The event will mark the UFC's first trip to Toronto since January 2024, when Dricus du Plessis edged Sean Strickland via split decision in a middleweight ***** le fight to capture the championship.
Although no official bouts have been announced for UFC 336, the card could feature a major welterweight showdown, potentially including a ***** le fight. With several top contenders seemingly lining up for their next ***** ignments, Toronto could be in for a stacked night of fights.
The welterweight division has one of the most competitive groups of contenders at the top, and UFC 336 could bring together six of its biggest names on the same card, with championship implications potentially at stake.
The biggest rumored matchup is a welterweight ***** le fight between Islam Makhachev and Carlos Prates. According to MMA reporter Alvaro Colmenero, the Brazilian could get his shot at the champion as early as January 2027, with Makhachev potentially making his second ***** le defense at UFC 336.

Scotiabank believes CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWD) is emerging as a "vendor of choice" for agentic AI security needs. After conversing with more than 15 customers at the Fal.Con 2026 event and meeting with the company management, the Wall Street firm came away confident in the company's sustained momentum.
On September 4, Scotiabank ***** yst Patrick Colville raised the price target on the stock to $265 from $250 while maintaining a Sector Outperform rating. Firm checks showed how customers are experiencing an "accelerating" desire to consolidate security stacks onto CrowdStrike's platform.
The key question now is whether CrowdStrike can sustain this interest and translate it into meaningful growth, all while defending its position as a key AI cyber security platform.

On September 1, CrowdStrike introduced SafeMind, a suite of cyber security threat detection models within its Falcon platform. The launch was made at the Fal.Con 2026 event, aimed to run as one system designed to deliver AI safety.

Bank of Nova Scotia (NYSE: BNS) is offering investors a nearly 3.5% yield. The average bank's yield is around 2.2%, and the S&P 500 index (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) has a tiny 1% yield. If you are looking for a high-yield bank stock, Scotiabank, as it is more commonly known, is probably worth a close look. But the real dividend story is about consistency. Here's what you need to know.
Recently, Scotiabank made a major change in its business. For a long time, the Canadian bank had skipped the U.S. market, focusing instead on Central and South America. That differentiated it from its large Canadian peers, which had focused on growth in the U.S. Scotiabank's plans didn't work out as well as hoped, so it shifted gears. Now, like its peers, it is increasing its focus on the U.S., with a goal of offering its services from Mexico to Canada. Those three countries are contiguous and important trading partners.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
What's notable is that Scotiabank has made this shift without resorting to a dividend cut. In fact, the biggest impact that dividend investors felt was a one-year pause in dividend increases. When you look at the company's history, however, that makes total sense. Scotiabank has paid dividends every year since 1833, over 190 years ago. And, unlike many of the largest U.S. banks, it also didn't cut its dividend during the Great Recession.
Scotiabank's efforts to grow in the U.S. market will likely be a net positive, but the real story here isn't about growth. This is a slow-and-steady business that will help you build wealth over time. Dividend reinvestment would allow for powerful compounding, given the above-average yield and incredible dividend history. The real story, then, is consistency, which is powered by the bank's Canadian operations.

