On September 10, Tsakos Energy Navigation (NYSE:TEN) reported a first half of 2026 that reads like a fantasy year for a decades-old tanker operator. Net income hit $228 million, more than triple what the company earned over the same six months a year earlier, while diluted EPS climbed to $7.12 from $1.70. Behind those numbers sits a rare combination: a fleet locked into billions in forward earnings, war-driven cargo detours pushing rates higher, and a newbuilding bet that has already paid off before half the ships have even hit the water.
The earnings power came from two directions at once. The average time charter equivalent rate rose 41% to $43,503 a day in the first half, and profit-sharing contracts on nine large vessels brought in $71 million, up from just $10 million a year earlier. Even with six vessels pulled from service for scheduled dry docks, the fleet still ran at 96.5% utilization. Second-quarter results followed the same pattern, with net income of $139.3 million, which included a $38 million gain on ******* et sales, and earnings per share of $4.40 against $0.67 in last year's second quarter.
Tsakos is also sitting on a fleet renewal bet that already worked out. Since the start of 2023, the company has sold 20 tankers averaging 17.3 years old and replaced them with 35 vessels averaging just half a year old. Its 26-ship newbuilding program, contracted for about $3.1 billion, is now valued roughly 30% above that cost, and CEO Nikolas Tsakos said the VLCCs in that order book have nearly doubled in price since they were placed. With $466 million in cash and forward committed earnings of roughly $3.5 billion, management has room to raise its dividend, which already paid out $1.60 per share this year, and is weighing whether to redeem $120 million of 9.25% preferred shares, a move it estimates could add $0.30 to $0.40 to EPS.
That performance came against a backdrop the company would rather not have. President George Saroglou said vessels have been attacked, and seafarers hurt or killed trying to keep global trade moving through the Strait of Hormuz, where a ceasefire unraveled roughly halfway through its planned 60-day run and a US naval presence now tries to manage safe passage. Tsakos has chosen to route around the strait entirely rather than put crews through the toll those attacks take.
The cost side is climbing too. Bunker prices jumped about 25%, pushing first-half voyage expenses to $82 million from $68 million, and operating expenses rose to $111 million from $102 million on higher dry-docking costs and inflation. Total debt reached $2.1 billion at the end of June, up from $1.8 billion a year earlier, as the company finances its newbuilding program. And while profit-sharing revenue jumped, the operating days tied to those market-related contracts actually fell 22%, meaning a smaller slice of the fleet is left exposed to capture further spot-rate gains if the tanker market keeps running hot.

NEW YORK (AP) — Oprah Winfrey stood alone at the Sphere, attempting to comprehend what she had witnessed after U2's opening night performance in 2023. Mesmerized by the multisensory event, the Queen of All Media had a thought: Could she use the groundbreaking, 4D capabilities of the globe-shaped arena to help others reach their highest potential?
"You could use this technology as a visual, immersive experience to allow people to go deeper for themselves and walk away with a sense of awe and wonder about what it means to be alive," the media mogul, whose empire was built largely by inspiring viewers of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," told The ****** ociated Press. "I know that there's more, and the more could really help people see themselves differently. It has the potential to be an incredible experience of magnificent wonder."
That initial thought became "Oprah Winfrey's AHA," taking place April 2-4 at the Sphere, the $2.3 billion state-of-the-art Las Vegas arena that has hosted performances by The Backstreet Boys, Phish, the Eagles and No Doubt — and a popular "The Wizard of Oz" film experience.
The two-hour live event will feature Winfrey with special guests and performances, including multiple Grammy winner Jacob Collier, poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps. Among all-star collaborators crafting the experience with Winfrey are Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter, Grammy-nominated musicians Jason White and Jon Hopkins, playwright and MacArthur "genius grant" recipient Tarell Alvin McCraney and Es Devlin, the stage designer for Beyoncé's "Formation" and "Renaissance" world tours. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 25.
It's been 15 years since Winfrey ended her iconic talk show, which last week celebrated its 40th anniversary of reaching U.S. syndication. She has stayed busy with her podcast, her CEO duties for her namesake OWN TV network, and various tours and live events. At 72, when many are embracing retirement, Winfrey isn't ready to slow down completely.

