The 2026 midterm elections was a decisive victory for Democrats, who won control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. With Republicans retaining the White House, the election results bring a period of divided government starting in January.
Wall Street's initial reaction has been enthusiastic. As of this writing (Nov. 4), the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) surged more than 1,500 points during morning trading, while the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) also rallied.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Beneath the broader market's gains, investors are undoubtedly repositioning their portfolios. Artificial intelligence (AI) hyperscalers like Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta Platforms are surging, while many semiconductor stocks and data center operators are plunging.
The contrasting performance reflects uncertainty about how the election could affect AI and adjacent industries. For investors wondering whether to change their portfolios following the election, Warren Buffett's advice about mixing politics and investing is particularly relevant.

Jim Cramer thinks investors have gone too far.
As the tech slump dragged into a new week, the CNBC host said in a post on X that the negativity around Marvell, Apple, and Palantir "is pretty thick," adding, "No matter what they say, it isn't enough."
He made the remark as all three stocks slid on Nov. 2.
His comments landed in a rough market. Chip and memory stocks have lost about $3.7 trillion in market value since Oct. 6, and Intel suffered its worst day since 1974 on Oct. 30, falling nearly 29% after a disappointing forecast.
The chip group shed more than $400 billion on Nov. 2 alone, as reported by Yahoo Finance. In a market this nervous, even good news is getting sold.

Although the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has been the hottest trend in decades on Wall Street, it's not the only catalyst lifting the broader market. Investor euphoria for high-profile stock splits has also played an important role.
A stock split allows a public company to alter its share price and outstanding share count by the same factor without affecting its market cap or underlying operating performance. Within a span of just eight days, two historic AI stock splits were announced by Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) and Sandisk (NASDAQ:SNDK), which are set to undertake their first-ever forward splits, respectively.

Until recently, Mark Zuckerberg's Meta was the only member of the "Magnificent Seven" that hadn't split its stock. That changed with the company's Oct. 21 quarterly report, which unveiled the creation of a new class of stock.

For the first time in 60 years, Warren Buffett watched someone else lead Berkshire Hathaway's (NYSE: BRKA)(NYSE: BRKB) annual meeting. That doesn't mean Buffett was absent from that May 2 event, though. He was there on the sidelines and had time to field questions in an unofficial capacity.
In a CNBC interview that day, Buffett was asked whether stocks felt expensive. His answer was that he had never seen people more in the mood to gamble and that "prices for an awful lot of things will look very silly."

Warren Buffett is and always has been a long-term investor. But if things are about to get "silly," should investors adjust their portfolios?
More than 1,000 new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have launched in 2026 so far. A lot of them involve leverage, ultra-short-term options, and ridiculously high yields. In other words, they're the kinds of products that don't resemble anything that Warren Buffett would consider.

Democrats secured control of the Senate on Tuesday, a seismic shift that effectively blocks President Trump's campaign to reshape the Federal Reserve and neutralizes what many ******* ysts viewed as a threat to the central bank's independence.
It also heightens the challenge for Trump should he maneuver to replace any sitting officials.
"Democrats' control of the Senate reclaims the party's ability to approve or deny the President's nominees for judges and heads of other executive branch agencies," Jonathan Pingle, an economist for UBS, wrote in a note. "That includes the need for Democrats to approve any new members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System should one of the existing governors step aside."
That political firewall directly impacts the administration's ongoing effort to remove Fed governor Lisa Cook. Trump fired Cook in August 2025, claiming she committed mortgage fraud by making misrepresentations on loan documents years before her appointment to the central bank. Cook, a Biden appointee, has denied any wrongdoing and sued. The lawsuit has gone through multiple court rungs before reaching the Supreme Court earlier this year.
Last month, Trump established a committee to determine whether her statements constituted legal "cause" for removal from the central bank, signaling that his efforts to oust her are continuing.