Wall Street experts believe that AI adoption continues to create a cybersecurity spending cycle, with companies increasingly needing to secure AI agents, applications, and cloud workloads. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) is benefiting from this trend, posting record net new ARR of $333 million in Q2 2027, up 51% year-over-year, and upgrading FY27 net new ARR growth guidance by 630 bps to 34%. Revenue also rose 26% to $1.47 billion, driven by elevated demand.
Scotiabank lifted its price objective on CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD)'s stock to $250 from $227 on August 27, while maintaining a "Sector Outperform" rating. The firm sees broad-based enterprise demand and increased spending on AI security for CRWD. The firm also tagged the company as a medium-term compounder even though it commands a premium valuation.
Wall Street ***** ysts believe that the upside case for CRWD revolves around platform expansion and AI security. Falcon Flex ARR crossed $2.29 billion, implying a rise of 101% YoY. Notably, 51% of subscription customers are now using six or more modules. Moving forward, growth is expected to be backed by cross-selling, AI security adoption, and record FCF.
However, bears highlight valuation as the biggest risk. Since expectations for high growth remain elevated, this leaves room for multiple compression if ARR growth slows, module adoption disappoints, or competition intensifies. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) trades at a forward P/E of ~172.4x, significantly higher than that of competitor Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW)'s forward P/E of ~87.7x.
CrowdStrike's strong ARR growth and expanding Falcon platform provide the company with a strong growth profile. On the other hand, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) is benefiting from broader network-security exposure. Overall, CrowdStrike's strong presence across endpoint, cloud, identity, SIEM, and AI security cements its position as the consolidated cybersecurity platform.

SentinelOne (NYSE:S) reported solid second-quarter performance when it reported on August 27. Despite a clean beat, shares surged down in extended and post-announcement trading, with investors focused instead on a trimmed profit/ EPS outlook for future quarters and high restructuring costs.
However, not everyone on Wall Street is pessimistic about SentinelOne's story. On August 28, Scotiabank ******* yst Patrick Colville raised the firm's price target on the stock to $26 from $23.50 and kept an Outperform rating on the shares.
For the second quarter, total revenue for S grew 21% to $292 million, compared to $242 million in the same quarter last year. Annualized recurring revenue (ARR) grew 22% to $1,218 million, while customers with ARR of $100,000 or more grew 13% to 1,715. These customer additions are a reflection of the company's market penetration and strategic demand for its platform. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share was $0.08, double the prior year.
Despite the obvious beats, the one factor Scotiabank particularly focused on was new Annual Recurring Revenue, coming in above management's guidance. Net new ARR measures how much new recurring revenue the company is adding to each quarter. The firm slightly increased its third and fourth quarter net new annual recurring revenue estimates as management indicated expectations for fiscal 2027 annual recurring revenue growth in the mid-single digits. This is up from prior guidance of low-single digit growth.
Another factor bulls pointed out for SentinelOne has been its AI readiness spending acceleration broadening across industries. SentinelOne's core endpoint and AI native products including agentic SOC, Purple, and runtime security are likely to benefit from improved demand based on this acceleration.

Kyle Lowry gets the Raptors honor only Vince Carter has received originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Kyle Lowry helped deliver the greatest moment in Toronto Raptors history. Now, his place in the franchise's history will become permanent.
The Raptors announced Thursday that Lowry's No. 7 jersey will be retired following Toronto's Jan. 10 game against the Philadelphia 76ers at Scotiabank Arena. Lowry will become only the second player in franchise history to receive the honor, joining Vince Carter, whose No. 15 was raised to the rafters in November 2024.
The opponent adds another layer of significance to the celebration. Lowry is a Philadelphia native and spent the final two-plus seasons of his NBA career with the 76ers.
Lowry officially closed his 20-year career earlier this summer. The 40-year-old signed a ceremonial one-day contract with Toronto on July 7, allowing him to retire with the organization where he spent the most successful years of his career.

When the Philadelphia 76ers pay a visit to Scotiabank Arena on Jan. 10 to take on the Toronto Raptors, it will mean much more than just a regular season game in January. The Raptors will honor an all-time franchise great while taking on the final team he played for.
The Raptors announced that on that night, they will retire Kyle Lowry's No. 7 uniform.
After 20 seasons in the league, including nine with the Raptors and the final two and a half with the Sixers, Lowry hung up his sneakers with career averages of 13.8 points, 6.0 ***** ists, and 4.2 rebounds. He was a 6-time All-Star and led Toronto to a championship, alongside current Sixers coach Nick Nurse, in 2019, and is considered the greatest Raptor of all time.
Lowry's greatest contributions to the Sixers were his mentorship to young players like Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe. He was nearing the end of his brilliant career by then and wanted to pass down his knowledge to those youngsters to help them take steps forward in his career.

