Bethenny Frankel is facing more criticism over her new Supermodel Café after the reality star's latest business venture encountered problems almost immediately after opening.
Mixed reviews are pouring in following its opening in the Hamptons, with The Washington Post praising the atmosphere while taking issue with much of the food.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum opened the pink-and-white café in East Quogue, New York, on August 13, drawing a major crowd of customers eager to try the menu she developed with Goldberg's Famous Bagels.
Mega
But according to The Washington Post's Aug. 21 review, the food did not live up to the excitement surrounding the café.

Brian Hickerson's second attempt to clear felony domestic violence convictions involving Hayden Panettiere was denied three days before the actress died, after prosecutors challenged representations that he was now sober.
At an Aug. 13 hearing in Los Angeles, the prosecution cited a May interview Hickerson gave about his past relationship with Panettiere and alleged that he appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant. Court records obtained by PEOPLE show prosecutors also pointed to his 2025 encounters with law enforcement while opposing the petition.
Hickerson had asked the court to dismiss two felony convictions for corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant from a domestic violence case in which Panettiere was a victim. Judge Olivia Rosales rejected the request, saying Hickerson had not remained free of new offenses.
The hearing took place three days before Panettiere died at age 36 in Greenville, South Carolina. Her death remains under investigation, and authorities have not established any connection between the allegations raised during Hickerson's court hearing and the circumstances of her death.
The interview cited in court was conducted by TMZ's Charlie Neff in May, ahead of the publication of Panettiere's memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. In the original TMZ interview, Hickerson discussed Panettiere's account of their abusive relationship and acknowledged conduct described in the book, including an incident in which he threatened her with a phone. "I did it. I did it," Hickerson said while discussing that episode.

Hoda Kotb's unusually emotional encounter with a stranger on an airplane did not end when the flight landed. The former Today anchor now says she and the mystery man have recently started texting.
Kotb shared the update during her Aug. 21 return to Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, while immediately cautioning viewers not to read too much into it. "This is not a real love connection," she said before explaining how the story had unexpectedly continued.
The pair first met on a flight and later crossed paths again when Kotb traveled to Cannes for work with her Joy 101 company. She initially thought the connection had faded after that second encounter, but revealed Friday that they have since resumed contact.
When Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones pressed for details, Kotb confirmed that the man is single and described him as "really cute" and "very handsome." She still refused to define what the connection might become, saying, "There are connections. I don't know what it is."
Kotb said the original encounter began simply because she happened to be seated beside the man on a flight, but their conversation became much more personal than either apparently expected. "It was the weirdest connection in the world. We were both crying," she recalled during her Aug. 21 appearance.

In my day job, I am an English professor. This is relevant because in my hobby of writing about football, I frequently encounter people who forget that words mean things. ESPN just released a ranking of NFL positional groups that includes this statement: "you would be surprised by what you can learn sitting down and objectively grading and/or ranking each positional unit of all 32 teams."
This is probably true. The author of the article should try it some time. "Objectively," per Merriam-Webster, involves "evaluation with a basis in observable facts rather than feelings or opinions." He then proceeds to just rattle off a bunch of rank lists without actually providing any criteria for how the lists were composed. To be clear–this is an author writing to the standard of "trust me bro" and vibes, and it says a lot about the state of ESPN and sports journalism in general.
Because a detailed ***** ysis of everything wrong with the article would take framing and ***** ysis that exceeds what the low quality of its argumentation deserves, I am simply going to focus on three Bears-centric rankings that make me wonder whether or not the author was even bothering.
ESPN ranks Chicago's running back room as 24th in the NFL. In 2025, Chicago had the 4th-best rushing attack in the league by EPA/run, and it was one of only ten teams in the league that had positive value in EPA per run. Not only was Chicago third in total rushing yards, it was one of only three teams in the league with two running backs (Swift and Monangai) with at least 25 attempts in the top twenty in terms of success rate and EPA per rush. Those two were 12th and 21st in terms of yards per carry in terms for backs with at least 50 rush attempts, and 3rd and 19th in terms of total EPA.
Either would be the basis of a rushing attack above 24th in the league, and Chicago has both of them. By any objective standard, Chicago has a 1-2 punch at running back that is near the top of the league. If the concern is that Chicago's third running back is going to bring down the rest of the group, we would need to believe that 23 teams in the NFL have third-string running backs sufficient to make up the difference over this pairing.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have come unusually close to another post-divorce encounter in Los Angeles, but there is no evidence yet that the former spouses actually spent time together.
Both were photographed at the same West Hollywood office building on Aug. 20. Just Jared reported that Lopez and Affleck were each seen leaving the building that day, creating the possibility that their visits overlapped.
One detail made the timing particularly noticeable. Photographers noted that Affleck's purple Cadillac was parked nearby when Lopez arrived and would have been clearly visible to her.
They had a remarkably similar office-building overlap while separated in 2024 and later reunited publicly for a movie they were both professionally involved in.
The Aug. 20 photographs establish that Lopez and Affleck were at the same West Hollywood office complex during the same general period. They do not show the two arriving together, leaving together or interacting inside or outside the building.

Cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr. has encountered his share of talented young receivers at Ohio State, covering wave after wave of them during practices over the last four years.
But he thinks there's something different about this year's class of freshmen.
"It's probably the best freshman class I've seen," Mathews said. "The freshmen are nice."
Mathews' comments during preseason training camp added to the buzz surrounding the group led by Brock Boyd and Chris Henry Jr.
While their backgrounds are varied, Boyd and Henry have stood out since spring practices in March and April. They were the first freshmen at any position to lose their black stripes, a milestone for newcomers to the program.

Cynthia Bailey revealed Vicki Gunvalson didn't recognize her while filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. The 59-year-old said that Gunvalson had "no idea" who she was, joking that "she might've been a little afraid" of her.
During an exclusive interview with Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea along with Crystal Kung Minkoff, Bailey recalled her awkward interaction with Gunvalson. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said, "I go up to Vicki [and] she literally has no idea who I am."
Gunvalson failed to recognize Bailey, who was dressed as 50 Cynt, the male alter ego she created. Bailey introduced the character during a Halloween party in Season 10 of RHOA while celebrating her 50th birthday. Bailey said she expected Gunvalson to realize she was part of the cast. The encounter happened while they were filming at a party in Atlanta.
Bailey recalled that Gunvalson looked at her like she was "crazy," prompting her to reveal that she was Bailey. Gunvalson then appeared confused, leading Bailey to clarify that she was Cynthia Bailey from The Atlanta Housewives. However, Gunvalson responded with surprise, admitting that she didn't know who Bailey was. Minkoff pointed out that she had previously appeared on Gunvalson's podcast and acknowledged that it can be easy for the Housewives to get mixed up with one another.
Gunvalson and Bailey both star in The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, the franchise's fifth season, which made its debut on August 9. The pair are part of the show's core cast, joining Lisa Barlow, Teresa Giudice, Porsha Williams, Kyle Richards and Gizelle Bryant. The series premieres on Bravo as the cast embarks on a cross-country road trip celebrating 20 years of The Real Housewives.

Denver Broncos cornerback Riley Moss is not planning on being any less aggressive in what could be a make-or-break season for the fourth-year defender.
Moss has never been shy about attacking the football during his time with the Broncos. In fact, he's had to do it more out of necessity after starting opposite of 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain. Moss was penalized 10 times in 2025; sometimes it was correct, and sometimes it seemed like Moss was unfairly targeted. After an offseason of intense training, Moss is ready to prove his worth.
"My parents have always told me this, I like to learn the hard way," Moss said in early August. "It actually helps me out in those situations because, yes, they're going to throw the flag because I'm being too aggressive, but even 'VJ' (defensive coordinator Vance Joseph) will tell me, 'Keep going out there. Keep playing aggressive.' It happens."
To his credit, Moss has had a tremendous training camp, breaking up passes all over the field. Moss has consistently been listed by Denver media as a standout at practice. In Week 1 of the preseason against the Atlanta Falcons, Moss even picked off a pass, which many see as proof of a big year in the making. "I know I need to do better as a whole this season," Moss admitted. "It's been a big focus of this camp. I'm still going to play aggressive and not shy away from it."
Coach Sean Payton also doesn't think that Moss should shed the aggressive nature of his play, even with the penalty troubles Moss encountered in 2025. "There were some tough calls against him as well that I think go with the position," Payton said. "He certainly doesn't back away from that, and I think that's important, especially at that position."

ST. LOUIS — Gary Woodland doesn't need any reminders about the challenges he has encountered over the last three years, the surgery he underwent in 2023 to remove a lesion from his brain and his subsequent battle with post-traumatic stress disorder that forces him to keep constant anxiety in check while competing at the highest level of professional golf.
But there he was last week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis meeting with an 11-year-old boy from New Zealand after the youngster followed the former U.S. Open champion around TPC Southwind. The boy has an inoperable brain tumor.
Woodland shared this anecdote on Thursday after the first round of the BMW Championship. And just seeing the look in his eyes relaying that moment in Memphis said so much about how he ***** ses what his career has come to mean to others and not just himself.
"I think I got a lot of perspective over the last couple years. I know I'm fighting for a lot more than playing golf," he said. "I'm hopefully having a positive impact on a lot of people's lives just showing up and fighting. Knowing that I'm struggling every day, and hopefully … I'm having a bigger impact than just showing up and showing that I can still compete and play out here and live my dreams. That's the big deal is I'm struggling and I'm still living my dreams. I hope people see that and try to do the same thing."
Woodland's dream took a fairytale turn in late March when he won the Texas Children's Houston Open less than a month after revealing that he suffers from PTSD. That victory, his fifth career ***** le on the PGA Tour and first in almost seven years, is easily the most inspirational story of the year, one that was a triumph of the spirit more than a conquering of a golf course and a field of talented competitors.

