Will the Houston Texans have Brevin Jordan back soon?
That remains a mystery entering the first preseason game on Thursday night.
For the past several days, the veteran tight end who missed the past two seasons because of lower-body injuries has been sidelined. When asked about his status following Monday's training camp, Texans coach DeMeco Ryans mentioned that Jordan was once again dealing with a lower-body issue.
"Brevin's dealing with a knee right now, so he's kind of day-to-day," Ryans said. "We'll see how it goes with him."
Back in 2024, Jordan suffered a torn ACL in Week 2's win over the Chicago Bears and missed the rest of the season. A year later, Jordan was back at full speed before suffering another season-ending injury during practice. With a torn patellar tendon, it was another year lost to injury.

After having a severe knee injury with multiple torn ligaments that caused him to miss the entire 2025 season, wide receiver Tank Dell has returned to training camp for the Houston Texans.
Even though it is in a limited capacity, it is a step in the right direction to finally have him on the field. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans was certainly happy to see him able to get some time in during individual drills and running routes in camp.
"Tank looks really nice out there. You see him being explosive," Ryans said. "It's good to see him in routes when they're in individual drills. It's getting back in the swing of not doing things on the side. It gets lonely when you're in the return to football program and you're just off to the side working with the trainers. Now to get back in with your guys and actually do football things with football guys, it's really that big first step into the progression of getting back on the field. We're taking our time with Tank, allowing him to come along as he needs to in his time. He's doing an outstanding job with it. He looked really nice today, nice and crisp running his route. It's exciting anytime you see Tank on the field. As everybody understands, Tank's personality, his joy and love for football, you want to see that comeback story come to life. We're excited to see whenever that happens, we're all going to be very joyful for him."
There is currently no approximate timeline for when Dell will be able to play this season. However, he should certainly be back in action at some point this year.
Whenever he is able to come back, Dell will make an impact, especially after recording almost 1,400 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his first 25 NFL games.

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud likely still has a bad taste in his mouth from how last season ended.
In Houston's first playoff game, the Texans won despite Stroud's five fumbles. In their second playoff game against the New England Patriots, they could not overcome Stroud's four interceptions.
Even though the season ended in a downward spiral for Stroud, he is not letting last season affect his preparation for this year. During the early stages of training camp. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans has seen a more confident Stroud who's willing to take ownership of the offense.
"With C.J., what I'm seeing show up is just a guy who's confident in what he's doing," Ryans said Friday. "That's how everything has looked better because again, it's year two in the system. Anytime you're doing something for the second time around, you're more comfortable with it. Come training camp, we're able to install and add volume to our offense more so than we were able to do the first year and rightfully so. Everybody's just getting started, it's new, it's fresh and we're trying to see what everybody does well. C.J.'s done a great job of taking ownership of the offense. He's really communicated to his guys, getting everybody on the same page and you're seeing a confident player."
Ryans also mentioned that Stroud's ability to create separation with his legs should be more of a weapon this season.

The San Francisco 49ers worked out Ogbo Okoronkwo this past Sunday. On Wednesday morning, the team officially reunited Okoronkwo with Raheem Morris.
The former fifth-round pick out of the 2018 NFL Draft has played with some of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL, including Morris, DeMeco Ryans, Jim Schwartz, and Vic Fangio.
Okoronkwo, 31, has been a backup for most of his career. He played sparingly under Morris in the one year they spent together with the Rams. Okoronkwo actually played more in Los Angeles once Morris left. From the 2022 to 2024 seasons, he played around 400 snaps per season.
To date, Okoronkwo's best year came with the Texans in 2022, where he generated a 18.5% pressure rate, had 33 stops, and 5 sacks.
The 49ers are in need of edge rush help after losing a potential depth piece in Mikail Kamara to a torn ACL, Keion White with an adductor injury, and Cameron Sample to a knee injury. Mykel Williams remains on the active/PUP List, while Nick Bosa continues to work his way up to participating in 11-on-11 drills.

Last season, the Houston Texans featured one of the league's top defenses, ranking top-10 in nearly every statistical category. Perhaps their biggest win was keeping opponents at bay, as they allowed 20 points or less in 12 regular-season games.
Nine starters returned from the No. 1-ranked unit, but Houston needed to find a replacement for the interchangeable Denico Autry on the defensive line. Tampa Bay's defensive end Logan Hall played a role similar to Autry's during his four seasons with the Buccaneers, collecting 10 sacks, 101 tackles, including 15 for loss, and 23 quarterback hits.
Hall signed a two-year, $13.75 million contract this offseason with Houston and is already through the early stages of camp; he seems to be coming along the defensive line.

