Six weeks after AI bets nearly wrecked his hedge fund, Leopold Aschenbrenner is putting money into the same companies again. His hedge fund, Situational Awareness, bought call options on AMD, Bloom Energy, CoreWeave, SK Hynix and SanDisk, CNBC reported, citing sources. The trades ran from late last week into this week.
The former OpenAI researcher became famous for a 2024 essay arguing that AI could reach human-level intelligence by 2027. He built an investment business around that belief, backing companies supplying the computing capacity and electricity AI needs.
July exposed how dangerous that bet had become. Borrowed money magnified falling share prices, triggering demands for cash the fund could not meet. **** ets shrank from a peak above $45 billion to roughly $10 billion, according to CNBC.
Ken Griffin's Citadel bought distressed holdings at a discount. Situational Awareness kept private investments, including Anthropic. The SEC later subpoenaed Wall Street banks over their dealings with the fund. The reported inquiry carried no allegation of wrongdoing.
His return uses call options: contracts that let buyers purchase shares at a fixed price before a deadline. When paid for upfront without borrowing, their losses are capped at the purchase cost. That entire amount can still disappear if the options expire worthless.

Wall Street delivered a sharp split on September 4. The S&P 500 fell 0.4% after a stronger-than-expected jobs report lifted rate concerns, but Sandisk jumped 11.9% and Micron gained 6.1%. The divergence matters because it was not a broad risk-on move. The pattern was consistent with investors rotating toward memory and storage suppliers that help keep AI systems fed with data. That put Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) and Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) at the center of the session.
Source: Sandisk Corporation
Sandisk offers the purer NAND and flash-storage argument. Its August results established data center as a key growth pillar, and management said it had signed five more new-business-model agreements since April. The bull case is that AI expands high-value enterprise storage demand while tighter supply supports pricing. The bear case is cyclicality: customer agreements cannot eliminate inventory swings, pricing reversals, or the execution risk that comes with a newly independent public company.
Professional ownership broadened before Friday's rally. Insider Monkey counted 128 hedge funds holding Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) at June 30, up from 114 at March 31. Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness LP disclosed 2,495,344 shares, about 119% more than the 1,140,119 shares reported in Q1. Those filings are quarter-end snapshots and do not show what the funds did during the September move.
Micron supplies both high-bandwidth memory and conventional DRAM and NAND. Its fiscal third-quarter revenue reached $41.46 billion, while Cloud Memory revenue rose to $13.77 billion and Core Data Center revenue to $11.52 billion. That operating leverage is the bull case. The counterargument is that extraordinary margins invite capacity additions, and today's scarcity economics may normalize faster than investors expect.

Elversberg will hope to live up to last week's standard as they travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the second matchday of the Bundesliga.
Eugen Polanski's side went 3-0 behind RB Leipzig when their ex-captain Rocco Reitz scored for the hosts last weekend. The former Bundesliga midfielder was hired by the club after a poor start to the season last term by Gerardo Seoane.
The 40-year-old is now a permanent coach at Borussia-Park, but there would be no guarantee to avoid a similar fate if things don't improve quickly. However, the injury crisis at the club could be one stumbling block to that challenge.
Team News
Enzo Leopold is the latest to be ruled out for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Fellow new signing Daiki Hashioka will also be absent for this one after his Bundesliga debut in Leipzig ended with injury.

Enzo Leopold is expected to be sidelined for several months after suffering an injury in training.
According to Bild, the Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder is believed to have torn his ACL.
If the diagnosis is confirmed, Leopold will not be able to play again until 2027.
The central midfielder only joined Die Fohlen on a free transfer from Hannover 96 this summer.
He has made one appearance for Gladbach so far this season, playing 20 minutes.

