Bristol Bears have signed former Leicester Tigers lock Harry Wells on a short-term deal.
The 32-year-old spent more than a decade with the Tigers and was part of the side that won the Premiership ****** le at Twickenham in 2022 and last season's Prem Rugby Cup.
The experienced forward, who can operate across the second row and back row, made 236 appearances for Leicester and has joined Bears from fourth-tier side Oundle on a three-month deal.

A former Nebraska running back made his professional debut on Saturday afternoon. Emmett Johnson had 12 carries for 59 yards in the Kansas City Chiefs' 20-12 preseason loss to the L.A. Rams.
Johnson was selected by the Chiefs with pick 161 in the fifth round. The Minneapolis native is the first Husker running back selected in the NFL draft since the Detroit Lions selected Ameer Abdullah with pick 54 in the second round. Johnson was named the Big Ten Running Back of the Year for his performance last season.
In 12 games last season, he had 1,451 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He also had 46 catches for 370 yards, bringing his all-purpose yards total to 1,821 yards, second in the nation for running backs.
Johnson appeared in 41 games in his Nebraska career and recorded 2,460 yards in 458 carries. He joins a Chiefs team that ranked near the bottom of the NFL in rushing last season.
Running back Kareem Hunt led the team with 611 rushing yards. Johnson's role will likely expand beyond special teams as the season unfolds, but he is ready to do whatever the team asks of him if he can help the team win.

Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington returned to the court on Monday night after she was ejected from Saturday's game against the Indiana Fever for a hard foul on Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. Even though that return came on the road, she still received quite a warm reception from the fans in attendance.
As usual, Carrington began Monday night's game on the bench. But when she checked into the game early in the first quarter, she was showered with cheers from the opposing fans following the incident with Cunningham and her subsequent ejection.
The play in question occurred during the first quarter of Saturday night's game when Cunningham went up for what appeared to be an open layup, and Carrington struck her in the head from behind, sending her slamming into the ground.
After a review, Carrington was issued a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected from the contest.
"Clearly, I think it was like, unnecessary. I've never really spoken to her and have no beef with her, but I guess she has some pent-up stuff. So get your [expletive] off. That's fine. I can take it." Cunningham said after the game via Kareem Copeland.

Shaquille O'Neal has been a staunch defender of LeBron James' move from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, squashing any criticism of NBA's all-time leading scorer being a ring-chaser.

The bar to be in the top-five is really high, and it'll take one of these fringe Round 1 RBs to accumulate enough pass-game work to pair with a very strong goal-line role. Walker is my favorite roll of the dice, especially on Yahoo, where his ADP is well into Round 2.
The Chiefs paid him handsomely after a Super Bowl MVP with the Seahawks, and that was their only skill position change of the offseason, one that featured their top receiver going to jail and their top tight end going on honeymoons with the most famous woman in the world. Walker will be the focal point of the offense as Patrick Mahomes comes back from a torn ACL. When head coach Andy Reid had quality backs, he turned them into fantasy football league-winners. Duce Staley, Brian Westbrook, LeSean McCoy, Kareem Hunt, etc. Walker could match what Shady McCoy did in his final three seasons with Reid: a 1,825 scrimmage-yard pace. I'd also argue this is the best OL that Walker will run behind, so his explosive play rate could jump another tier.

Generally speaking, most people consider either Michael Jordan or LeBron James to be the GOAT of professional basketball. Jordan was an incredible presence from 1984 to 2003, minus his first two retirements. As for James, he started playing in the NBA in 2003 and, for better or worse, is still playing (he is not the player he used to be, and at some point, his diminishing skills will hurt his legacy).
As we said, most people would go with one of them for the greatest of all time, but not everyone. Take Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Kareem has a somewhat forgotten choice: Oscar Robertson. Robertson was somewhat overshadowed in the 1960s by the Boston Celtics, and the Lakers, first with Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, and later with Wilt Chamberlain, but was he truly great?
Absolutely, he was, and this video makes a plausible argument for placing him ahead of Jordan and James.
Robertson, first and foremost, was decades ahead of his time. He was a 6-5 point guard who averaged a triple-double. He was immensely skilled, and strong enough to box out much bigger players.

"At the beginning of our relationship, we weren't even sure we wanted one. We used to joke that, in a world full of husbands and wives, we'd still be calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend well into our 80s," Muslimova told the outlet.