Hansen, who is currently fighting for a roster spot during the early stages of training camp, suffered a lower-body injury during team drills on Thursday. He was lifted into the back of the cart and carried off for further evaluation.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said on Saturday that Hansen would be monitored on a week-to-week basis for an ankle injury.
"We'll see," Ryans said if there was any major concern for Hansen's status going into 2026. "He's kind of week-to-week. We'll see how he progresses throughout camp."
An undrafted free agent out of Illinois, Hansen has been part of the Texans for the last four years after reuniting with former Illinois coach Lovie Smith. Mostly an impact on special teams, Hansen has been a reliable depth piece at linebacker, totaling over 80 career tackles. Last season, he recorded 19 tackles.

NEW DELHI: India's stand-in bowling coach Sunil Joshi has urged everyone to keep the spotlight firmly on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's batting, lavishing praise on the teenage sensation after his record-breaking knock in the opening T20I against Zimbabwe while revealing that the youngster's bowling will be developed gradually at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE).
Sooryavanshi lit up the Harare Sports Club with a breathtaking 18-ball half-century, becoming the youngest player to score a T20I fifty. His whirlwind innings, featuring four fours and four sixes, turned India's chase of 126 into a one-sided affair as the reigning T20 World Cup champions sealed victory with 40 ****** to spare and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Ahead of the second T20I, Joshi said the teenager's explosive batting should remain the primary focus.
"I think the first thing is, let's focus on his batting. He's been sensational and I'm glad that he has done well. This is a happy hunting ground for him. He performed well in the U19 World Cup finals here. He had a good performance yesterday as well," Joshi told reporters.
The former India spinner also disclosed that Sooryavanshi's bowling is part of the long-term plan.
"Vaibhav has been very comfortable with his batting. Whenever we get time in his bowling, I'll work with him in the CoE. Whenever we see him bowling well, we'll definitely and quickly focus on that," he said.
Joshi also called for patience with emerging seam-bowling all-rounder Suryansh Shedge, who has drawn comparisons with established stars such as Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube.
The stand-in bowling coach insisted every player has their own journey and warned against making premature comparisons.
"Look, we shouldn't compare. Suryansh is making his place in the Indian team. Hardik has made his place. Shivam has also made his place. So, he's a rising talent. We have to persist with him. He's working on good things and good areas. That's what we want in the T20 format," he said.
Joshi also highlighted the bowling depth available in India's squad, pointing to top-order batters Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, who can also contribute with the ball.
"I think all three are good bowlers and all-rounders, although Abhishek Sharma has improved a lot. The coaches always want him to improve every time for the better. We also have Tilak Varma with us. He's another optional bowler. We have conversations with him about not giving too many runs, bowling more dot ****** , and focusing on the basics," he further added.

For Ryans, he graded out with a 44 out of 50, which ranks 4th among active coaches.
"Ryans has quickly built a strong identity in Houston," Pulli wrote. "His leadership and incredible defensive background make him one of the brightest young coaches. Still just 41, expect to see Ryans and the Texans in plenty of big games in the future. If Houston can nail down its quarterback situation behind CJ Stroud, it should be perennial Super Bowl threats for years to come."

Another day, another Top 100 list with a slew of Houston Texans' players.
CBS Sports' Pete Prisco released his annual Top 100 players list, naming five Texans among the NFL's best for 2026. To no one's surprise, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and recently acquired Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett took home the top overall spot.
Both Pro Bowl defensive ends Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. were named among the top 40 players by Prisco. Anderson, who finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting, came in at No. 15 and ranked fourth among defensive ends. Hunter was a bit lower, appearing at No. 37 overall and ranking sixth among defensive ends.
All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. saw a dip in his rankings after being in the top 25 last season, dropping to No. 40 overall. Two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Nick Collins appeared in the top 80 at No. 79 after finishing inside the top 10 for receiving yards last season amid a 12-win campaign.

Indian-born bowling all-rounder Jai Mundra has received his maiden international call-up for Ireland, earning a place in the national squad for the upcoming T20I series against India.
Hailing from Tonk district in Rajasthan, the 28-year-old's selection has sparked celebrations among his family and hometown. Mundra was named in Ireland's 14-member squad for the two-match T20I series, setting up the possibility of an international debut against the country of his birth.
Mundra moved to Ireland in 2021 on a student visa to pursue an M.Tech degree. Alongside his studies and later his professional career, he continued to pursue cricket and steadily progressed through the ranks. After obtaining Irish citizenship in 2025, his consistent performances helped him catch the attention of selectors and earn a place in the national team.