Moderna led the S&P 500 in August after reporting promising results from a late-stage trial of a personalized mRNA cancer vaccine it co-developed with Merck, according to CNBC. The data challenged years of skepticism about whether the company's mRNA technology could produce another major breakthrough following the decline of its Covid-19 vaccine business. "This is miraculous, so it got a miraculous welcome," CNBC's Jim Cramer said Monday.
Enterprise software stocks accounted for many of the index's other top performers. Palantir, Veeva Systems, Salesforce, and ServiceNow had each come under sustained selling pressure as investors grew skeptical that traditional software models could remain competitive against the backdrop of accelerating AI development, according to the outlet. Those declines were compounded by large short positions held by Situational Awareness, a leveraged hedge fund that had bet against software companies based on that thesis. When the fund was forced to unwind its trades in late July, those shorts became a tailwind for the stocks it had targeted. "As August comes to a grinding end, it's hard to believe that the reverberations of a hedge fund implosion could color so much of the month's action," Cramer said.
Situational Awareness, which was run by Leopold Aschenbrenner and peaked at $45 billion in **** ets at the start of July, lost roughly $35 billion after margin calls from prime brokers Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase forced a distressed sale of its publicly traded holdings to Ken Griffin's Citadel. The fund had used as much as 400% leverage and held large short positions in software names including Adobe alongside bullish bets on AI infrastructure stocks.
Among individual software stocks, Salesforce bounced back after better-than-expected quarterly results quieted fears of what Cramer called a "SaaSpocalypse," while ServiceNow gained ground after showing investors that AI could be folded into its platform without disrupting existing operations. Veeva Systems climbed in tandem with the wider software sector after the anticipated AI threat to its life sciences niche failed to materialize in any meaningful way. Gartner also joined the recovery, as worries that large AI models would erode the market for its research and advisory services turned out not to be borne out by the company's actual results.
Outside software, Newmont benefited from a recovery in gold prices, while Coinbase climbed as cryptocurrencies rebounded amid concerns about U.S. debt and government spending. Super Micro Computer and Sandisk also surged on strong demand for memory used in AI data centers.

Nvidia (NVDA) just posted another banger earnings report on Aug. 26, blowing past Wall Street's expectations as sales more than doubled and adjusted profit handily cleared estimates.
Then Raymond James raised the temperature further when the firm's 5-star ****** yst Simon Leopold dropped an eye-popping new Nvidia price target, which is comfortably above other major Wall Street forecasts.
Investors responded with force post earnings, as, per Bloomberg, Nvidia stock jumped 8.7% the following session to $227.9. This added $442 billion in market value, while finishing just below its record close after another punishing choppy stretch.
Moreover, it's important to note that Leopold's call lands after Nvidia stock has gained nearly 21% year to date and around 8% over the past three months, according to Seeking Alpha, despite concerns that AI spending, competition, and elevated memory costs might slow the company's momentum.
Leopold believes Wall Street is still underestimating Nvidia's massive scale and sees supply, rather than customer demand, as arguably the biggest obstacle ahead.

Wall Street has spent much of 2026 debating whether AMD is an Nvidia alternative or a genuinely different bet. On Aug. 25, one of the Street's higher-ranked chip ******* ysts made his position clear.
AMD shares jumped roughly 4% on the day. The upgrade came with a specific argument about where server chip revenue is headed that goes well beyond the usual AI trade.
Simon Leopold, Raymond James' semiconductor ******* yst, upgraded AMD to Strong Buy from Outperform and raised his price target to $641 from $565 on Aug. 25, implying roughly 40% upside from AMD's closing price that day, CNBC reported.
Leopold ranks 120th out of 12,496 ******* ysts tracked by TipRanks, with a 60% success rate and an average return of 30% per rating. His $641 target sits above the consensus average of roughly $613 across all ******* ysts covering AMD.

A screaming buying opportunity may exist in AMD (AMD) after a post-earnings sell-off earlier this month.
Raymond James ******* yst Simon Leopold upgraded his rating on AMD to Strong Buy from Outperform in a new note on Tuesday. He lifted his price target to $641 from $565, which ******* umes neatly 40% upside from current price levels.
The new price target puts Leopold above the average price target of his peers at $613, per Yahoo Finance AlphaSpace data. About 72% of Wall Street ******* ysts that cover AMD rate the stock a Strong Buy or Buy.
AMD stock rose 5% in afternoon trading in response.
Leopold thinks AMD, with its powerful AI chips, will be a key player in the agent-driven workforce. Moreover, he sees the server central processing unit (CPU) market increasing at a 44% five-year compound annual growth rate to about $201 billion by 2030.