India's next Test **** ignment will take them to New Zealand for a two-match series beginning November 19, and former Kiwi fast bowler Trent Boult believes KL Rahul will be one of the Indian batters worth watching closely.

The two Tests will form part of India's marathon New Zealand tour, which begins on October 22 and features 12 matches across the three formats. With India needing a strong result to remain in contention for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, the spotlight is expected to fall on several key players, including captain Shubman Gill and pace spearhead Jasprit **** rah.

Boult, however, has picked Rahul and his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal as the two Indian batters he is particularly looking forward to seeing in action.

"I'm always a big fan of KL Rahul and his style of batsmanship. So he's a big player at the top of the order for the Indian side. And yeah, I believe Jaiswal is there as well. Two classy batters to see bat. So yeah, be interesting to see," Boult said in an interview to PTI.
The timing of the series could make conditions particularly interesting. Unlike India's previous Test tours of New Zealand, which have often taken place in the February-March window, this series will be played in late October and November.

Boult feels the timing could bring colder weather into play, while he is hoping the New Zealand pitches retain some grass and offer **** istance to the home attack.

"It's always an exciting chance when the Indian team comes down to play Test cricket in New Zealand," Boult said.

"The only thing I can see happening is it's going to be late October. I believe, just coming out of winter. So it's going to be quite cold. Hopefully, there's a bit of greenness in the wickets for some of our bowlers. It's going to be a good series, I'm sure," the star former Kiwi pacer added.
Boult also backed the current New Zealand bowling unit to make an impact against India, pointing to the variety available to the team.

Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Nathan Smith and Will O'Rourke bring different qualities to the attack, and Boult believes that gives New Zealand enough options to develop its own identity.

"I think the bowling is very well balanced. It's got bases covered in terms of a good pace, obviously, with Will O'Rourke. Obviously, a bit of swing and a bit of bounce from Kyle Jamieson and Matt Henry with his accuracy.

"So yeah, I think the way me, Tim (Southee) and Wags (Neil Wagner) did it over the years was a unique way in itself. But there's other strengths and other game plans that our younger bowlers can follow," Boult further said.

Most college golfers spend four years grinding on the mini-tours, hoping for a single shot at the big leagues. Tyler Jones just got that shot without waiting a single day. The reigning Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Year has secured a sponsor exemption to the PGA Tour's inaugural Biltmore Championship. This marks a historic moment for Western Carolina University golf, as Jones becomes the first active Catamount to compete in a PGA Tour event, breaking a barrier that has stood for decades.
The details of this opportunity are specific and significant. According to the official release from catamountsports.com, Explore Asheville and Biltmore Estate granted the exemption. Three tournament victories during a breakthrough 2025-26 campaign earned Jones this spot. His standout performance came at the J.T. Poston Invitational, where he claimed an individual ***** le at the Waynesville Inn & Golf Club. Scheduled for Sept. 17-20 at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course, the event itself is set there. For the first time since 1942, this tournament marks the PGA Tour's return to the mountains of western North Carolina. Coverage will be extensive, featuring Golf Channel, PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, SiriusXM, and the PGA TOUR World Feed. Jones will also share the field with Western Carolina alumnus J.T. Poston, a four-time PGA Tour winner. That connection creates a full-circle moment for the program as it rises on the national stage.
The emotional weight of this achievement is clear in the words of the program leadership. Head coach Tim Eckberg, who is also an alumnus, spoke directly to the significance of the moment. "This is a massive day for Tyler and for Catamount golf," Eckberg said. He added that the opportunity fills him with pride, noting that the success stems from what J.T. Poston has accomplished and the hard work the current young men continue to put in. The coach emphasized that the program is finally being recognized for opportunities that were previously out of reach. Eckberg also highlighted the broader impact on the student-athlete. "He represents WCU exceptionally well as a student-athlete," the coach stated. "Tyler is an incredible talent, and he showed that throughout last season," Eckberg noted, adding that "His game is ready for this next challenge." The program also extended gratitude to the sponsors who made this possible. "A huge thank you goes to Biltmore and Explore Asheville for believing in Tyler and our program," the coach said. This support validates the years of development within the Catamount system.
From an insider perspective, this exemption signals a shift in how the Tour integrates local talent with regional events. The Biltmore Championship Asheville is designed to bridge the gap between the collegiate level and the professional tour in a specific geographic market. By bringing in a local star like Jones, the organizers ensure that the narrative of the tournament includes the very commu

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has drawn up a roadmap to address India's recent overseas setbacks, mounting player injuries and preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup, with secretary Devajit Saikia revealing details of Thursday's high-level review meeting in Mumbai.