TORONTO — The standard 5 o'clock pedestrian traffic of financiers in suits featured pops of red and No. 22 jerseys in the Entertainment District on Tuesday night. The promenade at Scotiabank Arena was populated with even more two hours before tip-off.
The Indiana Fever show touched down across the border for the first time and hit all of its typical beats. The game moved to a larger NBA-sized arena filled to the brim at an announced sellout of 19,300. Fans waited in line longer than even Caitlin Clark herself thinks she would consider. And attention honed in on the visitors, with fans giddy at the arrival of the league's most talked-about team.
"It is a spectacle sometimes," Fever head coach Stephanie White said. "But when it's time to play, it's time to play."
No steam was lost in this trip up north, despite the Fever reaching for another beat they'd rather not. The final minutes were made more scintillating than needed after Indiana allowed a 17-point lead to fade, and Tempo guard Marina Mabrey drained back-to-back 3s to pull within four. It was as close as the game had been since the start of the third quarter.
But the Fever held on, and are now riding a five-game win streak with their magic number to clinch a playoff spot at two. They are playing their best basketball in the recent stretch, led again by their big 3 of Clark (24 points, 7 ******* ists), Kelsey Mitchell (29 points) and Aliyah Boston (16). Mitchell extended her streak of 20-plus point games to 20, tying the league record, but missed the fourth quarter. White said all indications are she "got overheated" in their second straight game played in an arena set closer to the temperature of an actual fever.

Indiana Fever reserve guard Sophie Cunningham has become one of the most controversial figures in the WNBA. Cunningham is having a career year from the three-point line, but the vast majority of the discourse surrounding her has focused on comments she made in a July 21 ESPN profile.
"I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I'm like, 'I never once said that,'" she said in the profile. "I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men."
Many around the league, including several head coaches and even her own, Stephanie White, spoke about embracing inclusivity for all people after the comments sparked intense debate. Some fans became staunch supporters of Cunningham's in the aftermath of the controversy, while others have become some of her biggest haters.
She found a lot of the latter when the Fever visited Canada to face the Toronto Tempo in front of a sold out crowd at Scotiabank Arena, where they rained boos down on her after she entered the game.
After the game, Cunningham discussed the boos gracefully in her press conference.

TORONTO (AP) — Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell sat out the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's 101-95 win at Toronto because she was overheated, coach Stephanie White said.
The WNBA's second-leading scorer, Mitchell had eight points in the span of less than a minute late in the third quarter to reach 29 points for the game. She then went to the locker room and did not return to the floor at steamy Scotiabank Arena.
"This is two games in a row where we played in really, really hot environments," White said. "All indications are right now that she was just overheated."
Mitchell scored 20 points in 36 minutes on Sunday as the Fever needed overtime to win 95-91 at Atlanta.
Last October, Mitchell was sent to a hospital to receive fluids after going to the floor with leg cramps in the third quarter of a 107-98 overtime loss to Las Vegas in the decisive Game 5 of the WNBA semifinal series.

TORONTO — Kelsey Mitchell left the Indiana Fever's bench and headed to the locker room in the fourth quarter of the win over the Toronto Tempo because she started overheating, Fever coach Stephanie White said.
Scotiabank Arena, which is not the Tempo's typical home arena, was atypically warm on Tuesday night. It's the second-straight game the Fever have played in a warmer-than-usual arena, as State Farm Arena in Atlanta (not the Dream's typical home venue, either) was also unseasonably warm compared to the chilly Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis — all three NBA arenas, too.
"It seems like she just got overheated," White said. "I mean, this is two games in a row where we played in really, really hot environments, so all indications right now is that she was just overheated."
The Fever star, who tied a WNBA record with her 20th straight games scoring 20 or more points, checked out of the game for the final time with 24 seconds remaining in the third quarter. She went back to the locker room in the fourth quarter and did not return to the bench for the rest of the game. She finished with 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting.