When a high-profile investor suddenly exits a stock, people immediately ******* ume something is wrong with the company. In Sandisk's (SNDK) case, the opposite appears to be true. A new regulatory filing shows that Situational Awareness — the AI-focused hedge fund run by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner — built a large position in Sandisk during the second quarter, making it one of the fund's biggest holdings at more than $5.6 billion. Then an AI-based selloff hit in July, and the fund took heavy losses, forcing Situational Awareness to offload much of its public portfolio to Ken Griffin's Citadel.
The forced selling helps explain part of the brutal July slide for Sandisk, as from late June to late July, SNDK stock's price essentially halved. But this says nothing about the company itself. The selling came from a fund unwinding under pressure, not from anything breaking inside Sandisk's business. If anything, the fundamentals have become even stronger. Sandisk recently posted the best quarter in its history, with revenue up 372% from a year ago and record gross margins.

Intense volatility led to a meltdown of levered positions held by Leopold Aschenbrenner's hedge fund last month.
The market was caught off guard, and fears of wider contagion briefly circulated.
Polymarket says its users saw the issues that hit the fund forming long before the news broke.
The meltdown of Leopold Aschenbrenner's hedge fund may have come out of left field for many market watchers, but Polymarket says traders on its platform saw it coming.
The implosion of the AI wunderkind's Situational Awareness at the end of July shocked the market, with fears of wider contagion percolating before Citadel swooped in to buy the soured stock portfolio and stoke a fresh tech rally in the process.

Hedge fund giant Citadel on Thursday purchased a distressed portion of AI protege hedge fund Situational Awareness. The move sent a bullish shock through the U.S. stock market and was broadly credited with triggering Friday's positive market action. Situational Awareness, run by former OpenAI employee Leopold Aschenbrenner, had swelled to more than $20 billion in ***** ets in the two years since its founding.
That ramp up required heavy leverage, funded by banks. And as artificial intelligence-related stocks came under recent pressure, Situational Awareness could not keep up with margin calls forcing it to raise cash. Reuters reported that the California-based fund lost 67% of its value in July, after selling $16 billion of its public portfolio.
Citadel founder and fund manager Ken Griffin has made a long-term strategy of digging diamonds out of ash. Citadel made similarly aggressive moves during Enron's bankruptcy in 2001, during the meltdown of hedge fund Sowood Capital as the Great Recession took hold in 2007, and in propping up hedge fund Melvin Capital in 2021 as meme stock investors piled in against the firm's short bet on GameStop (GME).
"During market stress, the collective judgment of our business leaders, risk managers and portfolio managers enables us to capitalize on market opportunities when others, who depend on simplistic stop-loss approaches, cannot," Griffin wrote in a 2023 letter, as reported by Reuters.

The chip wipeout reached a climax this week. One of the AI boom's most prescient young investors was caught at the center of it.
Leopold Aschenbrenner's hedge fund lost 67% in July as leveraged AI bets unraveled, forcing the fund to sell most of its public holdings to Citadel and remove all leverage.
"We let you down this month," Aschenbrenner wrote to investors.
Yet the fund, Situational Awareness, remains up about 80% this year after a spectacular run before the sell-off. The thesis did not break first. The financing did.
The timing carries an eerie Wall Street echo.

How ironic that it would happen during duty for U-23s. In the final friendly match before Bayern Munich's U-23 season premiere, two U-19 talents filled in for those making their debuts for the Bavarians' senior team and duly picked up serious injuries. Bayern's official website has the details:
Painful news for Thibault Maspimby and Leopold Schmid : The [center back and defensive midfielder] suffered injuries in the FC Bayern Amateurs ' final pre-season friendly against SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball (1-3 ) on Sunday afternoon and will be sidelined for the time being. Maspimby, who came on as a substitute in the second half and made his debut for the Amateurs, suffered a knee injury. Schmid is out for now due to a forearm injury. We wish you both a speedy and full recovery!
Leopold Schmid had risen to prominence in the U-19s following David Santos Daiber's promotion to the U-23s in January 2026 and did an impressive job of filling the hole left behind. He would have hoped to have retained that momentum and perhaps push for a winter promotion to the U-23s of his own. He will need to regain the momentum now.
Thibault Maspimby, in the meantime, was an ever present for the U-17s last season and would have been so for the U-19s this season, as well. Hopefully this knee injury will turn out to be one of the less severe ones.