The meeting, attended by head coach Gautam Gambhir, Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, T20I captain Shreyas Iyer and Centre of Excellence director VVS Laxman, reviewed India's recent tours of Ireland and England as well as the team's preparations for the next phase of the international calendar.

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar was absent, but Saikia said there was no controversy behind his non-participation and insisted no discussion took place about his future.
Saikia strongly rejected suggestions of a communication gap between the team management and the Centre of Excellence, particularly after several high-profile injury setbacks.

"Everybody is on the same page. BCCI is working in a very well like a well oiled engine," Saikia told reporters.

"There is proper coordination amongst all the wings of BCCI, whether it is women's teams committees or their technical staff or their coaches, vis-a-vis the COE, vis-a-vis the Indian men's team's coaching staff and the head coach. There is no difficulty in the coordination, everything is moving in the right direction."

However, he admitted that the frequency of injuries remains a major concern and said the board intends to address it through changes to the next Future Tours Programme (FTP).

"The only challenge which we are facing is that there are too many matches in the year and that is why in the next FTP we will do certain things, we will take certain measures."

The proposed changes will particularly affect preparation for tours to SENA countries — South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia.

"We have instructed our FTP persons who will be meeting very soon in various international forums that our FTP should be in such a way it should be scheduled that there is proper rest for the players as well as some kind of acclimatisation or some kind of friendly matches before any major series in SENA countries," Saikia said.

The comments come after India suffered a difficult run in overseas white-ball cricket, losing 0-2 to Ireland in the T20Is before a 1-4 defeat to England in the five-match series. India also lost the ODI series in England 1-2.
Saikia acknowledged India's shortcomings and said the review meeting focused on understanding why the team had struggled.

"We discussed (about) our team performed in England and Ireland and also about what we are going to do about the next one year. The road map has been prepared and we will be doing some exercises so that we have a very good performance in 2027 (ODI) World Cup," he said.

"Yes, we did not do well. We lost matches in Ireland and England, so we wanted to know what the reasons were. We have to do certain soul searching about that

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia on Thursday cleared the air over chief selector Ajit Agarkar's absence from the board's review meeting, while dismissing speculation about changes to the senior men's selection committee.

Agarkar was not present at the meeting, which focused on India's recent performances and the team's preparations for a packed international calendar leading up to the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Saikia explained that Agarkar was out of station when the meeting was called at short notice and was unable to join virtually because he was in an area with poor connectivity.

"Today he (Agarkar) was out of station, so he could not be a part of the meeting. Because this meeting was called at very short notice and our head of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, was not in town, he could not join it, and he was in such an area that he could not join online also, despite our best efforts," Saikia told to reporters after the meeting.
Saikia also rejected reports suggesting that Agarkar's tenure could be coming to an end or that the BCCI was considering changes to the senior men's selection committee.

"There was no such discussion on this in today's meeting. I do not comment on new rumours. We did not have any such discussions, nor did we have such intentions," he said.

The BCCI secretary also ruled out any discussion about appointing a director of cricket for the men's team. According to Saikia, the meeting was primarily focused on reviewing India's performances on recent tours and mapping out preparations for the next phase of the international calendar.

"There was no discussion on the selection committee. Our whole focus was on performances in England and Ireland, as well as the recent Test series in Sri Lanka and what we are going to do in the upcoming series before the ODI World Cup, which is our ultimate goal," he said.

The meeting, Saikia clarified, was not about deciding individual player selections or fixing format-wise combinations.

"We have not discussed all these things regarding the team selection, team combination, who will be playing in what format. For that, selectors will take a call. Today, the selectors were not part of the discussion. So when the selectors meet to select the team for the West Indies series, as well as thereafter for the New Zealand series, they will consider whatever parameters are to be considered by them," concluded Saikia.
India face a packed schedule over the next several months, with the team set to play Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series before the Asian Games in ****** an later this month. The West Indies will then tour India for three ODIs and five T20Is, followed by a demanding multi-format tour of New Zealand featuring two Tests, five ODIs and five T20Is.