Former Formula 1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer believes Max Verstappen is continuing to improve and has still not reached his peak performance.
During an episode of the High Performance Racing podcast alongside host Jake Humphrey and former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley, Szafnauer discussed the standout drivers he has encountered during his career in the paddock.
When Humphrey prompted the panel to name the greatest drivers they had worked alongside and competed against, Szafnauer named four-time champion Sebastian Vettel as the best driver he had worked with before turning his attention to the fiercest rivals he had faced while on the pitwall.
"Greatest I worked with, Vettel. Greatest I went up against, tough either Michael [Schumacher] or Lewis [Hamilton]," Szafnauer explained.
When asked why he didn't consider four-time champion Verstappen, he added: "Well, I don't think Max is at his peak yet. I think he's going to get better."

The conversation stemming from Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham's comments on transgender athletes added another plot point on Thursday, with a prominent sports columnist saying he resigned due to censorship over the topic.
Matt Calkins, who penned columns for The Seattle Times for more than a decade, announced on X this afternoon that he was stepping down.
"After 11 years as a sports columnist at The Seattle Times, I have decided to resign," Calkins wrote. "It was entirely my choice, and it was not an easy one. The impetus was the Times declining to run a column I wrote from the perspective of two female student athletes who were opposed to competing against biological males. It was one of several pieces of mine that had been spiked, and I no longer felt like I could properly do my job as a columnist."
Calkins, who also said he "enjoyed my time with the paper" and "have no animosity toward anyone who works there," went into greater detail on what led to his decision on his personal Substack.
While covering a WNBA game last month between the Seattle Storm and the Fever, Calkins encountered two teenage girls who were part of a pregame protest supporting Cunningham's views on keeping transgender women out of women's sports. After speaking with them, Calkins said he felt they weren't anti-trans and decided to write a column arguing that "supporting the separation of biological females and males doesn't automatically make you transphobic."

(Corrects paragraph 4 to show the Israeli settler appeared to be holding a code book of Jewish law, not a Torah)
By Pesha Magid, Ammar Awad and Sinan Abu Mayzer
QUSRA, West Bank, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Palestinian American Loui Ridi raised a giant American flag over his West Bank home, hoping it might deter militant settlers besieging ‌the property. But it wasn't enough to stop one of them from walking onto Ridi's land on Tuesday, during a tense face-off.
Ridi arrived in Qusra late on Monday after traveling from ‌the U.S., fearing he could lose the property to Jewish settlers who have encircled three Palestinian homes in the village for more than a week, prompting U.S. condemnation.
Ridi, who grew up in the village in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, was taking a morning walk among his cherry and fig trees on Tuesday when a settler approached from the hill above, in an encounter filmed by Reuters, the only media outlet present.

Alan Dershowitz said he is still a pariah on his beloved Martha's Vineyard, and fellow island vacationer Larry David still won't speak to him.
For several years now, Dershowitz has lamented his fallen status on the island, starting around the time he acted as defense counsel in President Donald Trump's first impeachment trial. Dershowitz, a staunch Democrat for 67 years, registered as a Republican this year.
On Tuesday, The Atlantic published an interview with Dershowitz by Mark Leibovich, who spoke with the famous lawyer and professor emeritus at Harvard Law. The piece is ****** led, "Alan Dershowitz Won't Forget What Larry David Did To Him."
Until 2021, Dershowitz and the Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator were friends, or at least friendly with one another. But that year, there was an ugly encounter at the Chilmark General Store, which Leibovich recounted thus:
And then there was the infamous clash at the Chilmark General Store with Dershowitz's now very-much-ex-friend Larry David. In the annals of Dershowitz's social spiral on the Vineyard, this conflagration has taken on almost-mythic dimensions, like his own personal Stalingrad. Dershowitz was sitting on the porch of the store with another friend, "who happened to be a very kind of radical woke lefty from New York, but very tolerant," he told me. David was not very tolerant, at least of Dershowitz. He walked onto the porch, refused to shake Dershowitz's hand, called him "disgusting," and stormed off. Dershowitz said at the time that David was so irate, Dershowitz worried that the comedian might suffer a stroke.