The recent AI stock meltdown was primarily driven by a margin unwind instead of weak fundamentals. More than 3% of South Korean adults received margin calls in July, with commonplace 500% margin loans getting wiped out. These investors focused heavily on AI stocks, especially SK Hynix and Samsung.
It then came out that Leopold Aschenbrenner's hedge fund, Situational Awareness LP, had to sell off all its holdings due to a margin call. His market-beating returns came down to picking the right AI stocks and using significant leverage. The recent correction cascaded into steep losses as Aschenbrenner looks to raise funds.

The fact that the margin unwind is a major catalyst should give AI stock investors a breath of relief. Fundamentals aren't the problem. In fact, they're getting better. As the margin unwind calms down, these three stocks look promising.

SEEKONK – Day 2 of qualifying play at the 2026 Rhode Island State Amateur wasn’t about moving up the leaderboard. With rain falling all day and winds picking up later, it was about survival.
Bobby Leopold survived a three-putt bogey on his opening hole and went on to shoot a 1-over 72, giving him a two-day score of 67-72-139 and medalist honors. Players who left Ledgemont Country Club at 7-over par hoping to make a playoff survived and were inside the cutline. Seven players will return Wednesday morning, trying to survive a playoff and earn the final spot in the match play portion of the tournament.
While the weather is set for a dramatic 180 for the rest of the week – minus potential storms Friday – survival will be the word of the day for the next two rounds. Match play is a different animal and keeping a steady hand as you ride the ups and downs is how you end up a champion.
So who will be the winner this week? You could wait for Friday – or you could check out predictions below.
Six players will battle for the No. 32 seed, but honestly there’s no point. Bobby Leopold isn’t losing the first match of the day. In a battle of two former Rhode Island All-Staters, No. 17 Cole Vieira is the pick over No. 16 Jasper Bruin Slot because his lefthandedness will prove to be advantageous – just don’t ask me how.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. Core Scientific, Inc. (NASDAQ:CORZ) ranks #2 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $389,086,756
Core Scientific (NASDAQ:CORZ) is another former Bitcoin miner in Situational Awareness's portfolio that is transitioning toward AI infrastructure. Core Scientific builds and operates large-scale data centers that provide the physical infrastructure — power, cooling, and ***** e — that AI computing requires. Its moat lies in its existing grid-connected power capacity, which is available to lease today, and its proven ability to deliver that capacity to customers on tight timelines. Most of its ***** ets are expected to be ready for service within the 12 to 14-month window that hyperscalers and neoclouds are actively trying to fill.
Its key customer is CoreWeave, the fast-growing AI cloud provider, which has contracted 590 MW of capacity from Core Scientific in total. Core Scientific (NASDAQ:CORZ) is already billing CoreWeave for 243 MW of that, equivalent to more than $350 million in annualized revenue, with the remaining 347 MW being delivered in stages through the next 12 months. The long-term anchor from this relationship is management's own guidance of approximately $850 million in average annual run-rate revenue from the CoreWeave contract over the next 12 years, with long-term gross margins guided at 75% to 80%.
In Q1 2026, total revenues rose 44% year over year, driven by colocation revenue, which was up 801% year-over-year.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. CleanSpark (NASDAQ:CLSK) ranks #5 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $104,469,943
CleanSpark (NASDAQ:CLSK) is a Bitcoin miner that is attempting a partial pivot toward AI infrastructure and data center development. Unlike peers such as Core Scientific and IREN, which have already secured major hyperscaler contracts, CleanSpark has not yet landed any major hyperscale customer. In Q1, revenue fell 25% year over year amid a decline in Bitcoin price.
But let's move beyond crypto and see what CleanSpark (NASDAQ:CLSK) plans for AI and data centers.
CleanSpark (NASDAQ:CLSK) currently has 808 MW of capacity in active use and has contracted an expansion to 1.8 GW — more than double its current operational footprint. Bulls point to this 1.8 GW of contracted power as a highly valuable **** et in today's AI economy where power is in chronic short supply.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. T1 Energy (NYSE:TE) ranks #6 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness StakeValue: $43,900,000 (NEW)
T1 Energy (NYSE:TE) is a US solar manufacturer that makes solar modules and is building out a solar cell factory. Its customers are primarily utility-scale solar developers. Its moat lies in its position as one of the few companies building an end-to-end domestic US solar supply chain, from polysilicon to finished panels, which could give it a competitive advantage as federal clean energy tax credits become harder to access for projects using equipment from foreign entities of concern, primarily China.