India will subsequently host Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is before facing Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series in January 2027. The marquee ****** ignment will be the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy again

Mumbai/New Delhi: The future of Rohit Sharma and the shape of India's ODI team for the next World Cup cycle are set to dominate discussions when the BCCI's top brass meets in Mumbai on Thursday for a wide-ranging performance review.

While recent defeats in Ireland, England and Sri Lanka will be ***** sed, board officials are understood to be more concerned about the lack of a clearly defined ODI roadmap at a time when preparations for the 2027 World Cup should be taking shape.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, president Mithun Manhas, head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and Centre of Excellence chief VVS Laxman will attend the meeting, with ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill and T20I skipper Shreyas Iyer also expected to be present.

At the centre of the discussions lies the most sensitive issue facing Indian cricket: Rohit's future. Though there is immense respect for the veteran opener's stature and achievements, selectors and members of the team management are increasingly aware of the need to prepare for a post-Rohit era.

According to sources, one option under consideration is to evaluate Rohit's role on a series-by-series basis rather than committing to a long-term plan through the entire World Cup cycle.

"It's very tough on a young captain like Shubman Gill when there is no clear direction. The dressing-room environment in the ODI team hasn't been the best, especially when it comes to dealing with stalwarts," a BCCI source said.

The uncertainty around Rohit reflects a broader concern. Of India's three national teams, the ODI side is regarded as the least settled. Injuries and workload management have prevented selectors from identifying a stable core, leaving several key positions unresolved.

The fast-bowling allrounder's role remains a particular headache. Hardik Pandya continues on a managed workload programme after recurring fitness issues, while Nitish ***** ar Reddy is yet to receive full clearance following rehabilitation.

"Hardik, at the moment, has been cleared to bowl six overs in a day. Reddy is still to clear his fitness tests. The ODI team doesn't have even half of the core ODI team ready. It has to be a joint effort between the CoE and the team management to zero in on players and formulate a roadmap to get them all on the park as soon as possible," the source said.

The review was initially planned after the Ireland and England tours but was postponed because of the subsequent Sri Lanka ***** ignment. It will now cover India's performances across multiple tours, including Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

India's 2-0 T20I series defeat in Ireland and the 4-0 drubbing in England raised alarm bells, with the 125-run loss at Nottingham viewed internally as one of the team's poorest performances in recent years. Gill's ODI side also lost the England series 2-1.

However, officials insist the exercise will focus on solutions rather than ***** igning blame, with particular emphasis on recurri

Marnus Labuschagne has been left out of Australia's ODI squad for the upcoming tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa, raising more questions about his future in the national team.

The batter had a poor run during Australia's recent ODI series in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Although he finished the Bangladesh campaign with an unbeaten 55 after being moved down the batting order, it was not enough to secure his place.

With Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh returning, Australia's selectors decided to leave Labuschagne out. His omission could also affect his chances of playing in the upcoming three-Test series against South Africa, especially after his disappointing performances against Bangladesh.

The six ODIs against Zimbabwe and South Africa are important for Australia's preparations for the 2027 World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Australia will be led by Mitchell Marsh in Zimbabwe, while Pat ****** mins will join the team for the South Africa leg. ****** mins and Marsh could share captaincy duties depending on ****** mins' workload. Mitchell Starc will return for the South Africa matches, while Josh Hazlewood has been selected for both series.

Australia's ODI squad:Xavier Bartlett, Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Pat ****** mins (SA only), Joel Davies, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Mitchell Marsh, Oliver Peake, Matthew Renshaw, Billy Stanlake, Mitchell Starc (SA only), Adam Zampa.
New South Wales all-rounder Joel Davies has received his first ODI call-up after impressing in the T20I series against Bangladesh. Left-handed batter Ollie Peake has also kept his place.

Australia have added fast bowlers Spencer Johnson and Billy Stanlake. Johnson returns after recovering from a lengthy injury, while Stanlake recently ended a more than seven-year wait for another international appearance.