One of the WNBA's new expansion franchises, the Toronto Tempo, played host to the Indiana Fever for the first time in franchise history on Tuesday. Due to the massive draw that is Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, the game was moved from Toronto's normal arena of Coca-Coal Coliseum at Exhibition Place, to the larger-capacity Scotiabank Arena, where the Toronto Raptors play.
Heading into the game, The Toronto Sun's Matt Simmons wrote about just how big a draw Clark is.
"There has never been a professional athlete in North American team sports who has changed her league and the business of her sport the way Clark has in three WNBA seasons," Simmons wrote.
Simmons also wrote about Clark's impact on television ratings.
"Of the 10 most-watched WNBA games played this season, all 10 include Clark and the Fever. She's almost her own league, even as her fellow players tend to ignore her, rough her up, or denigrate her play."

In their second matchup of a five-game road trip, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (23-12) travel north of the border on Tuesday night for the first time in franchise history to take on the Toronto Tempo (10-23) from Scotiabank Arena.
While the Fever are seeking their fifth straight win and have won 13 of their past 17 contests, the expansion Tempo have done the opposite in their inaugural season, dropping 10 straight. Indiana toppled Toronto 113-91 in Indianapolis back on June 16 behind a 21-point, 14-assist double-double from Clark.
In Indiana's highly entertaining 95-91 overtime win over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, Clark led the offensive attack with 26 points and nine **** ists. Sunday's performance sealed the former Hawkeyes' second AP Player of the Week and fourth WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors, as she averaged 25.7 points and 9.7 **** ists per game on 50.9% shooting across Indiana's three games between Aug. 10-16.

On August 4, SentinelOne (NYSE:S) expanded its work with Amazon Web Services, folding its AI security tools into a single governance layer for Amazon Bedrock. The news arrives as the cybersecurity company's revenue growth is speeding up and its losses are shrinking, even as two of its top executives cashed out stock in the same stretch.
The new integration ties SentinelOne's Prompt Security, Singularity Cloud Security, and Singularity AI SIEM into Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, giving security teams one dashboard to watch, enforce, and fix AI risk. It builds on a narrower integration from June 2026 that put runtime guardrails at the Bedrock AgentCore gateway. This time the scope is bigger: usage visibility, policy enforcement across AWS and other clouds, threat detection, and automated fixes for misconfigured or noncompliant AI code. SentinelOne's tools are already sold through AWS Marketplace, and the company is targeting AWS re:Invent 2026 for the full governance layer's general release.
That product push lines up with a business that is growing faster, not slower. Fiscal first quarter revenue rose 21% year over year to $277 million, and SentinelOne guided for $289 million to $291 million in the following quarter, up from $242 million a year earlier. Scotiabank upgraded the stock from sector perform to sector outperform, pointing to that sales growth alongside a cybersecurity market that matters more as AI agents grow capable enough to probe for weaknesses. Recent cyberattacks on water systems across 12 US states have only sharpened that case. The losses are also narrowing. Operating loss fell to $79.7 million from $87.5 million a year prior, and net loss dropped to $76.2 million from $208.2 million, a sign the company is getting its cost base under control while it scales.
SentinelOne is still not profitable on a GAAP basis, and that gap has not closed, only narrowed. Two executives sold stock during the run described above. CFO Sonalee Parekh sold 12,987 shares on July 27, 2026, for about $237,013, and CEO Tomer Weingarten sold 53,811 shares on August 6, for roughly $1.1 million. Both sales were mandatory sell-to-cover trades tied to vesting restricted stock units, not open-market bets against the company, and each executive kept a large stake afterward, Parekh with 964,281 shares and Weingarten with 1,840,586. Still, the timing stands out. Parekh's sale came less than two weeks after shares touched a 52-week high of $20.71 on July 15, and Weingarten's came the day before shares set a fresh high of $21.51 on August 7. The AI governance layer itself is not fully available yet either, with general availability pegged to a trade show months away, leaving execution risk on the table.