The bull case for T1 is linked to the AI data center buildout that is driving explosive growth in electricity demand. AI data centers require enormous amounts of power, and utility-scale solar is the fastest and cheapest way to add new electricity supply. The EIA expects utility-scale solar generation in Texas's ERCOT grid to surpass coal this year at 78 billion kWh and rise to 99 billion kWh in 2027 — and T1's two manufacturing sites are both located in Texas.
Short sellers are also targeting the stock. Fuzzy Panda Research disclosed a short position in T1 Energy (NYSE:TE), alleging undisclosed China ties, potential risks related to IRA tax credits, and concerns about accounting practices. The market largely shrugged off the report, with the stock rebounding sharply. Short interest currently stands at 17.58%.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) ranks #1 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $401,036,064
IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) is one of the top holdings in Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness portfolio as of Q1 2026. The company is in the middle of transitioning from a Bitcoin miner into a pure-play AI infrastructure provider. Crypto mining still accounts for roughly 77% of total revenue, but bulls are focused more on where the business is heading than where it stands today.
The AI side is growing fast. In fiscal Q3, AI cloud revenue rose 94% year over year. IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) currently has $3.1 billion in annual recurring revenue. This revenue is locked in under long-term contracts that renew on a predictable basis. The key deal is a five-year, $9.7 billion agreement with Microsoft signed in November 2025, under which IREN's GPUs will be used to provide cloud services to the tech giant. On top of that, IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) secured a $3.4 billion five-year contract with Nvidia in early 2026 to build an AI cloud platform running Blackwell GPUs.
Bulls also point to two recent acquisitions. The first was Nostrum Group, a data center developer with terms undisclosed, which adds a local team in Spain and expands IREN (NASDAQ:IREN)'s guaranteed grid connectivity by 480 MW — addressing one of the key bottlenecks in scaling AI infrastructure. The second was Mirantis, a cloud software provider acquired for $625 million in shares, which brings roughly 1,500 corporate clients and deep expertise in managing AI computing workloads. This acquisition is significant because IREN had the hardware but lacked the software layer needed to offer customers a complete cloud environment — Mirantis fills that gap and should also help IREN (NASDAQ:IREN) shift from volatile spot contracts toward more predictable recurring revenue.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. Power Solutions International (NASDAQ:PSIX) ranks #8 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $26,318,424
Power Solutions International (NASDAQ:PSIX) is a small-cap industrial company with a market cap of roughly $866 million that makes engines and power systems. It sells these primarily to industrial customers, with oil and gas being its largest end market. Its moat lies in its specialized engine manufacturing expertise and its established relationships with industrial and energy customers. Most of its revenue still comes from the oil and gas sector.
Since 2024, management has been attempting to reorient the business toward data center engines, which carry higher margins. The key facility driving this shift is its Wisconsin plant, which is currently in the middle of a capacity ramp-up. Management has said data center demand remains "solid" and expects sales to accelerate in the second half of 2026 as Wisconsin comes online.
In Q1 2026, net income and gross profit fell and results disappointed Wall Street. Management pointed to three causes: softer demand in oil and gas tied to elevated energy prices from the Middle East conflict, timing of certain power systems shipments that pushed revenue recognition beyond Q1, and elevated production costs from the Wisconsin ramp-up.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. SharonAI Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:SHAZ) ranks #9 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $18,095,535 (NEW)
SharonAI rents out AI chips. If you need massive computing power to train models but don't want to spend billions building a data center, you rent from them instead. They work with AI labs, big tech companies, research shops, and industries with strict rules about where their data lives.
The company has a solid edge: it's one of just three Nvidia Cloud Partners in Australia. That means they get first dibs on Nvidia's newest chips and can sell directly to enterprise customers without jumping through middlemen.
SharonAI just landed two big deals. First was a $1.25 billion contract with ESDS, an IT services firm in India. They'll start recognizing revenue in September 2026. They also grabbed a $950 million deal (take-or-pay agreement) with an unnamed tech giant in Asia-Pacific. Money flows in Q3 or Q4 2026.