Archival couture rarely looks this playful, and Sienna Miller's minidress proved it by turning heads in Los Angeles with glossy pink satin and a shape that refused to stay simple. The hemline carried plenty of drama, while the back held an even bigger surprise. Pale tones, soft ruffles and a vintage pedigree set the mood for the "Madden" premiere.
Sienna Miller, 44, wore Emanuel Ungaro to the Los Angeles event. According to Check The Tag, the piece comes from the label's Spring/Summer 1992 Couture collection.
The strapless dress skimmed her frame in blush-pink satin. A straight, structured neckline sat above a gathered waist, which gave the fabric a softly ruched finish. Below, a tiered ruffle trimmed the hem and also added movement with every step.
The back of the dress added a touch of fun. A large, bow-like swirl of satin sat at the hip, which turned the short silhouette into something more sculptural. On Miller, the minidress looked playful yet polished, with the volume at the back and the ruffle at the front echoing one another.
The "American Sniper" actress kept her accessories minimal. Pale pink sandals with slim ankle straps kept the palette tonal, while a statement ring added a hint of sparkle. Her blonde hair was pulled into a high, loose ponytail, with a few strands left out to frame her face. Soft, rosy makeup and a pink lip completed the look.

Bob Dylan has visited Pope Leo XIV in Rome.
The American singer-songwriter and poet visited with the pontiff at the Vatican during a break between concert dates in Italy.
A Vatican spokesperson shared that the encounter was a brief one, with Pope Leo giving Dylan a rosary, and Dylan presenting the pope with a copy of his autobiography, Chronicles: Volume One.
The Pope had previously quoted a1963 unpublished protest song of Dylan's in his own 2026 book, Disarmed and Disarming: Peace Is a Gift.
"I hate you cause yer man-made and man-owned, an' man-handled," he echoed about the recourse to nuclear weapons.
Dylan, who won the ****** el Prize for Literature in 2016, played for Pope John Paul II in 1997 during a concert at a religious congress in Bologna, Italy.

Rihanna has dressed her kids in matching Savage x Fenty PJs, and the cozy photos are already winning hearts. Set against a starry sky and a snowy backdrop, the striped looks give the campaign a dreamy, bedtime feel. What makes the campaign even more memorable is that the tiny pieces are exclusive to three little models, with Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's kids, clearly stealing the spotlight.
Savage x Fenty shared the images on Instagram with a playful caption. It credited the "Sweet Satin Dream" to Rihanna "and the gang." It then added a note: "The tiny satins are exclusive to RZA, Riot, and Rocki."
The campaign marks a first of sorts, as it is the singer's first photo shoot with all three of her children. Her sons, RZA and Riot, are four and three years old, respectively. Her daughter Rocki is the youngest and is one year old.
The photos also promote the brand's collection of holiday-themed onesies. The styling of the campaign is soft and cohesive. Rihanna wears pale pink and deep burgundy striped satin pajamas, with a matching striped sleep mask pushed up on her head. Her children wear the same print in smaller sizes. The baby's set has a ruffled, romper-style cut, while the older two wear ****** on-up tops and trousers.
The set is designed around a nursery with pictures showing a deep blue, star-dotted backdrop, a large paper penguin and a hot-air balloon carrying a bunny. Rihanna and the kids lie on patchwork quilts and fluffy white snow that cover the floor.

I've been writing about Social Security for well over a decade. And I've found that there's a lot of misinformation about the program and how it works.
Some people, for example, think all Americans are entitled to Social Security once they reach a certain age and that everyone receives the same monthly benefit. In reality, Social Security benefits are earned by paying taxes on wages. And the amount of Social Security you get in retirement depends on your earnings history and your filing age.
Continue »
Another big Social Security myth I hear all too often is that it's more than feasible to retire on those monthly benefits alone. I'm here to tell you that if you go that route, you might sorely regret it.

Tuesday's midterm vote is behind us, and chip stocks came into it bruised. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SMH) ended Election Day at $518.52. That was around 22% under the fund's highest close ever, set on June 22, but it still left the fund up about 44% in 2026.
What have chip stocks usually done over the 12 months after a midterm vote?

