It contributed about $160 million of the $479.4 million in sales the company posted last quarter, helping total sales climb 36% and beat Wall Street's expectation of $431.2 million. By contrast, the core e.l.f. Brand actually declined.
Ulta Beauty, Inc. (NASDAQ:ULTA) told a very different story earlier this summer: its fiscal first-quarter sales climbed 11% to $3.16 billion as wealthier shoppers traded up to prestige brands.
Both retailers just beat expectations, but e.l.f. Beauty, Inc. (NYSE:ELF)'s growth is now riding almost entirely on one celebrity-founded brand while its own namesake line shrinks. Ulta's is coming from affluent shoppers splurging on prestige names.
That leaves a real question: is e.l.f.'s Rhode-powered growth a sign of real momentum, or a company becoming dangerously dependent on a single brand?
Rhode's appeal goes well beyond its Gen Z fanbase. CFO Mandy Fields said "everybody looks at her and aspires to do what she's doing," adding that women in their 40s are lining up for Rhode products too, a sign the brand isn't confined to one age group. Players representing 22 states and three countries are scheduled to compete, highlighting the AJGA's international membership and competitive field. The field also includes 25 Minnesota natives and three players who have committed to play collegiate golf.
The Discover Austin Minnesota Junior Championship first joined the AJGA schedule in 2023 and has been held annually at Austin Country Club since its inception.

Fresh off attending the Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods wedding, pop icon Justin Bieber was spotted enjoying the Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers game from the bleachers alongside his wife, Hailey.
The star-studded guest list of Towns, the Knicks' center and forward, and Woods, a model and influencer, had a wedding featuring popular names. The guest list included the likes Timothee Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Ben Stiller, Michael B. Jordan and Teyana Taylor, among others. Justin and Hailey were also in attendance.
Just two days after the wedding, the couple were spotted enjoying the Dodgers vs. Brewers series finale at Dodger Stadium, where the hosts lost 6-2 and dropped the four-game series to the Brewers, losing three of four.

For the outing, the power couple went for a very relaxed, understated baseball-game look. Justin opted for an oversized white T-shirt paired with boxer shorts, while Hailey donned a white sleeveless tank top with blue jeans and a hat. From the pictures and videos going viral online, the couple seemed to have a great time during the game, with both seen smiling and enjoying the game action throughout.

The New York Knicks star and Jordyn Woods reportedly got married over the weekend in Malibu, California.
On Sunday, Aug. 16, the New York Post shared photos and details of the wedding. The outdoor ceremony was held under a flowered arch overlooking the ocean. Woods wore a strapless ball gown with a neck scarf and Towns opted for a black suit and bow tie. All of the guests wore black attire.
The publication reported that Towns' Knicks teammates Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Jose Alvarado and Miles McBride attended the wedding along with New York superfans Ben Stiller and Timothée Chalamet. The "Marty Supreme" actor's girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, is a good friend of Woods and was also a guest. Other members of Woods' close circle shared in the joyous occasion, including Suni Lee and Hailey and Justin Bieber.

Karl-Anthony Towns now has two rings in the last two months. The NBA superstar helped lead the New York Knicks to their first championship in 53 years in June and married his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, on Saturday.
The ceremony was held in Malibu, California. Several A-list celebrities attended the event, which had the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop.

The 7-foot center played for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2015 to 2024. The team traded him on Oct. 2, 2024 in exchange for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop and a future first-round pick.

e.l.f. Beauty (NYSE:ELF) reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results on August 5, and the headline number is hard to ignore. Net sales grew 36% year-over-year, marking the company's 30th consecutive quarter of net sales growth, a streak stretching back more than seven years. Management says only 6 of 516 public consumer companies tracked have matched that pace while averaging at least 20% quarterly growth. On the back of it, e.l.f. raised its full-year outlook to 18% to 20% net sales growth, up from 12% to 14% previously.
Of roughly 1,800 cosmetics and skin care brands Nielsen tracks, only 14 have topped $200 million in retail sales, and e.l.f. now owns four of them. Rhode, the Hailey Bieber brand, is the standout. It added about $160 million in net sales this quarter and posted $27 million in single-day sales on rhodeskin.com during its summer launch, pulling in 90,000 new customers while still drawing over 70% of sales from repeat buyers. International sales grew 61%, well ahead of the 29% domestic pace, as e.l.f. expands into Boots in the UK, Sephora in Brazil, and Naturium into Canada and Mexico this fall.
Rhode itself launches with Sephora across 19 European countries in September. The company is also pushing into haircare, with its June launch of e.l.f. Hair drew nearly half its buyers from outside the existing e.l.f. customer base, a sign the newer categories are expanding the audience rather than just cross-selling it.
Strip away Rhode and the core e.l.f. business told a different story this quarter. Organic net sales declined by a high single-digit percentage, and unit volumes fell about 3 percentage points even as pricing and mix added 39 points to overall growth. Management ran a pricing test this spring and ultimately cut prices on about 10% of e.l.f. SKUs to try to win back units, an acknowledgment that value positioning needed adjusting. Profitability also got a boost that will not repeat. Q1 gross margin jumped roughly 1,400 basis points to 83%, but over 1,050 of those basis points came from $50 million in IEEPA tariff refunds flowing through cost of goods. Adjusted EBITDA rose 93% to $168 million, yet excluding the refund, growth was 36%.
Management plans to reinvest the entire refund through lower prices and marketing, which it expects to be a net zero benefit to full-year EBITDA. SG&A as a share of sales also climbed to 54% from 50% a year earlier, and the company still owes the first payment on Rhode's earnout later this year given how far the brand has outperformed.