Cooper Connolly will remain with the ODI squad after his impressive 149 against Bangladesh.

The Zimbabwe series starts on September 15 in Harare, followed by matches on September 18 and 20. Australia will then play South Africa on September 24, 27 and 30.

The Slovenian from UAE Team Emirates had a big lead and was heavily favored to win the **** le to complete a hat trick of cycling's three Grand Tours.
This was Pogačar's 10th Grand Tour and the first he has ever abandoned. He had never finished lower than third place.

Tuniu Corporation's (NASDAQ:TOUR) ADSs closed lower after the company reported its second-quarter results. Net revenue increased 3.0% year over year to RMB138.9 million, while packaged-tour revenue rose 6.8% to RMB121.1 million as organized tours continued to grow.
However, cost of revenue increased 27.9% to RMB62.5 million, substantially outpacing the top line. Gross profit declined 11.1% to RMB76.4 million, and gross margin contracted to 55.0% from 63.8%. Tuniu consequently swung to a RMB6.1 million operating loss from RMB7.1 million of operating income a year earlier.
Packaged-tour growth indicates that demand for Tuniu's core travel products remains intact. The company has been expanding small-group, private and customized tour offerings in response to demand for more personalized and flexible travel options.
Tuniu also remained marginally profitable below the operating line. GAAP net income attributable to ordinary shareholders was RMB0.7 million. Company-defined non-GAAP net income attributable to ordinary shareholders was RMB2.2 million after excluding share-based compensation and amortization of acquired intangible **** ets.
Liquidity provides additional room to absorb uneven travel demand. Tuniu ended June with approximately RMB1.0 billion in cash and cash equivalents, restricted cash, short-term investments, and long-term deposits. Management said during the earnings call that Tuniu generated RMB46.9 million of operating cash flow while recording RMB1.4 million of capital expenditures.

College students spend four years planning for what to do once they leave campus, and spend the next 40 years trying to figure how to get back. It's a truism that college administrators and broadcasters would do well to remember as they continue to separate college football from college campuses.
On Saturday, North Carolina will kick off its season against TCU in Dublin, the fifth straight year that Ireland has hosted a Week 0 game. A few weeks later, Arizona State will face Kansas in London's Wembley Stadium.
If you're wondering what the Tarheels and Horned Frogs have to do with the Emerald Isle, or why the Sun Devils will travel halfway around the planet to play football, well, you're asking the right questions. Tadej Pogacar recovered from a brief off-road excursion to outsprint Enric Mas and claim his third victory at this year's Vuelta a Espana, but he was made to fight all the way to the line by the Spaniard on stage six.
After attacking on the final climb and rapidly establishing a handsome lead it looked as though the defending world champion would romp away to a trademark solo victory.
But, as the rest of the main contenders struggled in his slipstream, Movistar's Mas reeled him in and overtook him on the final metres of the climb to claim maximum points in the king of the mountain's classification.
The home rider then initially led down the final descent, at one point gesturing to Pogacar to take it cautiously.
But the six-time Grand Tour winner, who is chasing the Vuelta crown to complete the set with victory in all three of the sport's biggest stage races, having already won five Tours de France and a Giro d'Italia, did not heed the warning.

Revenue increased 3% year over year to RMB 138.9 million, while Tuniu achieved its sixth consecutive quarter of non-GAAP profitability. However, gross profit fell 11% to RMB 76.4 million as expenses rose and demand shifted toward lower-margin self-guided products.
Outbound travel remained a key headwind: transaction volume for Middle East and Africa travel declined more than 20%, reducing outbound tours' share of gross merchandise value to about 30% from over one-third a year earlier. Domestic travel stayed steady, with small-group and private tours showing strong demand.
Tuniu expects third-quarter revenue of RMB 202.1 million to RMB 212.2 million, representing year-over-year growth of 0% to 5%. The company ended June with approximately RMB 1 billion in cash, investments and deposits, while expanding premium, customized and livestream-driven travel offerings.
Tuniu (NASDAQ:TOUR) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue growth and its sixth consecutive quarter of non-GAAP profitability, while management said uncertainty in some outbound travel destinations and a shift toward lower-margin self-guided products affected profitability.