I went back to the PHLX Semiconductor Index, a widely watched chip benchmark with daily data going back far enough to cover the past eight midterms. For each one, I compared the index's close on Election Day to its close on the same date a year later, on price alone.
The record's impressive. But I think where chip stocks start this time is a reason to lower expectations.

James Barnor is no stranger to big moments.
When Ghana declared independence in 1957, he was there with his camera. In 1960s London, he challenged stereotypes of Black models and artists with photographs for Drum magazine. In 1970, he established Ghana's first colour-processing laboratory.
Now aged 97, he is receiving one of photography's top honours.
The World Photography Organisation has revealed that Barnor will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Photography award at the 2027 Sony World Photography Awards.

Vin Diesel wanted Judi Dench for The Chronicles of Riddick, so he sent flowers ahead of his visit to her London theater. In Dench's telling, the bouquet made it as far as the stage door. Staff couldn't carry it up the stairs to her dressing room.
Dench was appearing opposite Maggie Smith in David Hare's two-person play The Breath of Life at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Diesel had flown to London to see them perform. The role he had in mind for Dench was Aereon, an ambassador who can glide through the air, in his 2004 sequel to Pitch Black.
She agreed to do the film without reading the script. In an interview published by The Spokesman-Review when the movie came out, Dench said she was still getting over the fact that he'd come all that way to ask her.
Now 91, Dench revisits the offer in Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It?, published in the U.S. on November 3 by St. Martin's Press. The book grew out of conversations with her friend Brendan O'Hea, who gives her a hard time about how readily she said yes.

If you had only ever seen Katie Holmes as tomboy-adjacent Joey Potter from "Dawson's Creek," which is arguably the actor's most famous role, then you might be surprised to look up and witness the gorgeous, style-forward woman that Holmes has become in the years since. From Katie Holmes' stunning hair transformation to her trend-setting street style — you can take notes from Katie Holmes on nailing denim-on-denim — this former girl-next-door has established herself as a fashionable member of the A-list.
However, there is one thing that Katie Holmes still has in common with her years portraying Joey: a minimalist approach to cosmetics. Surprised? This may seem like a big shift from the woman who told Redbook in 2013 that while some celebs don't need makeup, "But I do! I need it!" and confessed to British Vogue, "I don't always take off my makeup before bed."
Today's Katie Holmes is a skincare-conscious queen who prioritizes a healthy glow. And while she enjoys her time in the makeup chair, she doesn't feel that a full-face look is necessary armor for day-to-day life. She even filmed an entire movie — 2015's "Touched with Fire" — wearing basically no makeup on camera. This translates into many moments in the actor's off-screen existence, as well. From grocery shopping and posting selfies without cosmetics to scaling back her event makeup wherever she can, Katie Holmes prefers to embrace her inherent beauty.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump reacted Wednesday to Republicans' midterm election losses by showing off the White House ballroom he's building as he demonstrated the kind of detached behavior that voters around the country said was a key reason they opted to punish his party.
In an extraordinary scene, Trump summoned reporters to the hulking construction site that he demolished the East Wing to make room for and the Republican president spoke for nearly 20 minutes about minute building details. He did not mention his party losing control of Congress after defeats in some of the country's deepest GOP strongholds, including Texas and South Carolina, or voter concerns about the high cost of living and federal corruption that helped cause the election losses.
"This has been a structure the likes of which has never been seen anywhere," Trump said, speaking into a microphone that sent loud feedback echoing around the cavernous ***** e.
He talked at length about how the ballroom would be the "safest place in Washington" upon completion, stretching five stories underground and featuring a cut of marble that he called "a vein that people have been after for 50 years."
"We have large staircases coming from the kitchen. If I put the kitchen on top, you would lose three walls, because a kitchen takes about 30% of the ***** e," Trump said of his choice to make the ballroom's kitchen subterranean.