Last season, several goalies proved they belong in the discussion for top-five netminders in the NHL. Logan Thompson emerged as a standout, showcasing elite skills even as the Capitals missed the playoffs. Meanwhile, Igor Shesterkin delivered impressive performances despite facing a struggling New York defense. Here are the top five goalies in the NHL as we approach the 2026-27 season.

If it weren't for these other top goalies, Thompson has a really good case to be in the top three. Thompson led the NHL in goals saved above expected. He was dominant, but his team in front could not do enough to get into the playoffs.
Ilya Sorokin has established himself as one of the premier goalies in the league, and what truly distinguishes him is his remarkable achievement of 26 shutouts in 286 games over the past five seasons, the highest total in the NHL during that period.

Isabelle Harrison shows off chiseled abs in striking pregame look despite missing Tempo game originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Isabelle Harrison was not available to help the Toronto Tempo on the court Thursday night, but that did not stop her from making a statement before the game.
Harrison showed off her chiseled abs in a striking pregame look ahead of Toronto's matchup against the Minnesota Lynx at Scotiabank Arena. Athlete Vanity shared photos of the 6-foot-5 forward's outfit shortly before the opening tip.
It was another eye-catching tunnel appearance from Harrison, who has been sidelined by soreness in her left knee. Toronto officially ruled her out approximately 15 minutes before Thursday's game after initially listing her as questionable. Although Harrison could not play, she still made sure to support her teammates while bringing plenty of personality to the arena.
Harrison has long been one of the WNBA's most fashionable players, and Thursday's appearance continued that trend. The 32-year-old confidently displayed her toned midsection in a pregame outfit that perfectly blended athleticism and style. Her visible abs immediately stood out as she arrived for the Tempo's home game.

When the Toronto Raptors reacquired Kawhi Leonard earlier this month, it looked like one of the biggest steals of the NBA offseason. The reunion made perfect sense. Leonard was returning to the franchise where he delivered its first and only NBA championship before departing for the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency. For Raptors fans, it felt like a storybook homecoming. Now, however, the entire situation has been thrown into chaos.

According to a report, Leonard's trade to Toronto isn't simply on hold—it could lead to the veteran superstar being suspended. Even more shocking is the report's claim that the NBA has been investigating both Leonard and the Clippers for the past 10 months.
If that timeline is accurate, it raises a serious question about how this situation was handled by the league. This is where the NBA deserves criticism.

Cloudflare Inc. (NYSE:NET) shares gained 3% on Tuesday after Scotiabank upgraded the stock to Sector Outperform from Sector Perform, citing growing confidence in the company's long-term position within AI infrastructure.
Analyst Patrick Colville also increased his price target to $300 from $225, pointing to several catalysts that could support stronger revenue growth in the coming quarters.
According to Scotiabank, Cloudflare's Workers platform is emerging as the preferred infrastructure for AI-generated, or "vibe coded", applications, including OpenAI Codex Sites and Lovable.
The broker believes this trend is not yet fully reflected in investor expectations and could become an increasingly important growth driver for the business.
"We upgrade our rating on the common shares of Cloudflare to Sector Outperform and lift our price target to $300," Colville commented. "After spending the past 4+ weeks doing a deeper dive on Cloudflare's opportunity, we feel convinced that the time is now to own NET as: (1) Workers is becoming the default infrastructure for vibe coded applications – including OpenAI Codex Sites and Lovable, a dynamic we think is underappreciated by investors; (2) Traffic trends, which typically precede revenue by 3 quarters are inflecting due to agentic AI and will set Cloudflare up nicely to beat and raise Street numbers by ~5pp in 2H26, (3) Cloudflare is winning the best of the best AI-native customers, which validates their architecture and provides a long runway for growth."