Tom Holland and Zendaya are in the public eye a lot, and oftentimes they are at carpets and events together. This year, they had a whopping two press tours to complete, with both starring in the two biggest movies of the year so far: Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey. Because of this, we sometimes do get tidbits of information about Tom and Zendaya's relationship, but it's not because they are often openly talking about one another.
A short time before the cat was officially out of the bag regarding Zendaya's nuptials to the Spider-man star, she was asked to comment on whether not she was married yet. She was wearing a gold band on her ring finger, so Elle's question didn't feel too pushy. Still, her answer was a polished "no" coupled with a second comment that helps us to understand why she doesn't talk about Tom so often.
No, I'm not going to do that. They're always searching for something.

LIV Golf schedule 2026: Dates, times, TV channels, live streams to watch every tournament originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It's time for season five of LIV Golf, and the breakaway tour will look quite a bit different in 2026.
The most striking change is tournaments will now be 72 holes instead of the 54 that served as the tour's Roman-numeral namesake, putting LIV back on level ground with traditional tours.
LIV also has seen its first major defections, with Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed departing prior to the 2026 season to begin the process of rejoining the PGA Tour. Plenty of top attractions remain, though, led by the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia.
Here's everything you need to know to watch them as the rest of the LIV crew during the 2026 season.

Cycling superstar Tadej Pogačar won the opening stage of the 81st Vuelta/Tour of Spain by the narrowest of margins on Saturday, claiming the red jersey as overall leader for the first time in his career.
The Slovenian edged the short 9.4-kilometre individual time trial in his adopted home of Monaco, beating Britain's Ethan Hayter by nine hundredths of a second.
Pogačar is still missing an overall victory at the Vuelta.
The 27-year-old has dominated cycling in the way Belgian icon Eddy Merckx used to. Pogačar's long list of achievements includes a record-equalling five Tour de France ****** les including in July, two world championship ****** les, victory at the Giro d'Italia and numerous wins in the classics.
At the end of the 3,275-kilometre Vuelta, he wants to stand on the top step of the podium at the finish in Granada. That would mean Pogačar has won all three Grand Tours.

Washington DC has hosted presidential inaugurations, World Series parades and Fourth of July celebrations. Now, IndyCar is coming to the streets of the nation's capital.
The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix will bring open-wheel racing to a temporary 1.66-mile street race winding through downtown D.C. The seven-turn course will guide drivers past some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and several Smithsonian museums.
The race weekend, scheduled for Aug. 22-23, will feature practice, qualifying and the main race, giving fans a chance to see IndyCar drivers navigate a course unlike any other on the series calendar.
The race has already made its presence felt across downtown DC, with road closures and construction weeks underway as crews transform city streets into a temporary racing circuit. Barriers, fencing and other track infrastructure have been installed along the route ahead of race weekend.
For drivers, the circuit will offer little room for error, with tight turns and narrow sections replacing the traffic that normally moves through these streets. For residents and visitors, the race has meant detours and closures across parts of downtown as the District prepares to host its first IndyCar event.

Reacting to the Boston Celtics schedule for the 2026-27 NBA regular season, a few things have come into focus. The league handed Boston one of the toughest schedules (16 back-to-backs!) in the NBA according to some estimates, to start. So while the Celtics may indeed be a better ball club by essentially swapping out Jayson Tatum for Jaylen Brown and adding Mitchell Robinson, they could end the campaign with a worse record.
Add in that November in particular will feature a lot of back-to-back tilts, and there is a natural stretch for developing young players. And that the back half of the season will be brutal. The folks behind the "NBC Sports Boston" YouTube channel put together a clip taking a look at such contours on their "Celtics Talk" podcast.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what hosts Chris Forsberg and Tom Giles had to say about Boston's season to come.

Test cricket returns to Australia's tropical Top End for the first time since 2003 when the hosts face Bangladesh in a two-match series starting Thursday.
The series opener at Marrara Stadium in Darwin marks Bangladesh's first test tour Down Under in over two decades and kicks off a 12-month period of 20 test matches for the Aussies including tours of world test champion South Africa, India and England.
Australia's so-called Big Four could be reunited in the hosts bowling attack with Pat ******* mins, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon returning from injuries.
Pace bowlers ******* mins, Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc and offspinner Lyon have been the longtime front line attack for Australia but injuries have limited the frequency of all four combining in the same XI in recent series.
The inclusion of evergreen pace bowler Scott Boland in the squad, with allrounders Cameron Green and Beau Webster, gives Australia plenty of options with the ball.

