Justin Wrobleski was an All-Star this year, but there is about to be no room for him in the Los Angeles Dodgers rotation, despite their implementation of a six-man rotation.
Most teams struggle with using a six-man rotation because it cuts an arm out of the bullpen. That has not been the case for the Dodgers for most of the year because, for one, their starters are elite, and one of them does not count as a pitcher on the roster.
Wrobleski, Tarik Skubal, Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki and Eric Lauer are the Dodgers' current rotation, but Tyler Glasnow is close to returning. Shohei Ohtani is taking steps toward a return as well. Snell, Skubal and Yamamoto are not going anywhere, and Sasaki has been phenomenal after the Dodgers got him a bigger glove and did a deep dive into some of his issues.
When Glasnow and Ohtani are back, Wrobleski and Lauer are the strongest candidates to be ***** ped. Lauer is a no-brainer, as he has experience as a reliever and, despite his success with the Dodgers, is the weakest of the six arms. Wrobleski, however, would be a frontline starter on most teams. They have achieved this with a good amount of injuries/underperformances from key players. On offense, Kyle Tucker and Mookie Betts have been lackluster. For the pitching staff, Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell have missed much of the season with injury.
Snell made his first start back on Tuesday. Now heading into the final quarter of the regular season, the Dodgers received an update on Glasnow's back injury. He is scheduled to make one more rehab start before joining the team next week.

Snow Canyon's 64-62 triple-overtime win over Spanish Fork on Friday night was an absolute barn burner — the definition of an instant classic.

Networking equipment and software provider Arista Networks, Inc. (NYSE:ANET) is one of Cramer's favorite stocks. In fact, as far back as February 2025, the CNBC TV host remarked that going against Arista Networks, Inc. (NYSE:ANET) and its CEO meant an "invitation to your funeral." The shares are up by 49% over the past year and by 52% year-to-date. Over the month, they are up by 11.5% and closed 3.6% higher on August 5th, the day after Arista Networks, Inc. (NYSE:ANET)'s second quarter earnings report. Yet, as the shares dipped on the 6th, Cramer called the move profit taking:
"I was talking to Jayshree Ullal yesterday, for ANET, which is just a fantastic company, had an amazing quarter. And she's on the board of Snowflake. And I just said, no one noticed that Snowflake just goes up and up and up. That's the kind of thing that is coming up for profit taking taking today. As is ANET. As is Arista. And I just say, okay, wait a second, this is a take your breath moment. These companies are all doing really, really well. Or they have, like the long term agreement kind of thing with Western Digital. This is a profit taking thing, Carl. And I think that this is blessed. You want this."

(NYSE:ANET) relies on a few big-tech customers, which might switch to custom products creates risk that might not be reflected through the forward P/E of 46.73.
Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW), on the other hand, is a classic software-as-a-service (SaaS) firm. It enables data management and warehousing. Its data business benefits the firm in today's AI era, as it enables users to use their own data to create AI models. Consequently, Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW)'s net revenue retention (NRR) was 126% in its FY27Q1. Additionally, the firm had 779 customers with trailing 12-month product revenue greater than $1 million in the same quarter. While these figures point towards a robust business, if spending slows due to concerns about AI's returns or if platforms such as DataBricks and Google's BigQuery step up competition, the firm could struggle. For a firm with a forward. P/E of 169, there's little room for error.

Minnesota Democratic Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan pointed the finger at Gov. Tim Walz when asked during a recent interview about her responsibility for the massive fraud scandal that unfolded under their watch.
"I would say, the governor says the buck stops with him, more should have been done sooner, and I agree," Flanagan said on MSNOW on Thursday when asked if she bears any responsibility for the scandal, which federal investigators have said could total more than $9 billion.
Flanagan, who is the Democratic nominee for Senate in Minnesota, continued, "And now we know that 100 people have been charged, 60 have been convicted."
Flanagan's comments sparked pushback on social media from users accusing her of deflecting responsibility given she has served alongside Walz as his second in command since 2019.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) disclosed a holding in Databricks via Forge Investments on March 4, 2024. The investment, made by her husband and venture capitalist Paul Pelosi, was listed as being in a range of $1 million to $5 million.
The Forge Investments website shows a value of $73.50 per share for Databricks and a $43.4 billion valuation for the September 2023 funding round, and, in 2024, around the time the Pelosis invested.
While the exact valuation of the Pelosis' investment is unknown, the stake was likely made near the $43 billion mark.