Stocks soared Wednesday as investors reacted to a clean sweep by Democrats in the midterm election.
Stocks were initially down when results started to roll in Tuesday night, in part due to fears of a data center crackdown, but futures turned green later in the evening, and all three major indexes soared on Wednesday.
Continue »
It wasn't immediately clear why stocks jumped on the results, though it appeared to be a combination of several factors. Investors were glad to see pushback on the Trump administration validated, including on inflation and the war in Iran. Investors tend to like a divided government, and with Democrats gaining solid control of both houses of Congress, they clearly have that. Finally, President Trump was surprisingly conciliatory, saying he would "absolutely accept the results of the election," and was willing to work with Democrats, which could pave the way to a productive Congressional term.
Among the winning sectors today was housing, which has languished over the last two years due to high mortgage rates and weak housing turnover. The State Street SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF (NYSEMKT:XHB) closed up 5.4%, reaching its highest point in more than two months, while Home Depot (NYSE:HD) and Lowe's (NYSE:LOW), the two leading home improvement retailers, were up as well. Home Depot finished up 6.5%, and Lowe's jumped 7.5%.

For years, someone else watched the markets, adjusted your accounts, and made sure withdrawals went out on time. Now your adviser has retired, and at 71, the account statements land on your kitchen table. That feels uncomfortable, but the job is manageable. Three broad funds from State Street cover the core jobs of a retirement portfolio. State Street SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 Value ETF (NYSEARCA:SPYV) handles U.S. stocks. State Street SPDR MSCI ACWI ex-US ETF (NYSEARCA:CWI) adds international stocks. State Street SPDR Portfolio Intermediate Term Treasury Index ETF (NYSEARCA:SPTI) provides bond stability.

Recent filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show that Berkshire Hathaway purchased an additional $27 million in one of its top 20 holdings, SiriusXM (NASDAQ:SIRI).
The purchases were made between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3 for an average price of roughly $29 per share.
Continue »
The satellite radio company Sirius now accounts for 1.1% of Berkshire's massive, roughly $368 billion equity portfolio, and Berkshire controls over 37% of Sirius's outstanding shares.
Berkshire has owned a significant stake in Sirius for quite a while, but when Liberty Media split off Sirius XM and two of its tracking stocks in 2024, Berkshire went in again, purchasing another $1.2 billion of Sirius stock in early 2024.

Over the last few years, the stock market has become concentrated among a relatively small cohort of technology companies. These companies have an unusually strong influence over the direction of the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC), making investor sentiment toward artificial intelligence (AI) particularly important to the broader market's performance.
As of Nov. 3, a little more than one-third of the S&P 500 is composed of the "Magnificent Seven" stocks -- Nvidia, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Tesla. This concentration is important heading into Friday, Nov. 6, when two potentially market-moving events are scheduled.

The October jobs report is scheduled to publish before the opening bell, while billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk will take the stage at a major investment conference later that afternoon. Here's why I'm predicting Nov. 6 could become a consequential trading day on Wall Street.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will release the October employment report at 8:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 6. This report provides investors with several important economic indicators, including nonfarm payroll growth, the unemployment rate, and changes in average hourly earnings. These figures can offer clues about the health of the American economy and the Federal Reserve's next moves on interest rates.

Andrew Garfield originally intended to play Mark Zuckerberg in 2010's The Social Network before Jesse Eisenberg took on the role, while Garfield instead played Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin
Garfield is reflecting on the experience now that he is playing another majorly impactful tech CEO in Artificial as OpenAI's Sam Altman
Artificial, Garfield's new movie about the company behind ChatGPT, is in theaters Dec. 25
Andrew Garfield's role as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network is still on the actor's mind as he steps into a new movie about a tech company with tremendous power.
Garfield, 43, spoke with GQ in an interview published Wednesday, Nov. 4, regarding his new movie Artificial, in which he portrays OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman. The role had him reflecting on when he starred in 2010's The Social Network after losing out on the role of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Jesse Eisenberg.