Anne Hathaway was spotted outside "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Monday in Los Angeles. GC Images While "The Devil Wears Prada" star's shoes barely peeked out through the hem of her wide-legged trousers, their distinct heels and pointed toe made them instantly recognizable as Aquazzura's Bisous Mules. The circular, wider base of the heel is designed to make the shoes more comfortable to walk in — something of a necessity when you are doing press during a pregnancy. Law Roach debuted a 53-carat diamond ring on his left ring finger at the 2026 Met Gala.
He revealed it was "a gift" from a mystery man, fueling engagement speculation.
An InStyle editor consulted ring experts at LEVIEV to learn more about the showstopping sparkler.
With Zendaya's The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tours, along with Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine tour, keeping him busy this summer, Law Roach has no shortage of headline-making projects. But lately, it's not just the celebrity stylist's work that's generating buzz—it's the dazzling diamond on this left ring finger.
Roach first sparked engagement speculation when he stepped onto the 2026 Met Gala red carpet wearing a 53-carat diamond on that finger. Speaking with Vogue livestream hosts Ashley Graham and Cara Delevingne, he revealed only that the ring was "a gift" from a mystery man in his life, declining to confirm whether it was, in fact, an engagement ring.

The Denver Broncos had a major piece of their new stadium land fall into place on Monday. SRM Concrete and the team came to terms on an undisclosed agreement to purchase about 10 acres of land surrounding Burnham Yard, the preferred site of the Broncos' upcoming stadium, according to Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post.
SRM Concrete was mentioned by name from Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner at the NFL's annual meetings at the end of March as being one of the holdouts in the area in and around Burnham Yard, and one of the largest hurdles to cross before ground can be broken on a new stadium ahead of a projected 2031 opening of a new stadium.
Broncos president Damani Leech recently spoke about developments concerning the stadium, saying the team and the community need to work together to get Burnham Yard ready for the mixed-use development and stadium. Just a week ago, the team shared incredible renderings of what Burnham Yard may look like in the future.
One of the last major dominoes that needs to fall is the relocation of Denver Water, one of the biggest companies still located at Burnham Yard. Conversations surrounding the relocation are still ongoing, and details are still being ironed out.
"We're laser-focused on delivering (the new stadium) by 2031," Leech said earlier this month. "It's been a great effort by ownership, ourselves, the staff, the city. I've got to be honest, I wish we were further along in some areas than we are now. I think areas where we do control, particularly real estate, you mentioned Burnham Yard, real estate, engaging with the community, we've done site tours of the location, the design of the stadium continues to evolve, the master plan continues to evolve."

FC Bayern Munich have announced they will host a Team Day on the FC Bayern Campus in Munich on August 17th. The senior men's and women's teams — both double winners from last season — will return from their Asian tours and have public trainings at the campus. There will also be interactive events that will feature teams made up of three groups — players, content creators, and fans — going up against each other.
2000 tickets have been made available for the event, but if you cannot make it, the 12-hour event will be streamed for free on the teams Twitch and YouTube pages and moderated by the FC Bayern hosts, Lukas and Ersin. The streams will begin at noon local time (6:00 AM Eastern US). The stream will include the live trainings, some of the other events, and behind the scenes content from the event.

First a viral ****** y glasses moment, and now everyone is talking about Andrew Garfield's hair. And I can't say I blame them. Yet it hasn't seem to come up during press tours. Most of the time the actor is fielding questions about Spider-Man. Until now. Someone finally asked Garfield about him growing out his long, luscious locks and I can't get enough of his answer.
Garfield and Claire Foy joined Entertainment Tonight to chat about their upcoming movie The Magic Faraway Tree when the conversation took a turn to his hair. And Foy, speaking for all of us, needed to know what his "updo of choice" is. But I never expected the answer to involve Tom Cruise. As he put it:
I might need an intervention with this. I do a little bit of Last Samurai Tom Cruise. I do a little bit of just pulling up that bit and leaving the rest down.