Hailing from Tonk district in Rajasthan, the 28-year-old's selection has sparked celebrations among his family and hometown. Mundra was named in Ireland's 14-member squad for the two-match T20I series, setting up the possibility of an international debut against the country of his birth.
Mundra moved to Ireland in 2021 on a student visa to pursue an M.Tech degree. Alongside his studies and later his professional career, he continued to pursue cricket and steadily progressed through the ranks. After obtaining Irish citizenship in 2025, his consistent performances helped him catch the attention of selectors and earn a place in the national team.
Speaking to reporters, his mother Vidya Mundra expressed her delight at the achievement.
"Everyone is very happy. His childhood dream is coming true. It's a special feeling. Everyone is calling and coming to visit. We're all thrilled for him. He was studying and then got a job, but he always focused on cricket. He's been working hard and caught the eye of the selectors," she said.
India's tour of Ireland will feature a two-match T20I series from June 26 to June 28, 2026, with both games set to be played at the Stormont Cricket Ground in Belfast. The series will see Shreyas Iyer lead India in T20Is for the first time, while Lorcan Tucker will captain a youthful Irish side.

NEW DELHI: Young Mumbai and Punjab Kings all-rounder Suryansh Shedge, who earned his maiden India call-up on Tuesday after replacing the injured Nitish ******* ar Reddy in India's T20I squads for the series against Ireland and England, was naturally brimming with joy.
"Actually, I still can't sink it in, and I think I won't be able to sink it in until I get on the flight! I still can't believe it! This has been my dream since childhood. And obviously, it's a very special feeling. And I feel very proud and happy for my parents (Prashant and Priyadarshini), because of the sacrifices they have made for me. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been able to be a cricketer," the 23-year-old told TOI.
"My mom was working in a bank, but she quit her job because she had to accompany me to practice and matches," he revealed.
Shedge has been training under former India batter Jatin Paranjape for the last two years, with the former cricketer working hard to hone his ward's game.
Expressing gratitude to his coaches, Shedge said, "The way Manish Bangera, Jatin and Monty Desai have helped me through my journey, it's very heartwarming because they truly believed in me. If the environment is such that everyone knows my capabilities, and if they keep telling me constantly (about my abilities), self-belief comes automatically. So, that helped me a lot."
It will help Shedge that he has played under Shreyas Iyer, India's new T20 captain, for both Mumbai and Punjab Kings.
"That's totally true. In the last two years, I've made four debuts under him — in the SMAT, Vijay Hazare Trophy, India A and the IPL. He's somebody who gives his 100% in terms of attitude and commitment to the team, and that mentality creeps into the whole side," Shedge said.
Announcing Shedge's selection as Reddy's replacement after the latter suffered a quadriceps injury, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated, "Suryansh earned the call-up following a string of impressive performances for India A in the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka. Batting in the middle order, the 23-year-old scored 147 runs in five matches and also chipped in with the ball, bowling 23 overs across the tournament. He was also one of the standout performers for Mumbai in their victorious Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign in 2024-25, scoring 131 runs at a strike rate of 251.92 in the lower middle order."
Obviously, Shedge's ability to churn out big hits in the slog overs, along with contributing a few useful overs of medium pace, has earned the confidence of Ajit Agarkar and his fellow selectors.
India begin their tour with a two-match T20I series against Ireland in Belfast on Friday before taking on England in a five-match T20I series, starting in Chester-le-Street on July 1.
However, Shedge felt he "should have done better" in the tri-series in Sri Lanka.
"I didn't do well in the last two matches," he rued.
India are slated to play five T20Is and three ODIs in England in July.

NEW DELHI: India A's thrilling tri-series clash against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla had everything — a tied match, a Super Over, controversy, and an ugly post-match altercation involving teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. But long after Sri Lanka A sealed victory, one question continued to dominate discussions: why was a Super Over conducted despite rapidly deteriorating light?
The answer lies in a series of tense discussions, differing opinions and a determination to finish the contest that ultimately left players struggling to even see the ball.
According to a Sportstar report, India A captain Tilak Varma was keen to ensure the match produced a result and repeatedly urged the umpires to proceed with the Super Over after the scores were tied at the end of regulation play.
As players **** embled near the boundary ropes, the Indian skipper maintained there was still enough time to complete the tie-breaker.
The Sri Lankan camp, however, was far less certain. Players, officials and match referee Pradeep Jeyapragash engaged in prolonged discussions, with animated exchanges taking place as both sides debated whether conditions were suitable to continue. By the time consensus was reached, darkness had almost engulfed the venue.
Sources quoted by Sportstar revealed that the Indian team had been informed that the umpires retained the authority to halt proceedings if visibility deteriorated to an unsafe level. However, despite the worsening conditions, the match carried on, with pace bowlers operating under fading light that left many observers puzzled.
By the time Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Suryansh Shedge walked out to chase 17 runs, visibility had become a serious concern. From the stands, spectators found it difficult to track the ball. Players appeared equally uncomfortable.