Ann Arbor — Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham and defensive coordinator Jay Hill have said the defensive line is the strength of the defense heading into this season, but they have also suggested the depth in the secondary is nothing to sleep on.
Returning starters Zeke Berry and Jyaire Hill appear to be set at the corners, while two-time captain Rod Moore, who said he's fully healthy after dealing with multiple knee surgeries since April 2024, and UAB/Memphis transfer Chris Bracy are the safeties. Michigan still has plenty of time left in preseason camp to make determinations at all positions, but the staff is feeling fairly confident about the versatility of the secondary.
"This is the only school I've ever been at where I really believe we could have three great nickels, and I can put different guys in there based on mismatch," Hill told reporters recently. "So Smith Snowden, Zeke Berry, Sug (Hill) … I've never had three interchangeable guys that are so different at that position. It's a fun luxury to have, and I'm kind of excited to see how I come up with how we do it."
There is a versatility required to play nickel requires, and Hill is relishing the options at his disposal as he **** embles his defensive chess board.
"You got to be able to cover man to man," Hill said. "You got to be able to tackle. You got to be very intelligent because we use those guys in a lot of disguises. We use them to blitz. We use them in zone coverages. We use them in man coverages. So those guys really are a real premier spot in this defense, and they got to be pretty adaptable to what we're doing with them."

Glasnow struck out two and allowed a run on one hit and one walk. The run came on a wild pitch in the first inning. Both baserunners against him stole second base, one each in the first two innings, a classic case of a rehabbing pitcher paying almost no attention to baserunners while trying to reach a specific goal.
Glasnow on Sunday averaged 95.9 mph on his 17 four-seam fastballs and induced five swinging strikes in his outing, starting on four days rest for the first time since July 23, 2025 with the Dodgers.
On Tuesday for Class-A Ontario, Glasnow needed only 16 pitches to complete two frames, and manager Dave Roberts told reporters that day at Wrigley Field in Chicago that Glasnow completed a third simulated inning in the bullpen following that first rehab start.
The plan is for Glasnow to stretch out to at least four innings before the Dodgers make a determination of his readiness to return to the major league rotation. His last start for the Dodgers was May 6, out the last three months with back spasms.

One of the most important tenets of building out a roster is to know the store you're shopping at. NFL clubs need to nail their draft picks, guess right on scheme fits in big-money free agency and trade the right amount of capital when swinging deals. One of the unsung parts of talent acquisition though is knowing which aisles to walk down when looking for those red dot specials.
Most folks wouldn't consider the Las Vegas Raiders a factory for talent. Grabbing cast offs from there is often a fruitless exercise, and that can be viewed with the recen release of DE Charles Snowden, who was suspended for thiree games to start the season before training camp began. The team has since released him. But the Raiders do have one area of their team worth paying attention to; the tight end position. On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys grabbed a former member of that group to augment their own summer trials, claiming Zack Kuntz off of waivers.
Now make no mistake, Kuntz is an extreme long shot to latch on with Dallas. But the circumstances of moving Princeton Fant to IR after he tore his ACL, opened up a spot at the back end of the positional depth chart while the team works in Oxnard, CA.
And if a team is going to claim a released tight end, getting one from a team that employs one of the best TEs in football in Brock Bowers, plus former second-round pick Michael Mayer.
Kuntz isn't that, but replacing TE4 or TE5 on the depth chart with a player from a club that has a pretty good track record of picking the position makes a ton of sense.

