value. His value was enhanced further thanks to his performances for the USMNT at the FIFA World Cup. He was one of three players earmarked for an exit at the start of the summer alongside Maghnes Akliouche and Lamine Camara. The sale of Aladji Bamba to Newcastle United could allow Monaco to retain the latter.
However, unlike Camara, Balogun was keen to leave the Principality club. ASM, meanwhile, moved early in the window to secure his replacement in the form of Matthis Abline. By freeing up a non-EU spot, Monaco will also be able to finalise the arrival of Erik Lira.
An agreement between Monaco and Everton was struck on Monday night. The deal is worth a fixed fee of €45m plus an extra €5m in bonuses. An agreement has now been reached with Balogun himself. The former ***** nal forward is set to sign with the Merseyside club for four years. He has now been authorised to travel for a medical.

At the dawn of another Ligue 1 season, the divide between PSG and the rest has never been so wide. Les Parisiens, in the wake of their maiden Champions League triumph, weren't expected to be challenged. Lens, in that sense, surprised many. Another challenge, either from Les Sang et Or or from elsewhere, would be welcomed but does not necessarily look forthcoming; the perception of PSG's invincibility has only been enhanced by their second consecutive UCL **** le.
Already the best side in the division, the best in Europe, the best team in French football history, PSG exist on an entirely different plane. They have the best starting XI in world football, and their transfer business attests to that, with the second string now the subject of Luís Campos' attention. The likes of Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche, and Mika Godts look to be upgrades on Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in, and Randal Kolo Muani. These are the types of players that will be regularly trotted out in Ligue 1, allowing the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, etc., to save their best performances for those nights under the lights in the UCL.
All the while, the rest of Ligue 1 has, by and large, regressed. Marseille – at the time of writing – have yet to register a single recruit. Hamstrung by restrictions imposed by the DNCG and UEFA, they have been in fire-sale mode. They are guaranteed to begin the season weaker than they ended the last, regardless of what happens in the closing days of the transfer window.
They aren't the only ones. Lens have an Icarus-like quality to them, having run PSG close for the **** le and won their maiden Coupe de France **** le. A little too close to the sun, a little too much success, and they have come crashing down. Pierre Sage has left, as have Adrien Thomasson, Mamadou Sangaré, Malang Sarr, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Welsey Said. Les Sang et Or aren't building from Ground Zero, but the backbone of last season's side has been broken. A replication of last season's success would be miraculous.

Bradley Barcola has been left out of another Paris Saint-Germain squad as the France international continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool and ****** nal. The 23-year-old was not involved in PSG's victory over Aston Villa in the Super Cup or the defeat to Lens in the French Super Cup and has been left out of Luis Enrique's 21-man squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Rennes.

Barcola has played a role in PSG's back-to-back Champions League ****** les under Enrique but faces an uncertain future after the European champions strengthened their attack this summer. Paris Saint-Germain enter the season with the expectation that they should lift their sixth Ligue 1 ******* le in a row. However, this week hasn't been ideal preparation for the campaign. On Sunday, a defeat to RC Lens in the Trophée des Champions was followed by the news that the Parc des Princes was unusable for their opening game against Stade de Rennais, meaning this match would have to take place in Rennes.
Luis Enrique would be without Nuno Mendes for this game due to his suspension after he picked up a red card in the loss to Lens. This meant that summer signing Lucas Digne would be back in the starting line-up for tonight.
L'Équipe expects that Digne will be alone among the new recruits, with the rest of the high-profile summer signings: Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts, and Ferran Torres on the bench.

Lens stunned Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-0 victory in the Trophée des Champions, securing their first silverware of the new domestic campaign despite playing much of the contest with 10 men.
PSG started on the front foot and controlled the ball, but Lens gradually grew into the contest. The hosts then struck against the run of play in the 32nd minute, with Florian Thauvin arriving at the far post to convert Matthieu Udol's delivery.
Lens' advantage was short on numbers, however, as Kyllian Antonio was dismissed six minutes before the interval for a dangerous challenge on Maghnes Akliouche. PSG almost took advantage immediately, but Désiré Doué saw his effort come back off the crossbar.
Luis Enrique's side continued to dominate possession after the restart but struggled to turn it into clear openings. Ousmane Dembélé tested Robin Risser, while Nuno Mendes also went close from distance as Lens remained disciplined.
The Parisians' hopes of finding a late leveller suffered another blow when Mendes was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident involving Michal Skoras in the closing stages.

Lens overcame a first-half red card for defender Kyllian Antonio to battle to a 1-0 win over Paris St Germain in the Trophée des Champions at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
Captain Florian Thauvin had given Lens, who won the Coupe de France for the first time last season, the lead against the run of play in the 32nd minute.
Antonio was then shown a straight red card after his late challenge on Maghnes Akliouche six minutes before the break.
European champions PSG – who lifted the Super Cup on Wednesday night after victory against Aston Vila in Salzburg – saw a late equalizer from Fabian Ruiz ruled out for offside before substitute Nuno Mendes was also sent off with four minutes left for lashing out at Michal Skoras.

