Tuesday's (4) Remo vs. Santos match was already set to be full of tension because of the 0-0 draw in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil round of 16.
And it certainly was.
There was a red card after VAR intervention, a shot off the post by the team down a man, a moment of concern involving Neymar, and then a goal from him — Rony Rústico — against the club that developed him.
Peixe battled, faced an opponent that never gave up, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition with a 1-0 win at Mangueirão.
It will be their first appearance among the tournament's final eight since 2021.

Early on Monday evening (3), Neymar attended the 6th Auction of the Neymar Jr. Project Institute.
The Santos star revealed that he would not stay for the entire ceremony because he needed to "go home and rest."
After all, Peixe faces Remo this Tuesday (4) in Belém, Pará, for the second leg of the 2026 Copa do Brasil round of 16 (first leg: 0-0).
Before the event, the No. 10 star vented against the press, asking them to "stop talking nonsense because this is going to end up making a lot of players sick."
"I just think a good part of the press is going to make all football players sick. I mean here in Brazil. It's the biggest profession, the best-known one here in Brazil, and the most attacked. So I think people need to be a little more careful with their words, with the news they put out, because most of it isn't true. And that ends up hurting the people around them, their fans, their own work. So I ask them to be more careful before posting these things, before talking nonsense that isn't real, because this is going to end up making a lot of players sick."

While Santos traveled for the Copa Sudamericana playoffs, Neymar took part in a professional poker tournament.
Rested by the coaching staff to avoid the strain of the long trip, Neymar used his days in São Paulo to participate in the fourth stage of the Brazilian Poker Championship (BSOP).
The No. 10 was not missed, and Peixe beat Universidad Central 4-1, all but securing a place in the Copa Sudamericana round of 16.
As he was left out of the traveling squad, the No. 10 made the most of his free time in the São Paulo capital and showed up at the Golden Hall of the WTC Complex alongside friends, even bringing a card protector with the Santos crest.

Santos has already defined its main strategy for the next transfer window: to negotiate players from the current squad.
According to ge, the black-and-white club’s board aims to secure financial relief to get the accounts in order and, with stronger cash flow, enter the market in search of new additions to strengthen the squad for the rest of the season.
Check below the information gathered by the website for Peixe’s transfer window.
The move mirrors the tactic adopted in the last two transfer windows. Marcelo Teixeira’s management aims to complete deals that reach the same financial level as the last two major departures from Vila Belmiro:
Luca Meirelles: The forward was transferred in the middle of last year to Shakhtar Donetsk, of Ukraine, for 12 million euros (around R$70.7 million at the current exchange rate).