After a blistering start to their domestic season, Celtic will begin their Champions League campaign on Wednesday night by hosting LASK in the first leg of the play-off round. The spirit must be high in the camp after the weekend's thumping 4-0 League Cup win at Tannadice Park against Dundee United. But the Austrian heavyweights, who won their first league ****** le in 61 years, would be more resolute in deep defence.
Meanwhile, the LASK boss Dietmar Kühbauer considers the home side favourites for this European encounter. However, he calls for a balanced and proactive performance in Glasgow rather than a purely defensive approach, and this midweek contest would be a tactical battle between two domestic champions in their first-ever competitive meeting for a lucrative league-phase spot in this coveted tournament.
The Hoops are weighing up a move for another goalkeeper. But they are not in a rush, thanks to Viljami Sinisalo's command and composure ever since replacing the injured Kasper Schmeichel between the sticks earlier this year.

Alistair Johnston's injury is a massive blow, and the gaffer Martin O'Neill is likely to rely on Colby Donovan down the right, having preferred him over Anthony Ralston in recent fixtures. Liam Scales got the nod against the Tangerines as a left fullback, but could make way for Kieran Tierney, who remains the preferred choice for his flair, finesse and trademark crosses. The USMNT duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty should continue as the first-team central defensive pairing.

With both clubs finishing the previous season in mid-table and level on the same number of points, Derby County and Sunderland's 1951/1952 opener seemed like it could be an intriguing affair between two evenly matched sides.
It was the second season running that the Lads were facing the Rams in their first fixture and they went into the game hoping to repeat their 1-0 Roker Park victory of a year before.
In the meantime, the teams had also played out a cracker in December 1950 that ended with the hosts winning 6-5, giving Bill Murray's men a painful memory to avenge, whilst there was a friendly rivalry between ex-teammates to be considered as well, with former Sunderland man Ken Oliver coming up against his old pals including Tommy McLain, who he had first encountered when they served in the RAF together in Sri Lanka during World War II.
Oliver proved to be one of Derby's stronger performers in the end, although McLain came away the happiest, scoring what was to be his only goal in Sunderland colours — and a beauty at that.
Whereas it was a rare strike for the half-back, it was one of several in the match itself as another end-to-end affair ensued, and it brought the visitors level following a lightning start from County that had initially caught their opponents cold.

Jack Whaley became only the second Englishman to win the US Amateur Championship since 1911 as he beat American Jay Leng Jr 4&3 at Merion.
Victory will give the 22-year-old a place in the field for the Masters, US Open and The Open at St Andrews in 2027.
Whaley, who attends Florida State University, came into the contest as a major underdog against Leng Jr, who is 23rd in the world amateur golf rankings, some 67 places higher than the 22-year-old from Doncaster.
The on-course form looked to be following the rankings as Whaley slipped two down after the opening 18 holes in Sunday's 36-hole encounter.
However, Whaley fought back superbly, making back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes of his second round on his way to winning four holes consecutively.

Worlds collided last month when the Tennessee ******* ans sideline mascot T-Rac hit it off with a real-life raccoon while on set photographing his new look.
Nashville's National Football League team first unveiled its new logo, uniform, and official colors in spring 2026, and a few months later, T-Rac's rebrand came. Instead of brown fur and bright blue eyes, he now has more realistic gray fur and a friendlier gaze. As part of the promo photoshoot that took place in July, the ******* ans extended an invite to Gizzard, one of the raccoons at Nashville-based wildlife rescue Vermin Sanctuary.
"Obviously she took the ******* ignment very seriously," Vermin Sanctuary founder Kara Kirkland said in a social media post. "Raccoons are Tennessee's state wild animal, and getting to pair Gizzard with a character that so many Tennesseans already know and love is such a special opportunity to get people excited about our native wildlife. We want people to learn how to peacefully coexist with their wild neighbors, what to do if they find a critter that might need help, and why the wild should remain in the wild."
Kirkland started the nonprofit rescue during the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of taking in injured or orphaned animals, rehabilitating them, and releasing them back into nature in the proper manner. She specializes in raccoons, opossums, and other "misunderstood species," and since the start, she's saved dozens of animals across Tennessee.
Gizzard, T-Rac's newest friend, is working as an educational ambassador for the nonprofit, raising awareness about what to do if you encounter a wild animal that may need help.

"It's the first chance to win a ****** le. We want to keep raising our standards, hone our style of play and improve every single player both physically and technically. Such hard-fought and challenging matches help our team grow," said Bayern coach José Barcala in his pre-match comments captured via FCBayern.com.
Added center-back Glódís Viggósdóttir: "It's always special to play against Wolfsburg. We share a history of great and thrilling encounters – I love such matches. I'm really looking forward to a match where there's something at stake."
According to the club website, Bayern will be missing Anna Klink, Giulia Gwinn, Vanessa Gilles, Edna Imade, Franziska, Lena Oberdorf, and Sarah Zadrazil.