The evening celebration, which will take place at the White House Rose Garden, is scheduled to include members of the USA Winter Olympic teams for figure skating, curling, luge, speedskating, bobsledding, snowboarding, and alpine skiing, among other sports, as well as Paralympic athletes in several sports.

The organization officially claimed wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday afternoon. In a corresponding 91-man roster move, tight end Jeremiah Franklin was placed on waivers.
Palmer, 26, entered the NFL in the sixth round of the 2024 draft at No. 191 overall. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver by way of Snow College and UAB spent the majority of his initial two regular seasons on the Cardinals' practice squad. Ahead of Arizona's finale last January, Palmer was promoted to the 53-man roster. He saw four snaps on offense to go with two snaps on special teams in his debut and was waived on Monday.
Franklin, 22, had signed in Foxborough as an undrafted free agent leading up to training camp in July. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound tight end out of Boston College did so after participating in the Patriots' local pro day as well as rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. During his tenure in Chestnut Hill, Franklin appeared in 44 games, including 30 starts, on the way to catching 93 passes for 1,010 yards and six touchdowns.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — NASCAR's exhibition Clash is returning to Daytona International Speedway for the first time in six years.
The sanctioning body announced the move Tuesday, saying the race will be held Feb. 13, 2027. It will be sponsored by Wheatley American Vodka.
The race doesn't count for points and is the lead-up to the season-opening Daytona 500, which is set for Feb. 21.
Daytona hosted the Clash from 1979 to 2021. It was moved to a temporary track inside Los Angeles Memorial Stadium for three years in an effort to shake up the annual event and then relocated to tiny Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the last two years in a return to NASCAR's grassroots racing.
The event was postponed twice this year because of historic winter weather in North Carolina. Snow-covered roads were too dangerous for teams and fans to get to the historic short track.

Early days of the Dallas Cowboys' training camp have been a learning experience for this defensive group as it goes up against Javonte Williams and a high-powered offense every day. In a recent interview, Williams discussed how quickly the offense found its footing in camp, praising the unit's execution and communication so far. After an off day on Saturday, the Lions returned to the practice field Sunday for their first training camp session in front of fans. Despite a threatening forecast, the rain held off, allowing Detroit to put together a lengthy, fast-paced, and competitive practice in shells.
The defense set the tone on the final day before the pads come on, turning in one of its strongest practices of camp while several players continued making their case for larger roles and roster spots.
Below are my nine biggest standouts from the day. Keep in mind that the Lions held two individual competition periods, where I primarily observed the offensive and defensive line one-on-one pass-rush drills alongside Erik Schlitt. When necessary, I've also incorporated additional observations from Jeremy Reisman on the one-on-one coverage and seven-on-seven periods.
With Blake Miller limited to individual drills, Penei Sewell receiving periodic rest, and Christian Mahogany still working his way back up to speed with the second team, Sunday served as another reminder of just how important quality depth and versatility are along the offensive line.
Miles Frazier went from working almost exclusively at left guard early in camp to taking reps at left tackle, left guard, right guard, and right tackle during Sunday's practice. It was a nonstop exercise in recalibrating his footwork and technique, yet he rarely looked out of place. Frazier appeared promisingly comfortable at tackle, even rotating in with the first team at right tackle while Larry Borom handled the sixth offensive lineman role. He also turned in one of the more impressive performances during one-on-one pass rush drills going 7-1 in a team-high eight reps. On one red-zone rep, after taking second-team reps at right tackle, Frazier immediately rotated in with the third team at right guard and snow-plowed Aidan Keanaaina out of the gap. His endurance and stamina stood out throughout the afternoon while further reinforcing his value as a versatile reserve and likely the team's fourth tackle option.

Snowden signed a 1-year, $1.075 million contract with the Cowboys on June 18 and was suspended almost 1 month later. Snowden was waived with an injury designation as he was dealing with a groin issue.

"Snowden, per the NFL, 'is eligible to participate in all preseason activities, including games; his suspension will take effect as of the roster reduction to 53 players."