The AI building boom just ran into politics, or at least the stocks behind the buildup did. On Wednesday, the day after Democrats won control of the House and Senate, investors dumped the companies that build data centers and supply their power and cooling equipment. By midmorning, Modine (NYSE:MOD) was down about 24%, Sterling Infrastructure (NASDAQ:STRL) about 19% and Comfort Systems USA (NYSE:FIX) about 16%. Even the industry's giants weren't spared: Vertiv (NYSE:VRT) and GE Vernova (NYSE:GEV) were each down roughly 11% to 12%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 climbed about 2%.
So, what spooked investors? And is this the kind of drop worth buying?

A Democratic House was largely expected, so much of that was largely priced in, but one of the bigger shocks came from Texas, where Democrat Gina Hinojosa defeated Republican Gov. That's a big deal, because Texas holds about 27% of the data center capacity planned in the U.S., according to Wells Fargo.

SPY rose in five of six Novembers after midterms, gaining as much as 6% in 2002 and 2022 following severe bear markets.
DIA finished higher in all six post-midterm years, with gains ranging from 5% to 20%, fitting a broader presidential-cycle pattern.
In 2018, SPY gained nearly 2% in November then crashed 9% in December, ending the year 7% below pre-election levels.

Election nights tend to rattle retirement savers, but Wall Street opened Wednesday more calmly. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY), the most widely held stand-in for the benchmark S&P 500, traded at $763.08 before the open on November 4. That was up 1.16% from its November 3 close of $754.35. Reuters reported that stocks rallied and the dollar dipped after what it called a Democratic midterm sweep. But one session tells a 401(k) holder very little. The more useful guide is how the index behaved in the weeks and months after past midterms. That record shows a steady winning run, along with a few sharp breaks.

The "Magnificent Seven" was popularized in 2023 by Bank of America ****** yst Michael Hartnett as a term for seven rapidly appreciating tech-focused growth companies. In 2023, Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) were instrumental in driving the Nasdaq Composite's (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) monster 43.4% gain -- with all seven companies posting even bigger returns.
Big gains followed in 2024, with every Magnificent Seven stock except for Microsoft outperforming the Nasdaq and S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC). But in 2025, only Nvidia and Alphabet outperformed both indexes. And after last week's sell-off, the only Magnificent Seven stock left standing above the indexes is Apple, which surpassed Nvidia as the world's most valuable company on Oct. 30.

Throughout the day, Americans from across our great nation have headed to the polls or mailed in their ballots to make their voices heard. According to popular prediction market Kalshi, as of 8:50 p.m. ET, the odds have skyrocketed to better than 99% that Democrats will retake control of the House of Representatives. Regardless of what happens in the Senate, President Trump would be working with a divided Congress come January 2027.
Based on what history tells us, a split Congress can significantly alter annualized return expectations for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC).

If prediction markets prove accurate and Democrats do retake one or both houses of Congress, President Donald Trump's second nonconsecutive term will mirror his first. He'll have had two years of full Republican congressional control in the first half of each term, and a divided Congress in the second half of both.

Fast-food burger franchisees are rejecting underperforming leases in bankruptcy cases as part of reorganizations, which they hope will shed unprofitable restaurants.
Among the burger chains that are restructuring debt and closing restaurants are Wendy's and Checkers and Rally's.
Checkers and Rally's fast-food burger chain franchisee Global Midsouth Holding Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize its business, facing a foreclosure notice on its Jackson, Tenn., restaurant property.
The Memphis-based debtor filed its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee on Oct. 28, 2026, a day before a foreclosure auction was scheduled at the Madison County Courthouse in Jackson, Tenn.
The bankruptcy filing imposed an automatic stay on all legal actions against the debtor while the case proceeds.