Tonight, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are set to take on Coupe de France winners RC Lens in the French curtain-raiser. Luis Enrique's PSG have already collected one trophy this week, beating Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup.
Nuno Mendes picked up a knock during the match against Villa on Wednesday, and should be replaced in the line-up by new signing Lucas Digne. The France international was left on the bench against his former team, but will likely be handed his debut tonight.
Yesterday, PSG completed a double signing for Ferran Torres from Barcelona and Mika Godts from Ajax. Of the two, Godts could debut off the bench, while L'Équipe writes that Torres will be rested and has been left out of the matchday squad.

Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola has dragged on long enough to invite doubt, noise and the usual transfer-window nonsense. Strip that away and the position looks fairly clear. Liverpool want the player, the player wants Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain may finally be approaching the point where keeping him becomes less important than cashing in at the right price.
That is the crux of the latest update, with credit to Ben Jacobs on GiveMeSport's Market Madness podcast. The key line remains unchanged: "Liverpool feel they've got that Barcola buy-in, so the only way someone else is going to beat Liverpool in Liverpool's eyes, at least, and I stress that's Liverpool's sources' perspective, is if they get completely outbid and then back away."
That matters because it frames this as a deal Liverpool believe they can still control. **** nal may admire Barcola, and plenty of elite clubs will keep an eye on any forward of this level, but admiration is cheap. Convincing the player is harder, and by all accounts Liverpool think they have done that part already.
The real development is not on Merseyside, it is in Paris. PSG are reshaping their attacking options, and once clubs start stockpiling players in the same area of the pitch, priorities change. As Jacobs explained, "And now, what is the domino or three dominoes really is Maghnes Akliouche coming in from Monaco, Ferran Torres coming in from Barcelona, plus the fact that Mika Godts is expected to join from Ajax. That's three attack-minded players, and suddenly PSG have more urgency to sell Barcola. So Liverpool have been playing a waiting game in order to see whether that 170 million euro price drops. Now PSG are about to add two more editions on top of Akliouche."
That is where this starts to look less like wishful thinking and more like sensible timing. Liverpool were never likely to sprint into a €170 million, £145m, agreement unless they had no alternative. They have already spent heavily in recent windows, and no serious club keeps throwing £100m-plus fees around without calculating the consequences. Waiting for market pressure to build on PSG was logical.

After Maghnes Akliouche, who arrived from AS Monaco earlier this week, Paris Saint-Germain made official this Sunday evening the signing of another French international: Lucas Digne.
The 33-year-old full-back is making his big return to the French capital, exactly ten years after leaving it. Aston Villa will receive around €7 million for the transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Digne leaves Aston Villa four years after joining from Everton. After winning the Europa League last season, he is now joining another European champion club.
A curious quirk of the schedule: he could play in the UEFA Super Cup against his former team this Wednesday, as his first training session with PSG is scheduled for this Monday.
During his first spell at PSG, Lucas Digne won Ligue 1 twice, the Trophée des Champions three times, the Coupe de la Ligue twice, and the Coupe de France once.

Liverpool want to sign a record-breaking star and they're at the front of the queue to do so.
Liverpool's attack needs an injection of energy from the wing after a season in which they struggled badly to stretch teams. The Reds didn't have the pace dynamism to attack from wide areas, nor were they good enough on the counter-attack, and it has them shopping for new talent this summer.
Yan Diomande was the priority, of course, but he's now signed for Real Madrid. Now it's Bradley Barcola heading the shortlist - and the Reds are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain about a move.
But that's not all. Reports broke this week that Ibrahim Mbaye was wanted at Anfield and now it appears that they've gone straight to the front of the queue.
L'Equipe reports that both Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are pushing hardest to sign Mbaye right now. The winger is fully expected to move somewhere this summer, especially after PSG completed a deal for Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco.

Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Monaco for the signing of playmaker Maghnes Akliouche, the Press **** ociation understands.
Champions League holders PSG have tracked France international Akliouche all summer, but after multiple bids were rejected by their Ligue 1 rivals, Liverpool made an enquiry for the 24-year-old earlier in July to provide competition in the battle for the left-footed attacker's signature.
However, an agreement has finally been struck between PSG and Monaco for the services of Akliouche, who will depart for a fee in the region of €50 million ($57.4 million).
Akliouche will leave Monaco after 51 goal involvements in 139 appearances for his boyhood club.
The arrival of Akliouche at PSG may spark a domino effect in the transfer window and could allow Bradley Barcola to leave Parc des Princes amid interest from Liverpool.