We just covered Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness Reveals Its 10 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks. Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) ranks #7 (see Situational Awareness Top 5 Under-The-Radar AI Stock Picks).
Situational Awareness Stake Value: $29,751,243
Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) is a Bitcoin miner founded in 2021 that is now pivoting toward AI cloud services. What makes it stand out from its peers is its vertical integration strategy. Instead of buying mining hardware from third parties, Bitdeer designs and manufactures its own proprietary SEALMINER chips and machines. This gives it control over its supply chain, cost structure, and deployment pace.
However, Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) has not yet announced a major anchor tenant deal the way peers have. IREN landed a $9.7 billion five-year contract with Microsoft, TeraWulf secured a $3.7 billion 10-year deal with Fluidstack, and Hut 8 signed a $7 billion 15-year Google-backed deal with Fluidstack. The absence of that kind of headline deal is believed to be the primary reason Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ:BTDR) has lagged peers on price action over the past year.
On the Q1 earnings call, management said the AI cloud customer mix has shifted toward three- to five-year enterprise contracts, which supports a more durable and predictable revenue stream going forward and reduces the risk that high GPU utilization is just a short-term spike.

CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) has featured in the 13F portfolio of Situational Awareness LP since the first quarter of 2025. Back then, this position comprised 1.2 million shares and was sold off by the next quarter. A new position was then opened in the third quarter of 2025. This comprised 4.1 million shares. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the fund added to it by 48%, growing the stake to over 6 million shares. Filings for the first quarter of 2026 show that the fund owned over 7.1 million shares in the firm, up close to 18% compared to the previous quarter. The firm operates as a cloud infrastructure technology company in the United States. The company is part of a group of crypto firms that have transitioned into AI infrastructure in recent years. Leopold Aschenbrenner is bullish on this trend.
CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWV) is the fastest cloud infrastructure provider in history to cross major revenue milestones. For the twelve months ending March 2026, the Trailing Twelve Month revenue was $6.23 billion, a 217.6% increase year-over-year. Looking strictly at Q1 2026, quarterly revenue came in at $2.08 billion, a 111.6% increase compared to the $0.98 billion posted in Q1 2025. Management officially guided full-year FY2026 revenue to between $12 billion and $13 billion, indicating that the sequential growth curve is actively steepening as more clusters come online. In May 2026 earnings, CoreWeave announced that the revenue backlog had reached nearly $100 billion. This represents a jump from the $66.8 billion backlog reported at the end of fiscal 2025 and a nearly 400% increase over early 2025.
While we acknowledge the potential of CRWV as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. We just covered From Fired Researcher to $13.7 Billion King: How Leopold Aschenbrenner Broke the Hedge Fund World and Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) ranks 8th on this list.
Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) is a new addition to the 13F portfolio of Situational Awareness LP. The fund declared a new stake in the company in filings for the first quarter of 2026. This stake consists of PUT bets worth close to 1.7 million shares. Previously, Leopold Aschenbrenner had bought a stake in this chip giant in the third quarter of 2025. This position consisted of PUT bets worth 300,000 shares and was sold off completely by the next quarter. Micron designs, develops, manufactures, and sells memory and storage products. Latest reports from Goldman Sachs suggest that NVIDIA and Micron together will account for a third of S&P 500 EPS growth this year alone.