Yesterday, tens of millions of Americans made their voices heard by casting or mailing in their ballots. These votes have charted a new course for America, with Democrats taking firm control of the House of Representatives and the Senate, according to the **** ociated Press. Starting in early January, President Donald Trump will be working with a Democrat-led Congress.

President Trump has enjoyed a unified Republican government in the first two years of both of his nonconsecutive terms. In each case, Congress passed, and he signed into law, a major tax and spending bill. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) (signed December 2017) permanently lowered the peak marginal corporate income tax rate to 21%, fueling S&P 500 share buybacks, while the Big, Beautiful Bill (signed July 2025) made the personal income tax bracket reductions from the TCJA permanent.

Two years ago, it seemed like ******* ody wanted to touch Intel (NASDAQ: INTC). The company that basically invented the modern chip industry had turned into its own cautionary tale, posting an $18.8 billion net loss for 2024 while it fell behind Nvidia in artificial intelligence (AI) and behind Taiwan's foundries in manufacturing.

Then something strange happened. The U.S. government bought a stake in Intel. So did Nvidia. So did SoftBank. Companies and governments don't usually hand over billions to a business they think is finished, and that's the real reason I think the next 14 months matter more for this stock than almost any stretch in Intel's recent history.
Turnarounds aren't real until a real, working product ships, and Intel is finally shipping. In July, the company said its newest Arizona fab had entered high-volume manufacturing on a subset of its Core Ultra Series 3 chips, known as Panther Lake, the first processor built on Intel 18A, which Intel calls the most advanced semiconductor process ever developed and manufactured in the United States. Its second-quarter 2026 release adds that the next node behind it, 18A-P, had already entered risk production, meaning Intel isn't just trying to catch up on one generation, it's trying to stay on pace for the one after. On the data center side, that same release says Intel also launched Xeon 6+, its first server chip built on 18A.
Money talks, and in 2025 three very different yet massive buyers said the same thing with their wallets. The U.S. government invested $8.9 billion in Intel common stock, structured largely out of unpaid CHIPS Act and Secure Enclave funding, in exchange for roughly 275 million shares and warrants for up to 241 million more. Nvidia added $5 billion, and SoftBank put in another $2 billion, both also in Intel common stock. None of this money really guarantees Panther Lake sells well, or that Intel's foundry business ever turns a real profit. But I think it's an odd thing to do if you think a company is circling the drain, and you don't have any faith in it.

With shares up by almost 700% over the last five years, Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) has been one of the biggest winners on the software side of the generative artificial intelligence (AI) megatrend. It has rapidly incorporated the new technology into its business model, leading to skyrocketing revenue and earnings.
That said, Palantir's stock rally has slowed over the last 12 months, leaving investors wondering whether it can return to the explosive growth it enjoyed in previous years. Let's dig into the pros and cons of the stock to decide what it might be worth by the end of 2027.

Right now, AI-hungry investors are mostly limited to the infrastructure side of the opportunity. This is where hardware companies like Nvidia and Micron build the chips that data center providers use to run and train large language models (LLMs). However, many leading consumer-facing AI software leaders are still privately held, putting them out of reach.
Palantir convincingly bucks the trend. Its business involves sifting through vast amounts of its clients' internal data to help them identify actionable insights like business trends, opportunities, and fraud. Generative AI proved highly synergistic with these tools, enabling operators to access insights via natural language prompts rather than advanced interfaces. Demand has been explosive.

President Donald Trump has been in the White House for nearly six years, spanning two nonconsecutive terms. Over that time, the iconic Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI), benchmark S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC), and growth-dependent Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC) have delivered well-above-average annual returns, compared to most other presidents since the late 1890s.
One of the key catalysts powering Wall Street's bull market, the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure build-out, was well underway before Trump's second term began. But make no mistake about it: Wall Street and investors have also benefited immensely from the president's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (signed into law in December 2017), which lowered the peak marginal corporate income tax rate to 21% (the lowest rate since 1939), fueling record S&P 500 share buybacks.