PSG have no interest in making a move for AFC Bournemouth winger Rayan (19), according to Le Parisien. The Brazilian international was rumoured to be of interest for the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners, but those rumours have been quashed by the Ligue 1 champions. PSG had an interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé, but the Ivory Coast international appears destined to join José Mourinho's Real Madrid side.
More movement is expected for PSG to bolster Luis Enrique's attacking options until the end of the summer transfer window. Les Parisiens have reached a €50m agreement with Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco to sign Maghnes Akliouche. The versatile France international is expected to replace Lee Kang-in – who joined Atlético de Madrid in a €40m move – and bring competition for the right-winger to Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola.
However, the latter could be sold with Liverpool expressing an interest. The Reds are expected to submit a bid to PSG. Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 champions also need a back-up striker after parting ways with Gonçalo Ramos. 2026 World Cup winner Ferran Torres and Belgium's Charles De Ketelaere are billed as the favourites to bring depth.

In a recent report, Sky Sports stated that Liverpool have launched a move for Monaco playmaker Maghnes Akliouche. It has been mentioned that the Reds are facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the France international this off-season.
Akliouche enjoyed a good run of form at the French club after he produced a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 24-year-old registered seven goals and earned 11 **** ists in 43 matches for Monaco last season across all fronts.
The French talent is currently among the best wide players in Ligue 1. Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are hoping to get a deal done for him later this year.
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Liverpool have taken an early step in their search for attacking reinforcements, with Sky Sports reporting that the club “have made an initial approach” to Monaco regarding Maghnes Akliouche.
The enquiry is understood to have centred on the potential availability of the 24-year-old France international, who is also attracting serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain. According to the same report, PSG regard Akliouche as a “prime target” and have already submitted multiple bids, the latest believed to be around £34m, all of which have been rejected by Monaco.
Liverpool’s admiration for French attacking talent has been well established in recent weeks. Bradley Barcola has featured prominently in discussions, with strong suggestions that he remains a leading option. Michael Olise has also been mentioned externally. Yet it is Akliouche who now appears to have prompted concrete movement from Anfield.
That matters. In a market where many clubs are still positioning themselves, an initial approach often signals more than casual background checks. It does not guarantee a bid or formal negotiations, but it shows Liverpool are actively ***** sing whether a deal is achievable, both financially and structurally.
Akliouche’s profile will appeal for several reasons. He is comfortable on the right, can operate across the forward line, and has shown the kind of technical quality that makes him attractive to clubs chasing high-upside attackers. He also impressed in Monaco’s 3-1 win over PSG in March, a match watched by Liverpool scouts, contributing a goal and an ***** ist.

Liverpool are in the market to sign an attacker this summer, with the Reds having brought in winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna already but clearly in need of more given last season's squad shortcomings and the departure of legend Mohamed Salah at the end of the 2025-26 season.
With that in mind, today 24-year-old Monaco right winger and attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche found himself added to the list of potential targets, with Sky's Lyall Thomas first claiming that Liverpool had made an approach for the French international and World Cup bench option.
However, while that news was quickly confirmed by club-connected reporters, it appears likely that this transfer saga might not get past the enquiry stage. At least according to The Echo's Ian Doyle, Liverpool kicked the tires back before the World Cup kicked off—and haven't yet returned.
Whether that means the Reds were quoted a price they didn't consider reasonable or if Akliouche is simply one of many potential targets and not actually near the top of the list, then, today's news feels like old news coming to light more than a revelation of a deal currently in the works.
Liverpool's top wing target to replace Salah had been Yan Diomande before the RB Leipzig winger signalled that his preferred destination was Paris Saint-Germain, and since then most of the focus has been on PSG's Bradley Barcola but with little real new news on that front in some time.

Ian Doyle clarified that the approach to the Monaco star in question occurred earlier in the summer transfer window amid the Reds' search to bolster the right flank.
The Merseysiders are currently believed to be prioritising a move for PSG's Bradley Barcola.
Andoni Iraola's side is still very much in the hunt for a new winger, but it seems that interest in Akliouche is not as advanced as first thought.

Borussia Dortmund have made an enquiry about Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye (18), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Mbaye has accrued plenty of international experience in recent months. Since committing to Senegal, he has played in the Africa Cup of Nations and also scored in the FIFA World Cup. Prior to heading to AFCON in the winter, Mbaye was featuring regularly, but his gametime decreased upon his return from the tournament.
He has been playing a bit-part role under Luis Enrique, and with the European champions pursuing a deal for Maghnes Akliouche, that may not change next season. As a result, Mbaye wants to leave the club, despite his entourage attempting to dissuade him from making such a decision, Foot Mercato understands.
Much of the interest comes from the Premier League, with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur cited as suitors. However, Borussia Dortmund have now also made an enquiry in recent days.