Even as Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) rides the AI wave, it is facing competitive headwinds. With calendar 2026 HBM capacity fully locked in, supply chain allocations for upcoming advanced architectures show a distinct shift. NVIDIA reportedly selected SK Hynix and Samsung over Micron for the primary, high-volume supply allocations of top-tier ultra-advanced platforms. Memory is historically a commodity. If Micron loses out on the highest-margin, tier-1 architectural slots to SK Hynix and Samsung, it will be forced to compete on price for secondary allocations. Hedge funds argue that Micron is being priced at a premium multiple, yet it remains highly vulnerable to being out-scaled by foreign competitors who operate with lower structural capital costs.
While we acknowledge the potential of MU as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

We just covered From Fired Researcher to $13.7 Billion King: How Leopold Aschenbrenner Broke the Hedge Fund World and Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) ranks 7th on this list.
Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) has featured in the 13F portfolio of Situational Awareness LP since the third quarter of 2025. Back then, this position consisted of around 115,000 shares. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Leopold Aschenbrenner added to this holding by over 800%, growing it to over a million shares. Filings for the first quarter of 2026 reveal that the fund owns 1.14 million shares in the company, up 8% compared to the previous quarter. The firm develops, manufactures, and sells data storage devices and solutions using NAND flash technology in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and internationally. The share price of Sandisk has jumped over 600% in the past six months.
Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) has emerged as one of the most important AI plays, with investment advisory Barclays terming memory the most attractive vertical below accelerators. Training advanced LLMs and running Agentic AI applications creates massive data lakes that require high-speed, non-volatile memory and Solid State Drives (SSDs) rather than traditional spinning hard drives. In fiscal Q3 2026 earnings, SanDisk reported that Enterprise SSD revenue surged 114% year-over-year. This enterprise push drove total corporate gross revenue well past consensus Wall Street estimates. Shifting the sales mix away from low-margin consumer micro-SD cards and USB drives toward premium AI-optimized Enterprise Data Center SSDs expanded corporate Gross Margin to 44.5%, up 1,200 basis points from the historical baseline.
While we acknowledge the potential of SNDK as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.

We just covered From Fired Researcher to $13.7 Billion King: How Leopold Aschenbrenner Broke the Hedge Fund World and Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) ranks 6th on this list.
Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) is the largest bull position in the 13F portfolio of Situational Awareness LP. In filings for the first quarter of 2026, the fund revealed it owned close to 6.5 million shares in the company, down close to 35% compared to filings for the fourth quarter of 2025. This bet is an excellent case study into the investing acumen of Leopold Aschenbrenner. Over the past six months, the share price of the firm has jumped close to 170% and Aschenbrenner has capitalized handsomely on this gain. The core thesis remains the same. Data center operators can buy all the GPUs they want, but standard utility grids cannot supply electricity fast enough to power them. The solid-oxide fuel cells of Bloom bypass the grid entirely by providing immediate, off-grid, on-site baseload power using natural gas or hydrogen.
In the Q1 2026 earnings report, Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) reported record-breaking revenue of $751.1 million, up 130.4% year-over-year from $326 million in Q1 2025. This obliterated Wall Street consensus estimates, which expected a modest $531 million to $552 million. The top-line acceleration was driven by the Product segment, which surged 208.4% to $653.3 million, accounting for 87% of total corporate revenue. The crown jewel of this validation is the selection of Bloom as the exclusive power provider for the Project Jupiter AI data center cluster. Bloom is contracted to provide up to 2.45 gigawatts of continuous, on-site power to the site. To put this into context, 2.45 GW is enough electricity to power roughly 1.8 million homes, or roughly 2.5 times the total power capacity of all data centers built in Northern Virginia.
While we acknowledge the potential of BE as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. If you're looking for an extremely undervalued AI stock that also stands to benefit significantly from Trump-era tariffs and the onshoring trend, see our free report on the best short-term AI stock.
